TL;DR
Performance and Cooling
For those prioritizing raw performance, laptops like the ASUS ROG Strix series, MSI Titan, and Legion Pro 7i/9i are frequently recommended due to their powerful specs and efficient cooling systems [1:3]
[2:1]
[4:1]. However, some users have noted issues with thermal management in certain models, such as the Legion 7i, where the keyboard can get uncomfortably hot
[1:4].
Portability and Battery Life
For gamers who travel often or prefer a lighter setup, the ASUS Zephyrus G14/G16 and Razer Blade 16 are popular choices. The Zephyrus G14 is praised for its portability and battery life, though it may sacrifice some performance compared to larger models [1:1]
[3:1]. The Razer Blade 16 offers a premium build and good performance but might not be as quiet under load
[4:2].
Balanced Options
The Lenovo Legion series, particularly the Legion 5 Pro, is often highlighted for providing a balance between performance, cooling, and affordability [3:1]. It offers excellent cooling and a high refresh rate display, making it a solid choice for gamers looking for good value without compromising on essential features.
Durability and Build Quality
Durability and build quality are important considerations for many users. Laptops like the Alienware x16 and Acer Predator Helios 16 are mentioned for their robust construction [4:4], while the Legion series is noted for its understated design that appeals to those who prefer less flashy aesthetics
[4:1].
Noise Considerations
Fan noise is a common issue in gaming laptops, especially when running at maximum performance. While all gaming laptops will produce some level of noise, Alienware laptops are recommended for their low-frequency fan noise, which is easier to manage with active noise-canceling headphones [5:4].
Additional Considerations
When choosing a gaming laptop, consider factors such as screen size, resolution, and whether you need features like an OLED display or mini-LED technology. It's also important to think about your budget and specific gaming needs, as there is no one-size-fits-all solution [5:1]
[5:6].
I am looking for the BEST and fastest high-end gaming laptop out there right now. I know it's a subjective ask but, lets here what you 've got!
I second the guy that says there is no one best laptop. For best performance get strix or titan or something, but at that point just get a desktop. For portability and travel, the Zephyrus G16 2024 is insanely good for battery and lightweight, at the cost of being less powerful than others with the same GPU
The g16 still has weird performance issues where during gaming the cpu will draw like 60 watts and gpu like 50 and you get crappy frame rate then the cpu draws 40 watts amd gpu 80+ and you get better framerate.
Unless you don t have to travel daily with your laptop in your backpack , which is not the case with the majority of people who buy laptops , and you only have to travel once a week or something like that there s literally very small difference between a 16 inch 4090 laptop and a 18 inch 4090 strix . I don t understand those men , it is really that hard to carry another 1kg in your backpack for the cost of a major performance improvement , much better thermals and bigger and better screen ?
The laptop that best meets your needs.
Possibly the Legion Pro 7i/Legion 9i, externally water cooled XMG Neo 16 E24/Eluktronics Hydrox-16 or similar, Strix Scar 16/17/17X3D etc.
I have the legion 7i and I just don't like how hot the keyboard gets, not sure if all the legions do that, but the 7i sure does. I have the strix g18 to try and that is cool to the touch no matter how long you play.
There isn't one that has it all. You have to decide what things are important to you, and which ones not so much. Like: build quality, screen type, speakers, raw performance, thermals, fan noise, support, etc.
What are YOU using and why?
Most recently... The 2024 Asus Zephyrus G16, because it has the best screen and speakers I've ever seen / heard on a gaming laptop, pretty good battery life, and it's super thin and light. But the caveats are it get's hot and the performance is not as good as something bigger / thicker.
Then also the 2024 Legion 7 Pro, doesn't have anything as nice looking / sounding as the G16 but it's raw performance is better and the thermal system keeps temps in check much better. It's also a much easier hassle-free experience out of the box, only had to delete the anti-virus crap and it was good to go.
Then also my 2 Macbooks that I use for everything except gaming, they just have everything better, there's no comparison.
Check out my Razerblade subreddit, have articles in there and game play. No brainer- don’t get an off center keyboard lol
As powerful as you want, they’re all similar except for their GPU
Legion 9i
Im shopping for a new laptop which can handle diablo 4, create deepfake/ai... basically going for the most powerful laptop available. I do travel but usually stay put for 2-3 months so size/weight is not an issue.
No budget, what are your favorites/dream laptop?
I’ve been using a Lenevo Legion Pro 7i every single day since I purchased it. It’s very powerful. I use FL Studio to make music, Sony Vegas Pro to edit videos, and I play games like Apex Legends, Gundam Evolution, and more on pretty much the highest settings.
Came here to check the recommendation and now I am sad. RIP Gundam Evo
I use my laptop to work from home and for gaming, so I wanted something that was powerful but not as ‘tacky’ as most gaming laptops. After a bunch of research I ended up with the Legion Pro 7i.
