Popular and Highly Recommended Brands
Several vodka brands frequently appear in discussions as top recommendations. Tito's is a standout favorite, often mentioned for its smoothness and quality [2:1]
[2:2]
[2:4]. Grey Goose also receives praise for its premium quality, making it a popular choice among vodka enthusiasts
[3:1]. Belvedere is another brand that garners positive reviews, especially for those seeking a higher-end option
[4:2]
[4:8].
Value and Taste
For those looking for good value without compromising on taste, Sobieski is highly recommended. Despite being considered a mid-shelf vodka, it has been favored in blind taste tests over more expensive brands like Grey Goose and Reyka [4:1]
[4:3]. Stoli is also noted for its excellent price-to-quality ratio
[4:4].
Potato Vodkas
If you're interested in potato vodkas, Boyd & Blair is praised for its exceptional taste [5:1]. Monopolowa is another favorite, known for its affordability and decent quality
[5:3]. Chopin, a well-regarded potato vodka, is often mentioned for its smoothness and is available in different varieties, including a high-proof rye version
[5:4]
[5:7].
Unique and Specialty Vodkas
Reyka and Haku are highlighted for their unique flavors and smooth profiles, offering something different from traditional vodka experiences [1:1]
[1:3]. Ultimat, a blend of grain and potato distillate, is noted for its creamy texture and distinct taste
[1:2].
Personal Preferences and Recommendations
Ultimately, personal taste plays a significant role in choosing the best vodka. Some individuals prefer the stronger, more robust flavors of certain vodkas, while others seek out smoother, milder options [3:3]
[4:6]. Experimenting with different brands and types can help you find the perfect match for your palate.
Ultimat is a French Vodka that blends grain and potato distillate. Smooth and creamy and ALL KINDS OF DELISH.
It says product of Poland on my bottle. I'll have to look into that. [Edit: confirmed Poland.] Silky smooth stuff
Poland? okay . . . it's been a while since I finished mine. And our lovely LCBO does not stock it on the regular.
Not sure how these are really "Luxury Brands". I've tried a bunch. Zubrowka Vodka which seems to be on here a lot. Reyka, Haku and Crystal Head. I think I tried Mamont at a bar...but it's a cool bottle.
Seems to be pretty much a rehash of most of the other "best vodka you need to try once" lists out there. "Luxury" is probably just tacked on so people don't think of this list as lowbrow. That said, a lot of these are really good. Especially love Reyka and Haku.
(At the/when the poll ends will try to buy the winning brand/bottle, this serve as a recommendation from you out there😀)*did this for Gin also.
Tito's
Kirkland
Tito’s 1000%
Wyborowa.
Tito's FTW!
I'm personally partial to Svedka. But I'm not much of a Vodka drinker really. I'm more of a Rum and Whiskey guy.
What kind of rum do you like?
I'm starting to branch out, previously I had drunk a bunch of Captain Morgan and Kraken, but I'm starting to learn that those are actually really low quality. I've gotten myself a bottle of Plantation 3 star I haven't cracked open yet and am considering making my own infused spiced rum for drinking, but I jould probably do some straight rum first as a baseline.
I honestly can't tell the difference, I'm sure if you drink a lot of it neat you can but for me it's all the same, not in a bad way I like a nice vodka based cocktail
The one in my glass
The stronger is smells like hand sanitizer, the better. Hits the liver hard, not the wallet
When I was still drinking it was definitely grey goose.
My list for common vodkas found in US stores. Let me know what you think!
I prefer bottom shelf Sobieski for the taste and the value.
From what Ive tried (admittedly not super extensive) I like Belvedere best. But I have Sobieski in my freezer as its my second favorite and a fraction of the price haha
People literally think it's shitty because it's mid/bottom shelf. I had a dozen friends over for martini taste test and Sobieski was picked 9 of 13 pics for best flavor. I had Grey Goose, Reyka, Svedka, and Belvedere. All blind tested with discerning vodka drinkers.
Stoli is definitely should be moved up a notch due to price/quality ratio. Belvedere should be at B.
Have you ever had Chopin or Belvedere? Chopin should be up in S and I’d put Belvedere in B (maybe A?) I’d also argue Absolut should be moved down to C.
I agree, rating Absolut above Belverdere and at the same level as Chopin is just wild.
