TL;DR
Vitamix Blenders
Vitamix blenders are consistently praised across discussions for their exceptional performance and longevity. Users highlight that Vitamix can handle a wide range of tasks from smoothies to soups, and even blending tough ingredients like nuts and ice without issue [2:1]
[5:2]. The Vitamix 5200 model is specifically mentioned as an excellent choice, with some users noting significant discounts available during sales events
[2:5]. While Vitamix blenders come with a premium price tag, many users believe they are worth the investment due to their durability and superior blending capabilities
[5:7].
Nutribullet Blenders
For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, the Nutribullet is highly recommended. Users appreciate its affordability, compact size, and ease of cleaning [1:1]
[5:5]. Despite being less expensive than high-end models like Vitamix, the Nutribullet is noted for its ability to blend smoothies effectively, handling frozen fruits and ice with ease
[5:3]. It's a popular choice for those who want a reliable blender without breaking the bank.
Ninja Blenders
Ninja blenders are often cited as a solid mid-range option, offering good performance at a reasonable price. They are praised for their powerful motors and durable construction [4:2]. While some users prefer Vitamix for its superior blending quality, Ninja blenders are still considered a great choice for those who want a balance between cost and functionality
[1:12]
[4:1].
Additional Considerations
When choosing a blender, consider what you'll primarily use it for. If you're focused on making smoothies, look for a blender that can achieve a smooth, creamy texture without leaving chunks of ice or fruit. For those interested in additional functionalities like making hot soups or using the blender as a food processor, a high-performance model like the Vitamix might be more suitable [3:1]. Additionally, check for deals and discounts, especially during major sales events, as this can significantly reduce the cost of premium blenders
[5:10].
I am getting into weight gaining, a well-meaning friend recommended this mass gainer which I should take after a gym session and make a smoothie if possible.
Ever since I have been on a roller coaster to find a good blender to make smoothies, here are the three I have come down to -
I am indifferent between the three, I just cannot decide which is better, I would appreciate it if someone could help me with this decision.
I bought this blender to replace an old glass one that I had for $60. This one is by far more than quadruple the quality. The blades are quick and powerful. Blends through 98% of the time. I'm sure the 2% is my user error. The 3 blades are very nice and are the reason why it blends so smoothly. cleaning them is a little difficult so I suggest rinsing the blades with hot water immediately after you are finished blending to avoid scrubbing so much. The jug size is large and is easy enough to fit lots of various ingredients. The main motor hub is really powerful, it is loud but not as loud as some of the more cheap blenders. This one is very simple and has only 3 speeds and a pulse option, which in all honesty is all you need. The buttons are membrane push buttons for easy cleaning they feel durable.
I'm very happy with the Ninja BL660 Professional Compact Smoothie & Food Processing Blender. It's a powerful, versatile, and easy-to-use blender that is perfect for anyone who wants to make delicious and healthy meals at home.
I see that you are happy with the Ninja BL660 Blender. I am thinking of getting one myself. Can you tell me more about how you use it? What are your favorite things to make with it?
Everybody is saying that Vitamix is better than Ninja, I can say that Ninja for sure is much better
Vitamix. Get refurbished and save money
100% agree with you, vitamix is the best. It is costly, but it's absolutely worth the money even if you buy new one. If you buy cheap ones, they break very fast, so you need to get new one so it means you spend more, vitamix will last.
Vitamix is the best choice,
BTW, here's the Amazon List of Blenders Recommended by other Reddit Members here.
I've used this Ninja blender more or less on a daily basis with frozen fruits and vegetables for about two months. I knew that I would be getting a lot of use out of it, and have had experience with both low end blenders (always disappointing) and high end blenders (from working at a smoothie making business), and was a little bit hesitant to purchase one at this price point, rather than investing in a higher end, more powerful one. However, I was happily surprised by both the quality and easy of use of this blender. It has a very solid glass jar (I've had bad experiences with cracks in the jars of cheaper plastic blenders). It also comes apart for easy cleaning and can go in the dishwasher. It's so easy to clean and used so frequently in my household that I rarely need to put it in the dishwasher unless I'm in a rush. The motor may not be as powerful as some more high end blenders, but as long as you make sure to start with a liquid base, it has no trouble blending frozen foods
100% agree on this. I've got vitamix explorian for about 3/4 years, one of the best purchases i've made.
