TL;DR Focus on prevention with sunscreen, hydration, and key active ingredients like Vitamin C and retinoids.
Prevention and Lifestyle
The cornerstone of any effective skincare routine for aging skin is prevention. Sunscreen is universally recommended as the most crucial product to protect against UV damage, which accelerates aging [1:2],
[3:1],
[4:1]. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle by drinking plenty of water, getting adequate sleep, managing stress, and following a balanced diet can significantly impact skin health
[1:9],
[4].
Active Ingredients
Incorporating active ingredients into your routine can help manage signs of aging. Vitamin C serums are praised for their ability to brighten skin and reduce wrinkles [1:1],
[5:1]. Retinol or tretinoin are powerful options for evening use, known for their effectiveness in slowing down aging and improving skin texture
[1:1],
[2:3]. These should be introduced gradually to avoid irritation
[5:6].
Hydration and Moisturization
Hydrating the skin is vital, especially for mature skin which tends to be drier. A good moisturizer helps maintain skin elasticity and prevents dehydration, which can make skin appear older [1:4],
[2:3]. Products like hyaluronic acid can be particularly beneficial for boosting moisture levels
[5:3].
Exfoliation
Gentle exfoliation can improve skin texture and promote a youthful glow. Products containing AHA and BHA acids are popular choices for deeper exfoliation, but should be used cautiously, starting with lower concentrations and frequency [2:4],
[3:7].
Recommendations and Resources
Several users recommend skincare influencers like Dr. Dray and Angie from HotandFlashy for reliable advice and routines tailored for aging skin [5:2],
[5:8]. Brands like The Ordinary and Paula's Choice offer affordable products suitable for mature skin
[2:1],
[2:6]. It's essential to patch test new products and introduce them slowly to see how your skin reacts
[2:7].
Is there actually a best skincare line for anti-aging? I feel like when I Google it I just get a ton of ads. I want to see real results someone had from using the line over long periods of time.
One thing to keep at the forefront of your routine: Prevention. No matter what brand(s) of products you use, don't skimp on sunscreen, wash your makeup off before bed, drink plenty of water & get enough rest. Don't smoke or drink to excess & watch your sugar intake - good nutrition is important. Don't worry, think positively.
Products don't undo or stop damage, they just slow the aging process. Go for more smile lines than frown lines😘 or do like Victoria Beckham & be expressionless LOL
“Anti aging” doesn’t exist. But you can use SPF, adapalene or tretonoin to help slow it down. Surgery is another option. Father Time and gravity will always win.
it's really only 3 things. AM - Vitamin C and SPF. PM - Retinol/Tret.
Well, that and a good moisturizer (and possible toner/essence/serum). Dehydrated skin looks much older than hydrated skin.
Truth
Still hunting for that holy grail eye cream tho
if you're using retinol, you don't need it anymore.
Belief Moisture bomb. The best.
those are great but you need to hydrate your skin with those products!
Yes!! Most people have skin that requires a good amount of hydration and moisturizing to go along with the use of actives.
Plus lots of water, plenty of sleep, proper diet and exercise.
I would say no, not a “best skincare line”, but certain ingredients have been tested and have long term benefits for skin.
Edited to add: honestly, find a sunblock you like, and use it. That’s the biggest step.
I can sadly second this ⬆️. 8 months pregnant and my skin looks amazing and I know it’s not just the hormones
Been reading a lot in here about The Ordinary. I’m a 71 year old female. Is this for younger skin? Anyone could offer any advice for mature skin care would be appreciated. I have normal to dry skin. Looking for products to brighten and lift if possible. Wrinkles be gone would be nice, but guess that’s asking for too much without surgery. Preferably readily available online at reasonable price. Thank you, loving this site.
My mom is 72. She uses moisturizer (I think Eucerine?) and 70 spf sunscreen in the morning under her makeup. At night she uses retin-A, and slathers her whole face with Vaseline before she goes to sleep. I am not sure what she uses for a cleanser though, maybe cetaphil gentle cleanser or something like that. Her skin looks amazing.
