TL;DR
Budget-Friendly Options
For those seeking soundbars within the $200-$300 range, several models stand out as good choices. The Vizio M-Series 5.1 Soundbar is frequently mentioned for its quality sound and affordability [4]. The LG S80TR is another option that users have found to be a good deal, especially if you can find promotions or refurbished units
[1:5].
Sound Quality and Features
The Sonos Beam (Gen 2) is often highlighted for its ease of use and sound quality. It offers features such as Dialogue enhancement, Airplay 2, Spotify Connect, and Alexa integration, making it a versatile choice for those who want more than just a basic soundbar [4:3]. However, it lacks Bluetooth connectivity, which might be a limitation for some users
[4:11].
Comparisons and Considerations
When comparing soundbars, users often weigh factors like sound quality, ease of setup, and additional features. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 and Samsung HW-Q600C are also popular choices among users looking for reliable soundbars [5]. While Sonos is praised for its whole-home audio capabilities, other brands like JBL and Yamaha offer competitive sound quality without requiring additional speakers
[5:4].
Additional Recommendations
For those willing to stretch their budget slightly, the Sennheiser Ambeo Mini has been noted for superior sound quality compared to the Sonos Beam, though it comes at a higher price point [2:1]
[2:3]. Additionally, the Hisense AX5125H with Dolby Atmos was recommended by a user who purchased it during Black Friday sales
[1:2].
In summary, when choosing a budget soundbar, consider what features are most important to you, whether it's integration with other devices, sound quality, or ease of setup. Look for deals and promotions to maximize your purchase value.
Looking for the best soundbar I can get for $200-$300 for an apartment. I’m not looking for magic in this price range just a nicer movie upgrade over the poor sounding muffled bass heavy speakers on my tv. I mostly watch movies in 4k.
ive been pretty happy with ax5125h from hisense - it has atmos - it was black friday when i got it for $249

Amazon soundbar plus, $179.
I recently got an LG Oled B4 48' and am looking for a soundbar to go with it. First question is, how much do you need to spend on a soundbar for it to be worth upgrading on the TV speakers? Maximum budget I'd be willing to spend would be £200-300.
I've checked out a few "best budget soundbars" reviews and have found a few which I'd appreciate any thoughts on:
Interested in this too, I've also been looking at the Bose Smart soundbar but leaning more towards the Sennheiser Ambeo mini, currently £329
How come you're leaning towards that over the Sonos?
I'll assume you're talking about the Beam 2 as similarly priced
I have a small lounge and thin walls so don't want a sub, and don't really have the space for rear speakers, so don't need to buy into the whole Sonos speakers everywhere thing. Plus if I did that it would be cheaper to buy a proper receiver and speaker package
From reviews the Ambeo has better sound than the Beam. I also don't have any Apple products so can't set up the trueplay on a Sonos which it needs to get the best out of it.
But the main thing is the Beam doesn't have Bluetooth, which would be used from other devices, music from phone etc
Looks good, and Samsung are recommended, unfortunately too wide for me, wouldn't fit on my stand 😞.
Ah fair enough, I'll need to check the measurements!

I’m currently looking for a good, beginner-friendly soundbar to upgrade my TV setup — something that can really improve dialogue clarity, movie audio, and overall sound quality without getting too complicated.
I don’t need a full home theater system, just a solid soundbar that’s easy to set up, sounds great, and works well for both movies and everyday TV watching.
Here are a few models I’ve been considering:
Sonos Beam (Gen 2), Bose Smart Soundbar 600, Samsung HW-Q600C, Vizio M-Series 5.1 Soundbar, Yamaha YAS-209, Polk Audio Signa S4, LG S75Q Soundbar
If you’ve used any of these or have another favorite soundbar that’s worked well for you, I’d love to hear your experience! Also open to advice on bass performance, voice clarity, whether Dolby Atmos is worth it, and how well they integrate with streaming devices.
Thanks in advance!
Sorry I’ve only ever heard the q990D.
I have no issues with the subwoofer, it doesn’t crack/pop and will shake most of the room. Overall I’m very impressed with the q990d, I listened to some LG soundbars at BestBuy, they had no OOMPH to them or good punch. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by either the q990d or the F. I’d purchase whichever bar you can find on sale. Ive had zero issues with my q990d.
Sonos Beam.
It works automagically and everyone else in the family just uses the same TV remote they’ve been using.
It’s compact, has Dialogue enhancement, Airplay 2, Spotify Connect, and it’s an Alexa.
Doesn't have chromecast which allows music streaming via wifi as opposed to Bluetooth which thru wifi the quality is better
It doesn't have Bluetooth, and I have big buyers remorse a few months after purchase after everyone told me it wasn't a big deal. It is a huge limitation. And it randomly plays music unprompted and everyone acts like it's totally fine.
