Sky blue toes and a day Sunny on the beach, yeah the sun doesn't even compare to how hot you are 😉 how about a picnic day though? ☺️
Does anyone know of a women's beach shoe or sandal that goes from walking to the beach to walking on the sand? Not a water shoes you actually wear into the water. I have a pair of gladiator style reef sandals but they are giving me blisters. It is kind of a long walk to the beach and I refuse to pay $40 parking.
Most any Crocs. Also good for salt water.
if you want a slip on to take off on your blanket, crocs or birks
if you want actual shoes that can go in the water, olu kais
Tevas or Chacos
Tevas
Seconding Tevas.
Third on Tevas!!
Rainbow sandals are good I hear. Not really sure you want BIFL beach shoes though. Just some good sandals that can take a beating for a few years maybe.
Any suggestions?
Everyone says Birkenstocks. I thought everyone was stupid. But everyone was right. Birks do something magical.
Once Birkenstocks break in and mold to your feet, they are- IMO- the absolute standard. But... assuming you're a woman and not interested in Birks (my wife is eyeballing a pair of Birk mules for work)- then Kuru Footwear will be your best best.
Source- I've been suffering from PF to varying degrees for 25 years, and Kuru and Topo Athletic (only athletic shoes) are the only 2 brands I can wear comfortably during and "next-day after" wear without Orthotic inserts.
I wear the Birkenstock Franca style in this situation. It's a Birkenstock, don't get me wrong, but it's got three narrower straps that cross a bit, so it's a little more elegant (we're grading on a scale here) than the typical Birkenstock Arizona.
Thank you!
You're welcome! I think people think Birks are just one thing, but they have a pretty broad offering including sneakers (fashion, not athletic), boots, clogs, house shoes, etc. They've been an absolutely lifesaver for me.
Orthofeet has some good options. I bought 3 pair this year and love them.
Which model
As far as I know, they all have good supportive footbeds. And they come with an optional extra arch support you can slip in under the insole (it detaches at the heel for access).
I got Chloe, Carrie, and Sahara. They are all very comfortable.
I wear the Sahara instead of slippers around the house as it’s quite hot in my part of the world currently.
I bought some Kuru sandals recently. They have helped a lot.
My current shoes are already lone peak 5s, Teva classics and vivo barefoot Oxfords.
I was wondering does anyone carry a shoe that could double as water/beach shoes and then wear out to dinner or dressy occasions?
I was thinking something like Astral Loyaks in black (yeah I know not super dressy but looks like they could pass in most instances)
Bonus points if barefoot or has a wide toe box, I hate narrow shoes and need to be able to wiggle toes
I love my current setup but planning on downsizing my current bag and one less pair of shoes would be great
honestly, I have some croc sandals that work great for these dual use, nice enough for dressing up but since they’re rubber they’re great on the beach. I don’t see mine online anymore but think something like this: https://www.crocs.com/p/womens-crocs-tulum-toe-post-sandal/206108.html
Love this suggestion but apparently my feet sweat too much for crocs (or just this model). I used to have a pair but after wearing for about 15 minutes my feet start squeaking and it gets super annoying
Oh I am so sorry for you! I literally just bought the Tulums for work and play trips based on a post here. Dinner was great but I could se ethe potential for squeaking
I love you for this comment. I have been worried about taking too many shoes and have been debating on bringing a pair for the communal shower or a pair to go out in. I just bought these in black. Life saver!!
Edit: they’re on sale rn, too! And you can sign up for their newsletter to get an extra 15% off.
The best beach shoes are Chaco’s Z/Cloud 2 Sandal developed to be rafting sandals so water is part of their DNA, so to speak. These rugged water sandals have experienced a bit of a sartorial renaissance over the past few years, but that kind of fashion fanfare hasn’t gone to their head. Designed with a multi-webbing system, these water shoes can be cinched in numerous places to give you a perfect fit. We like the toe loop that keeps them steady when caught in water movement when your feet sink in mud or churned-up sand or when you’re using the force of your feet to push off. The sturdiness the toe-loop gives really does make a difference. Plus, these shoes are podiatrist-certified with a LUVSEAT PU footbed, which delivers a light cushion and loads of shock absorption for comfort and support. These water shoes are designed to be worn all day.
Reef Vista! No one thinks they are waterproof shoes. Comes in a slide or a sandal with a back strap. Really comfy. I got all black. Wish they had had the black with the tan footbed at the time! https://www.reef.com/products/womens-sandals-reef-water-vista-black-tan
What a great rec! Any issues with rubbing from the straps? Have you tried walking on these ones for long distances? I'm wondering if this could double as a walking shoe when I need a breather from a closed toe shoe.
I don’t often have rubbing issues with many shoes, except my pinky toes sometimes. What I usually need is arch support! But a stiff sole will do. These are pretty comfy. All the reviews that said the same were what made me buy them. Now, are they my comfy, worn-in birks? No. 🤣 But I can’t wear those EVERYWHERE. Though I try!! But these shoes don’t feel plastic-y or like the Jelly sandals of my youth, which is what I had feared!!
I wouldn’t do a full day of tourist walking in them. I mostly bring them on tropical/island type trips and wear them when I know my feet could get wet or if I’m on a boat. They’re comfortable and totally fine walking around for an hour or two, but I wouldn’t plan on doing multiple miles in them.
I used my Xero Z-Trail sandals for absolutely everything—beach, kayaking, cycling, walking, hiking, shopping, travel, etc—until they fell apart. I’ve switched to Chacos now, mostly for costs reason, although I pretty much use the Chacos for all the above scenarios haha but they’re just heavier for travelling! I bring only the Xero Sandals/Chacos and one gym shoes in my onebag.
I love my Xero Z-Trails. They are so light and low profile that you can throw them in any bag and barely register that they are there. I take them backpacking in the mountains with my ultralight gear and backpacking for travel and they fit every occasion. I’m currently on a three week trip and I’ve worn them every day!
The Eleftheria Jellies from Ancient Greek Sandals are definitely pricey, but can easily go from beach to a nice dinner. I got mine on sale a few years ago and love them.
I love those gorgeous sexy delicious toes
So sexy! Love itt
Thank you! <33
Love them and love that sound 😍
Where did you find those style of Tory flip flops. My gf has wanted them for months and I can't find them anywhere
Found them at a thrift store but they are called chealsies
Amazing 😍
Looking for recommendations for sandals to wear on the beach -- I'm going on vacation and after a few moves, I realize I only have one pair of basic rubber flip flops from Old Navy and they're metallic so also heavy. We'll be at a resort, so I was looking for something that is durable/waterproof (enough) for the beach, but then are cute enough/comfortable enough to walk around during the day as well. Also, something that doesn't need a break in time (I'd be ordering them ASAP and then leaving end of the month!)

