What Redditors are Saying

Emily's Favorite Gift in Stardew Valley

TL;DR Emily loves receiving gifts related to crystals and gems, with the Emerald being one of her favorites [2].

Emily's Preferences

Emily is known for her spiritual and psychic nature, which influences her preferences for gifts. She has a fondness for crystals and gems, making items like the Emerald a favorite gift [2:1]. Her reaction to receiving an Emerald can be quite unique, reflecting her deeper connection to such items [2:2].

Gift Giving Strategy

When considering what gifts to give Emily, it's beneficial to focus on items that align with her interests in spirituality and aesthetics. Gems and crystals are safe choices, as they resonate well with her personality [2:3]. This strategy not only increases heart points but also ensures a positive interaction.

Comparison with Other Characters

Unlike some other characters who have specific tastes or dislikes, such as Penny's dislike for poppies [3:12] or Leah's unexpected love for driftwood [3:2], Emily's preferences are more predictable due to her established interest in gems. This makes it easier for players to select gifts that will be appreciated.

General Gift Tips

In Stardew Valley, gifting is a key mechanic for building relationships. While some players opt for universally liked items like fruits or coffee [4:5], focusing on individual preferences can yield better results. For Emily, sticking to her favorites like gems ensures a smoother path to friendship or romance.

I just achieved perfection for the first time & got a 100% on Stardew, so wanted to share that, but there was like 10 of those posts in a last week so instead... Anyone else gets gifts from their spouse and feels like saving those instead? So many cups of coffee lol

Elliott gives me a bottle of wine every New Year’s Eve and I always keep it to be sentimental. Conversely, Sebastian’s New Year’s beer goes right in the shipping bin 😅

Shane sends me stolen Joja food in the mail constantly but Elliott only gives me morning coffees and a wine every NYE.

Joja has been closed for 2 years now and Shane has apparently stolen and hoarded the entire pizza section of their defunct frozen food aisle just to feed me every few weeks out of what I can only assume is a deep, deep hatred of Elliot and an underhanded attempt to break up my marriage.

I gave Clint's fave gift to Emily on Clint's birthday

Posted by sewmuchlab · in r/StardewValley · 2 months ago

I went to the community center in search of Clint on his birthday and found Emily admiring the community center loom instead. I gave her an emerald because I have extras and I know she likes crystals and gems... and yeah, I thought maybe she could give one to Clint, too.

I love this response. Emily knows she's admired.

Emily: "...What?"
Farmer: "Keep that chaos emerald safe, Blue!"

Which gift shocked you the most

Posted by Red_Ribbon_Sparks · in r/StardewValley · 5 months ago

Which gift either in a loved or hated way shocked you the most. I’m doing a challenge where I’m trying to give every single villager every single item in the game because why tf not yes I’m insane. So on birthdays I get a stack of 34 of an item ik the birthday person will like. Example it was Penny’s birthday so I spent the day giving out 34 poppies…

WHY ARE POPPIES A UNIVERSALLY HATED GIFT WHAT?? Oh my god I was shocked like not ONE person (minus Penny) LIKES POPPIES WHY and I thought it would be a nice gesture to Kent cuz yk BUT NO HE SAID HE WAS TORTURED WITH POPPIES WHAT😭💔

When I first started, I picked up some driftwood off the ground and was carrying it around and came across Leah, and I accidentally gave her it when I was just trying to talk to her. I was expecting her to hate it, but nope, she loved it. Just some random wood off the ground, lol.

In that same vein I was shocked that she didn't like bread. I mean she came accross as a cottagecore foodie queen with the love of truffles and salad, wine and goat cheese.

Oh, probably, and it makes sense she likes it since she's a forager too, I was just surprised because iirc the game classifies driftwood as trash, so I wasn't expecting anyone to actually like it as a gift.

Official Stardew Valley merchandise can be purchased through Fangamer, TheYetee, StardewValley.net, or Sanshee. Any links to other domains that claim to sell official merchandise are scam links. Be especially careful with any comments offering a link where you can buy clothing or a mug, these are currently the most common scam links. You can also always check the Stardew Valley Website for an up to date listing of merchandise.

After 4k+ hours, Jas finally gifted me during the Feast of the Winter Star. Spoiler for all versions.

Posted by 1031Cat · in r/StardewValley · 1 year ago

Up to this point, it was the same dialogue: "It's not much, but I hope you like it." I never put any monetary value on the gifts I get, and I do enjoy every one of them even as I gift my secret their favorite.

But this all changed last night.

Jas walked up and told me she hoped I liked a gift she found on the beach. It was clay. I thought, "Oh, how cute". Then she said she's very happy I moved to Pelican Town.

