TL;DR
Vitamix: The Top Choice
Vitamix is consistently recommended across discussions as the best high-speed blender. Users praise its ability to create smooth textures for smoothies, soups, and sauces [1:1]
[2:1]
[3:1]. It is described as an "indestructible workhorse" that lasts for many years, making it worth the investment despite its higher price tag
[2:5]
[3:6]. The Vitamix 5200 model is particularly highlighted for its reliability and professional-grade performance
[2:5]
[3:6].
Ninja: Budget-Friendly Option
The Ninja blender is often mentioned as a more affordable alternative to Vitamix [4:1]. While some users have had positive experiences with Ninja, noting its durability and efficiency
[4:2], others point out limitations in its blending capabilities compared to Vitamix
[3:3]
[5:4]. The Ninja's sharp blades are likened more to a food processor than a traditional blender, which may affect its ability to create smooth textures
[3:3].
Blendtec: Comparable to Vitamix
Though not as frequently mentioned as Vitamix, Blendtec is noted by some users as being comparable in quality [1:1]. Blendtec blenders are known for their powerful motors and ability to handle tough ingredients, making them another option for those seeking high-performance blending.
Considerations for Purchase
When choosing a blender, consider factors such as price, intended use, and personal preferences. Vitamix is ideal for those who prioritize long-term durability and professional-level performance, while Ninja provides a cost-effective solution for basic blending needs. Additionally, purchasing refurbished models or waiting for sales can make high-end options like Vitamix more accessible [3:5].
Ultimately, your choice should align with your specific needs, whether it's making silky smooth smoothies, crushing ice, or preparing nut butter.
I want a good blender to make very smooth smoothies and smoothie bowls as well as milkshakes just a good well blending blender lol
Vitamix baby $$$. You can get one used for a decent price.
If price isn’t a problem… Vitamix!
Vitamix is expensive, but it will change your life and will last you FOREVER!
Yup! Have had mine now for 13 years and continues to work perfectly!
Vitamix One is way cheaper than other vitamix models and I think it's much more sleek on a countertop.
The main difference is with the Vitamix One you can't heat up soup or grind grains- hardly deal breakers for most people. I have one and it makes silky smooth cashew cream from un soaked cashews in 60 seconds, so it's definitely still got the oomph of a Vitamix.
I have a ninja it's been one of my best investments ever.
I loved my ninja until all the pieces started falling apart. After going through a series of replacement parts I'm done with them. Lasted a few years and was great until then.
Mine broke after a year and a half, the whole motor kind of fell off lol
Vitamix, hands down. Next to a Vitamix a Ninja blends like a Hamilton Beach.
I’ve heard Blendtec is comparable to Vitamix but Vitamix is the only blender of that caliber I’ve tried.
Now I'm currently searching for the best blender for smoothies that is powerful, efficient, and easy to clean. I want something with strong blades, good blending consistency, and durability for making smooth, chunk-free drinks.
I've come across several options during my research, but I’d love to hear about your personal experiences and recommendations. Some options I’ve been considering include:
If you have any personal favorites or additional insights on these smoothie blenders or others that might be better for power, consistency, or ease of use, please share!
Hands down a Vitamix
Vitamix. Love ours. Such a workhorse and makes great smoothies, hummus, soup, etc.
Vitamix. Its worth the money.
Vitamix is an indestructible workhorse and cannot be easier to use, particularly for smoothies.
Agreed. I have the Vitamix 5200 and it’s amazing.
If you’re not in a hurry I’ve seen them massively discounted on Amazon on Prime Day/Black Friday, I got mine for almost half off.
Yes! I could never get them right, and finally caved to try and get my kid to drink them at home. There's no comparison. I've actually made vegetable soup that was Too velvety and smooth, don't ask me how, but I did!
Vitamix so your offspring can have something to inherit
I’m on the hunt for a blender that gives great performance without completely draining my wallet. I need one for smoothies, soups, sauces, and maybe even light food prep tasks like crushing ice or making nut butter. So, what’s the best blender you’ve found in terms of cost and performance? Are the pricier options like Vitamix or Blendtec worth it, or do mid-range options like Ninja provide better value for money?