Not gonna lie, super impressed with this laptop! It has everything I was looking for & more than what I even realized.

I'm a total noob and wanna start playing, what's the best gaming laptop? I dont want to have to buy another one in a couple of years when I move up to games with high graphics requirements. Please don't judge. 😅
I got a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i laptop three months ago, and it’s a solid machine for gaming, image editing, and for having hundreds of tabs open like the monster I am.
It’s extremely responsive and loads insanely quickly. It runs Star citizen well (whenever the servers are having a good day), and halo infinite runs maxed out at over 70+ fps most of the time. But what got me to write this is that it’s built to last. I'll admit, I'm rough on my machines and this laptop’s metal body is doing great with my rough handling.
Which one exactly?
I recently got my hands on the ASUS ROG Strix G16, and I must say, I'm pretty impressed. I've played a few heavy-duty games on it, and it handled them with ease.
You'll want something with a powerful graphics card, like an NVIDIA RTX 3070 or higher, and a CPU that can keep up, such as the latest AMD Ryzen or Intel Core i7/i9 processors. At least 16GB of RAM is advisable, but 32GB is even better for future-proofing.
A budget would be helpful, amigo.
Hey daramme! No judgment here, we all start somewhere! For a future-proof gaming laptop, consider the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15. It packs a punch with an AMD Ryzen 9 processor, NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD. Here are some performance benchmark scores to give you an idea:
These scores indicate top-tier performance that will handle high graphics requirements for years to come.
what is your fovourite laptop?

You're amazing
For the best gaming laptop overall, ASUS Zephyrus G14 and Razer Blade 16 are best for those with a high budget. The Zephyrus G14 is praised for its portability, battery life, and performance, while the Razer Blade 16 offers a premium build and powerful specs.
Another strong contender is the Lenovo Legion series, particularly the Legion 5 Pro. It is often highlighted for its excellent cooling, high refresh rate display, and solid gaming performance at a more affordable price point compared to competitors.
Now I'm currently searching for the best gaming laptop that offers powerful performance, a high refresh rate display, and good cooling efficiency. I want something that can handle the latest games smoothly while also being durable and well-built.
I've come across several options during my research, but I’d love to hear about your personal experiences and recommendations. Some options I’ve been considering include:
If you have any personal favorites or additional insights on these gaming laptops or others that might be better for performance, display quality, or portability, please share!
Definitely not the Zephyrus for cooling efficiency. It has great quality but the physics of the thin small chassis doesnt allow it to have good cooling or quiet fans
The Legion Pro 7i has everything you want.
Acer Predator Helios 16💯
Anything under 16 inches isn't a gaming laptop, you can't tell apart s*** on a 14 inch. You might aswell get a tablet
Based on your criteria:
Maybe a Legion 9 Pro. Although I haven't seen one announced for 2025 - they might be merging the 7 Pro and 9 Pro.
But different laptops suit different needs. The Legion 7 Pro with 50 series CPU has an OLED screen. It doesn't have: A mini-LED screen, a 4k screen, an 18 inch screen, nor outright highest performance (probably). It's also not small or compact, and doesn't have the greatest battery life. Looks are subjective, but Legions are fairly bland (which can be a good thing).
There's no 1 best gaming laptop overall because of different design goals and advantages.
Ok so I want to get my girl a gaming laptop but the last gaming laptop I got had start-up issues and sounded like an airplane taking off whenever I used the super fan which was almost always needed. So I want a compact silent strong gaming laptop. I'm willing to cave a bit on batter life doesnt need to have a long battery life if the other things are good.
When gaming no laptop will be quiet.
Check out my post here. The thing is, you don’t need max performance most of the time. If you have powerful enough CPU and GPU, you can pretty much use a fraction of their power to consistently deliver a good experience. After realizing that, I no longer think that I have to use their full potential and just be chill about it.
What's your budget and country?(this might change the whole suggestion)
I would suggest:
Asus g14 with 5070ti, OLED screen, nice speakers, good performance, a bit on the expensive side.
Lenovo 7i pro with 5070ti or 5080 (if you can find a good deal), again beautiful OLED screen (a bit glossy), not as compact as the G14, but will give you the bang for your buck.
You can consider the 5i pro with 5070ti as well (I have this one, no regrets till now), if you have a little less budget. (speakers are mid on this one, but I use headphones)
I can suggest more from Asus and HP, but it totally depends on how much budget you have.
All gaming laptops have loud fans at max performance it's the trade off for portability.
A good pair of active noise cancelling headphones will make a huge difference.