It’s important to add a lot of moisture to your routine. That along with retinol products in the PM and Vitamin C and sunscreen in the AM should have you covered.
Hi! No, The Ordinary products are for all ages! I hear that you want something that can lift, brighten and prevent or abate some wrinkles? Typically, skin laxity is the effect of gravity and fat pads in the face shifting. Topical products cannot change being a victim of gravity, usually only more invasive or intensive treatments will work (e.g., surgery, fillers, injectables, lasers). However, topicals are definitely helpful for preventing more wrinkles and brightening. Many people in this reddit sub are fans of vitamin C serums, toners of face washes with AHA/BHA, or products that contain hydroquinone for “brightening” and evening out skin tone. For wrinkles, over the counter retinols are best (many to choose from, ROC for example is in all drug stores) or prescription from your primary care physician or dermatologist. Retinols and AHA/BHA are both strong products and it is not recommended to use them together, or you may damage your skin barrier. Alternate them if you feel like you need both in your routine. If you choose to use retinols, start by adding them to a COMPLETELY dry face every 2 days and put moisturizer on top. If you tolerate it well, do every other day the next week. Work your way up to using it nightly. Lastly, wear sunscreen daily, especially if using products like retinols and AHA/BHA acids at night. Many people put moisturizer on after their products before bed, AND lightly rinse or gently wash their face in the morning and apply VitC, reapply moisturizer, and then sunblock for their days.
I hope this helps, and theres many many ways that this can be done, but that is just an example of a bare bones routine for you to get started!
Edit: Here is an example using products from The Ordinary. Also, forgot to mention, adding a face oil as the very last step of your night time routine may be useful as retaining moisture tends to be a problem with mature skin! -Night time: wash face, dry fully, apply The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid Emulsion, wait 10 minutes, add moisturizer (The Ordinary Hyaluronic acid or any drug store moisturizer like CeraVe), wait 5-10 min, add The Ordinary or any other brand face oil if you are dry skinned -Day time: rinse with water or use very gentle face wash (CeraVe gentle face wash or Cetaphil from drug store), dry face, put on the Ordinary Vitamin C, wait 5-10, put on moisturizer of your choice, wait 5 min, add sunblock of your choice
Thank you so much. I think I’m going to try The Ordinary then. Not sure where to start, but read the AHA 30%+BHA 2% solution used once a week was enough to remove dead skin and produce a glowyness.
>AHA 30%+BHA 2% solution used once a week was enough to remove dead skin and produce a glowyness.
Just a few tips on this product, if I may: cleanse your skin and allow it to dry thoroughly before using the AHA/BHA solution. (Maybe 10 minutes). Apply a thin layer and only leave on for 4-5 minutes the first time — set a timer! Rinse really well and follow with moisturizer. I usually follow this type of product with a hydrating toner and then a moisturizer. Just personal preference.
Oh, and before you try any products — patch test!!! Especially actives like AHA, BHA, retinol and Vitamin C.
Also use niacinamide 1/2 an hour after using the bha solution.
Absolutely! I recommend using it at night, and being sure to moisturize and wear sunblock. You dont want that new, fresh layer of skin to get dried out or hit by UV rays from the sun! Good luck!
paulas choice has skincare for all ages but is great for older women!
Their customer service is great, too! You might want to chat with them or call and they can recommend products based upon your skin type, how extensive a routine you want, your skin goals, etc.
She posted AM & PM routines a month ago. Worth checking out!
I recommend watching Hotandflashy & tamaras timeless beauty on youtube if you don't already :)
Sure! Welcome to the game. Tretinoin (prescription), vitamin C and SPF are the gold standard. Those will help with the hyperpigmentation on the top of your forehead and cheeks, but not the redness on your nose and chin. The redness is pretty typical in fair skin over 30, but only lasers can address it.
I tried a lot of stuff for redness, your right, not a lot works. I used Bentons goodbye redness sheet masks though and they really brought redness down.
La Roche Posays Cicaplast Baume has helped with my redness...and any inflammation or irritations!