Got one through my wife’s company as a years of service gift and it’s wonderful. Most of my blending is done through immersion so the little we use the blender or processor it’s been wholly worth it. I couldn’t justify a vitamix price for our usage
The biggest issue with the ninja is that while it calls itself a blender it's a good processor in blenders clothing. The hallmark of a blender is semi dull blades that pull food into a vortex that funnels the food to be chopped and crushed towards the blades facilitating further crushing and shredding.
The ninja has a central column of sharp blades that slice the food and that's it. This is the action of a food processor, it is moderate at best with ice crushing and is not well outfitted for producing nut butters either. It is fine for most people but it's in a different league entirely compared to vitamin or blendtec
They make a Ninja blender as you described, with the semi dull blades at the very bottom. I have one and it’s great.
I have a Vitamix, so that's what I'm used to. My son and I took a cooking class, though, and used a Ninja there, and we learned about what you said from using it. It was not as good for making sauces or soups because it didn't funnel like the Vitamix. It blended very unevenly.
I like the ninja too, but I don't love the blade. I accidentally cut my hand a few times while washing it. That's why I gave up the ninja and bought the vitamix. But I still have the ninja with the food processor and the drink cup that came with it. Still use it.
If you didn’t know, you can wash a blender by putting hot soapy water in it and running it a bit. That whizzes the gunk out of it
I got mine refurbished as well. It came from that store that used to be in outlet malls and was cheaper than Costco. I went through so many blenders before I got my Vitamix.
For those that don't know, Vitamix offers a 30 day trial and if you don't want it, you send it back and they replace everything but the blade.
Vitamix 5200 is the old standby. I’ve had mine for years and worked in plenty of professional kitchens that use them way more than any home cook.
We loathe our Vitamix. It’s noisy, the plastic jug is not dishwasher safe and the blade cannot blend dry goods without swapping to a dedicated dry blade. It is powerful - that’s all.
Solid choice. Love mine. Just made some nut butter last night.
The Vitamix of your choice is the best to buy right now and has been for quite a while, imo.
I'll echo what everyone else is saying....a Vitamix is the way to go. There is no blender like it, not even the ninja, and it will last forever. It is absolutely worth every penny.
Lately saw that lot of people are searching for best blender options on market so i made a research top about best options on market.
Blenders are a kitchen essential for many people. Whether you use them to make smoothies, soups, or sauces, a good blender can help you make quick and easy meals and drinks. But with so many different blenders on the market, it can be hard to know which one to buy.
In this guide, we will review some of the best blenders on the market and help you choose the right one for your needs. We will consider factors such as price, performance, features, and design.
Here are some of the best blenders to buy in 2023:
From my experience I was hesitant about this Ninja blender and it’s durability but oh boy was I wrong , this review is after using it for several months and wow it does work like a a beauty , super resistant and the motor requires little time and effort to work , I believe I’m also saving some money in electricity since it’s so powerful . Great product , 100% recommended
Ninja blender will be best budget option, but Vitamix is better in my opinion, but ofcaurse much expensive also
Hey all, I want to buy a smoothie blender soon but all I will use it for is obviously smoothies and milkshakes, the only ruling is that it's below 700$.
Thanks
In case it wasn’t obvious, vitamix is the correct answer.
I prefer the 7500 since it has less electronic components to fail.
Vitamix
Vitamix is the right answer. It’s what pros use! Plus Costco often has them on sale.
yup Sbux uses em to make Frappucinos, and they blitz ice all day like champions
This Ninja blender is better than Vitamix, i can say it from my experience.I recently had to replace my Vita Mix Blender after 6 years but just couldn't bring myself to pay the $600 + for a new Vita Mix. This is nice but not as good as the Vita Mix. With the Vita Mix I could make a smoothie with eggs (shell and all) spinach and carrots and it was smooth as can be. With this no shells and there are little bits of spinach and carrots. I like the separate small drink capability and gave my food processor away
Which ninja blender?
Vitamix.
Ijust recently purchased this Ninja Smoothie Maker & Nutrient Extractor, and it has quickly become my favorite kitchen gadget. After using it over the weekend, I am genuinely impressed with its performance, ease of use, and efficiency. This sleek silver smoothie maker deserves all the praise it gets!Firstly, the cleaning process is an absolute breeze. As someone who appreciates convenience, the SS101 is a dream come true. With just a simple rinse and wipe, it's as good as new. The detachable parts are dishwasher safe, saving me even more time. No more hassles of scrubbing and soaking after enjoying a delicious smoothie or homemade spread
i am also Ninja fan
We have had a vitamix for 10+ years. Love it
Let me preface this by saying that I have done a lot of research, watched numerous videos comparing various blenders, from the basic nutribullet, to the entire line of vitamix blenders (starting at the ONE all the way up to a3500), and almost everything in between.