We love our Nutribullet for smoothies! It’s a fraction of the cost of others and a beeeze to clean (unlike most!). It’s easy to find off market parts cheaply too. You can take a look at more options here https://shirkmedianarrow.com/best-blender/
Once you go Vitamix you never go back!
Ninja>Vitamix
Now I'm currently searching for the best blender for smoothies that is powerful, efficient, and easy to clean. I want something with strong blades, good blending consistency, and durability for making smooth, chunk-free drinks.
I've come across several options during my research, but I’d love to hear about your personal experiences and recommendations. Some options I’ve been considering include:
If you have any personal favorites or additional insights on these smoothie blenders or others that might be better for power, consistency, or ease of use, please share!
Hands down a Vitamix
Vitamix. Love ours. Such a workhorse and makes great smoothies, hummus, soup, etc.
Vitamix. Its worth the money.
Vitamix is an indestructible workhorse and cannot be easier to use, particularly for smoothies.
Agreed. I have the Vitamix 5200 and it’s amazing.
If you’re not in a hurry I’ve seen them massively discounted on Amazon on Prime Day/Black Friday, I got mine for almost half off.
Yes! I could never get them right, and finally caved to try and get my kid to drink them at home. There's no comparison. I've actually made vegetable soup that was Too velvety and smooth, don't ask me how, but I did!
Vitamix so your offspring can have something to inherit
I’m in the market for a new blender -I have a cheap walmart one that sucks. What’s the best blender you’ve used for smoothies, soups, and also works as food processor?
Vitamix. Can't live without mine.
Different tools even if there's some overlap.
Try making a dough in a blender.
Try making a smoothie in a food processor.
Totally get you what would you say is best for a blender then? Ill likely use the blender features more often I'm thinking.
Well Vitamix is the iconic brand but has a premium price. The friends that have them all love them, and they're all fitness people that make smoothies with ice daily so it's worth it for them.
I've not used them but Ninja Foodie seems to be popular with the people that own them.
Vitamix is the GOAT for soups and smoothies. It’s above and beyond most other options. However it’s not optimal as a food processor, it blend too good.
So I have a Vitamix and a cheaper off brand model as a food processor.
I've heard good things about vitamix thank you. Do you have the model with the tamper thing? Im starting to learn just how different these tools are haha.
I do. As I understand they come as standard with most models.
All kitchen appliances have they own unique uses. TBH I use my food processor the least of my appliances. I use my Vitamix and my Bamix blender the most. Those and with a ceramic mandolin you cover most of the needs of a food processor
Lately saw that lot of people are searching for best blender options on market so i made a research top about best options on market.
Blenders are a kitchen essential for many people. Whether you use them to make smoothies, soups, or sauces, a good blender can help you make quick and easy meals and drinks. But with so many different blenders on the market, it can be hard to know which one to buy.
In this guide, we will review some of the best blenders on the market and help you choose the right one for your needs. We will consider factors such as price, performance, features, and design.
Here are some of the best blenders to buy in 2023:
From my experience I was hesitant about this Ninja blender and it’s durability but oh boy was I wrong , this review is after using it for several months and wow it does work like a a beauty , super resistant and the motor requires little time and effort to work , I believe I’m also saving some money in electricity since it’s so powerful . Great product , 100% recommended
Ninja blender will be best budget option, but Vitamix is better in my opinion, but ofcaurse much expensive also
I’m on a bit of a health kick and trying to make smoothies part of my daily routine. problem is, my $30 blender from years ago is just not cutting it. literally. It leaves weird ice chunks no matter what I do.