"Anti Aging" is just a skincare buzzword. Skincare is designed to keep your skin healthy by either moisturizing or exfoliating. It is never too early to start caring for your skin, especially protecting our skin from the sun with sunscreen.
What to look for in an exfoliating product?
Basic exfoliation like with a gentle scrub or exfoliating cloth are mainly just designed to slough off any dead skin from the outermost layers, so that dead skin cells dont get into our pores and clog them up or cause blemishes. This can help overall skin appearance and texture.
Some deeper exfoliation using acids such as products that contain AHA and BHA are intended to get deeper into the pores and break down sebum and gently clear out pores. This can help with whiteheads and/or blackheads.
The deepest levels of exfoliation using retinoids works on a cellular level, retinoids actually cause the skin cell turnover process to happen faster, so newer skin cells are being pushed to the surface more quickly. This can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and can also help alleviate severe acne.
Yes people should start as early as their 20s. You start losing collagen at 25
Sunscreen. The most important “anti-aging” product.
SPF, SPF, SPF! Preach it giiirrlllll
At any age, you should have a skincare routine of cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. The best anti-aging (and more importantly, anti-cancer!) product you can use is daily SPF. Cleanser prevents buildup of old SPF, excess sebum aka oil, and dirt. Moisturizer keeps your skin hydrated and supple so that it is less prone to inflammation and damage from any source.
If you have never had a routine, please read the r/SkincareAddiction sidebar starting with the basic routine recommendations. Do not jump into 'actives' without a consistent basic routine.
I’m 47 and have been paying closer attention to skin health and aging since my early 30s. Some things I’ve tried have been worth sticking with, others… not so much. Thought I’d share in case it helps someone else here sort through the noise.
Lifestyle:
- Daily sunscreen: the one thing I’d say is non-negotiable. I wish I’d been consistent in my 20s, but better late than never.
- Prioritizing sleep: 7 hours a night makes a bigger difference in skin texture and puffiness than any cream I’ve tried.
- Stress management: I don’t meditate every day, but I do carve out quiet time, which helps more than I realized.
Diet
- Mostly balanced, leaning toward a Mediterranean-style diet (veggies, fish, olive oil, nuts, fewer processed foods).
- Cutting back on alcohol has improved both my skin clarity and morning puffiness.
- I drink plenty of water, but I don’t go overboard with supplements “for skin.” Tried collagen and a few others, but I never saw much of a difference.
Exercise and Fitness
- Resistance training and walking are the mainstays. Building muscle in my 40s has been one of the best anti-aging steps I’ve taken, not just for my face but for overall posture and energy.
- I also do some light cardio. Good circulation seems to help with that “healthy glow.”
Skincare Product Usage and Process
- Retinoids: I’ve learned to stick with a steady, moderate-strength retinoid instead of chasing stronger ones and irritating my skin.
- Gentle routine: gentle cleanser, hydrating toner, moisturizer, sunscreen in the AM; retinoid and moisturizer at night.
- LED masks: I’ve used red light therapy for years, starting with panels, then trying a few different masks. I stuck with masks because they’re lighter and easier to use consistently. I recently switched to a Ulike LED mask, and I like how portable and comfortable it is compared to others. I usually use firm and glow mode several nights a week. It hasn’t erased lines for now, but it has helped keep my skin calmer, more even-toned, and slightly firmer.
- What I avoid: over-exfoliation and “miracle” serums that promise the world but don’t deliver.
The biggest lesson for me is that consistency matters more than chasing quick fixes. Sunscreen, retinoids, and steady use of my LED mask have made more of a difference than any single trendy product.
Wow, I take note, I'm in my 30s and I've been consistent with sunscreen for 6 months now and I use vitamin C serum in the morning, I feel like it's time to use a retinoid. How do LED masks work? Is it after retinol or before?
LED masks are used on clean skin. I use it before I put on my moisturizer.
Happy to see a post about success with an anti-aging regimen without Botox. It’s getting shocking how many times I see “just use Botox!” as a suggestion on a post looking for help. Maybe I’m the only one here, but Botox doesn’t seem like “skin care” to me.
Plus, it's freakin expensive!