Q990d or q990f
I just got a D two months ago for bedroom OLED, and we are enjoying it even compared to the Marantz home theater.
Whoa, that's a big statement. I have an old Kenwood home theater in a box setup with a Kenwood VR 407 system and this is my first foray into the soundbar territory with the Samsung hwq Q990F and although I haven't set it up yet, I'm a bit wary of it. How can a glorified soundbar system sound better than a traditional home theater system? I would be using my old Kenwood 5.1 setup if it weren't for space limitations. I'll see how this goes!
I had an Atmos home theater system with a Yamaha V6A and some old Kef speakers. Q990F actually sounds pretty decent - esp compared to sound bars a couple of years back (had a Q990F). For movies, I can imagine it being better than some home theater systems. The Atmos effects are good.
For music, it's not as good as the Kef floor standing speakers I had. That said, it's definitely good enough to the level that I don't miss my old setup anymore.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm using my TV's speakers along with it too via Q-Symphony and to me, that makes it sound better.
Don't you dare sully the Marantz name by comparing it to a sound bar. Haha.
Haha let’s just say I’m impressed by the punch and vocals from such a sleek compact system. I almost put in a Marantz cinema receiver in the bedroom but that quickly got shut down..
Jbl 1300x: amazing bass from 12 in subwoofer + wireless rear speakers. It sounds great and usually meets aesthetic requirements of a well decorated room.
Glad you enjoy it as much as I am, sounds great for movies and with ATMOS. I haven’t listened to much music on it yet but I’m sure it sounds great 👍
Senheisser Ambeo Plus if you’re going to also use for music. Had some issues in older reviews but most were fixed by firmware

Only get sonos if you are interested in whole home audio. Otherwise there are plenty that sound just as good. I have sonos in multiple rooms and love it. But if you’re not interested in adding other pieces go with another brand.
The Nakamichi Dragon is the best sound bar based system, but its expensive.
It’s the best soundbar? Why
Sound quality, number of speakers, AMT tweeters, Atmos reproduction, the sound bubble it creates, ease of setup and customization, DTS pro, amps on each sound channel, wattage in the drivers, two subs (dual opposing) in each sub box for great LFE (can shake my room/house), HDMI 2.1, lots of extra HDMI ports (in case your TV ran out of them) , no sound drop outs, etc.
I agree with you too tbh. A lot of the people i see that say negative things don’t actually own or use the system. Almost all owners ive seen only say good things about it
Jbl sounds good and they just got upgraded soundbars as well.
Meaning the older sort will probably be cheaper right now if you're looking for bargains.
Samsung Q990D is on sale for $700 at the Samsung EPP/EDU store.
How would one buy with no school email and no Samsung work email?
A lot of companies qualify for the EPP program, you should check if your company qualifies, or someone in your family qualifies.
Q990D
You can get the Hisense hs5100 for around that. Decent sound, 5.1ch with rears.
Just bought a 65inch oled LG TV, G4 model, that came with a free soundbar USG 10 T and that costs about £400 in the UK to purchase separately. Bought from an Hi-fi specialist Richer Sounds(Cardiff UK) for £1500 for the TV and soundbar. I've yet to set up the pair, as I'm having acoustic panels fitted behind the TV. My parents have a cheap LG soundbar and that's far better sounding than the Panasonic TV. So anything you can afford is an improvement I think.
Decent? £250ish
Audiophile level? £700
Get the samsung 935D, its the best for one under 500€
My dude just buy the best of whatever you can afford, if you’re coming from TV speakers pretty much any sound bar that has a separate subwoofer is gonna make a night and day difference
What is the best sound bar for music, movies and has Bluetooth connectivity with a good amount off bass?
Check Best Buy open box I got an ht-a3000 for $250
Check out Samsung HW-B750D. It's got bluetooth and great bass. It's currnetly on sale on Amazon for $278.
You can also get Hisense AX5125H which is even better but it's $350.
I recommend getting the Hisense if you can spare additional $50. A lot better value imo.
I’ve been using my TV’s built-in speakers for way too long, and I’m finally ready to upgrade to a soundbar. I'm looking for a sound system that balances great quality and value, whether under $200 or a high-end option for immersive movie nights. I'd love your personal recommendations
This is the list i consider
Thanks in advance your recommendation will help me
most flagship soundbars starting from 2023 are excellent mate. no need to buy the latest, there has not been improved much. maybe the choice between 120hz input may be inportant for you(because of less cable management) but if you have a great tv that is not even important.