So, for people who make smoothies daily, what’s your go to? Recommend me THE blender for smoothies that actually makes that creamy texture you get at smoothie shops.
I don’t mind spending a bit if it lasts. Are Vitamix and Blendtec really that much better or is there a midrange option that works just as well?
Vitamix is number one for a reason. There is not a comparable midrange option. Ours has been going on 10 years or so and shows no signs of dying. It could blend a brick.
I love my nutribullet and have been using it for 7 years, never any weird ice pieces.
Been using my Nutribullet for 5 years and it still works like a charm, no issues and at a fraction cost of a Vitamix.
Exactly. Vitamix are the literal OG legends, but for the purpose of making smoothies, you cannot beat Nutribullet on the price, the ease of cleaning, and how long they last. I haven’t needed to replace any part. It destroys nuts, seeds, ice, frozen fruit. It’s honestly so easy to clean. I use mine at least 1x day for 7 years straight.
Anyone who doesn't say Vitamix has never used a Vitamix.
I have a vitamix and I love it! Use it every single day and it never disappoints…
Vitamix
Went from a $40 blender to a vitamix many years ago. Best upgrade ever. The difference in performance is insane. Texture is unmatched. Even their customer service is awesome (couldn't figure out how to align the magnets for the smoothie container). Highly recommend.
That’s exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping to hear, thank you! Vitamix is definitely climbing to the top of my list. Everyone keeps mentioning how smooth the texture is, which is honestly my biggest gripe with cheaper blenders right now. Cool to hear their customer service is great too, that kind of support makes the investment feel way more worth it.
I’ll never own a blender that’s not a vitamix. Absolute beast.
Hey!! I was totally turned off by vitamix for A long time. I have an x4 and love everything but the “smart” technology. Vitamix is truly the best brand out there, I’ve tried many. If I lived in a single family home , and noise wasn’t and issue, I’d get a 750 pro or 5200.
There are so many on eBay <$200! If you belong to Costco, they have incredible deal too. I purchased by x4 for a $200 discount there (still crazy expensive)… I do have to say, it’s a beast and very well built!
Luv my Blendtec. It makes hot puréed soup as well.
I’m on the hunt for a blender that gives great performance without completely draining my wallet. I need one for smoothies, soups, sauces, and maybe even light food prep tasks like crushing ice or making nut butter. So, what’s the best blender you’ve found in terms of cost and performance? Are the pricier options like Vitamix or Blendtec worth it, or do mid-range options like Ninja provide better value for money?
I like the ninja too, but I don't love the blade. I accidentally cut my hand a few times while washing it. That's why I gave up the ninja and bought the vitamix. But I still have the ninja with the food processor and the drink cup that came with it. Still use it.
If you didn’t know, you can wash a blender by putting hot soapy water in it and running it a bit. That whizzes the gunk out of it
I'll echo what everyone else is saying....a Vitamix is the way to go. There is no blender like it, not even the ninja, and it will last forever. It is absolutely worth every penny.
I got mine refurbished as well. It came from that store that used to be in outlet malls and was cheaper than Costco. I went through so many blenders before I got my Vitamix.
For those that don't know, Vitamix offers a 30 day trial and if you don't want it, you send it back and they replace everything but the blade.
Vitamix 5200 is the old standby. I’ve had mine for years and worked in plenty of professional kitchens that use them way more than any home cook.
We loathe our Vitamix. It’s noisy, the plastic jug is not dishwasher safe and the blade cannot blend dry goods without swapping to a dedicated dry blade. It is powerful - that’s all.
Solid choice. Love mine. Just made some nut butter last night.
The biggest issue with the ninja is that while it calls itself a blender it's a good processor in blenders clothing. The hallmark of a blender is semi dull blades that pull food into a vortex that funnels the food to be chopped and crushed towards the blades facilitating further crushing and shredding.