But keep in mind that the kind of fan noise (sound spectrum) matters because ANC headphones are better at blocking low frequency sound. So, if you buy a laptop with high frequency fan noise at high decibels the headphones might not help enough. In this regard I can strongly recommend Alienware gaming laptops their fan noise can get loud like all others but the sound is low frequency so easy for ANC headphones to block out. I use Bose QC45 for gaming and it nearly eliminates fan noise from my Alienware M18R2 even at max spin I never even think about it.
almost all laptops will have loud fan noise if you want to max out their performance. You can set them on a silent or custom fan curve but that will make performance SIGNIFICANTLY worse.
By compact, do you mean thin and light? Or do you mean smaller 14 inch screen, instead of 16?
Like other guy said, provide budget.
> So I want a compact silent strong gaming laptop.
entirely depends on your currency, budget and region, which you haven't mentioned. silent and compact are words that don't really apply to a lot of gaming laptops. same with good battery life, but you've already compromised with that anyways.
what games does she like to play? what kind of performance does she want? what settings does she play at?
you don't even have to give all the answers just riugh guesses and the games she plays.
there is no "best" just whatever suits your budget the best. their will always be some form of compromise.
what is the best gaming laptop brand? im planning to buy so can you help me?
My wife and I have had an Asus Nitro for almost a decade now and while it DEFINITELY has an issue here and there (couple of cracks in the plastic [my fault] and needs a replacement battery) it never got hot or bogged down, even when running programs that were most certainly way beyond its specs. I'd just avoid anything by Razer. I love their peripherals, but their laptops are notorious for failing in ridiculous ways and not sending parts to even repair shops for simple fixes. Asus, ROG, and Lenovo are probably best bet!
levono legion is great for the price, the asus g14 is also an amazing laptop with terrible battery life
Asus rog zephyrus g16
You got the money if go for a framework 16 they got a 5070 and you can pretty much customize anything
There’s not one best laptop brand. But I will recommend Lenovo or ASUS as that’s what I find best personally, but that’s my opinion.
Hey r/newproducts, been digging through reviews, specs, and way too many reddit threads lately trying to find the perfect gaming laptop, figured i’d drop what i found in case anyone else’s in the same boat. I may earn an Affiliate Commission if you buy through links here.
after doing research i found these gaming laptops to be the best currently:
if you’re looking for raw power, big screen, and future-proof specs, the ASUS ROG Strix G18 is an absolute beast. crazy smooth performance and handles AAA games like nothing. it’s big tho, so not the most portable.
the MSI Katana 15 surprised me tbh: more budget-friendly, but still solid 1080p gaming. not flashy, but if you’re not trying to spend 2k+, it’s a reliable pick.
and then there’s the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16: probably the most balanced of the three. it’s light, powerful, and has that sleek design that actually looks professional. great choice if you game and take it to work or class.
all three have RTX 40-series cards, great thermals, and high refresh screens. depends on whether you want max power, portability, or value. #amazon
g16 display build = elite combo
this helped me justify my g16 purchase
Incomplete lost considering Lenovo legion pro series aren't on there.
So I have a laptop that isn't the best for gaming, like at all (this thing's from 2008, literally a fossil 😭) and I'd like to know from you guys about which brand makes the best gaming laptops and which specific gaming laptop you would recommend. Please keep it cheap. Thanks!
I'd definitely look at Lenovo and Asus gaming laptops but recommendations really depend on what you specifically want from a gaming laptop e.g. battery life, screen size, how heavy/light you want the laptop to be etc.
The Omen Max 16 series is Preary nice for me. I have a 5080 and it works like a dream.
Feel free to ask for a specific recommendation, just provide your budget, region, what you want to do and what your priorities are (do you need good battery life? what games do you want to play? etc)
Check out Lenovo legion with Rtx 5060 around 1400eur. U Will play anything on this. Get atleast 24 ram and fir procesor pick cheaper z tho on ryzens u will get way better battery
This sub will probably overwhelmingly recommend Lenovo and Asus (for good reason).
I’d chuck Alienware in as well if it’s the Aurora series.
Personally I have a Razer Blade and it’s great (although some would disagree) but it’s hard to recommend unless you find a good deal on one because they’re relatively expensive.
What is the best actual model depends on your budget and your specific requirements, but the Lenovo Legions are good all-rounders and the Asus ROG Zephyrus is good if you want something slimmer and “premium” feeling.
Check out gaminglaptop.deals for some inspiration, it’s usually a good place to start!
If price is not a problem
If by best you mean strictly the highest performing laptop it's the Alienware M51 R2, and there's no competition.
Actually I take that back, I keep forgetting the GT76 has been refreshed, so there is a competitor that's at a similar level as the M51.
There is no "best." It's entirely subjective and based on your use cases, budget, etc.
I just got a new Omen 17, though, and it's the best laptop I've ever owned. I usually don't like HP products, but this thing is pretty sweet.