I'm in my mid 30's and my skin has had a major glowup in recent couple of years. And I definitely agree with you that healthy diet, plenty of water, sleep, rest, exercise, sunscreen, retinoids and basic washing and moisturizing really does help a lot to have healthy, glowy skin.
The only major difference in my routine is I use a mild/gentle exfoliant with salisylic acid every morning, and no LED masks, but then again I also do have bigger issues with acne than I do with wrinkles yet at this age. But I do have "mature skin" in the sense that it's dry and kinda sallow, like it's lost a lot of its color.
I don't do any chemical peels or strong exfoliation though. That's way too harsh for my skin. But as long as it's not red or sore I think it's fine to use exfoliation regularly. Especially for people like me who get acne, white heads, black heads, etc, on the regular. You usually need some kinda chemical exfoliation to fully clean such pores out, ie pores that have a habit of getting clogged with excess sebum a lot.
Can you share what exfoliant you use with salicylic acid? Please and thank you.
Your routine is a chef's kiss gotta love how the basic and a lil salicylic acid can literally change the game
Thank you! Yeah, usually it's the "boring" stuff like washing, moisturizing and healthy lifestyle that does most of the work in giving you fresh, healthy skin. There's no magic cream that erases all the skin issues, unfortunately!
What moderate retinoids do you use??
What LED mask do you use?
Up until now, I have only really half-assed my skincare. I'm almost 48 and now in a panic because I'm seeing the lines near my eyes when smiling, texture is really showing up, etc..
How in the world do you figure out what products to use, what order to use them, and how often? I feel overwhelmed. I'm hoping to figure out a must have routine for weekdays, and maybe a more pampering version for the weekends.
Is there a YouTube or TikTok creator you like and trust to show these foundational steps? Maybe I'm overthinking it?
I think with my incoming order from the DermStore, I might have a good starting point for a routine that is sustainable and effective. Is this my pre-menopausal brain losing it? 😂
Thanks for reading, being kind, and helpful. 🫶
Hi there There are many skincare influencers out there. I’m 41 next month, and take my skincare really seriously with morning and night routine and a little more pampering at the weekends when I have a bit more time. The only influencers I like and TRUST is Dr Dray and Angie from HotandFlashy. Angie is 62/63 and amazing i have been watching her for the past few years and by far my favourite person on youtube
Dr. Dray is AWESOME! I really appreciate her evidence based approach to caring for our skin. After listening to her retinoid playlist I got the courage to try Tretinoin again. So far so good. She also provides a wide scope information on health and wellness as related to the skin that other skin influencers don’t.
ETA: She also dispels a lot of skin care myths. I have learned a ton from her. Definitely one of my favorites. I love Angie, too!
I gave up on Angie. She seemed to go far to the products that she made money from and even more skeptical now that she has her own skincare line.
Does she use any lux products?
What did you order from derm store! Happy to help you out your routine in order
This is what's on its way:
Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum
I already have these: Alpyn Super Sculpt Serum for face and neck (under chin area is sagging a little) Dr. Dennis Fill and Repair Eye Cream PTR Instant FirmX Eye Round Lab Moisturizing Cream Round Lab SPF50 Round Lab Toner Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser
Thank you for helping me! ❤️
A general rule of thumb is thinnest to thickest:)
Cleanse->Serums-> Moisturizer-> Eye Cream
I don't see a hyaluronica cid in your routine. I would definitely get one. The results can be dramatic and you don't need a super luxe one. My farites are Ogee's hyaluronic serum and SkinCeuticals B5 Gel (for luxe), but honestly I use the Ordinary's $8 one now because i don't think the others do anything different than pure hyaluronic acid.
Be careful with introducing too many actives all at once. It can irritate your skin. It would be helpful to know what you purchased and we can make some recs though hard to know since everyone's skin is different. Definitely recommend introducing one active at a time for a few weeks to see how your skin responds.
So go slow, one at a time. ✔️ Thank you!
Here ya go!
Thank you very much!