While most people agree that you can't go wrong with the vitamix, I'm thinking that it might not be the optimal blender for ME and my circumstances. So I'm asking for your advice.
I don't care about the longevity of the device. While 10 year warranties for vitamix are great, I don't expect to stay in the US for more than a few years at most, and won't be lugging a blender back with me. So a 2-3 year usability lifespan is totally ok for me.
I live alone. I don't actually need 64 oz containers, and think they might actually be worse for smoothies. My smoothies usually range from 20 to 26 oz. So too small containers are disqualified, and too big containers are a negative.
What I do value, though, is that there are no chunks or chewies in the smoothie. I used to have a 300w generic blender back home and it had issues with leafy greens and some other ingredients.
Also super important - a self-clean function. I would make smoothies almost every day, so if I can fill the container with warm water and put some dish soap to clean it, instead of putting it in the dishwasher, that's a huge plus!
tl;dr I'm looking for a blender for one person, who will be using it for smoothies from 20 to 26 oz in size, and "smoothness" is super important to me, as well as the ability to self-clean, while to durability of the device isn't. Which blender would you recommend?
Ninja.
Here’s the thing- it’s not the blender. It’s you. Add liquid to the blender FIRST. Then leafy greens. And blend until totally smooth.
Noooowwwww add your frozen fruit and protein powder and whatever else and blend again.
99.5% of the time people who say they have a shitty blender are also shoving way too much frozen stuff in first, then everything else and liquid last. Which results in a not smooth inconsistent smoothie texture unless you actually have a vitamix
Yup, that's how I always used my old blender, still had chunks here and there...
I actually got a vitamix immersion blender last year, the thing is insane. I use a big mason jar and blend my greens and liquid, then add ingredients as blending. It’s awesome and really easy to use, only thing to wash is the bottom half of the immersion blender and my smoothie glass. I think it was $125 but i had a 20% off coupon from bed bath and beyond- they’re always available online- and it had an awesome warranty too. I also love that it tucks into a drawer so it’s not on my counter all the time
The nutribullet pro might meet all of your needs and can be hand washed. The model i have is 1200W I think and I have absolutely no issues with leafy green chunks in my smoothies. They’re in the low $100 range and the 900W model is like $80?
Hey! Which model do you have? Is it the Nutribullet Pro Plus 1200w? Or the Nutribullet Blend Combo 1200w? I can't make up my mind between the two. It seems like the blend combo utilizes NB's new cups/blade-attachment. Both might be rated at 1200w but I'm sure they blend food a little differently. Can you provide any more comments on your current blender, please?
I got mine a year ago now so it was the Pro 1200W since I have very limited counter/kitchen space and needed something on the smaller side. The one I got came with a 24oz and a 32oz bottle so I’ve been using the 32oz for smoothies/sweet things and the 24oz for savory (garlic, sauce mixing etc) since strong smells like garlic tend to stick around in the container. I use it probably 1-2x a week in the summer and less often in the winter, but the blade is still holding up and no issues with function
Which model? How does it handle leafy greens and frozen fruit?
I have a Nutri Ninja Auto iQ 1000W, and I love it. I haven't tried much in the way of leafy greens in it, but do use it mostly with frozen fruit, which it handles quite well. It's great for quick smoothies, blends directly into a cup.
You'll still feel some fiber and "chew" the raw leafy greens. Recommend blanching to remove that. It makes ice cream from frozen bananas. Frozen fruit is easy except blueberry which you can find skin here and there. It's quite impressive for the price and water with some dish soap will clean it up well.
I think it is called the nutri ninja ... however I think target currently has both that one and the ninja iq one on sale right now. And they always have them on sale Black Friday too
I have a magic bullet (I think that’s what it’s called). It is perfect for one person. I mostly use it for frozen berry and spinach smoothies. I’ve had it for 4 years. It’s small, portable, and affordable. I got mine at target.
Oster personal blenders are like 30 bucks max and are great!
