ORIGINAL POST

Trying to get a new game for PlayStation. I tried to play black opps 4 and didn't like it at all. I was thinking about COD WW2, the last of us, battle field or any suggestions anyone has. Please and thank you.

Edit:. Also just any recommendations on best PS4 game to buy right now. Didn't have to be a FPS.

WW2 is a disaster, last of us isn’t an FPS but I highly recommend. Battlefield 5 is alright.

Look up Rainbow six siege, it’s now one of the best FPS games on console

Honestly not huge FPS guy but Destiny 2 really does scratch that itch for me.

The shooting mechanics are awesome the encounters range from super easy to pull your hair out tough. Raids, chase for exotics, daily quests... always something to do and great clans willing to help you grind up.

Yes there is a story and you can technically go way back to Destiny 1 to experience that but honestly as a day 1 player it doesn’t really add much.

DOOM 2016.

Second is R6 Siege (I have played this game since closed beta 10/15 and have over 2000 hours in the game, plat 3-diamond each season since launch, but switched to pc this last March because M&K is so outrageously bad in high levels of play that I can’t in good conscious recommend it fully now).

Hands down Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal. They are both fast paced, badass gameplay focused FPS’s that don’t require you to really be invested in story. Multiplayer wise, I think Apex legends is a great competitive free to play FPS.

My favorite of all time has gotta be metal gear solid V: the phantom pain. Call of duty has nothing on this game. It's more single player oriented though, but it does have an online mode. If your looking for multiplayer I don't really care for them but modern warfare 2 was always the best in the genre, and it's getting rereleased again. Again that's mainly because the campaign was really really good, but it should have co op at least.

They are working, sometimes it can take a few minutes, but usually it’ll be around 2 at most (in my experience) and it sometimes might kick you to the main menu, but you can just go back into matchmaking as soon as you’re into the multiplayer lobby thing

COD Vanguard and Cold War are amazing if you want real fast action. Prefer vanguard myself as that’s the new one. Battlefield 2042 is a bit guff tbh. You might like it if you like long conquest games. But it’s pretty hard to level up and takes a long time to get back to the action after you die, there are no deathmatches. Some of the older battlefield games like bf1, bf4 and bf5 are probably better tbf. And they can all be picked up very cheap right now.

Call of duty Warzone is a free game and also free to play multiplayer. It’s a bit more conquesty with a bit map. Definitely check that out first, if you like the gameplay then you’ll like the other call of duty games too. Start with something like plunder which is going round opening boxes and collecting loot, it’s a lot more forgiving than the battle royale game as you don’t get respawns in that

Vanguard is trash, CoDs have a 12 month life cycle and in 9 months in a game with no recoil infinite range and 3 hit kills they haven't had a meaningful balance patch, it takes them 6 months to patch the most game breaking stuff and as of now in EU every 2 games I have 150ms ping. The game is stone dead.

I second Titanfall 2. The campaign, while simple, is the most fun stuff I’ve ever played. The multiplayer has only 1 problem, and that is loading times are longer than normal multiplayer games. However, I can say without a doubt titanfall 2 is among the best FPS games in history. I’d also argue it’s the best futuristic shooter ever. Seriously, after playing the super refined game, going back to cod bo3 or whatever is impossible.

Hella maps

Crazy movement and gunplay

Actual satisfaction when getting promoted/unlocking new guns and accessories

You can actually get better to a point where no one can kill you and you destroy a whole team by yourself and change the round all alone

No SBMM, if your enemy is better he just is, you gotta learn if you want to become better and you feel like you are becoming better not like other games (COD).

hardline was basically bf4 but police and thieves even had the ruzu in hardline, was a good game tho too much hate

The hate was because it was marketed as a Battlefield game, when it bears almost no resemblance to the series. A mod at best.
Very few weapons, very few vehicles, atrocious UI.

hardline was their last good game when you think about it. bf1 was ok ish for me

Well BF3 had more maps and definitely more weapons, but overall have the same type of satisfaction for progression.

But for arguments sake, BF4 does stand out in modern games.

All other versions of the series are smaller version with fewer weapons and so you get bored so much quicker.

The range of game modes and maps keeps you going for sure

Love the campaign in this game it created moments that current cod is still trying to re-create (unsuccessfully in my opinion). The multiplayer is really solid, and you want find as much hackers as mw2 these days. Finally the zombies gave me the best base zombies map, while giving really good DLC’s. With #49 done its time to go for The Witcher 3.

Most realistic FPS PS4 Game?

Posted by Tribe230920 · in r/PS4 · 3 years ago

As the title says, I'm looking for the most realistic fps games available for the ps4. I used to play America's army a long time ago on PC. I don't like the fast paced typical fps games that you see most the time.

So far, I've heard of Rainbow Six Siege and Insurgency sandstorm.

So I decided to go back to the finals after the XD shutdown and man, this game is so fun, hands down the best fps game to play right now.

I heard some people say the maps are too big, but don't get fooled by that, if you go to the right place and play the obj, you will always find action and chaos (just look at the gameplay)

I highly recommend y'all give it a try

This is probably gonna sound stupid, but after the shutdown, I’ve recently been getting back into Battlefield 2042, haven’t played it since 2024. And I gotta say, I’m really enjoying it. I know it has… issues, but it’s honestly really fun.

