TL;DR
DJ Controllers
For beginners, a DJ controller is an essential piece of equipment. The Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 is highly recommended across discussions due to its user-friendly interface and compatibility with popular DJ software like Rekordbox and Serato [1:2]
[2:1]
[3:5]. Other notable mentions include the Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX and the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 500, which offer good functionality at a reasonable price point
[5:1]
[5:4].
Software Options
The choice of DJ software can significantly impact your learning experience. Rekordbox and Serato are two of the most popular options, both offering robust features for beginners and professionals alike [3:2]
[5:5]. It's often suggested to try out different software to see which one you prefer, as each has its unique workflow and features
[1:1].
Budget-Friendly Advice
Starting with affordable equipment is a common recommendation. Many users suggest purchasing second-hand controllers or entry-level models to get started without a significant financial commitment [1:3]
[1:4]. This approach allows beginners to learn the basics and decide if they want to invest in more advanced equipment later on. For those with a budget around $300-$350 CAD, the Pioneer DDJ-400 is frequently recommended
[5:1]
[5:3].
Additional Equipment
In addition to a controller and software, you'll need a laptop or tablet to run your DJ software, as well as headphones and speakers to monitor and play your mixes [2:1]
[4:1]. Some users recommend specific models like the HD-25 headset and DM-40D speakers, but any decent quality headphones and speakers should suffice for beginners
[4:2].
Learning and Practice
Finally, practice and skill development are crucial. Many experienced DJs emphasize the importance of honing your listening skills and understanding the functions of your equipment [1:6]. There are plenty of free online resources and tutorials available to help you get started and improve your skills over time
[3:5].
I've been a big fan of listening to EDM music and going to raves for awhile now. I've been wanting to get into DJing, and now I feel committed to the part. I want to be sure I'm buying adequate equipment to start off, but the vast amount of information online has been causing some analysis paralysis for myself.
For some context, I think I would like to DJ more bass heavy tracks such as dubstep (my favorite EDM genre), but I am open to DJing other genres such as house and hardstyle as well.
Can anyone point me towards the right direction when it comes to purchasing some affordable but solid equipment (controllers, speakers, etc.) that would help me get started? Thank you!!
You can get started for nothing with mixxx and a few tutorials.
Then you’ll want to buy a controller. One with a built in sound interface like ddj-flx4 and Rekordbox or NI traktor or just keep using mixxx and something super beginner (and a bit like a toy) like a numark partymix. They sell bundles that come with speakers and headphones.
I'll checkout mixxx thanks!
I went on fb marketplace and search “DJ controller” then I bought the cheapest one I could find. The thing was almost 20 years old but it worked like a charm. If you do some research you can find one that unlocks serato pro so you don’t need to buy anything else.
^this. I feel like beginners can get the cheapest second hand controller ever (as long as it’s functional and compatible, but most are, still have an old 2011 unit somewhere and it still does the job).
Any old Traktor unit is good enough for learning how to beatmatch, eq swap, fade in / out, nudge the jogs, etc.
I believe the older decks train your foundation pretty well
The FLX seem to be popular from Pioneer, if you’re on a budget Numark is the place to look. For speakers I can recommend Pioneer their monitors are pretty solid but on a budget anything that’s a monitor or go old school with high fi amp and passive speakers
The most important of all equipment is your own ears, sharpen that, ones you do that you’ll be able to put your ideas on any deck you just have to know what the functions are
You can DJ with a mouse and keyboard so depends on your budget I would instead think about it like this...
Say for arguments sake that the CDJ-3000 was the best tool for DJing, then the 3000 would be the easiest to DJ with so its actually counter productive to learn on expensive DJ gear. If you can master DJing on cheaper DJ gear then you can actually DJ on anything which is a much better skill in the long term.
I would instead think backwards from the DJ software you plan to use...
Recordbox, Serato or Traktor (and yes there is mixx)
Try all three see which one you like the best and by a cheap used controller and practice.
Hi, I'd like to get started in the world of DJ, but I'm completely unfamiliar with the subject. I'd like you to recommend some equipment for beginners (mainly a controller). The brand doesn't matter; as long as it's functional for beginners and of good quality, it's fine. What do you recommend I buy?
