While not all may directly mirror "Solo Leveling," they provide exciting adventures and compelling character arcs that fans of the genre will likely enjoy.
I hv seen a lot of people on this subreddit and discord asking for recommendations Here are some common ones 1.The beginning after the end 2. I am the sorcerer king 3.the descent of the demonic master 4.The second coming of gluttony 5. Second time ranker 6.Tower of god 7.Hardcore leveling warrior My personal recommendation would be dungeon reset It is a bit of new spin on the dungeon genre. P.S. plz comment more if I missed any
Rather than a webtoon, a LN (just like Solo Levelling) that’s pretty popular in Korea is Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint! It’s really enjoyable lol
Second Time Ranker and I am the Sorcerer King are the only ones that are closely resembling Solo Levelling
Survival story of a sword king in a Fantasy world
Definitely would recommend. Both series have zero to hero MCs, but I think the MC for Sword King is better. Sung-Jin woo is pretty one dimensional but more epic while the MC from Sword King feels more human. If it weren't for Sung Jin Woo's servants, I think Sword King would be my favorite manhwa.
+1 for this. Survival Story of a Sword King in a Fantasy World is incredibly funny too
Ranker who lives a second time is pretty good too
Definitely would not recommend. It's extremely good and my third favorite manhwa, but from what I know, translations of the WN have stopped. There's computer generated translations, but they're pretty awful that it's not worth reading them. Maybe the manga will get further than the English tranations, but it won't be for a while.
I dont understand how tower of god and the beginning after the end have something in common with Solo leveling.
It's a webtoon that is v.good and can help u kill time until solo leveling season 2 comes out
I know i have read them all. I just dont get it why you are saying they are like solo leveling when they have nothing in common.
I know i have read them all. I just dont get it why you are saying they are like solo leveling when they have nothing in common.
Season 2??
preferably not romance, but it's fine if there's a romance element
Omniscient Readers Viewpoint. I think it’s much better. No romance.
Eleceed
Weak Hero
Return of the Blossoming Blade
Mercenary Enrollment
Surving Romance (despite the tittle, there's hardly romance, its so good and its packed with action, thriller and its psychological)
If you want underdog MCs try: the lazy lord masters the sword, I'm not that kind of Talent, a returner's magic should be special, flow, SSS class suicide hunter, the S classes that I have raised, Nano Machine, Trash of the Count's Family, The Breaker (is really good), Eleceed, Ranker who lives a second time. I enjoyed all of these and they have really high ratings
I love your avatar
Thanks. It looks just like me
The beginning after the end
Sorry, tried making it tidy but mobile formatting sucks D:
So as the title says, I'm absolutely obsessed eith Solo Leveling. I've read it a thousand times and I absolutely love the art style, and I'm looking for similar webtoons. Doesn't need to necessarily be the "protagonist receives game stats" theme, but something with a lot of action and badass growth. These are similar themed webtoons I've already read:
Omniscient Reader, Second Life Ranker, Second Coming of Gluttony, Tomb Raider King, Advanced Player of the Tutorial Tower, No Scope, Unholy Blood, The Gamer (lost interest after chapter 150+ though...), Tower of God, A Returner's Magic Should be Special
Others I absolutely love:
Sweet Home, Parallel City, The Remarried Empress, Dice, True Beauty, Unordinary, killstagram
Hit me with your amazing suggestions!

Zero Game is pretty good and has a similar feel to it.
These aren't similar to Solo Leveling, but they fit with the other series you liked. Your Throne has a really good plot and character growth. Escape Room is a really cool concept with intriguing puzzles. It's Mine is also pretty interesting, and takes place in the same universe as No Scope which is pretty neat.
I loved solo leveling! I’m a sucker for the classic super hero story- weak character who has to get stronger to protect their friends. I especially loved the design/format of solo leveling- i’m more used to manga so i really liked the colored art style. Also, the character designs (specially shadow minions) and video game model- it was just such a fun concept that I really enjoyed.
I got recommended solo leveling after asking for recommendations for kaiju no.8 and I think it was an A+ next series. So now I wanted to ask yall. What other manga/manhwa/anime did you enjoy as much as solo leveling. It does NOT need to be in the same genre, but I do love this type of story.
If you're looking for something with an overpowered MC that absolutely crushes his opponents every time,
"Nano Machine" is a good one.
Ongoing at Ch. 271.
It did got a bit boring in the last season, but it has picked up a good pace again.
Omniscient readers viewpoint. It’s a manwha
I just started reading the web novel a few weeks ago. Really enjoying it
The official translation is finally being published as well! Volume 1 of the novel just came out recently. If you're enjoying ORV i really recommend the official version. I also read the fan-translated epub and appreciate it a lot, but there are quite a few mistakes and mistranslations in it.
"Disastrous Necromancer" is pretty good, and "Gatekeeper Of The Boundless World looks like it's going in a good direction.
I love AoT, but it's a whole different vibe. If you go in with a taste for power fantasy, it's probably not gonna land as well as it would if you went in without those expectations.
Definitely a strong recommendation, but maybe not the best fit here.