Of course! If you want exclusively luxe products her channel is a great resource
My skin loooooves Sunday Riley serums you mentioned in another comment! CEO 15% VitC serum is my AM holy grail product. Brightened me up within a week and there was general improvement in tone and texture in a month. I cleanse, pat dry, then a few sprays of Sunday Riley Pink Drink essence mist (let dry), 1 pump of CEO serum, then my favorite AM moisturizer (Tula 24-7 day and night cream) and Sulwhasoo Ultimate S eye cream.
I rotate actives in the evening and use A+ serum 4 nights a week. Go easy with A+ if your skin isn't used to retinol; it's rather strong. I double cleanse, then apply 1 pump of A+, Manyo bifida mist, then a dab of Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream, and Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng eye cream (has retinol).
Good Genes is twice a week for me. My skin is very tolerant so I can actually layer it over Paula's Choice 2% bha (I don't recommend this to people unless they have non-sensitive skin like me), then finish with moisturizer and eye cream.
Defintely don't start using all three serums at once. Back when I began using active serums, I used VitC daily in the AM, but retinol night cream two nights a week and an exfoliant two nights a week. I upgraded my whole skincare routine a year ago and started with CEO serum because VitC is the one thing I use every single day. I was already using all of the same actives so I was able to switch over to the Sunday Riley products in a few weeks, keeping the same frequency of use. But if you aren't already using those actives, be careful not to overdo it. In time I built to 4 nights with retinol. I also make sure to leave a night or two where I'm not using any active serums and just focusing on hydrating and moisturizing products.
Go slow and have fun! There's an active Sunday Riley community on FB if you want to know more about combining their products and other suggestions: SR group
I’m feeling totally overwhelmed with all the skincare products out there and could really use some advice. I’m 34, Asian, living in Australia. My main skin concerns are: • Fine lines, laugh lines, and crow’s feet • Dry face and neck with lots of lines • Uneven texture
Right now my routine is super basic: • Cleanser: Cetaphil • Moisturiser: CeraVe cream • Eye cream: RoC
I’d love to keep things simple and affordable, but I’m also open to trying Korean skincare if it actually works. I’m not sure whether I should add serums, acids, retinol/retinal, or just stick to hydrating products.
Basically, I want a minimal routine that helps with dryness, texture, and early signs of aging, without feeling like I need 10 products.
Any tips, routines, or product recs would be amazing! Thanks 😊
Retinol is best for anti aging. Might be good idea to start adding only one ingredient/product at a time to your routine so your skin won't be overwhelmed and that way you won't have a hard time pinpointing which product caused this that.
Beauty of joseon, some by mi, cosrx have some positive reviews for retinol
Keep your routine simple by adding a gentle exfoliating serum with low percentage AHA like lactic acid a few times a week to improve texture and fine lines without irritation. Incorporate a mild retinol or retinal product gradually at night to target early aging, paired with your current moisturizer to combat dryness. Stick to hydrating products like CeraVe and consider adding a soothing Korean essence or serum with ingredients like snail mucin or centella for extra hydration and skin barrier support.Hope i helped♡

I'm s newbie to skin care, but top over-the-counter products I'd suggest anyone use, if you're currently using nothing, are;
moisturizing sunscreen (the single most important product, I think)
benzoyl peroxide foaming cleanser
adapalene 0.1%
minoxidil, especially if you're a guy losing hair, like I am.
I'd love to hear what others think!
It's best to target one issue at the time and do it for at least 2 months (your skin takes a month to renew so you won't see results right away).
I'd start with hydration and later focus on anti - aging.
I'd add serum with humectant (hyaluronic acid, glycerine, aloe Vera, beta-glucan, etc). Then seal it with moisturiser that claims to be hydrating too.
Once you get the gist of hydrating your skin, you'll notice how you immediately look younger because your skin is so plump.
Then you'll be a perfect candidate for a perfect anti-aging holy grail... Drumroll please... The TRETINOIN! It's an active retinol that will prevent aging, but it requires a bit of reading and prep as you'll have to look after your barrier.
So go ahead, Google hydrating serum Reddit and look for recommendations in /asianBeauty and other skincare subs.
