Best Robes for Plus Size

Hey all! I have been on the hunt for a cozy bathrobe that actually wraps around me. I wear a US 20. I have been looking online for a while but wanted to see if I could source some opinions here!

Love them for robes and nightgowns. I have a silky one that come in 2 packs love them. I have like 10 so they are always clean and lovely. I get them super big because I want them to be free flowing.

I have a Lands End fleece robe that my mom sent me in 2000, when I was living in a flat abroad with no central heating. I'm pretty sure it saved my life that winter! It's still in lovely condition. I was probably a 22/24 at the time, and a women's XL fit perfect. And Lands End usually has excellent sales. Good luck!

So I'm a size 18/20 (big chest and shoulders) and my favorite robes are the unisex ones from Ikea. They are actual towel material and cozy. I get the XL, the biggest size they have. They actually dry you off and I lounge in them in the winter ❤️

I go to the pool a lot in the summer and I always was envious of people who could just casually wrap a normal towel around their waist and tuck it in when they were in their swimsuit. My waist circumference is too wide to do that with a normal towel.

I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner but I went out and bought me an oversized towel, the dimensions were 40 inches by 80 inches. It's heavy because it's so large but even at my largest (5x bottom) it easily wrapped around my waist and tucked in. I even used it at home coming out of the shower. Though now that I'm a size 2x-3x it's a bit large and I might look to downsize, but still to one that's bigger than normal size.

Which leads to my bonus question: anyone have a light-weight summer robe for plus-sized bodies they can recommend? I'm a size 2x-3x bottom though 1x-2x top.

How tall are you? I am 5'3" and suspect I'd have to hem it and I suck at hemming.

Edit: Found a review that said it hit ankles on a 5'2" person. A little longer than I like but not tripping length.

I have a nice cotton one from Lands' End, the sticker price is like $80 or something but I got mine for about $30, you just have to keep an eye out for sales. It's super soft and comfy. They also make terry cloth ones and go up to a 3x which I think is a 24-26.

I was hoping someone here might have a recommendation for a nice, inexpensive robe. I’m looking for a non-fuzzy or fleecy material, more of a Terry/cotton or waffle knit texture. Also hoping to keep it around $50 or less but willing to pay more for the right thing. I’ve googled over and over again and can’t seem to find a good match. For reference I am about a US size 22 or 2x typically. Thank you in advance!

I recently bought this one and love it. Lightweight, breathable, and it has pockets. It's got a tie for the inside as well as the main tie so the inside "flap" doesn't fall open. It is more of a stretchy/jersey kinda material though, not waffle or Terry.

Chrissy Tiegan's website has cute bathrobes that go up to size 24. I know they are more money than what you're looking to spend, but figured it was worth a mention. There is a 10% off for new customers. The mini robes are much less than a full length.

Hi! I can’t speak on a bath robe but Nate Berkus bath sheets from target are great and they’re actually on sale today! I just saw that when I was looking them up and am about to buy 2 more lol. Actually if you just look up bath sheets they’re bigger than normal towels and a lot of brands carry them in different price points. Changed my life.

There’s a longer version! I got it as a gift and don’t see it online, but in store you might be able to find the longer one. I’m not tall, but it comes down to mid-calf on me, so it should work on a tall person.

The pajamas by that brand are EVERYTHING! I have 3 sets, two long sleeve sets with pants and a short sleeve set with shorts. Super soft, comfortable in all seasons, retains shape and color after multiple washes...My husband loves them and wants some too lol. I have to find him the male equivalent. I will definitely add the robe to my to buy list.

They usually have robes and slippers in the rooms to use. The slippers are pretty terrible. Robes are ok if you’re skinny.

No, never seen that. Wear in your room, or on your balcony.

We just got off a Celeb cruise (balcony room) and we thought we remembered much nicer robes (waffle fabric) but maybe that's another line we've been on.

The robes in our room were ... meh. Better than nothing but certainly nothing cushy or luxurious.

Your cruise ship will come with slippers and online in the disembarkation page. It says that you are allowed to take the slippers home with you so I would not recommend buying them.

The slippers are awful. Super thin, super cheap. Worth $1.00. I got them for free, I used them when my daughter was in the hospital and I was staying with her. Then I could toss them in the trash after the hospital stay.
