Utilize Season Passes and Offers
One of the most cost-effective ways to obtain tickets for Six Flags is through season passes. Some passes offer free admission to every park within the company, which can be a significant saving if you plan to visit multiple locations [2:1]. Additionally, there are often special offers for pass holders, such as free tickets or discounts that can be redeemed using your passholder number
[2:2].
Online Deals and Dining Passes
Purchasing tickets online can sometimes come with additional perks, such as dining passes. These passes allow for unlimited meals and drinks throughout the day, which can be shared among family members to maximize value [5:2]. While food inside the parks is typically expensive, having a dining pass can help mitigate these costs.
Tailgating and Bringing Your Own Food
Another popular strategy is to bring your own food and tailgate in the parking lot. This approach allows you to avoid the high prices and low quality of park food [5:1]
[5:3]. If the park allows re-entry, this can be an excellent way to enjoy a meal without breaking the bank. However, remember that some parks may have restrictions on bringing food inside, so it's best to check their policy beforehand
[5:11].
Consider Off-Peak Visits
Visiting during off-peak times, such as weekdays or slightly rainy days, can also help save money and time. Fewer visitors mean shorter lines and potentially lower ticket prices [5:8]. This strategy not only saves money but also enhances the overall experience by allowing more rides and attractions to be enjoyed with less waiting.
Check Local Deals and Promotions
Finally, keep an eye out for local deals or promotions, especially if you're planning a visit during a special event or holiday. Sometimes local businesses or community events may offer discounted tickets or special packages that include park entry [4:6].
Hey guys,
So this is my first time ever dealing with a film festival. I saw that Anemone was there, so I got in the queue like last night, but I guess it wasn't enough to get those tickets. Daniel Day-Lewis has been my guy for a long time, so I'm really trying to catch this movie and the Q&A. Is there any other way I can get these tickets now that they are gone on the website?
Thanks!

Really hoping Jay Kelly Q&As open up more tickets...
I'm guessing the first screening is going to be really tough to get as lots of people will want to see Clooney & Sandler. The second Q&A with less celebrity wattage could be easier . . .
Edit: Nevermind I see Clooney's joining the second Q&A as well . . .
A few of the movies are actually playing at Angelika!! Don't know about Q&A but if you want to see it and it's sold out, that's your spot
I have a SFA Season Pass (bought it in summer 2024 for $49!). Where did you find this offer? I'd like to redeem it. Thanks!
Thanks! I actually found it in an email they just sent me today, too!
My advice to any SFA passholder receiving this: go to KD. SFGAdv is a mess!
I went to Great Adventure for the first time this year, immediately after going to America. I’m not sure if the absolutely terrible state America is in skewed my opinion, but I had a really good time at Great Adventure. There weren’t any rides that were terrible imo, El Toro is in my top 5 now, and operations were mostly fine. The pizza I had was good, and a huge slice. So maybe my expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised.
It is hard to have a bad time when no one is at a park. Which is the case for Great adventure all season, they've killed their Aura and attendance
Hard second, and I’m a bit of a Great Adventure apologist.
That’s what I’ve been debating on. I might just go when they build their mid shuttle coaster.
KD Haunt is great, seconded.
I thought all season passes granted free admission to every park in the company?
There is no 2025 pass from SFA

Why not go alone? I love going to parks, especially new ones, alone because I can do what I want when I want and as many times as I want. Don't get me wrong I like going to parks with friends too but if I had to choose I would go alone majority of the time. Definitely not a knock on you or anything like that I'm just always curious as to why people need to go to an amusement park with someone and not alone. Maybe I'm just a loner lol.
If you can wait, my rollercoaster group will be there on 9/27
I remember seeing yall at sfft
That was fun. We even got to be in the Mardi Gras parade.
Please tell me more about your rollercoaster group and how I can be a part of it
I visited great adventure 27 times solo, Hershey 7 times solo, Dorney 5 times solo , kings dominion and kings island both 1x solo this year alone. My fiancée moved out of state for personal reasons and I visit her once a month and we go to parks together but I like them much more than her lol don’t feel afraid to go alone if you wanted to
Find a random person on Reddit to go to the park with or just go by myself. Hmmm......
