Department Stores and Brand Websites
For a wide variety of jackets, department stores like Nordstrom are highly recommended. They offer a range of styles from premium brands such as Barbour, though they come at a slightly higher price point [1:1],
[1:3]. Similarly, you can visit the websites of brick-and-mortar stores like Walmart, which often have a broader selection online than in-store
[2:1].
Online-Only Retailers
Amazon is a popular choice for purchasing jackets online due to its extensive selection, including specialized clothing that may be hard to find elsewhere [2:1]. However, it's important to consider the quality of items, especially when shopping on platforms like SHEIN, which offers trendy options but may not always meet quality expectations
[3:1],
[3:2].
Second-Hand and Thrift Options
eBay is frequently mentioned as a great place to find high-quality, lightly used jackets at a fraction of the cost. Leather jackets, in particular, are durable and can look better with wear, making them ideal for second-hand purchases [4:1],
[4:7]. Vinted and other thrift platforms are also recommended for budget-friendly finds
[4:4].
Specialized and High-End Brands
For those interested in specific styles or high-end brands, Schott NYC and AllSaints are notable mentions. These brands offer premium jackets, but they can be found at more affordable prices through outlets or second-hand markets [4:6],
[4:4]. Leatherup.com is another option for leather jackets
[4:2].
Community Assistance
If you're looking for help finding specific jacket styles, communities like r/findfashion and r/HelpMeFind on Reddit can be useful resources where users assist each other in locating clothing items [5:1],
[5:2].
In conclusion, your choice of where to buy jackets online will depend on your budget, style preferences, and whether you're open to purchasing second-hand items. For high-quality and diverse selections, consider department stores and brand websites, while eBay and thrift platforms offer budget-friendly alternatives.
When you’re not looking for a general type of jacket what stores do you like to go to that has a nice variety of different ones to shop for? I’ve only bought them online recently but I’m curious if any of you have store preferences
It really is going to depend on the type of jacket you’re wanting because my recommendation is going to change since there’s everything from “I’m going to drink champagne with caviar as boba” jackets to “sleep in these woods barely covered” jackets
Clearly they're looking for something like this
Not to be that guy but Nordstrom. Really taken a liking to Barbour jackets recently.
Nordstrom has great stuff at a slight premium price.
What kind of shirts and jackets? A lot of people seem to like Uniqlo.
For most sorts of clothing, you can just go to the website of whatever brick-and-board store you prefer. Places like Walmart, the website carries far more variety than any of their actual stores. And usually a much better range of sizes. If you know what you want, order it online and have it delivered to the nearest store for pick-up, which is usually free.
If you mean clothing-sales operations that are online only, Amazon has a huge selection, including many sorts of specialized clothing that are difficult to find in a physical store -- especially if you're not in an urban area. I mean, if you want a top hat, they've got several dozen to choose from.
I'm looking for a good place to buy jackets in like the Y2K style but Amazon sucks for that anybody know any places online?
Um idk ima start listing random stuff, Ross, macys..
SHEIN
I was thinking shein but the thing is I was worried it wasn't going to be good quality and be really cheap stuff

Schott and Vanson.
I should probably take back the word ‘best’ from my title since I wasn’t expecting them to be super expensive. Are there any cheaper alternatives around 200-300 instead of over 700-1000? Or the cheaper ones are unreliable? 😅 If they are unreliable and not worth it, then I’ll consider saving for the long run with the ones you recommended since I really love these designs!
Leatherup.com
Look on ebay. Leather is very durable and only looks better with wear. You can get a used version on these jackets on ebay for $300.
I second eBay, you’re not gonna get a nice new jacket for 200-300, you’re much better off finding a lightly used schott second hand for 300, a LOT more bang for your Buck
Where are you located? Wested makes great quality jackets and has this style for about £130.
I am in the UK, is their shipping alright?
They’re U.K. too, shipping is fine. You can also get AllSaints for a decent price at outlets and Vinted
The image is from Caines, yeah but I seen mixed reviews about them so that’s when I thought it would be better to ask here.
Got a budget? Rugged West / Master Supply if on one, otherwise thrift. A few other threads on good vrands to thrift $200-$400
Schott NYC.
You can go with the originator of the brand and design.

What do ya got? I’m going this weekend and need ideas!
TJ Maxx/Marshall’s, Burlington Coat Factory, Nordstrom Rack, Uniqlo, Kohl’s
Burlington Coat Factory is now just Burlington and pretty much the same format as TJMaxx/Marhsalls/Ross but with a larger selection of jackets
Add Sierra.com/Sierra Trading Post to that TJ/Marshal group, but online only.
Facebook marketplace can be great. My wife bought a bag of assorted clothes from a rich girl for like $20 and it included a lot of designer clothes and a North face jacket. It's definitely luck of the draw on that though.
Thrift shop in the rich people neighborhood. It's mind-blowing the things people buy and then toss away. Might take some combing thru junk but you'll find something amazing
I always get jackets and coats from the thrift store, and take my time to check for holes/stains/etc. There are good name brands in there.
This. Alot of those high-end area goodwills have the branded northface/patagonias just thrown in there because the rich folks switch companies and dont need it anymore
Costco... seriously
Hi dm pls
Shipping fee should be shouldered by the buyer.
I don’t know where to get clothing like peep wore. Only place I can think of is hot topic and all they have now are marvel and Billie eilish tee shirts.
Copes is good, he does lots of merch for artists in the scene, plus his own stuff occasionally
Farewell Division is another one, all his stuff is typically done by himself but the quality is hella good and repped by a lot of people in the scene
Thrifting from places like Goodwill is a cheap way to find some good stuff. Sometimes you won’t find shit, other times you get some crazy good stuff. Also if you know how to design yourself, Goodwill can get you some good stuff to cut up or add to.
Don’t just try to wear things he wore, have your own style. Be yourself.
Mfrs don’t realize that peep looked so cool in his clothes because peep looked so cool without the clothes.. your average fan will look goofy copying full peep fits because they don’t have the swag to pull that shit off
Facts
First and foremost you should try to make sure your money is going towards an artist you like. Wicca has some really nice show merch. Copes just dropped a fire bundle. Wicca said he's redropping some classics in September.
can vouch
Dark Medicine
/r/findfashion is a godsend.
Thank you!
Fashion nova is one of my favorites. But I want to check some new things out.
I don’t do a ton of online shopping, but I’ve been liking Everlane lately.
Urban Outfitters and Hautelook are the other main ones, I used to LOVE Nasty Gal, but ever since they got bought out I haven’t shopped there.
Lulus.
The quality is good and the pricing is competitive. They have new items added daily and the website is easy to navigate. Shipping is pretty quick and returns are easy.
Jane. The only downside is that everything comes from different sellers, so you’re paying multiple shipping costs. Which is crap. But I generally only get one thing at a time.
I'm really digging Unique Vintage, I'm currently smitten with fifty style swing dresses and they seem to be great with varying sizes/returns ect. Though, their dresses are on the pricey side, so it's a rare treat.
ASOS is my go to, premier delivery is a life saver, I also love Urban Outfitters and have recently discovered Motelrocks has really upped their game since I first heard of them so I'm excited to order from there again at some point.