In no particular order:
Infinite Mage
Revenge of the Iron-Blooded Sword Hound
I Became the Tyrant of a Defense Game
Latnaa Saga
Pick me up Infinite Gacha
Surviving the Game as a Barbarian
Terminally Ill Dark Knight
Academy's Extra Survival Guide
Kill the Dragon
First Hunter
To Kill the Hero
Necromancer's Evolutionary Traits
I use to be a Boss
Martial God Regressed to level 2
Skeleton Soldier couldn't protect the dungeon
Player who returned 10,000 years later
Priest of Corruption
Catastrophic Necromancer (Manuha - Bad story, but guilty pleasure fun)
Lone Necromancer
I Killed an Academy Player
The Regressed Son of a Duke is an Assassin
Reincarnator
Knight under Heart
Doom Breaker
I'm simultaneously reading 102 different manhwa currently, and filtering through what does and doesn't work for me.
There's also a few that I'm seriously pissed that got axed early, like:
FFFTrashero and I regressed to my ruined family
I was reading pick me up then reaperscans got nuked. Where do you find it?
Mangaread (dot) org
Oh, ruined family, God I missed that, it was my favorite.
I don't know where to read it.
And worse, people were complaining on how it was, then began complaining after it got Axed!
loved this!
Bones is a pretty messed up one. And sl ragnarok is a good one too
If you've got any must read I'll be glad to have in my read list. Thank you
Survival story of the strongest sword king. Funny and badass.
Those you'll not regret reading:
1- Ranker Who Lives A Second Time
2- The Beginning After The End
3- The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor
Regarding Ranker looks good so far but somehow makes me feel the way its told, has a lot of holes between the scenes/pages/sections (not sure how to explain that).
Like if it was made by a newbie. I dunno.
Second one I haven't seen.
Third one starts really good but suddenly it seems like it was made by a totally different person in the way is told and specially the art. Became so lame IMHO. Not cool anymore and feels like its going to be an eternal Cliffhanger due to the constant breaks of the author.
Not sure of the reason it has been so slow in the last months though.
The Light Novel for Second Life Ranker was far ahead of the manwha until the author asked the person doing the translations to stop. https://boxnovel.com/novel/second-life-ranker/
Extremely great read. I heard the untranslated is even further ahead so something to look forward to.
I am the sorcerer king
The first chapter already feels like a carbon copy, does the story differ in any major way?
Ya he is legit superior at start, has insane knowledge etc.
Brawling go
The best read so far, thanks for the divine inspirarion
This
Peerless dad, gosu, and red storm would be manhwa I would personally put on a similar level to solo leveling cause of how good the stories are, art style and they are big on world building so the first few chapters takes a second for the story to kick off
Mujang is better than all 3
I’ve seen solo-leveling around since like 2015 since I used to be a consistent webtoon reader. I decided to give it a shot today. I was watching mashle magic and muscle before this, but I craved something better.
Solo Leveling is so GOOOD I can’t believe it!!! I am so down bad for Sung. I am so impressed. God I know I’m watching the anime but you can see that this graphic novel is quality. The animation for fight scenes HOLY SHIT. Sung actually feels pain unlike other shonen characters. The pace and development of Sung and the story is so satisfying. I relate to him being poor and working his ass off. Also I didn’t realize I needed an anime where the protagonist is actually an adult. This did it for me. I’m going to binge the series after I catch up on the episodes. It’s 3am 😭 In a way at least when I start reading the webcomic, I can comfortably catch up on years of content.
Igris??? Fucking beautiful, I’m obsessed.
The manhwa is around since 2018
It was 3am and I was guessing lol
ah okay :)
good to see someone posting positively for once!! happy you enjoyed it, let us wait for the new season together 😋😋
"I relate to him being poor and working his ass off."
dont we all?
An amazing showwww

I just caught up with the most recent chapter and i just need more ..... the amazing art , story , plot and just the prtrayal of the MC made me binge the whole series in less than two days. Would really appreciate some good manwha /webtoon recomendations like this.
The Gamer is up there, way more lighthearted and less edgy, but oh man if you enjoy seeing a Korean Gamer exploit the rules of an interdimensional war.... He literally starts building a Tower Defense strategy at one point.
Sounds interesting ... will try it out :)

Love this manga to death but I need something to keep me busy until we get more chapters.
Basically the MC is like Jin Woo that has near limitless power. Has an enjoyable cast and the MC is badass.
Hoo boi, do I have a list for you
To add...
My Wife is a Demon Queen
Chronicles of Heavenly Demon
A Returner's Magic Should Be Special
Hardcore Leveling Warrior
Skeleton Soldier Couldn't Protect The Dungeon
The Rebirth of the Demon God
The Scholar's Reincarnation
Tales of Demon's and Gods
The Gamer
Release that Witch! (less bad ass epicness, but still a really good webtoon)
have any of these series or the series mentioned in the thread ended? just wondering because Im bad at keeping up with weekly chapters and binging is a lot more fun
When you've already read everything on both lists ;-;
where can i read these?