But there are more powerful, durable, better looking less/ more expensive laptops out there. It all depends on how much you have to spend and what you want out of a machine.
Acer Predator 21x or rather I think it’s still pretty good
Area 51m r2
Smallest, biggest, coolest temps, best screen... So many different variables. The most funkiest concept like would be the Mothership. Desktop replacement would be the AW Area 51R2. Small would be the Asus G14. Innovative would go to the upcoming Zephyrus Duo. Hot enough to ruin your sperm production would go to any Alienware M15 or M17.
Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a new gaming laptop and I'm looking for recommendations on the best models available in 2025. I need something that can handle AAA titles at high settings, has excellent cooling, and offers solid battery life for on-the-go gaming.
Any suggestions on laptops with the best performance, build quality, and features? Price isn't an issue — I just want top-tier performance, high FPS on max settings, and ideally a Mini LED or OLED display.
I'm open to all options, but would love to know what you all think is the best for the price.
Thanks in advance!
Legion 7 for OLED, Scar 16 for Mini-LED for max performance
Blade 16 for OLED if you want max portability and good performance, with budget not presenting an obstacle.
The Zephyrus G16 is solid from a build quality/portability/OLED standpoint, but has the lowest TDP GPU of the bunch so the worst gaming performance for the money.
Lenovo and Asus have great options that are affordable. This post will help you
zephyrus g16 is a pretty good all rounder for portability. performance is good but not as good as chunkier laptops
hp omen max/legion pro 7i too
if you want max performance, something like a gigabyte aorus 16/18 is your best bet
The zephyrus is weaker than the Blade 16 which is nor thicker neither bigger, and yet it costs the same
thickness is the same but the blade has a slightly larger footprint and i guess the performance difference is since the 5090 in the blade has a higher tdp
according to this https://youtu.be/p3b17_zTtXc?si=Trd1qd8Fr6PHr5pW
I'm a noob myself, but based on my lengthy research so far:
Razer Blade 16 for portability and gaming performance. It has a 175w gpu if connected to their cooler. Also oled (if you like that, I'm afraid of burn in).
Scar 18 for performance and upgradability. Miniled screen. It's not really portable, almost full plastic build.
MSI Titan for gaming power and built. The chassis is metal, and the cpu is 95 watts. It has a serious off switch in silent mode. Then the cpu will run on 15 watts. Compared to the silent mode in Scar 18, it is 65 watts cpu. More watts is hotter and noisier.
Asus Zephyrus is very limited in GPU power, only 120 watts. It'll underperform to a full 175 watt rtx 4090. So it isn't worth the money to me.
I would say Legion Pro 7, but I just had to return a Legion 9 for overheating bsod, bad built quality, and other issues. Mine might have been a lemon, but I'm naturally not fond of Lenovo. Although they have very good service.
This is mostly based on my research, ymmv 🙏
The Legion 9 is known to overheat and have BIOS problems, problems that the Legion Pro 7i doesn't have.
I've been told so... after I had one 🫠
I'm sorry i just had to intervene because i've been dealing with their service for 4 months.
Sending the client a step by step documentation on how to do the repair they are supposed to do is not good service for me and their customer care services is really lackluster
I have to admit they also instructed me on what to do 🤷♂️
best gaming laptop
Key Considerations for Choosing the Best Gaming Laptop:
GPU (Graphics Processing Unit): Look for a laptop with a dedicated GPU, such as NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or higher, for optimal gaming performance and graphics quality.
CPU (Central Processing Unit): A powerful CPU is essential for gaming. Aim for at least an Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 processor. For high-end gaming, consider an Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7.
RAM: A minimum of 16GB of RAM is recommended for smooth multitasking and gaming. Some games may benefit from 32GB, especially if you plan to stream or run other applications simultaneously.
Display: A high refresh rate (144Hz or higher) and low response time (1ms) are ideal for a smoother gaming experience. Look for at least a Full HD (1920x1080) resolution, but 1440p or 4K displays are great for high-end gaming.
Storage: SSDs (Solid State Drives) provide faster load times compared to HDDs (Hard Disk Drives). A combination of both (SSD for the OS and key games, HDD for additional storage) is often ideal. Aim for at least 512GB SSD.
Cooling System: Effective cooling is crucial for maintaining performance during long gaming sessions. Look for laptops with good thermal management systems.
Recommendations:
Asus ROG Zephyrus G14: Known for its powerful AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or 6800S GPU, this laptop is lightweight and offers excellent battery life, making it great for gaming on the go.
Razer Blade 15: This laptop combines a sleek design with high-end specs, including Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070/3080 options. It also features a stunning display and solid build quality.
Acer Predator Helios 300: A more budget-friendly option, it offers strong performance with an Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, along with a high refresh rate display, making it a great value for gamers.
When choosing a gaming laptop, consider your specific gaming needs and budget to find the best fit for you!
