TL;DR
Sony Xperia Series
The Sony Xperia series often comes up in discussions about top smartphones. Specifically, the Sony Xperia 1 VII is mentioned as a good option, indicating that it offers a balance of performance, camera quality, and other features [5:6]. This model is part of Sony's flagship lineup, known for high-quality displays, advanced camera systems, and robust performance.
Considerations for Choosing a Smartphone
When choosing a smartphone, it's important to consider what you prioritize most—be it software, hardware, camera quality, or battery life. While some users suggest that there isn't a single "best" smartphone, the Xperia series is noted for its well-rounded capabilities [5:3]
[5:9].
Comparison with Other Brands
While Samsung and Google are frequently mentioned for their software, and brands like Xiaomi and OnePlus for their hardware, Sony stands out for those who prefer a unique blend of both, especially in terms of multimedia capabilities and display technology [5:2]. This makes the Xperia series appealing to users looking for a phone that excels in media consumption and photography.
In summary, if you're considering a Sony phone, the Xperia 1 VII is highly recommended by users for its comprehensive feature set and performance. However, always consider your specific needs and preferences when selecting a smartphone.

The only category Game of Thrones lost that night was Oustanding Supporting Actress. Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke lost to Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black).
Sounds like a pretty good show. I'm sure they kept doing well in later seasons.
Gold derby can be slow on the pickup. But it is as good as we are gonna get without daily monitoring of screenings and ratings on IMDb and Letterbox. Those don’t take into account whether the studios are strong in campaigning for Oscars and how many films and in what category each stdio is juggling.
What a stupid list.
Jay Kelley is DOA and everyone has known that for a month. Nuremberg and Wake up Dead Man have better chances.
Anemone has not screened publicly. Putting it in anything but “Time will tell” is stupid especially if you are putting Wicked in “Time will tell”. We’ve already seen half of those performances and they were nominated. Does that “journalist” think Erivo and Grande just sleepwalked through the rest of the production. I would also say Best Actress and Best Supporting actress are very weak this year as of right now. The “time will tell” doesn’t even have much to make them competitive aside from Erivo and Grande.
Nothing but stupid trade pr bought for by some of the studios to try and spin reality.
What’s the best outlet to get an accurate picture of the race rn? Just GoldDerby?
I think springsteen is getting on there. They've been loving music biopics. doesn't matter how poorly they do critically. smashing machine seems like the rock is going for actor so I think that gets in as well. this has been a fun season so far though. last year was a mess with Emilia Perez, and then the backlash over Anora winning, and then all the mess around the brutalist and ai. This year so far seems like it's mostly good or great movies but theres still a lot of race left so who knows.
This is the availability bias at play, there are music biopics they don’t nominate every year and not every year has a music biopic in the lineup
Best Picture alone tells me they don’t have a great grasp of this stuff; no way Netflix gets four nominees, especially when two of those movies weren’t even that well received and the fourth (Train Dreams) might not even be a campaign priority for them
I’m personally gonna give Frankenstein a fair shot but idk why anyone would think based on how it’s been received that it has any shot of a BP nom.
Reviews are good but admittedly not great, it got runner-up in Toronto, there's a ton of affection for GDT in the industry (see Shape of Water winning in an insanely stacked year, Pinocchio winning Animated, Nightmare Alley getting a BP nom), and it's going to get boosted by its strength in below the line categories. I don't think it's a super strong contender but won't be shocked if it squeezes into the 9th or 10th spot. Gold Derby's got it at 14th currently but that's behind three movies I think it's definitely stronger than (Jay Kelly, Springsteen, Rental Family).
To be fair, Nightmare Alley also got a tepid response, but managed to pull of a BP nom. Though that one benefitted from a well-timed endorsement by Martin Scorsese.
The novella for Train Dreams is great, the reviews at Sundance were great, and I assumed they were releasing it in November to have it compete for best picture. If anything, I thought that would be the most blatantly Oscar-y movie they have. I agree that I'm unsure if both Frankenstein and Jay Kelly will be nominated for BP though.
I'm not saying they shouldn't or won't prioritize it tbc, there's just no indication that's the case currently. I don't really expect that to change when it was an acquisition and it has the least starpower behind it (meaning the relationships they value the least). Jay Kelly didn't go over super well but they're probably not ruling out Clooney or Sandler and the Baumbach/Gerwig relationship is super important to them.
i think frankenstein has a much better shot at a bp nom than jay kelly, just based on vibes
I know there's timidity to predict horror at the Oscars (unless Ryan Coogler directed it and it became an inescapable cultural phenomenon), but... c'mon, guys, Amy Madigan is getting in for Weapons.
