Each season the battlepass offers a selection of free rewards in exchange for battle stars earnt by levelling up. Pretty much any time there’s a big crossover they release quests which also give free items. On the rare occasion (like right now) there’s a free “quest pack” available on your platforms store which once claimed will allow you to get free rewards for leveling up x amount. Then there’s also the umbrella offered each season for winning a match. Also if you’re a subscriber to ps plus you can occasionally claim “free” items on the PlayStation store.

Play during Christmas season

Damn. A few days ago the Clone Trooper skin and the pod racing emote were free to get by doing a few challenges. Also the SpiderMan pickaxe from that website challenge. I’m not sure if those will come back though.

I think the new Desdemona bundle is still up for grabs in the item shop for free.

Getting to level 100 each season gets you free stuff from the battlepass along with 300 vbucks. So if you save up 950 within 4 seasons you could unlock the entire battlepass for free, from there you’ll get 1500 vbucks each season which is enough to renew the next battlepass and so on.

Just keep and eye out on the news tab, it’ll tell you when there’s new challenges for free stuff.

Playing “Ranked” and completing challenges gets you free stuff. Doing 50 challenges will get you a free emote kinda similar to the one you got, except this one shows your rank.

Getting a win each season gets you a free umbrella themed after the season.

Oh and every Christmas there’s a bunch of free stuff.

Since most emotes cost 500V, Epic should pack like 5 based on a theme (ie: taunts, cheers, happy, dancing, etc.) and sell for a 15%, so 2125V, or something like that.

It’d be funny if they gave it out through a challenge that was just “do nothing in a match for 120 seconds”

Until the Save the World's Item Shop is released, there isn't any emotes to earn or to claim.

Log into BR, there's an item shop there where you can occasionally buy emotes

There are a few free emotes in the free pass

Load up BR and buy them in the shop, then go back to STW.

Eventually they'll add the cosmetic shop to STW after the locker is complete.

if you play STW and stack vbucks then just buy them from the BR store. you don't have to actually play it

You can make another account and play with yourself in a Tablet, cellphone or browser tab on Xbox cloud gaming, meanwhile you play the regular way. You wouldn't be able to play on both places, of course, but it doesn't matter, just play on your console and do the daily quest and it would start to gain points to earn the emote.