The ninja has a central column of sharp blades that slice the food and that's it. This is the action of a food processor, it is moderate at best with ice crushing and is not well outfitted for producing nut butters either. It is fine for most people but it's in a different league entirely compared to vitamin or blendtec
They make a Ninja blender as you described, with the semi dull blades at the very bottom. I have one and it’s great.
I have a Vitamix, so that's what I'm used to. My son and I took a cooking class, though, and used a Ninja there, and we learned about what you said from using it. It was not as good for making sauces or soups because it didn't funnel like the Vitamix. It blended very unevenly.
The Vitamix of your choice is the best to buy right now and has been for quite a while, imo.
Got one through my wife’s company as a years of service gift and it’s wonderful. Most of my blending is done through immersion so the little we use the blender or processor it’s been wholly worth it. I couldn’t justify a vitamix price for our usage
So my old cheap blender finally gave up on me this week after years of struggling through smoothies and half-blended frozen fruit. I figured it’s time to actually invest in a good one instead of buying another $30 Walmart special that smells like burning plastic every time I make a shake.
I mostly want it for smoothies (frozen fruit, ice, protein shakes), but I also cook a fair bit so being able to make sauces, soups, maybe even nut butters would be awesome. I’ve heard people swear by Vitamix but the price makes me cry a little. Are they really that much better, or is there a middle ground that won’t bankrupt me but still won’t die after 6 months?
What’s the best blender you’ve actually used and would recommend?
Blendtec. Same price range as Vitamix but a little more “brute force” style. Mine pulverizes ice cubes like nothing.
Blendtec Designer 650 if you want the Ferrari of blenders. It even looks sexy on the counter
If OP is making batches of smoothies then Blendtec is a good option, but there are also a few smoothie makers (or smaller blenders) that are designed for the actual task and are usually cheaper.....
https://www.soundproofgenius.com/quietest-smoothie-maker/
The Beast and the Hamilton Beach on this list should be capable of blending dense items such as frozen fruit (without leaving chunks!)
My Vitamix could probably blend a shoe if I needed it to. Not that I've tried. But I could
Vitamix 5200 for the win. Aside from wearing out pitchers every so often it is just as good as when I bought it 15+ years ago. Like the simple design of the 5200.
I recently bought a 5200. Never had a vitamix before. That thing can blend!
This - Vitamix. Ours is 15+ years old - never a problem
Yup, mine is 12 and still going amazingly!
If you're lazy about cleaning, Vitamix 100%. The self clean function is life changing
I just put some warm water and a drop of Dawn in my blender and turn it on pulse to clean it. Then I just quickly rinse it with clean water. Comes out spotless and the whole routine takes a minute or two at most.
Are other blenders complicated to clean?
Woof- I had some sort of old school blender I got at a garage sale years ago and the entire glass pitcher screwed onto the blade mechanism and then the base. Lid came off, and two smaller holes for pouring oil I assume. It was a pain to use, dishwasher safe, but every component came apart.
If noise is really an issue, put your blender on a thick silicone mat. Reduces vibration noise significantly
I literally make about 8L of thick soups a week and I need a blender that won’t break on me. I know vitamix have best reviews but I’m hoping there is another option that will just last the duration at a better price. Been looking at the froothie optimums and they seem decent but is that true? One even has an option for a life time warranty, I just want to know if there are any catches.
Currently using a nutribullet that’s definitely not happy with me and is threatening to crap out on me if I persist to use it.
Buy the best immersion/ stick blender you can justify.
Stick blender, do it directly in the pot. Less stuff to clean. Get one with a switch that locks on, not the push and hold jobs.
I bought a stick blender and it’s been incredible for my soup making. I make about 8-10L at a time.
I only ever use a stick blender for soups. Transferring hot soup into and out of a blender never seemed good to me. I just have a Breville one and it's done a pretty good number of pots of soup along with various other beating, whisking and chopping tasks.
I guess it depends how much you're making at a time.