I’ve had Chopin yes, for me it wasn’t much better than ketel, but I do like it allot. The others listed are just a level above for me. Belvedere I did not like personally
But think about what you are comparing them to? Arguably one of the most prized vodkas on the same level as common mixing vodkas? And Belvedere is absolutely not the same level as New Amsterdam
I actually love Absolut. Think it's B.
good vodkas make good cocktails
I’m saying “have you ever had Chopin or Belvedere” in the sense that no one who has had those vodkas would put them so low.
I'm a beer drinker mostly but worrying at the beginning of COVID, I bought a case of Sobieski not knowing how bad it was going to be. I'm halfway through my 2nd bottle and honestly, it's the best vodka I've ever had. I can drink it in late night shots before bed and it's so drinkable.
Came across a post years ago but I forgot what sub it was in. I know someone mentioned beluga. I like stoli and Russian standard. Can't stand absolut. Any other suggestions?
Luksosowa is the only vodka I ever need.
Seeing that mentioned a lot so lemme find it
Monopolowa is my current favorite potato vodka and it’s quite cheap. I do think it gives me a slight hangover but not as bad as what I used to get with Luksusowa (which is otherwise also a solid cheap potato vodka).
I also like Stoli/Russian Standard and hate Absolut, so it would seem our taste is similar.
Chopin
Chopin has a bartenders choice that’s 119 proof that is good, I think it’s rye though
Blue ice is cheap and smooth. From Idaho I think
It is. Potato vodka…
Boyd & Blair is the nicest potato vodka I've ever tasted
I don't drink but Russian Standard has a nice looking label.
Tito’s. Proudly made in Texas! It’s actually really smooth and doesn’t give you shitty alcohol breath like TAAKA or Smirnoff or any other shit potato sauce.
im a Smirnoff person but will try
Sorry I insulted your Smirnoff.
I can never go past some Grey Goose
Rain
Crystal Skull vodka because it's filtered with REAL diamonds and it's nothing but pure spirit!
Russian Standard is pretty fairly priced and good at least imo
Stolichnaya
Chopin
All of these are great and under $25 in my area:
Or if your willing to spend/hunt a bit more these are top notch:
Old Mout :))
Clarks my beloved, taken from us too soon...
Exact. Super bun și fix ce trebuie
I am Canadian and went on a three week vacation to Belarus in August. In the past, I never really liked drinking kvass from Russia, Poland, or Ukraine. Then I tried Lidski kvass. It was the most amazing drink I have ever had. It is all I want to drink now. It is better than any Belgian beer, New York cocktail, or hipster kombucha. I think that this drink alone makes me want to visit Belarus again.
They used to produce brilliant ginger-lemon kvass, it was a bless, but after they stopped to sell it I can no longer drink regular plain kvass
Yes, Lidski is the best!
It's really good. Btw, there's something similar in Poland that is called kwas słowiański. It even has the same design.
Thanks. I will have to try it!
It's a bad copy, in Poland you could buy original Lidski kwas at the same price
Is it possible to get it without sugar? I’m diabetic and it seems it has sugar as a second ingredient after water? :/
Try Lithuanian kvass. It’s the only kvass that tastes good except Lidski. Gunernija is good. Sold in Canada https://eurofood-delta.square.site/product/bread-kvass-gubernija-500-ml/229?si=true
Thank you! I will order some.
Ahojte,
Mal by som dve hlúpe otázky.
Ktorý tonic je podľa vás najlepší (Kinley ? Schweppes ?
Hovorím ti to z pozície barmana.

Mne najviac chuti Fentimans tonic. Hrusku som nepil tak 15 rokov, tak v tom ti nepomozem.
best vodkas
Key Considerations for Choosing Vodka:
Purity and Distillation: Look for vodkas that are distilled multiple times (3-5 times is common) for a smoother taste. Higher purity often results in fewer impurities and a cleaner finish.
Ingredients: Vodka can be made from various ingredients, including grains (wheat, rye), potatoes, or even grapes. Each base ingredient can impart different flavors, so consider what you prefer.
Flavor Profile: Some vodkas are neutral and clean, while others may have distinct flavors. If you enjoy cocktails, a neutral vodka is often best, while flavored vodkas can add a twist to drinks.
Brand Reputation: Established brands often have a history of quality. Look for brands known for their craftsmanship and quality control.
Price Point: Vodka can range from budget to premium. While higher price doesn't always guarantee better quality, investing in a mid-range vodka can often provide a good balance of quality and cost.
Top Recommendations:
Takeaway: When selecting vodka, consider your personal taste preferences and how you plan to use it (neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails). Trying a few different brands can help you find your favorite!