I'm a very picky eater and certain textures bother me. I want to eat more healthy and I believe a blender would help me add variety to my diet by smoothies or purees etc. But I don't want to pay 3 whole paychecks to get one that doesn't smoke after 3 uses.
I got a cheap one a while ago (don't remember the brand). It didn't blend smoothly, there were chunks and seeds, and after 2 months it started smoking.
Any recommendations for a cheap, descent quality blender?
Define cheap? I had several under $75 blenders and they sucked. I didn't want to spend $350++on a vitamix so I got a Ninja BL770 from Amazon. Best blender I've ever had.
very happy with my Ninja BL610, they are under $80 right now - I couldnt immagine a vitamix being 4-5x better
Second the Ninja. And no cheap blender is going to go the distance for what you’ll require of it.
Also, since I'm using it right now...the ninja has 3 levels of blades to cut everything vs a cheap one just the tiny 3/4inch prongs on the bottom. Makes for a much smoother blend.
I'd define cheap as no more than 100$. I'll look into your recommendation, thank you
This Reddit post helped me to make the right choice, and I am very satisfied with it
How many accounts do you have ? Jesus man just get a job
Get a $20 blender and try it, or one from a thrift store. Get to know what you want to make and if you will use it much. We use ours in the summer. An immersion blender in a large glass can work for experimentation too.
For soup a stickblender might be a good starting point. They are inexpensive and do a good job of making smooth soups in the pot.
I have one of the expensive blenders and I love it so I can't help you there.
The Ninja BL660 is the best blender I ever had. It blends everything smoothly and easily, and it's super easy to clean. I highly recommend it
Hello all! I am someone who considers drinking a smoothie as an integral part of my daily routine. I have always gone with the magic bullet as it’s what my dad always used but now I’m wondering why, they hardly ever last a year. My last one just died so as the title says, please give me your best and hardiest alternative! Thanks in advance
If money isn't an issue I'd probably get a Vitamix One. I did win a NutriBullet in a raffle 10 years ago and it's still going strong, though I'm not a fan of the upside down cup design.
NutriBullet is nice, but I personally use the Ninja Nutri Pro. I use it every morning for smoothies, it’s been a year and still works great. Super easy to use and clean, and the to-go cups are very handy. Definitely worth the price.
Shill
I love my vitamix 5200, it purées everything. Edit: missed the single serve part, no experience with those vitamix variations. I don’t know anyone that has owned ninja for very long, but most blenders last for ages. I think at this point it’s all about price point and how well it blends.
That is not a single serve blender......
It is also a single serve blender and it will last a lifetime. It will blend better than anything else and is a great recommendation. If you want a more affordable, but still great value get a ninja.
Oh my bad, I missed that.
ninja has had my support after I picked up a used professional blender- I have truly abused it- the main thing it blends is ice, 10 years and no sings of decreased functionality. A family member picked up the single serve foodi bowl maker and use it for everything from healthy ice cream to margaritas- 1200 watts ... that over 1.5 horsepower.. pretty impressive for a small blender.
Had to choose between the Hamilton Beach, Magic Bullet, and Ninja BN401 for my smoothie game. Hamilton Beach is cute and portable, great for quick blends. Magic Bullet's got a bunch of attachments, but sometimes it can't handle the tough stuff. The Ninja, though? Absolute powerhouse with 1100 watts and comes with those handy 24-oz cups. Ended up going with the Ninja BN401 - it just nails everything from ice-cold drinks to sauces, no sweat.
Nah the Magic Bullet is way better man
I hear you but this is just my opinion
I've been using a Ninja blender, bullet, processor combo from Costco I got about 7 years ago.
Big picture and this is not the concept of BIFL but something to consider. A magic bullet is only roughly $50. Buy another one from Amazon and pay the $4 for a 3 year warranty. When it breaks fill out a form and eventually get your money back or they will send you another one. Some people just want something that works and don't want to deal with that. I understand. For some people costs factor in and to potentially double your life of a unit you are otherwise happy with but know will fail has some value.
What is the best blender for life that has the least history of problems. The last one we had which was a Ninja which only lasted two weeks and the company said they shipped us a replacement and it never arrived. Long story no Ninja wants it to be reasonably priced and able to handle everyday use for the long term. I am not sure how I’m defining reasonably priced I just need something that won’t be broken in two weeks.m
Spend real money for a VitaMix or Blendtex (I have both, prefer the commercial Blendtec). Or just go thrift a nice old Oster from the 70s. All three will last forever.
a nice old Oster from the 70s
This is what I've been using for the last 15 years. But it's the same one from our kitchen when I was a kid in the 70's. Glass jug. Manual buttons.