We have a Kmart stick blender and it's been put through its paces. It's been years (probably 10+?). Works as intended.
https://www.kmart.co.nz/product/stick-mixer-with-chopper-set-42942689 $40
I have the cheapest kmart stick blender. Had it 5 years or so. Wouldn't buy anything else!
My blender I’ve had for 20 years just broke and I’m shopping for a blender that is good for sauces, batter, smoothies, purées, that sort of thing. Is there one you recommend?
Thank you so much for your help!
ETA: can’t afford a Vitamix at the moment, but would love suggestions for something that costs less!
Vitamix. Hands down. Buy whichever one you can afford and don't forget to consider a refurb. I have a refurbished one from 2014 and it's still going strong. I use it multiple times a week. Smoothies, nut butter, sauce, soup, powderizing stuff, etc. It is as powerful as the first day I got it.
I bought a Vitamix and returned it.
The reasons:
It doesn’t blend small amounts. I use my blender to make salad dressing.
You have to buy a separate jar and tamper for dry ingredients. The jars and tampers are expensive and take up cupboard space.
You aren’t supposed to put any of the parts in the dishwasher.
Vitamixs are touted for smoothies, blended cocktails and velvety smooth soups. I don’t consume smoothies or blended cocktails and I prefer my soups a bit chunky.
Also it’s safer to blend soup with a stick blender.
Vitamix. Then the rest of the options.
Vitamix is the gold standard. Expensive but sturdy.
I use a blender maybe once a month so I do just fine with a cheap Ninja.
Love my ninja blender. Affordable reliable and gets the job done
Have had my Ninja for about 5 years. Use it several times a month and it’s in kinda rough shape but I throw that thing in the dish washer and treat it like a beater so it’s living up to its price and expectations and then some
I wish I had saved up some cash for a Vitamix rather than getting a Ninja. Now I’m waiting for my Ninja to die so I can justify getting a Vitamix.
I like my Ninja. My Vitamix died and it’s been a good replacement.
I have a Ninja and it great. I've used it almost daily for a year with no issues.
Love my Ninja. Had it since before my child was born (kiddo turning 9 soon-ish). Use it often. Still works great!
Don’t do it. Get the Vitamix. Thought the same thing about 5 years ago. How much better can it be? Do I really need to spend that?
Ninja died 6 months ago after 5 years of light to medium use. So I got the vitamix.
Never going back
The best blender I've ever owned is a Vitamix. It will make purees that are restaurant quality.

Key Considerations for Choosing the Best Blender:
Power and Performance: Look for a blender with at least 500 watts for basic tasks. For smoothies and tougher ingredients, consider models with 1000 watts or more.
Blade Quality: Stainless steel blades are durable and effective. Some blenders come with specially designed blades for crushing ice or blending tough ingredients.
Jar Material: Glass jars are sturdy and don’t retain odors, while plastic jars are lighter and less prone to breaking. BPA-free plastic is a safer choice.
Capacity: Choose a jar size that fits your needs. A 48-64 oz jar is ideal for families, while smaller jars (20-32 oz) are great for single servings.
Speed Settings and Features: Multiple speed settings and pre-programmed functions (like smoothie, ice crush, or soup) offer versatility. A pulse feature can also be useful for precise control.
Ease of Cleaning: Look for blenders with dishwasher-safe parts or self-cleaning functions for convenience.
Recommendations:
Vitamix 5200: Highly regarded for its powerful motor, durability, and versatility. It excels in making smoothies, soups, and nut butters. The variable speed control allows for precise blending.
Ninja Professional BL610: A more budget-friendly option, this blender offers a powerful 1000-watt motor and a large 72 oz pitcher, making it great for smoothies and frozen drinks.
Breville Super Q: Known for its quiet operation and high performance, it features a powerful motor and multiple blending functions, ideal for those who want a premium experience.
Choosing the right blender depends on your specific needs, such as the types of recipes you plan to make and your budget.