My budget is about $1500 Canadian dollars
What kind of music do you plan on playing ? I started with a controller and not even a month later i just bight a mixer and turntables because they are much funner (for me)
Agreed. They do seem more fun. The flip side is that they are heavy and warp in the heat, something to watch out for
What’s the recommendation on some good turntables? I’m sure a lot has changed since the 1200s, especially for the digital age, so this is something I might look into
Since I’m trying to go down the turntablism route, most people recommended the technics 1200s still or reloop rp7000.I just started last year and ended up buying a pair of reloop rp8000 mk2 since they have the extra midi functions. I didn’t want to deal with buying used electronics of random people on marketplace . The pioneer crss12 look good too but also a lot more pricey.
Reloop rp7000mk2
Depends on your budget, but the pioneer Pioneer DJ DDJ‑FLX4 is highly rated and perfect for beginners. It’s around £300 and includes access to rekordbox, which is pioneers DJ software.
You’ll also need a laptop or mobile/ipad, speakers, headphones and usb cable.
Often you can buy as a package, like this https://www.djdeals.co.uk/ddj-flx4-dm-40d-package (laptop, mobile, iPad not included).
Some other cheaper controllers …
Hercules DJControl Inpulse 300 MK2
Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX
Pioneer DDJ-200
But if DJ’ing becomes something you enjoy and want to grow into, you may well regret not going with the FLX4 as others don’t have the same spec and ability.
Edit - if you want to get started quickly with minimal fuss or expense, I recommend Algoriddim djay, which works great on iOS and is compatible with the FLX4. I already knew how to mix vinyl on turntables, but I learnt to mix digitally using Djay on an iPhone. In fact, I still use it now every so often just to play around and become more familiar with my tracks.
Thank you very much for your recommendation, I really appreciate it. In addition, my budget is at least $1,500 Canadian dollars.
If you are certain you want to stick with it and invest right off the bat, FLX10 is the amazing big brother of FLX4. But flx4 is fantastic for starting so you can decide if you want to upgrade down the line.
I started with just a USB 14 years ago .
FINALLY someone asks this question.
People gather information in different ways, many people that end up here are new to reddit as well. We want people to feel comfortable asking questions here in this subreddit for beginners. If you don’t like this please feel free to move on.
Flex4. it just gets asked here 5 times a day
FLX-4, all the info you need is in the wiki of the sub.
I'm wanting to learn how to DJ. Have not tried/ done before. Any suggestions on what I need to get set up ? Thank you 🎶
Pioneer Dj flx 4 Controller and Rekordbox or Serato software is all you need tbh.
Flx4 with rekordbox, not serato lite. Serato lite is far more limited than what the flx4 unlocks in rekordbox
Get yourself a DJ Controll Mix Ultra. Easy integration with Virtual DJ. I just programmed mine so I could play 4 decks. Took me a little to properly understand the programing parameters, but she's running smooth as can be
Flx 4. Laptop. Serato light.
This. fLX 4 has enough to get you started. There is a ton of free online content and I think serato (and maybe rekordbox?) come free with it? Figure out if you like it and if you don’t sell it used and it’s sure to get sold.
If you decide to go for the flx4 it has a hardware unlock on recordbox so you can use that instead youll have all the features without paying as long as your flx4 is connected to your laptop you want to run it on
Score a pair of CDJ 800mk2s off of eBay for cheap and any decent 2 channel mixer of choice and you'll be 1000% set, if you can learn this you can DJ anywhere on anything. This really is a beautiful time for how cheap you can get these decks nowadays, back when I started a cdj800mk2 was 800$ no negotiations, now I see pairs selling for like 200$, if I could have scored a pair of those in my infancy era vs the shitty numark CDJs I opted with instead (still 350 a piece so still was expensive) it would have made a world of difference learning on the industry standard kit
As someone who had a pair of those and now does digital DJing with a FLX10, someone is way better off starting with a controller vs relatively old, non usb accepting CDJS. don't get me wrong, they're great, but I'd never go back to a fully analog system now.
You can find a pair of working condition cdj800mk2s for like 200-250$ if you're patient and keep an eye out, that's absolutely insane considering they were every bit of 800$ a deck for the entire 10+years I was DJing seriously. If someone has a desire to "mix like they did in the 90's" then this is about the most economical and practical way to achieve this, a controller or digital media enabled CDJs will always be one or more steps removed from the "flipping through physical music library, selecting physical media to play, beatmatching said music with nothing more than your headphones/ears, cue/play button and pitch slider/etc, rinse/repeat ad-infinium" "like they did in the 90's". Idk, technics 1200s would cost about 4-8x the cost of a pair of used 800mk2s, plus building a record collection takes time, money, and taste, a stack of 100 writable CDs is like 20$ or whatever, and will enable someone to turn a digital music collection they already own into a physical format they can then DJ with, that to me is the essence of "how they mixed in the 90's" more than anything else.