Disappointing to not see Delroy on the best supporting list for Sinners
I saw Train Dreams last week. It's a great movie, but I'd be shocked if it gets Oscar attention.
Best boobs too
Best smartphone for what exactly? There is no best smartphone, just the best smartphone for you.
In overall, processor, camera, battery, software.
Cant have it all. Want the best software you go for google or samsung. Want the best hardware probably some chinese brand such as xiaomi or oneplus. There isnt one smartphone that is best in everything
Size? Form factor? Pro AI or anti AI? What are you using your phone for?
If I had to just pick a phone I would say the s25 ultra but there are phones with better cameras, battery, and performance but this one is a jack of all trades. It is big though which could be a turn off. One ui is feature rich but isn't very "clean" (multiple versions of the same apps). Again, we need more info.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra but 16 should be around the corner
Sony xperia phones.
Oppo Find X8 Ultra :)
Too vague. I would say the OnePlus 13 or Sony Xperia 1 VII are both good
Google Pixel 10 Pro XL maybe.
Especially with Friends. Sometimes 1v1's. Now that's my fav. And the phone design is so clean too. My fav is the white one. Really just goes well with the fan and the 2 cameras. Anyway, wish everyone good luck in the competition.
I got the 10 air. Best phone I've ever had. I've never had any lag and I came from an S21 ultra which at the time was the fastest phone I ever had. Thing goes hard and there's no game I can't play. Even emulate skyrim and fallout 4 thing is cracked. Though expect to use a cooler if you use it hard like me.
Does the Air have something like a Desktop mode ?
The cooler costa like 70€ right😅
good luck!
Hope i get it!
Thanks
I believe in the the 20 thousand price bracket this is the best phone currently in the market, but I could be wrong so please help me guys, I am just a newbie who want your opinions.
I don't require any pro level specs but just that it should atleast have what new phones have. (Budget is a little flexible I can go around 1-2k up if it is good enough)
Umm motorola edge 60 fusion is also good cmf too
I am currently using iQOO z9s 5g, it's a good phone
oppo k13 better than ts plus cheaper if you want good cameras go for nothing phone 2a if you want performance go with poco x7 pro
Cant argue with the best looking.
But for me huawei here is the ugliest one here.
But it has the crispiest smoothest UI, you have to check it out
I had few back then but now like to have samsung for android and iphone just for the kick.
Bro I've seen one irl. It is the most premium looking phone I've ever seen (and I have a pixel so it's not like idk a premium phone).
Pixel every day But owning vivo x200 is another kind of heaven
One of my friend told me it's the best in camera but the ui sucks?
Came from s3u you won't get the same experience so does the iphone users have used iphone too Vivo is working great UI is not updated looks old but it works great no hiccups And camera oh my it's superior
Never buy good pixel battery issues, charging time, ui shit
Unique is not standard for best looking
That may be true but i don't find current flagships to be the tiniest bit good looking since they don't particularly stand out because so many Chinese brands tend to copy their looks these days. Moreover. They are literally using last years look on their phones.
Pixel 10
Question lang what’s the best android phone to date, regardless of how much what I meant best is the best of best. Regardless whether ROG/Samsung etc.
Can be used in gaming, camera good photography/video stability.
Mahirap kasi talaga ikwenta yung "best". Lahat ng flagships ay may sari-sariling advantages. Samsung pa lang: the Ultra has the best feature set and performance, but the Z Fold, well, folds. Pixel is best for stock feature set, clean look, and camera, the ROG phone has the best feature set for games. It all depends on what you prioritize for your phone, and based on your budget din.
"Best" is really subjective and really opinionated. One's best might be worse to some.
Watch and read reviews. Ask friends and communities. Maybe borrow their phones for a bit, or try it out at the mall. Form your own opinions.
If you're an iPhone user, and just want something comparable to an iPhone. Google's Pixel line or Samsung's Galaxy S Series is a safe choice.
Walang phone na best at all. Imposible yun. But all flagship phones will be good enough or even great for everything you can do with a phone.