Happy skincaring!
Edit: the best anti-aging investment you can make is use sunscreen.
Would really appreciate some feedback on my proposed routine, especially regarding the introduction of retinol and whether any of the products I'm looking at would react badly to retinol.
Background: 33 YO and primary concerns are fine lines, anti aging and pore reduction. I think I have combination skin and its probably (definitely) dehydrated. My skincare routine was non existent, but I've been using up some old moisturiser and cleanser recently. Budget is mid range, nothing too crazy expensive but not necessarily looking for the cheapest.
AM
Cleanser - Potentially nothing as mornings are not my thing
Toner - Laneige cream skin toner
Eyes - The Ordinary multipeptide eye serum
Moisturiser - The Inkey list Bio-Active Ceramide Repairing and Plumping Moisturizer
SPF - La roche posey shaka fluid
PM
Cleanser - Elemis Pro-Collagen Black Cherry Cleansing Balm
Toner - Laneige cream skin toner
Eye cream - The Ordinary multipeptide eye serum
Serums etc - going to look into retinol, recommendations needed for retinol but also other night serums please :)
Moisturiser - The Inkey list Bio-Active Ceramide Repairing and Plumping Moisturizer
Thank you!! :)

Just a suggestion maybe switched to The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + HA, Anti-Aging Formula when you are done with your eye serum so you can also use it for your face and eye using the same serum. Your face could also use the peptides for anti aging. The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1%, Anti-Aging Serum is a good choice also.
You need a water base cleanser after using your cleansing balm for a 2nd cleanse. Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser is a good one if you are starting a retinol. You can try The Ordinary or Cerave retinol serum in your pm routine once or twice a week and see how your face does then go from there. You’ll want to slowly increase frequency to using it 5-7 nights/week. You can put it on after your toner on dry skin.
I completely understand what you are saying, especially fear of aging. However, I feel this routine can be way simpler by using same products, make vitamin c more into cycle. You are focusing more on anti aging products like TO growth factor serum etc in morning, whereas morning routine must be focused on prevention from environment and sun protection. Keep GF serum, barrier healing in night. Instead of glycolic acid once you can still use aha bha.
I have seen my ex roommate’s skin get ruined by too many products in her routine to extent that dermat told her to stop using everything.
Also, if you are fearing aging so much please seek therapy because there maybe more to it. But as of routine, use more of same products and keep anti aging serums, barrier repair for night time and morning only for protection from environmental damage.
Thank you!
Edit-Please keep anti aging serums and barrier repair focused towards PM routine. By mistake I wrote morning.
Girl, just consult a Dermat.
This is way too elaborate and you seem like you're serious about it and can also afford decent Skincare. A good dermat would give you better suitable suggestions than reddit girlies.
Agree
You must have a PhD in patience
No, just really scared of aging 😩
You’re doing everything right, but please lower your stress. Hydrate your skin well, eat more fruits. Take supplements. I’ll send a link that you will find interesting.
You’re so lucky that you’re aging. Lots of people never see themselves age and would die for an opportunity like that
Not everybody sees this and no matter what we do, even the most gorgeous actresses with access to the best of the best plastic surgeons of the world, have aged. It is inevitable.
please lord free women from the fear of aging
🥲🥲🥲
Just did a “the works” facial (dermaplaning, peel, extractions) for Mother’s Day.
My eyes glazed over at the cost of the products in the the spa, but she did mention that I don’t have very visible signs of aging (a win for 38!), but I do have clogged/enlarged pores and still struggle pretty badly with blackheads (a lose for 38 lol).
She had mentioned a toner with lactic acid and a serum with vitamin a, I think.
What’s the fellow cloggy folk doing for a am/pm skin regimen? And a preventative for signs of aging other than sunscreen? I’ve been stuck at just wash, lotion, sunscreen for far too long. It’s a combination of intimidation/product overwhelm and laziness
I think looking for a product that has both BHA/AHAs to help unclog pores (BHA, salicylic acid, works more “inside” pores) and smooth texture (AHAs like glycolic, lactic, mandelic, etc - varying strengths, works more on surface of skin).