Hey yall, I’m newly(ish) retired and looking to finally get into DJing even just as a hobby. I’m kind of overloaded on what all software and hardware I need to get started on an entry level because there’s a lot of information. Can anybody recommend like a “starter pack” for me? TIA!
I love these because this is how I like to think. I've documented my recommended "starter pack" once I started getting into the hobby a couple months ago. Based on my experience, this is what I recommend:
Hardware:
- Device to run DJ software: laptop is recommended, but you can technically use a phone or tablet as well
- DJ controller: DDJ-FLX4, it's the gold standard when it comes to beginner DJ controllers
- Speakers: DM-40D, you can probably find better speakers, but these are decent at what they do
- Headphones: HDJ-CUE1, again you can use headphones you already have, but these are the ones I have
Software:
- DJ software: rekordbox, you can go Serato but the FLX4 was designed with rekordbox in mind
- Music software: Apple Music, best streaming service to DJ with as the catalog is huge
Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 controller comes with Rekordbox dj software, the industry standard for EDM. Then you just need headphones and speakers to hear the music. Last thing you need is a laptop to run Rekordbox.
Check out the sidebar/about page of this sub as there are heaps of links tips and (important for you) reviews of controllers and more. The truth is it for really matter what software and hardware you start with but get the best one that you can comfortably afford. They all come with software. They all do the same things in pretty much the same way and the basics are all in pretty much the same place.
sick totally missed that i’m on mobile, I’ll for sure do a deep dive on that later thanks!!
No worries, I mostly do mobile too.
Basic as hell:
Software: RekordBox
Hardware: DDJ-FLX4, a laptop.
Misc: HD-25 headset, a decent USB-flashdrive/Plug-in harddrive to store your collection and being able to have it on the go.
So I’m 19 and I’ve recently been thinking about getting into DJing, but I’m not sure which controller I should look into buying. In fact, I have no clue in terms of what equipment I need to start DJing at all. I was thinking of doing it more as a hobby (currently) as I am primarily a techno fan and not too many clubs or venues have techno events aside from the underground scene. Anyways, these are probably dumb questions but
Which controller would you recommend buying for a beginner (price range $300-$350 CAD)
I have a movie room with a subwoofer and surround sound speakers, so would I need to buy the monitors, or would I be able to plug it into the receiver of all the speakers in the room?
Thanks! :)
Ddj 400 is the best for learning and your price range I would say
I second this about the DDJ-400. I chose it over other similarly priced controllers because it is a Rekordbox controller.
In all fairness, I purchased mine after a couple years DJing (having learned on my roommate's XDJ-RX), and already had played a few gigs. So I specifically wanted a Rekordbox controller so I could prepare my sets (cue points and all) AND practice them using one unified interface with which I was already familiar. I think a Serato controller is fine if you plan to always play on a controller, but if you plan to play out some day, chances are you'll be playing on Pioneer equipment and need Rekordbox-analyzed tracks.
I feel like the DDJ-400 is good for beginners but is feature-packed enough that you will still get a lot out of it even when you're seasoned.
Was looking at that one and the SB3. Is there any difference other than serato/rekordbox?
I prefer rekordbox but only because I am very familiar with it now and rekordbox generally pairs well with pioneer anyway, but I reckon rekordbox is the way to go anyway, very smooth software
I prefer the Numark Platinum FX for the Paddle FX controls and the jogwheel screens display track information. Use Serato lite for free or you can buy a upgrade to Serato Pro if you like. Hercules Inpulse 500 has an additional input which is really useful to connect a phone or tablet as a backup source at a party or event. You can use either the Djuced software or Serato Lite for free with the inpulse 500 or buy a upgrade to Serato Pro if you. I personally use Serato Pro and really love this software as it has worked well with my DVS set up with my turntables and i have used it with multiple other DJ setups and controllers as well.
Perfect! Didn’t want to spend money where I could be spending it on tracks 😁 thanks!