If it is budget, the soundbars from vizio elevate seem to be high rated by rting. but you have to be aware wich model.
it comes down on personal audio taste. do like movies, games, music(if only music skip soundbars) or just tv.
when it is gaming and movies i would recommend 900D from samsung, but my room layout is excellent for this soundbar. i just like the clear voice, the bass and atmos audio. sonis is also great i own also sonos for another room, but i find it not as good as 900d for gaming, i like the multiroom function though.
He has a $200 budget
well i bought a soundbar from sony in a secondhand store for my parents, a flagship from 2014 with dts-HD and dolby-HD (still suported) sony HT-ST5 for like 140,- maybe someone is offering this model, excellent soundbar
My basic Yamaha is a great little soundbar for my garage tv. If that Sonos allows for the addition of a sub, I'd do that also

Sonos beam or Samsung Q800D or C
Samsung Q990d is the Rolls Royce of Soundbars.
If you have the budget, and space, go for it.
It's the best you can get without buying separate speakers IMO.
Pairing, the q990d with a base Shaker I have found is next level experience!
What shaker did you use? Were you able to connect it to the sound bar somehow?
Samsung S60 series
Hello,
Lately, I’ve had the chance to review more than 40 different soundbars, so I thought it would be helpful to share what I found and help anyone looking for a new one.
I recommend checking out this page for updated options, including my detailed reviews. Use the filter on the page to get option for $300 or any other budget in mind.
Let me know if you have any questions or if you've found better options.
Good luck
I need a 3.1 soundbar and my budget is not high, like 200-300 USD. Can anyone help me with some options to consider?
thanks!
You’ve got a couple of choices in that range in my opinion.
If you want something from a trusted brand with Dolby Atmos, check out the Sony HT-S2000. It’s a compact 3.1 soundbar with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. It uses Sony’s Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround for imporved audio. It also has built-in subwoofers, so you don’t need an external sub if space is an issue.
The sound quality is pretty balanced, especially for dialogue, but if you want deeper bass, you can add an optional wireless subwoofer.
The only downside is that it doesn’t come with dedicated rear speakers, but for the price, it’s a good pick.
thanks so much, I will check that.. any other option you may think of? i just don't want to miss a good option, all looks the same for me :(
Between the Samsung HW-B550D and the Sony HT-S2000, which would you recommend? I have both in my cart right now and I am not sure which to choose. Mostly watch tv shows and watch movies from 14 feet away. Both currently under $300.
Maybe I can help, though it is a tough comparison :)
If you want deeper bass and the flexibility to add rear speakers later, the Samsung HW-B550D with its wireless subwoofer is the better choice.
But if you prefer a cleaner setup with Dolby Atmos and virtual surround sound without extra speakers, the Sony HT-S2000 is the way to go.
So if prioritize bass and expandability (Samsung) or immersive 3D audio in a compact design (Sony).
There aren't many small sized soundbars to pick from unfortunately. I'm probably going to buy the ULTIMEA Poseidon D60 or the Samsung s60d. Thank you so much for your help.
I know it was supposed to be under $300, but I think I can stretch my budget to around $400. I was checking the site above and saw the Polk Signa S4 and the Klipsch Flexus CORE 200.
Can anyone help me decide between the two?
Both are great choices, but they have different strengths.
If you want an ultra-slim design with a separate subwoofer, go with the Polk Signa S4. It’s a 3.1.2-channel setup, meaning it has dedicated center drivers for clear dialogue and up-firing Dolby Atmos speakers for a more immersive effect. The wireless subwoofer helps with bass, making it great for movies.
I like that it has a wireless sub.
What about the Klipsch?
Hi, I been looking for a soundbar for my desk setup, and I want it to be under 70cm. Is the Samsung hw-s60d still a good option? It only costs around 200 USD here.
If you find it for $200 then it is an excellent option. Normally it costs between 250-350$.
It is under 27" (70cm),so you should be good.
Sounds good. Are there any other options I can go for, maybe with more bass? I heared the bass isn't the best on the s60d. Also I know soundbars are mainly used for tvs, but would it be suitable for a desktop setup? And what's the best way to connect it? HDMI arc or Bluetooth/wifi?
Hey Reddit, I’m buying a new TV next week and I know the sound probably won’t be amazing. It’ll mainly be for watching shows and movies, so it doesn’t need to be great for music since I have my JBL Boombox for that. Any recommendations for good budget options?
Thanks!
Definitely check out Vizio. A lot of good budget options from them.
I researched that recently. Depends on your budget, regional prices, room and even TV size. I suggest you consider: Q700c Sonos beam 2 Vizio soundbars (there are full surround solutions for a small price)