I know, I'm willing to take that risk in a public place lol. Usually people are nice in the midwest!
Plus your meeting someone at the park, it’s not like your picking them up or dropping them off
Tf you gonna do? Kidnap someone while inside the park? Pay for someone to get into the park just to find a random victim? God people are so untrusting these days of situations with near 0 risk
I go on a trip every year to new parks, did a trip from MN to MI laat year including Great America and just the nature of ending up sitting next to a random person on evsry ride, I end up meeting a lot of cool people. Sometimes its just a 5 min conversation, sometimes I end up hanging out with them all day. Once I met someone at Six Flags Over Texas that was on a similar trip and we ended up hanging out at 3 different parks. Worst case if you go by yourself you are on your own schedule and can do whatever you want when you want to do it. Or you might get lucky and randomly meet some cool people.
Might just be me, but go by yourself. You do what you want when you want. If there’s nothing wrong with a solo trip to another state or country, there’s nothing wrong with a solo trip to SF.
I WILL say, going alone is not as intimidating as you may think. You can jump in all the single rider lanes! Also literally no one will notice or care that you’re alone. I do it all the time!

Considering taking my daughters ages 8 and 14 to Six Flags this weekend. A few questions since we’ve never been. Is it worth buying tickets in advance, or the meal deal etc? I can’t tell if prepaying for the meals or drinks ahead of time is a savings or not. (Are they lenient about bringing food in?) On a hot day, would you recommend we do both the waterpark and the amusement park? It’s a bummer it doesn’t appear you can JUST do the waterpark, unless I’m looking at it wrong.
I’d love any suggestions or tips for these ages, and how to make it as cost effective as possible. If there’s another spot you’d recommend for the day, will consider as well!
Would Canobie Lake park be a better option, cost and experience wise? We live halfway between both.
For Six Flags there is a ticket with a Dining Pass you can buy online that gets you a refillable cup and unlimited meals (every 90 min or something). Totally worth it to get ONE meal pass and share. My kids and shared a chicken fingers and fries as many times as we could. Got like six meals and at least 10 refills over the full day.
Bring your own food in a cooler and tailgate. Assuming they still allow re-entry, I wouldn't pay for any food at that place. It's going to be overpriced and underquality.
Yes, the food at Six Flags is disgusting and absurdly expensive. I went with friends the other day, and we went back to the car for lunch.
But, keep in mind it is a long walk from the entrance back to the car. There's a tram, but you still have to walk over a bridge with a lot of stairs. An 8-year-old may not be able to handle it. I recommend either walking back by yourself to get the food, or getting there early and pay for preferred parking (getting there early is important, since it fills up pretty fast).
Food at Six Flags is expensive and terrible. Reentry and tailgating is the way to go.
I think Six flage has a summer pass including parking for $79.00 per person who like to go more or every other weekend. Food is way overpriced so take with you in pocket.( dry food okay in a purse)
Were you looking at Canobie Lake from your perspective or theirs? My 8yo loves the heck out of that park. It's huge to them. Maybe by 14 you're a little jaded... I get what you mean though, it's relatively small. We went 3x last year and 1x so far this summer. But I love how it's not exhausting for an old fart like me.
Would you do Canobie over Six Flags? Maybe they are really the same cost once I factor parking in.
Oh I have zero advice in that regard. Last time I went to six flags it was a different park. Though my daughter loves roller coasters so she really wants to go soon. The 2 hour drive compared to 30 to Canobie has me hesitating! I'm sure she'll win and we will go in the next few weeks... Adding in the water park seems like a major pain in the ass.
I think I can help shed light on that one.
I'd say Canobie is the more light, kid friendly amusement park. It has a couple of thrill rides, but nothing too crazy.
Six Flags is that next level up. The coasters are bigger and more plentiful. Also, the water attractions at Six Flags are probably going to be bigger and better.
If I had to put in my money's worth though, I would hit up Canobie on a slightly rainy day. From my experience, fewer people visit on days with inclimate weather, and those who do show up end up in shorter lines and riding more often.
Personally six flags over canobie for rides but if you want just a water park go to water country
Do we need to add on the water park?