When you do make sure the receiver is in stereo mode as the digital processing of surround sound will cause a slight delay of the sound which makes mixing difficult.
So I wrote a beginners post here. Covers controllers and other items.
I think the best controllers at your price range are the Pioneer DDJ-400, the Numark Platinum FX, and the Hercules DJControl Inpulse 500. IMO, these three are relatively interchangeable. In most of the online reviews I've read or watched, these three all score at or near the top of the list.
Honestly, the differentiating factors come down to forward compatibility and software. If you want to progress beyond a bedroom DJ, then go with Pioneer, as their gear is fairly pervasive. It will allow you to get familiar with the layout of club gear so as you move into that scene it will be an easy transition. From the software perspective, Pioneer and Hercules have their own proprietary software for their devices, but all of them will work with Serato (as well as Virtual DJ and Mixx).
Personally, I won't likely move beyond a bedroom DJ, so going down the Pioneer route wasn't a must for me. I ended up with an Inpulse 500 as it scored the best in the online reviews I saw, plus I found a really good deal on a lightly used one on Kijiji (like, the plastic film was still on it!)
At a basic level, what you'll need is a controller, a computer, and a pair of headphones. Anything beyond that is extra
Hi, I've been looking into djing but I'm really unsure on where to start or what my budget/set up should really look like to start with. I don't have anything currently but I'd like to start sooner due to the free time I've been getting. Any advice?
From one beginner to another, I would say a good controller to get would be Pioneer DDJ-FLX4. I’ve gotten a chance to play with it for a week and I already feel like an expert and I’m glad I bought that over a much smaller one like a Numark DJ2GO. My cousin actually talked me out of getting that and advised to get the FLX4 because of how its a good entry level controller with cool features. It also gives you Rekordbox included all for 299. Besides a controller, what other gear do you already own like a laptop?
You don't even need to spend that to learn.
If you hunt around eBay you can find old controllers with all the basic functions for under $50. Install Mixxx and you have a perfectly reasonable budget setup.
From there you can decide if you want to go pioneer or whatever but you can definitely get started for a lot less than $300 if you're willing to spend some time researching and learning.
i currently just have a laptop, i dont really own anything else when it comes to music right now.
If you can afford the flx4 then get that or get a ddj400 if you can find one cheap.
I have a ddj200 I bought just to play at random places with a phone and a speaker but it’s a bit too small to learn well off.
I’m learning off an xdj rr that my friend let me borrow but they are quite expensive. Im about to pick up a used ddj 400 myself to practice on when I’m travelling. It seems to be a solid choice from what I’ve read online.
As a beginner myself, I second this. I do not yet have this controller, but will be ordering one in a couple of days. It seems to be the popular choice right now.
It’s 400 USD in Australia. Wish we had it for 299 too.
Our currency is worth less so you're paying similar
I'd say, start small. Download some DJ software (Mixxx, Djay Pro, Rekordbox, Serato, ..) and see what you like. Have a bit of fun, you can do all this for free/cheap on a laptop just fine.
See which features you're using more, that'll really indicate what features you want on a controller. Buy the controller which makes whatever you're doing easier.
Hey there. Coming from a beginner, I’ve started off with a laptop which I know you have and a ddj400. I use the free version of rekordbox, and a Soundcloud to mp3 converter for my music, from there all else that I have is a set of cheap Behringer BH470 headphones that came with my decks that I bought second hand. This has been well enough to get me started off, any more questions feel free to ask man 🤙🏽
Don't break the bank, a DDJ-400 will do just fine. Spend your money on music.
Kind of hard to find 400s since they got discontinued. I've found a couple online here in Australia and they've all been wildly overpriced because they were essentially a limited edition product...
FLX4 is great for learning how mixing works and what all the features are, plus it unlocks all the features of the rekordbox app. My only issue with it is how small and plasticy it can feel, as it feels vastly different to any gear I play on at clubs. But to learn how to DJ with the basics of the jog wheel and EQs, it's great!
A laptop
Time
Music
Virtual DJ.
A controller if u want
Hi I'm trying to get into DJing and I really want to be able to not only do mixes but also remixes and flips where I use different drums from the original track. What type of gear would I need to do this on a budget of around 800 dollars. Forgive me if anything I said sounds stupid but I hope you guys get the idea. Thanks
4 channel pioneer DDJ controller. If you buy used then you might get a pretty descent unit.