It is really fun. It's one of those games that were always pretty good, had some awesome updates, and were still forgotten by the community. Once they reduced the importance of using operators and returned to classes, the game got better & better

Try Battlefield 1.

Looks and plays like it could’ve been released today. And so much more immersive than V or 2042.

Yeah they did a decent job fixing up 2042. The post-launch maps are leaps & bounds better than the launch maps

It's rare to see a dev team actually learn & improve over time

9 upvotes on reddit
TimeZucchini8562 · 3 months ago

I have to disagree on the maps. Sure, they’re better than the launch maps, but they’re still really bad. They still funnel pretty much everyone to generally the same location with no feel of different fights going on at different parts of the map. I’m hoping the new battlefields map design brings that back but I’m not hopeful.

Hey dude you're aware a lot of that's in the finals right?

The main schtick of the finals other than the game modes is the amount of abilities and fear you can customise your character with.

Every gun and ability has camo type skins you can unlock through using them

And they introduced sight swapping like 2 seasons ago

I fully agree with this the game is more about team cooperating, and managing the gadgets you have and well defending the cashout and winning with as much cash as you can. Maybe cos I started this game as light and it dies so fast few shots and dead. Didn't know how big the heavy health bar was so I understood I didn't need to get full kills alone. Also, I play alone most of the time so no team cooperating at all just some random raging at each other.

This is the Best Fps

Posted by Dr_Disturbance · in r/BodycamGame · 2 months ago

Seems like a lot of the content here is fairly negative so I wanted to throw my two cents in.

30$ is definitely a lot, I understand why some people don't wanna pay that for what you get, so I understand a lot of the criticism.

That said, this games been on my radar for a while and I just recently pulled the trigger and picked it up since it was on sale.

I genuinely think it might have ruined other FPS games for me.

The realism of the weapons not just in looks, but in sound and effective range is fantastic.

The maps are mostly really well designed too! Outside of the backrooms one I've always felt valid when I get popped since I knew what mistakes I made.

The dynamics of the flashlights and gunfire in the pitch black making it a risk to try and see your surroundings is such a unique gameplay element.

In general, the game rapidly switches between feeling like an action movie and a horror game and it's become my new addiction.

From a "game design" standpoint, I see the issues people bring up. I have a beefy PC and even struggle to run it occasionally.

I've had a lot of crashes and bugs, definitely more than a lot of other higher budget games.

But I honestly don't care. The map layout is so much more organic and interesting than 90% of the other fps games I've tried.

There's good spots and bad spots, and you gotta constantly check your six or you'll get smoked from behind.

And even when you're getting bodied, since the respawn on deathmatch at least is nearly instant you can just get right back to having a blast.

I love the fact that every weapon can and will kill you nearly instantly if you get caught lacking. Bullet drop off is just silly at most ranges in a game like this so I'm glad you can get long shots with pretty much anything if you're patient enough.

The combination of the high ttk, necessity of situational awareness and rapid respawning comes together to create a frantic, terrifying and exhilarating experience with highs unlike any other fps game I've played.

I don't know where the game is going, but as it is right now I believe it is a masterpiece. There may be jank, the price may be too hard to justify for some, and the style of game might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I genuinely think this game is something special.

I wish the devs the best! If any of you are reading this I'm so excited to see where you guys take this thing moving forward!

Thank you for making this game!

It’s psychotic and it does ruin all other games. It’s what COD was when it first came out in 2004 or whatever. It’s ahead of its time graphically and the fact the gpu’s/system needed to run it are still priced out for a lot of people. Original buyers of the game hate the fact at one time they were able to swing it with 3060’s etc. they added a bunch of little things and now the people can’t play it 😂. They are working on performance but I think it’s all written on code that has to be changed so it’s taking a while. No idea not a dev. The only thing I don’t like is discord has been taken over by weirdo’s. This game makes all others look like cartoons.

If anyone is having issues with older cards and have a decent amount of vram you can try lossless scaling 3.1 👍🏻 it keeps your frames from dropping and I’m still playing with it using a 4080super.

Nice write up except $30 isn’t a lot of money for 2 games. You get multiplayer and zombies. I’d pay $30 just for the multiplayer. That’s the only disagreement I have which doesn’t really matter.

I mean I’m 100% with you, I’d pay the price just for death match on one or two maps lol.

The only reason I mention it is because it seems like a common complaint and a lot of my friends were hesitant to pay that much.

Tbf, they also get steamed when losing games so I imagine it’s a poor fit. I think to really enjoy this one you gotta be open to learning and ok with losing a lot lol.

I know if they got “randomly” headshot peeking a corner they might crash out lol

I’ve actually got a 4080 as well! For whatever reason I can’t tell the difference between framerates above 60 fps, idk if my eyes are just bad or what lol.

I haven’t really experienced much in terms of dropping frames or such, so I’m curious if it’s a pc build thing. I have 128 Gb of DDR5 ram for work, so I wonder if that’s playing a role or if the graphical weirdness just isn’t registering to me lmao

If you turn on your fps on screen in msi AB you will see it go up and down. The lossless scaling keeps me at 117 as that’s what I set it to.