S25U can game, maybe the feature set will not be as good as ROG (walang external fan lol) but it can still game. S25U and Pixel have good cameras, ROG has a sakto lang na camera, not great but also not bad.
If you want the most well-rounded experience, the flagship phones of the reputable manufacturers (Samsung, Google, etc.) will always give you the best experience that will be great in all aspects, even if it's not the best in all.
Try Oneplus 13 for the best all around experience.
Samsung S25 Ultra for productivity and camera. The Fold 7 for media consumption but wait for Google Pixel 10 reviews. It’s looking to be the best current Android.
There will always be another "best" if you wait around.
Get what "best" you can now. It will be future proof for atleast 3 years
Best is subjective to user experience. Though best reliable here in the Philippines would be S25 Ultra or Z Fold7. As it has the best hardware, software (7 yrs) support and most importantly is aftersales support and repair service. Unless you're the type who just buys a new device when your current is accidentally damage/broken it is important to have an authorized service center you can easily access.
>The Sony Xperia 1 V is the latest and greatest Sony phone on the market, but because it's not available in the USA, the Xperia 1 V may still be the best option in the United States for most people, but how does it hold up in 2024?
Love my I V, best phone Sony ever made. I'm actually looking at the Samsung Fold now because it has a similar aspect ratio.
Personally, I think, that excess of the Xperia reviews here are the phone owners attempt to convince themselves that they made the right choice when the common sense says opposite
I love my Sony Xperia 1V ,go ahead and be mad about it .lol!
Lol Xperia 1 V would be a great phone but it s mostly let down by software and Sony policy...however i still use mine but it s being replaced by Samsung..even if there are a few things that Sony still does better
Xperia line is definitely not for Everybody, I mean to get 100% out of the phones functionality you need to know how to shoot dslr/ manual control your camera (which most people dont know or care) Use a headphone jack, Watch 4k content, Game - yes 1 V is a decent gaming phone with headphone jack, 240 motion blur reduction, power delivery, 240hz touch sampling rate+ xperia stream. Use micro sd. Very few people I know care about those things. I do all of these things. The 1V is peak Xperia. Sony shouldn't got rid of the video, cinema, photo pro apps.
My Xperia 1 VI is the best phone for me. Ive tried other brands but always came back to Sony. My latest brands before moving to the 1 VI, was iPhone, Samsung and Infinix.
I ask myself what other phone I would buy but I actually don't know. I had Notes in the past but they always had too much unremovable bloatware. Had Pixels but they always had some terrible defect Google refuses to acknowledge, such as the screen refusing to turn back on if you take a call on the 2 XL, unless you have a headset plugged in. I refuse to buy any Chinese phones due to the spyware. So what real alternatives are there?
For me personally, I've been waiting for a new Pro I release. None of the 1 series has really moved me. I don't care about the terrible front facing camera or lack luster "auto" modes or AI shit... I got an iPhone and Pixel for great grab shoot moments.
When I want to shoot a pic that looks like it came from my camera when I don't have my camera, I use my Pro I
But saying all that to say... The 1V is probably still a great option if you don't care about the minor "improvements" they made since then. I wasn't a fan of moving away from the 4K screen lol!
Given the insane battery life improvement on the 1 VI and the fact one really doesn't need a 4K Display on a small device like this, no. It just feels or sounds premium, but the overall experience is lesser
best sony phone
Key Considerations for Choosing the Best Sony Phone:
Camera Quality: Sony is known for its camera technology. Look for models with high megapixels, advanced image processing, and features like optical zoom and low-light performance.
Display: Sony phones often feature high-quality displays. Consider models with OLED screens for vibrant colors and deep blacks, along with high resolution (e.g., 4K) for an immersive viewing experience.
Performance: Check for the latest processors (like Snapdragon 8 series) and sufficient RAM (at least 8GB) for smooth multitasking and gaming.
Battery Life: Look for a phone with a battery capacity of at least 4000mAh for all-day usage. Fast charging capabilities are also a plus.
Software and Updates: Ensure the phone runs the latest Android version and has a good track record for software updates.
Recommendation: The Sony Xperia 1 V is currently one of the best Sony phones available. It features a stunning 4K OLED display, a powerful triple-camera system with advanced photography features, and a robust Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Additionally, it has a large battery capacity and supports fast charging. If you're looking for a more compact option, the Sony Xperia 5 V offers similar features in a smaller form factor, making it easier to handle.