The friend I'm going with will be bringing rubber Birkenstocks to give you an idea -- but I'm not really interested in those at the moment. But I'd be open to a similar idea. Or like Rainbow sands... I'm not really sure what's out there but I'd appreciate something on the cheap(er) side, like $40 and under without a break in time. Thanks!
Believe it or not, Crocs. I got this pair of strappy sandals last summer and they don’t require breaking in. They’re a little slippery when wet but since the shoe is secured to your foot by the ankle straps, the slip is not enough to make you lose your footing.
I’m a huge fan of crocs sandals too after being completely anti-Crocs - they have a ton of surprisingly cute styles, super comfortable and lightweight, and they seem to last forever. Seconding your advice!
I'm thirding this.
As a Floridian I wear a TON of flip flops.
These look cute and are comfortable enough to walk in ALL DAY
They work for the beach and also look nice with dresses
You're welcome
I like tevas, their current sale is within budget. Personally, I specifically like the midforms. I like the higher flatforms also, but they are a little harder to walk on sand. I find the midforms are cute enough with normal clothes and also work on the beach.
I was also going to suggest Tevas. Very comfortable for walking but you don't have to worry about them getting wet or sandy, just rinse them off and go. Not all the styles are cute, but some of them are and the cute styles are still reasonably comfortable.
I bought a pair of Chacos and was able to even go hiking in them. I'd say both Chacos and Tevas are great warm weather walking sandals. Extremely sturdy, durable, waterproof, etc.
They run a bit more expensive, but there's sales (or listings on amazon) that bring them under $40
Another vote for Chacos! You can even find some made in the US (Michigan).
I love Ipanema for this. I have a few pairs of the ones that have an ankle strap in different colours. They're extremely comfortable, look stylish, and are waterproof. They're also quite affordable. I have this pair and a few others. The weekend I bought my first pair, I went on a weekend trip and wore them walking around the city for the entire weekend and didn't have a single blister.
Yes to Ipanemas! I recommend looking for pairs that have the “anatomic” footbed, with some support at the arch and toes.
I love my Tevas. They have decent arch support, and if you have feet that are funky sizes, some of their options are very adjustable, which I appreciate.
I don't know if I'd call mine especially cute, but they are super comfortable and you can rinse them off if they get sandy. I wear them almost all the time in the summer, and one of my pairs I've owned since literally 1997 and they're still in great shape.
Yeah, my Tevas were fantastic for our Hawaii trip. On previous beach vacations, I always hated the foot pain I’d get from walking on the beach in regular flip flops and did not want to deal with that in literal paradise. Tevas were great - and even comfortable enough to wear on some of the more touristy stuff we did.
I love my Tevas. I have four pairs in three different styles. I really enjoy the platform sandal. Casual with a touch of the 90s/00s style that continues to be trendy and which elevates them just a bit beyond their normal counterparts.
I like 1 because I can see more of your beautiful foot. Also that ankle roll has me drooling 🥵🥰
I got much more where that came from!
The white one shows off your tattoo better!
I agree!
Gorgeous soles and toes 🍁 😍 💕 10

Best beach sandals for women
Key Considerations for Choosing Beach Sandals:
Comfort: Look for sandals with cushioned footbeds and arch support to ensure comfort during long walks on the beach.
Durability: Choose materials that can withstand sand, saltwater, and sun exposure. Rubber and synthetic materials are often more durable than leather.
Traction: Opt for sandals with a non-slip sole to provide good grip on wet surfaces, reducing the risk of slipping.
Style: Consider your personal style and how the sandals will match your beachwear. There are various designs, from flip-flops to slides and sporty sandals.
Adjustability: Sandals with adjustable straps can provide a better fit and accommodate different foot shapes.
Recommendations:
Teva Terra Fi 5 Universal: Known for their comfort and support, these sandals are great for walking on the beach and have a durable design with excellent traction.

Havaianas Flip-Flops: A classic choice, these are lightweight, stylish, and come in a variety of colors. They are perfect for quick trips to the beach.