Start mixing, learn and understand how tracks and songs are built. From one channel you can play one track, from other channel you can bring in other track.
But The mixing part isn't just playing next track smoothly. With EQ, looping, sampling, stems, effects and just combining the right tracks you can mix vocals from one track, bass kick from another and maybe high hats from a third track. That's why it's nice to have 4 channel controller, you can mix 4 tracks at the samme time, like building a new track live on spot.
But as always, it takes practice, time and right choice of tracks. Not all tracks mix well together. Should start from basic tutorial clips from YouTube.
As for remixes that you would like to release there are programs called DAWs . Ableton Live and Fruity Loops are the biggest but there are many more, some DAWs are preferred for hip hop, some for live music, some for EDM.
You take your track that you want to remix, bring it to your preferred DAW, remove the parts you want to remove, add the parts you want to add, change the parts you want to change.
This will take a lot more time than learning to mix on decks. A lot more options...no , not options ....it's more like endless possibilities.
Before mixing and making your own remixes You should learn at least basic music theory, how tracks and songs are structured, how different genres are made and what not. Thankfully there is a lot of free materials on the internets. There are also paid courses, but personally I think the free stuff is plenty enough.
Your on about layering which is mainly techno
i have 15 years of experience on guitar so my theory is p decent (def need to brush up on it tho) but thanks for an actual helpful answer i really appreciate it
It really depends on the genre you play and the software ecosystem you want to commit to. I play techno and do a lot of layering across four channels, so my setup is built specifically around that workflow.
If you're open to Traktor, I highly recommend exploring their modular gear. A Z1 MK2 combined with two X1 MK3s offers a powerful and versatile setup that's compact yet expandable. Add a Traktor Kontrol F1 controller and you can use samples and remix decks.
The X1s can also be connected directly to high-end mixers commonly found in clubs, like the Xone:96 or DJM-A9, giving you the flexibility to adapt to professional environments without changing your core setup.
If you're into Pioneer, i'd suggest the GRV6 - afaik it supports stems and has remix features. Also has jog wheels if you're into scratching.
New update for traktor allows you to run two z1 mk2s together as a 4channel mixer. Really fucking cool.
Also, an s4 mk3 controller would do op well, too. I love mine
GRV6 sounds like a plan. It has it's own drum swap feature, but also has decent sized jogs and your standard club layout. Worth a look along with the REV5 and FLX10. Check out YT reviews of them and see what you think would suit best.
Ableton Live and an APC40 mk2.
Grv6 Dope. You will surely grow in your dj skills.
As someone just starting out with DJing, which setup would be the best investment for a beginner looking for a user-friendly interface?
You have a great selection of gear take a look a this review of gear that won’t break the bank either
Depends on your budget and what software you want to use.
The default answer nowadays seems to be: Pioneer FLX-4
Novation launchpad mini. It’s around $130. You get ableton live and access to a ton of midi instruments, sounds, etc.
This sub’s wiki answers all the most commonly asked questions in detail.
Check out the controllers from Pioneer good quality and download rekordbox and have a play. If the budget is higher bigger controllers like FLX10 might be decent or if you really want to chuck the fish look at CDJs, Vinyl setup with DVS or the XDJ AZ
Hey guys i would like to get into djing but i am not sure which equipment i need. I know from research that i need a dj controller (which is also the central part of the gear) headphones and speakers. I want to spend as little money as possible. I want a good controller as it is the most important tool from my understanding. I took a look at sub 200 euro controllers like hercules inpulse 300 and sub 300 euro like inpulse 500 or DDJ-REV1. What is the big difference between these sub 200 and sub 300 euro controllers, does it even make a big difference for someone who is just starting out. Also for the speakers and headphones, i want them as cheap as possible since i am only going to make music in my appartment for now so i dont want to spend much money on that for the time being. It would really mean a lot if someone could explain and give some good tips on what equipment to get.
Honestly, go Hercules Inpulse 500 or Pioneer DDJ-FLX4. Greatest amount of features and functionality in those two controllers without going to the next level (which would be the FLX6 or FLX10)
I'd go with a used Traktor S#. Replace the # with whatever's available on ebay or your local FB Marketplace.
I got an S4 that was mostly broken for $60 and an S2 that was perfect and smelled like cigarettes for $40.