The only thing I've ever replaced is the $1 rubber gasket that goes between the blade-post and the bottom housing that the jug screws into.
50 year old blender. Probably cost around $35, brand new, in adjusted dollars.
I substituted a Blendtec for my Vitamix.
Vitamix is amazing. Unquestionable.
That said I personally like the how the blunt blades of the Blendtec froth/aerate liquids. I’m an avid gym going and make a protein shake once a day and the texture/consistency the Blendtec provides is really terrific for me personally. A buddy I used to live with had a Blendtec and eventually after a few months of having some shakes at his place I sold my Vitamix and got the Blendtec. Been going strong for 8 years.
This is obviously a super niche use, for me it was worth the swap though since I make protein shakes daily.
I also really like Blendtec. I had one a decade or so ago, and gave it away to a family member because I didn’t use it enough. I now have a Vitamix (which was given to me) and like it a lot too. I think both are really good. It’s surprising to me Vitamix always takes the top spot in this sub any time someone asks the question, because they’re basically equal in my eyes. Like you said the blunt blades aerate a bit better, and they’re easier to clean since you don’t have to worry about cutting yourself.
I love my blendtec but I hate their pitchers. If you run them once in the dishwasher they become spotty forever.
My Blendtec is a commercial model, computer controls and in a sound-deadening enclosure. Like you'd see at a smothie bar or coffee shop. So I have programs set for all the things I make often. It's quieter and more powerful than the Vitamix I own.
Both my Blendtec and my Vitamix were thrifted/estate sale finds though, if I were buying at retail I probably would not pick a $600 Blendtec over a $300 Costco Vitamix.
Vitamix is the gold standard. Always. Crushes ice, makes the smoothest purees.
Vitamix has been so good, my parents restaurant had one and it’s worked for years.
We've had a Vitamix for five years so far. No issues. My wife is almost an evangelist for Vitamix now.
They're a "buy once, cry once" tool.
Ok, I have to go against the flow. I have a Vitamix. It has worked flawlessly for years. But the problem is, I am a Vitamix repairman. NO ONE ever calls me!! How is a guy to live on that?
Vitamix. Period.
I have a Blendtec, and while it works well, I wish I had gone Vitamix. My only complaint is that the blunt style of blade struggles to deal with seeds. So anything with raspberry or blackberry seeds, for instance, will still have whole seeds in your "smoothie". And there doesn't seem to be much you can do to help that, unfortunately. Solid machines, and powerful, but I wish it was a sharp style blade, like Vitamix.
I don't know if this is violating the rules but if anyone has a cool hand rig for blender with like hypermetals set up I would greatly appreciate it
thank you very much
best high-speed blender
Key Considerations for Choosing a High-Speed Blender:
Power and Performance: Look for a blender with a motor power of at least 1,000 watts. Higher wattage (up to 2,000 watts) provides better blending capabilities for tough ingredients.
Blade Quality: Stainless steel blades are durable and effective. Consider blenders with blades designed for both blending and crushing ice.
Capacity: Choose a blender with a suitable jar size for your needs. Common sizes range from 32 oz to 64 oz. Larger jars are great for families or batch cooking.
Speed Settings and Programs: Multiple speed settings and pre-programmed functions (like smoothies, soups, or frozen desserts) offer versatility and ease of use.
Ease of Cleaning: Look for blenders with dishwasher-safe parts or self-cleaning features to simplify maintenance.
Warranty: A longer warranty (5 years or more) can indicate the manufacturer's confidence in the product's durability.
Recommendations:
Vitamix 5200: Often regarded as the gold standard for high-speed blenders, it features a powerful motor, variable speed control, and a durable design. It's excellent for smoothies, soups, and nut butters.
Blendtec Classic 575: Known for its powerful motor and pre-programmed settings, this blender is great for making smoothies, salsas, and more. It also has a unique square jar design for better blending.
Ninja BN701 Professional Plus Bender: A more budget-friendly option, it offers a powerful motor, multiple speed settings, and a large capacity, making it ideal for everyday use.
Choosing the right blender depends on your specific needs, but any of these options will provide excellent performance and durability.