Damn. DAMN! That's the single most surprising line I had never seen before and it's now my favorite. A little girl I often ignore as I watch her jump rope on my way of collecting hard wood or talking to a senile old man living alone in a tower and she tells me she's glad I moved to town.

That's the most valuable gift anyone could get. Puts the tea set to shame.

I took the clay she gave me and put it on a table in my house. I will cherish it every day.

I cannot believe I never experienced this until now.

Now I wait to see what Vincent will say. I haven't received a gift from him, either.

I put this in a spoiler because this dialogue isn't on the wiki I could see, so people who have played this game and never got a gift from Jas can be pleasantly surprised as well.

Well done, Eric. This game never ceases to surprise and amaze me. Now you know why I have over 4k hours invested in it.

If somebody took two weeks of vacation a year, that is equivalent to the hours worked for a full two years of a 9 to 5 job. Making a bunch of assumptions, if somebody was earning a median salary for some places in the US, the after-tax take-home income could be $60k a year. So maybe $100k to $150k worth of time put in to a game that cost about $15 is quite the value ha ha.

I've easily put in a similarly disgusting amount of time in this game, but it isn't wasted if I've enjoyed all of it.

People complain about the kids gifting clay, but I feel like they know your farmer is a crafty kind of person, and they're giving something they know you'll use. That said, you should be able to craft a tea set out of 1,000 clay.

Stardew Valley Expanded Loved Gift List

Posted by liquidgeuse · in r/StardewValleyExpanded · 2 years ago

so I've gotten obsessed with Stardew Valley Expanded recently after playing Stardew through on my switch a few times over the years. Anyway! I like keeping track of villagers loved gifts, so I found this post with this spreadsheet and expanded on it.

I think I've gotten everything on there so far, though I do find myself updating it a lot. I thought I'd share for anyone to use! You can view it here, and then File > Make A Copy and then you can edit it however you'd like! I like to bold the gifts I've given. I've also made two formats, one has the characters listed horizontally, one has them vertically depending on personal preference. I've found that vertical is easier to navigate on my phone.

I should note the list definitely has spoilers.

Please let me know if you notice anything wrong or have any ideas for improvements!

Update 3/27/23: I found out that the SVE fish weren't listed for everyone so that's been updated, and Magnus also had some missing gifts, too.

Favourite favourite gifts?

Posted by futureshocking · in r/StardewValley · 3 years ago

Elliot's favourite gift being pomegranates makes me absolutely feral. I planted a tree just so that I have a permanent supply. Like yes, my free sea-foam spirit, for you I will play Hades, black dirt beneath my fingernails, the work of my hands calling red jewels from the living earth. By your command will I bind you to this underworld of soil, wrapped around with sweetness and with shells, until no boat can stay our willing descent. And joy of joys, my Persephone, you embrace it all, you do not restrict yourself to six mere seeds - no, together we will gorge on fruit until the juice runs red between our teeth. And surely summer will never come again to the Valley, for we have trapped it here, between the curtain of your hair and my calloused reaper's hands and the husks that glitter like spilt blood and rubies and the sunset over the sea...anyway, does anyone else feel a completely normal way about favourite gifts?

Wow, now I don't feel so weird.

"Spring 24.

Dear Diary,

I am both terrified and exhilarated. I had come back from the mines a bit early and dropped off some interesting stones for the barren collection at the museum. Gunther says they're a step in the right direction to restoring the displays and thanked me heartily. On my way home, I passed by the graveyard. There was Abigail.

I thought she must be remembering a loved one, but she just liked the ambience at night. I noticed he eyeing one of the pieces of quartz I found. I figured she liked them so I offered her one. She said, 'Hey, how'd you know I was hungry? This looks delicious!'

And then she ate it. I was reminded of hyenas who jaws could crack bones to devour the marrow inside. Here she was destroying the bones of the earth and savoring each bit that she ripped apart. I could do nothing but watch. It was like the beauty of a predator taking down its meal, both poetic and horrific.

I think I'm in love."

Emily’s favorite gift in stardew valley

Emily's Favorite Gifts in Stardew Valley

Emily has specific gifts that she loves, which can help you build a strong friendship with her. Here are her favorite items:

  1. Amethyst
  2. Aquamarine
  3. Cloth
  4. Emerald
  5. Jade
  6. Ruby
  7. Survival Burger
  8. Topaz

Key Considerations:

  • Gifting Schedule: You can give Emily gifts twice a week, plus on her birthday (Fall 27), when gifts are worth double friendship points.

  • Crafting and Mining: Many of her favorite gifts can be found through mining or crafting, making them relatively accessible.

  • Cooking: The Survival Burger is a cooked dish, so consider leveling up your cooking skills to prepare it.

Recommendation: Focus on collecting gems like Amethyst or Emerald, as they are not only valuable but also easy to find. Gifting her these items consistently will help you quickly increase your friendship level with her.