We were at six flags yesterday. I wouldn't prepay for food. We went to the water park and snuck food in our bag. Nothing large just enough to get through the day. If you I would do a chair rental/cabana rental so you have a home base. It is around $50 for Six flags and HH add on. The water park is fun though and large, we were there for around 5 hours plus ride time. We did rides first, did the water park and then a few rides after
My daughter wants to bring her friends to six flags for her birthday. We will be attending on a Saturday and I’m trying not to go broke. Back in the day it was cheapest to bring soda cans and purchase at the gate. Is that still the case?
How many, total?
There are no such promotions/discounts any longer. But the Gold and Prestige passes/memberships allow you to purchase up to 6 Bring a friend tickets for $10 off the normal ticket price. Plus one bring a friend free. (Prestige technically includes two bring a friend free; but you can only use one per day so it's moot if you're only going to visit once.)
So if for example you had 7 people:
Gate price: $35*7=$245
Parking: $30
Total: $275
Alternatively, if you purchase one Gold pass, it would look like this:
Gold pass: $79
BAF Tickets (x5): $125
1x Bring a Friend Free: Free
Parking: Free (assuming everyone rides in the same vehicle)
Total: $204
So in that example of 7 people, you'd save around $70.
That's generally the best deal for a group. There are also memberships which are monthly instead of a lump sum (minimum of 12 months; but you can cancel at anytime after the 12th month). Prestige Pass gets you preferred parking (parking closer to the gate) and 15% discounts.
Depending on when you want to come, there's a chain-wide sale on passes they're calling the "MVP Sale". Those passes will be valid for the rest of this season and next season. They'll also 'include' all-park passport which means that that season pass (or passes) will work at all 40+ parks in the combined chain. (Like Six Flags Great America in Chicago, Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, etc. etc.) It hasn't been announced for Six Flags St. Louis yet but it'll come in the coming days, most likely. So if you can wait, watch for that.
Well said. At this point, it's generally worth it for at least one person in a family to have a gold pass for the season, even if you only go once, because it includes free parking. They really get you on the parking.
Thank you very much for the breakdown! Not sure what the total of people that are attending quite yet.
My friend group (14 people) and I are considering going to 6 flags during the September-October period(one time). It'll be our first time visiting. I was thinking about getting the group tickets, but I'm not really sure if that's the best. Any advice is appreciated, I'm kinda clueless!
edit: I don't have to worry about parking but probably should be thinking abt food
yeah - def go to hershey instead unless it's really out of the way (though aim for a lower crowd day) - sfgad is my home park too
but if you must, def do something like what mikegulfsierra suggested
It looks like on their website its 15 people for a group discount. The group price is $42/ ticket while individually its $55, so its still cheaper to get 15 goip tickets and not use one, or find someone who wants to he a part of the group just to dave $13 at the entrance.
Don't forget the cost of parking. You can also pre buy a pass with dining if people want that, but id say keep it simple.
Go to Hershey. It’s a hell of a lot nicer.
You might be able to save some money by getting 2 gold passes ($99 each) and 12 bring-a-friend tickets ($25 each). Each season pass holder can bring up to six friends and includes parking.
Silver passes are $79 each but have blackout dates so that might not work for you.
Blockout Dates: 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1
Do legit promo codes exist anymore? Trying to get a good deal for Six Flags Great America and I'm thinking I'm shit out of luck. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Not really. Groupon may have a deal, or if your employer has a membership to a discount ticket site. But there’s no internet codes or Coke can discounts anymore.
Single day or season pass? I saw a season pass deal posted today on Slickdeals. Groupon has a single day pass deal too.
I was in another thread with somebody who actually spoke with a relative higher up at a local park they were saying passes for next year will go on sale July 30th so maybe look out for that?
Nope. Are there some out there, sure but they are few and far between. And remember, a wise man once said.
There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.
/s
Well, there is one way. An employee can buy discounted season passes (about half off.) if you know someone who works there you might be able to work something out.
I am thinking about bringing my 8 and 5 yo to Six Flags tomorrow. I haven't been since I was a teenager. We would mostly do all the little rides. Any tips or tricks that I should know? Tentatively thinking about Hurricane Harbor too. Are there any discount tickets available?
Tips: you don’t need flash pass. It’s never busy enough to rationalize paying the extra money.