There are a number of options, like Paula’s choice or CosRX which are on the spicier side with glycolic acid as the main AHA, or some more complex combos like the watermelon toner from Glow Recipe or Prequel’s acid milk, amongst others.
I think since you have the rest of your routine down, I’d start with something on the lower end of your budget (maybe a travel size of the PC or Glow recipe or the CosRx) and use it only once a week to start. If you find that it’s not causing irritation and helping but maybe not quite as much of a difference as you were hoping, then consider increasing to 2x a week.
Just exercise caution as it’s easy to go overboard and overexfoliate and compromise your skin barrier to the point that it feels raw and you start breaking out a bunch (ask me how I know 😓).
Looking at the routine, it seems like you follow nipun kapur. You just need reduce the amount of actives and slowly introduce them
Re actives : all of these products (except Kojic acid, ahabha, glycolic toner) I've been using since a while. Unsure mainly about how to use these exfoliants
I think your using too much a the same time, take out all the toners tbh as your using barrier repair cream as moisturizer. Don't apply vitc and kojic back to back(they both work at diff ph), either wait for it to settle or rather switch to a kojic moisturizer. Use gf and multi peptide alternate and see udhar se how it's going
This is an overkill. What's your current routine?
This is OPs current routine. I am shuddering looking at all these products 😭.
OP, it's healthy to care for your skin, but this list is borderline obsessive.
This kind of obsession is what leads to dismorphia and to people getting face lifts in their early 30s.
Itne product poori life mei ni use kre
Are you new to skincare? Introducing this many skincare products at once can do more harm than good.
And you don't need this many peptides and anti aging serums too. Focus on sun protection and something antioxidant in the morning like vitamin c, and at night use peptides, GF serum and retinol (would be great if you could find one serum that combines both of them, but using two different serums can be fine too)
Also, from what I know, you should focus on hydrating and protection in the morning and any kind of "repair" work should be done at night so the skin has a better environment to work in.
Not new. Been doing it religiously since about 3 years. Thanks for your thoughts!
Aaahh that's nice! I think most OTC products work on the surface level but there's only so much they can do. So for anti aging lifestyle matters a lot too, maybe you can work on your protein intake (protein helps with collagen production) and you can also take marine collagen supplements if that's okay with you!
That being said, I am a decade younger than you haha, but like i was so scared of aging after hitting 20 (thanks to the internet making me feel like I'll be "old" by 25) so I looked into what you can do to help with aging, but I would definitely suggest doing your own research too!
Please simplify ur routine. This is wayyyyy too much.
If u r so concerned, consult a derm and get every doubt answered by them. Get a prescribed routine and stick to it. Then u could add a few products that u really like.
Cause, the thing is, with these many products, u can't know which ones r working and which aren't. So quite a bit of those might just be money down the drain.
Yeah, I saw that routine and her name clicked. She's fine, most of her content seems adopted/taken from west and not much research from her side. Her routines she formulates are good tho and won't trust all product sponsorships.
Toooooo many products. Skin will get damaged and you will spend ages trying to put it back together. If it was me, I’d use only copper peptides everyday in the morning along with a moisturizer and sunscreen. And retinol/ multi peptide combo at night is good. Would ditch salicylic routine in PM. Give at least 4 days gap in between retinol and Gycolic acid. Use multi peptide and layer with a lightweight oil on top the rest of the nights. Please stop using so many products. Donate / use them on your body, the rest of them products. IM CRYING GIRL STOP PLEASE this routine will age your skin faster.
Best skincare routine for aging skin
Key Considerations for an Aging Skin Skincare Routine:
Cleansing: Use a gentle, hydrating cleanser to avoid stripping the skin of its natural oils. Look for ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid.
Exfoliation: Incorporate a mild exfoliant 1-2 times a week. Chemical exfoliants (like AHAs or BHAs) are often more effective and less abrasive than physical scrubs.
Toning: A hydrating toner can help balance the skin's pH and prepare it for better absorption of subsequent products. Look for toners with antioxidants or hydrating ingredients.