Can confirm, I have read and would recommend all of those, I just didn't want to make the list to long, so I just put the ones I thought were the absolute best on my list. Thanks for adding on some other good ones
I just read the sorcerer king and tbh it was a great mangha BUT the last chapters made me hate it with how they did Jessica. It just feels so stupid how she works with the god of dead. Idk why but that truly made me hate the thing, annoyed me... But in general it's still good
Interesting, thanks for the feedback. I liked how they didn't go with the typical "powerful female completely goes against her entire family because she had an experience with the MC" kinda deal. But I understand, it's rough when someone you would like to root for makes the seemingly obvious incorrect decision.
I got one reaaaaaally good. it's name is tales of demons and gods. I think it's a manhua. And it's still ongoing.
There is also eleceed it has a weak to powerful mc with a good plot and a lot of fighting scenes
heyy give me something which has a bit of romance too
Hardcore leveling warrior is a good one and it's long. It's free on webtoons.
The first season of the solo leveling sequel manwha is out and after reading the first 42 chapters I can confidently it fixes nearly every issue about the original series.
Issue #1: MC, now granted I really like Jin Woo but the complaints are true that his writing isn’t very deep or complex compared to his peers in action series. He is kind of your generic edge lord with a a heart of gold. Part of the problem is that the story aside from the beginning doesn’t really ask him to grow or change that much as a person. He fights stronger enemies sure but after he reckons with risking his life to get stronger he kinda stays the same as a character.
Sung Suho on the other hand, I really enjoyed watching how he responds to his powers and responsibility differently than Sung Jinwoo. Part of this is that Suho wasn’t a hunter before he awakened, so he never really experienced killing before, and didn’t have that intense drive for power Jin Woo had. Seeing him struggle with these things was a breath of fresh air.
Issue #2: side cast. Bro I remember early chapters of solo leveling were cooked there was absolutely no side characters that mattered at all and that only changed when Jin Woo got his shadows(that couldn’t even speak for most of the manga lol). But now? Suho not only starts off with more engaging side characters(Beru, Jin Chul, Grey). But he also takes an active role trying to connect with people, gaining new allies and leveraging his father’s previous allies to progress the story. Plus the hunters are treated so much better. S ranks like Choi and Taeygu felt like powerhouses and it was sick seeing Jin Chul piece together the puzzle of the star powder plot. Side characters just are way more active players in this story.
Issue #3: Plot(villains). It’s a real shame the solo leveling never had any real overarching villains that lasted for more than half an arc. But in Ragnarock, even an A-rank(A A-RANK HUNTER) was an engaging and menacing mini-villain, and the main villain is so good. I don’t want to spoil but it’s such a different experience reading Ragnarock and actually wondering how the villain would move in the next chapter.
Basically I think that the world of solo leveling is amazing and it really shines in the sequel manwha, I recommend everyone read it as you don’t even have to remember the main story to understand the plot. Not to mention the fights and powers are still top notch with Suho being a very different fighter than his father.
Serious question though, Solo Levelling's shallow writing is like a famously well known thing at this point, but would you really start Solo Levelling Ragnarok without finishing the OG?
To me that's kinda like recommending people to Boruto without having read Naruto, it just doesn't feel right.
I wouldn’t really not recommend solo leveling because it’s not offensive at all and is very enjoyable in terms of action and choreography, but if you really don’t like it and don’t vibe with a simpler action oriented story, it’s not necessary at all to understand Ragnarock.
Plus it does kinda make Jinwoo a more mythical figure lol which he’s treated as in the story.
Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if some non-fans, like me being one of them, believes the spinoff webnovel has already a lot of improvements. Because if a non-fan has already lost interest after reading the final page of SoLev original webnovel/webtoon, then they just see the Ragnarok story as a casual read, meaning they're not that keen in getting into it despite the lore is explained with actual depth and characters don't feel like NPCs.
My underwhelming feeling, with a tad bit of disappointments, of whatever happened with the lore and mystery-solving hints ended up getting overshadowed by power progression stuff. I think one has to be an avid fan of power fantasy stories being able to retain their keen interest in getting into the sequel/spinoff stuff. Of course at the end of the day, it depends on the individual themself. I just happen to prefer slowburn reads with an enough amount of action-packed stuff (e.g. Level 99 Princess of Dark Flare).
Ragnarock is pretty slow burn rn, for reference Jinwoo is beyond S rank normally at this point while Suho is considerably weaker.
Plus the story introduces a bunch of new story elements and a whole new threat than the previous series. Not to mention Suho’s powers and development diverge significantly
To be fair it makes sense we aren’t following Jin woo but a a different character .
None of what you mentioned sounds especially enticing.
Almost sounds like it'd be better to just pick up any ass generic work at that point
I can only imagine fans of SL being the ones who especially care about the sequel.
I really enjoyed both The Gamer and Solo Leveling. Are there any other webtoons where the mc has a similar ability and is OP. I like the idea of having stats and it being like a video game for the mc.
Second Life Ranker, Tomb Raider King, Hunter Age, King's Avatar!
Not a 100% similar but based on those I'd recommend "hardcore leveling warrior"