You'll have to purchase the software most likely.
what about speakers and headphones? Like i said i would just need it for home i am not really planing to perform at parties for the time being, so it should be something that has quality enough for just that.
Make sure you have a decent laptop to pair with whichever controller you decide to go with. Most the beginning controllers are pretty similar in what they can do. I'd say watch a couple reviews of the ones you are considering and see which fits you best. Mojax on DJ City does excellent reviews. I never buy anything without seeing what he has to say first.
what about speakers and headphones?
I tend to go with Audio Technica MX50s for headphones. And as far as speakers go it really depends on what you are wanting out of them. A simple set of studio monitors will probably do you just fine for practice. If you plan on using them outside of home practice you should get some pro audio gear. The brands I use a lot are Alto, QSC, Turbosound, JBL and RCF.
What type of music would you like to play? What do you like to listen to?
i listen to pretty much everything but mostly rap. I would like to learn to DJ and then maybe i would get into music producing. My favorite DJ/music producer in the electro world right now is ZHU, but also love the classic EDM legends like Hardwell, Van Buuren, Vegas and Mike.. you name it.
Hi everybody! I’m thinking of buying a very cheap dj controller set, around 100 $. I have no intention to be a pro, I never used any controllers in my life, I just want a new hobby, and I decided to try it. It would be great to make some music during house parties or on gatherings with my friends, so really nothing fancy plans.
What do you recommend for me? Which device, or what should I look for when I’m buying one? Could you recommend any good YouTube tutorials or channels as well?
Thank you for your help. :)
>Hi everybody! I’m thinking of buying a very cheap dj controller set, around 100 $
i don't think there's anything worthwile in that budget unless you look at the second hand market and even then it might be too little.
yep, I’m looking for a second hand one
Try to squeeze a little your budget and go for something that has an integrated soundcard. DDJ-400 vs DDJ-200 for example, that alone will make a world of difference when configuring the software, avoiding unnecessary delays between monitor and main out, etc... Your experience will be orders of magnitude better
No one everrrrr intends to be a pro until they play their first set to a d floor of 7 people at their mates shit party. Feeling pure euphoria in that moment - they truly then believe.......They CAN be pro
That’s exactly what I did I bought my first ever DJ Controller in 2019 which was a Numark Party Mix MK1 didn’t even think about doing gigs at that time just wanted to achieve my childhood dream of being able to DJ and now this Friday I’m playing in the second biggest room at Ministry Of Sound with a childhood music inspiration as the headliner (Benny Benassi) this guy just needs to put in the hard work and get to it 🙂
I did a whole 3hrs set for my 18th b-day àd all my friand were dancing and Not even drinking ! I asked them after if they enjoeyed my mix and they were very positive and told me that the party was awesome ! So im proud of myself now about Dj-ing in front of people And I know this feeling of PURE JOY !!!!
actually I found a used Numark Mixtrack Pro II, only for 80$. what are your thoughts? is it possible to use it with a 2017 macbook air?
and thank you so much for the replies!
This is a solid setup for beginner
I've used a Macbook Pro from 2012 and it worked fine. Battery would drain in 90 minutes.
Perfect
Those cheapy dj2go numark things might be the only thing that’s in that price range
Are you in Ny.. I have a Numark NV with case that you can buy.. 100$
Best DJ equipment for beginners
Key Considerations for Beginner DJ Equipment:
DJ Controller: Look for a user-friendly DJ controller that integrates well with DJ software. Popular options include:
Software Compatibility: Ensure the controller is compatible with popular DJ software like Serato DJ Lite, Traktor, or Virtual DJ. Many controllers come bundled with software, which is a plus.
Audio Interface: A built-in audio interface is essential for connecting to speakers and headphones. Make sure the controller has good sound quality.
Headphones: Invest in a decent pair of DJ headphones for monitoring. Look for models with good sound isolation and comfort, such as:
Speakers: While you can start with any speakers, consider getting active studio monitors for better sound quality. Options like the KRK Rokit 5 or Yamaha HS5 are great for beginners.
Learning Resources: Look for online tutorials and courses to help you learn the basics of mixing and using your equipment effectively.
Recommendation: Start with the Pioneer DDJ-SB3 paired with Serato DJ Lite for a solid foundation. This setup is beginner-friendly and offers room to grow as you advance your skills. Additionally, invest in good headphones and consider a pair of studio monitors for a complete setup.