It’s also a cashless park. Credit/debit cards only.
Also, a season pass is hardly more than a one day ticket and may or may not include parking. If you might go more than once, it’s worth looking into for parking alone. Check out the website.
I love Six Flags as do my kids and we get season passes every year. But, in all honesty, single day tickets aren’t worth it unless you know your kids will actually want to ride some rides. If you were thinking Hurricane Harbor, one of the municipal water parks would be a much better experience for a single day. Less money, less waiting and so much less hassle for a single day. Manchester, Ballwin, Ellisville, and Chesterfield all have water parks. I haven’t checked them all but $10/person is probably the average. If they love those and want bigger thrills, Wapelhort and Aquaport are the next step up in thrills and price.
If you want to do Six Flags, buying season passes during the fall sale is the way to go. They will include fall weekends and then all of 2026. Pays for itself in two visits.
We have done the lodge for water fun. The thought for this trip is a trial trip to know whether to buy the passes for next year or not. I was eyeing them in Fall but didn’t want to commit. I totally get you on the value thing.
Try Tugboat Tailspin in the kiddie area is a great trial before moving on to bigger rides- Rookie Racer and Mine Train (the latter is now 48 inches). Log Flume is great way to cool off. Shazam is fun but we will never ever ride it again in the heat as it takes forever to load and you bake while waiting. Buccaneer (pirate ship) is another good one for that age but has been closed every time I’ve been there this year. Bring at least one of your own water bottles and fill them there- every one of those rides has a place to store them.
If you think you'll go twice, season passes are about the same as 2 visits. So is buying a single refillable soda cup and sharing. At that age, the kiddie area is worth it and fun, IMHO.
The water park is not as unique in the sense St. Louis has lots of water parks... and it has lots of stuff they can't do... I'm not saying don't go, but 1 parent on 2 kids at that age in a more adult geared water park area can be tough.
That said... again, if you intend to go a couple times... Get the season pass and go every few weeks and have a good hour at the water park and then do a few rides and then go home knowing you'll get to go back again. :)
Oh, and eat at the car. Unless you go like 5-7 times on your pass, the food pass restrictions are hard to really make food at the park reasonable with kids.
Pack a cooler with lunch and a blanket to save money on food and drinks. Take a picture of your kids in front of the fountain before you go into the park in case anyone gets lost and you need to ID them. Don't forget sunscreen.
You can pack your lunch and re enter after eating at your car. I think Groupon had discounted tickets.
I’m trying to buy 4 tickets to go to Six Flags Magic Mountain on July 4th. This website has a deal if you’re buying 4 or more tickets this summer. Apparently the tickets are valid on any one day before September 1, 2025.
Has anyone used this site for tickets? How do we redeem the tickets for when we want to go?
From what I've been able to gather from a quick search you have to be an employee of a company that does work with FunEx to qualify for the discount
Groupon is legit and we used it Saturday and saved 50% off the total
It's legit, You will get 4 barcodes.
That site is legit
I strongly suggest you buy the tickets through the park and not a 3rd party website. It's the only way to ensure the tickets are legit. 4 tickets for July 4th at Six Flags Magic Mountain will run you $260 total not including parking.
Cheapest way to get Six Flags tickets
Key Considerations for Getting Cheap Six Flags Tickets:
Online Discounts: Check the official Six Flags website for online promotions. They often offer discounts for purchasing tickets in advance.
Season Passes: If you plan to visit multiple times, consider a season pass. It can be more economical than buying single-day tickets.
Group Discounts: If you're going with a large group, inquire about group rates, which can significantly reduce the cost per ticket.
Coupons and Promo Codes: Look for coupons or promo codes on websites like RetailMeNot, Groupon, or even local newspapers. Sometimes, local businesses partner with Six Flags for discounts.
Special Events: Keep an eye out for special events or holidays when Six Flags may offer discounted admission or special promotions.
Membership Programs: Some credit cards or memberships (like AAA) offer discounts on theme park tickets, so check if you have any affiliations that provide savings.
Recommendation: The best approach is to combine several of these strategies. Start by checking the Six Flags website for current promotions, then look for any applicable coupons or group discounts. If you plan to visit multiple times, investing in a season pass could save you money in the long run.
