Understand Platform-Specific Content
Twitter engagement requires content that resonates with its audience. Unlike other platforms, Twitter thrives on relatability and conversation. Content such as jokes or commentary that people can relate to tends to perform well [1:1]. Rewriting your content specifically for Twitter might be necessary, as simply posting with hashtags may not suffice. Experimentation is key, and using Twitter's promotion tools can help expand reach.
Engage Actively
Twitter is a platform where direct interaction is crucial. It’s not just about broadcasting; it’s about engaging in conversations. Start discussions, join ongoing ones, and interact with users directly [1:2]. This active participation helps build relationships and increases visibility over time. Twitter is considered one of the harder platforms because it requires genuine interaction rather than just promotional posts.
Leverage Competitor Strategies
Analyzing competitors can provide insights into successful strategies. Observe how they use social media—whether through thought leadership, polls, trending hashtags, GIFs, or videos—and emulate effective approaches [2:2]. Following their followers and engaging with their tweets can also help grow your own audience.
Use Trending Topics and Timing
Incorporating trending topics into your daily tweets can significantly boost engagement [2:3]. Additionally, timing your tweets to when your audience is most active can enhance visibility. AI tools can assist in determining optimal posting times and scheduling tweets
[2:4].
Pre-Post Engagement Strategy
Engaging with your audience before posting can warm up your account and increase post visibility [3:1]. Think of it as preparing the ground for your content to be received better by interacting with others beforehand. This strategy can be particularly effective for boosting initial engagement.
Consider Alternative Platforms
If Twitter engagement remains challenging despite efforts, exploring other platforms like TikTok or YouTube Shorts could be beneficial [2:8]. These platforms have different dynamics and might suit your content style better, offering alternative avenues for reaching your audience.
Hello,
I run a website which had decent engagement on facebook, reddit, pinterest but I am having issue with Twitter. We post there regularly witth hashtags which are connected to our content, but the same content which has high engagement in other platforms generates nothing on Twitter. We started using tweeter 2 months ago and we only have 3 followers.
I feel like alot of people and company's use Twitter wrong.(just my opinion) I dont promote on Twitter anymore then maybe a bio and the occasional promotional post.
Twitter is where you go to talk to people. So start talking. Start conversations, join conversations Its real leg work. Takes thought. Twitter is one of the harder platforms IMO.
(This is my experince from My personal Twitter that has 1153 followers. Not alot but more then some.)
Content that does well on twitter is content that people relate to (jokes/comedy are the gold standard). Consider re-writing the content for the new platform. Posting a tweet with hashtags alone isn't ever enough to gain traction. Get experimental with it and if you really want to expand your reach, you can always use the promotion tools.
My main piece of advise is if you've had success on other platforms consider cross promotion and not using twitter as your main platform.
Looking for good content feedback/s to help increase my Twitter following.
Identify who your competitors are. Check their social strategy. Are they going for thought leadership, polls, trending hashtags, GIFs, or video. How are they using social media to engage and drive traffic? See if their approach is working.
Follow their followers, engage with their tweets, and post similarly to them. If it works for them, it should work for you.
Look at the what's trending page every day and incorporate one of those things into one tweet every day. Way easier to create a convo around what is trending.
Follow people in your niche. Engage their account. comment on their tweets. Like and quote some comments and tweets. Post valuable tweets in your niche. Use AI to pick the right timing to tweets and schedule your tweets for you. Tweet 5 times a day everyday. Drop 2 threads a week every week. Or hire a ghostwriter to do it for you.
Stay consistent and check back in December.
Great info! Any specific AI you can recommend or way to go about getting an AI to determine this? Thank you so much.
Tweet Hunter.
where can one find a ghostwriter who specializes in decent business meme content?
Seems like when I do threads, it's like talking to a wall. I have just barely under 500 followers.
https://twitter.com/xovellii go viral with ease.
same lmao
Move to tiktok or YouTube shorts instead.
Some valuable comments here.
Though I am thinking that if you are experimenting in multiple niches/industries, the best would be that you have separate audiences (accounts).
And all that engagement takes precious time ... at the moment I am trying to solve my problem of lacking followers by building Twitter bots. They are retweeting selected hashtags, etc. In some cases I have about 100 new followers a month, all automated.
Let’s talk about social media engagement—because let’s be real, if you’re just posting and ghosting, you’re basically screaming into the void
Why Engagement Matters
Engagement isn’t just about feeling popular—it gives more visibility, reach, and even sales. More engagement means people your content, so the algorithm loves you too. And when the algorithm loves you? BOOM—more people see your content.
Here’s a hack creators don’t use enough. Don’t just post and hope for the best. Engage BEFORE you post. Think of it like warming up before a workout—except instead of stretching, you’re out there liking, commenting, and hyping up other people’s content. Do this, and when you finally post? The algorithm is like, “Oh hey, this person is active. Let’s boost their post too!”
If you want more followers and engagement, you can also try this technique:
Another tip: Social media posts have the lifespan of a mayfly. But you can stretch it! The first 20 minutes after posting? CRUCIAL. That’s when you need engagement the most. And here’s a sneaky trick: delay replying to comments. If your post is dying out, drop a reply, and BAM—it’s back in the feed. Don’t have comments on your posts? Add the first comment yourself.
So, if you want to stop screaming into the void and actually get seen, remember: engage before you post, time your comments, and be active!
Engagement before posting? Brilliant. I've seen this work wonders for my SaaS products. Quick tip: Use tools to schedule interactions, saving time while boosting visibility.
Hey guys!
I’ve been dealing with the frustration of not getting enough engagement on my posts. It’s tough putting in the work and still feeling like your content isn’t getting the attention it deserves. After trying a few things, I’ve learned that it’s not just about posting frequently, it’s about being smart with your strategy.
Here’s what’s helped me:
It’s been a bit of a journey, but I’ve seen improvements. What’s worked for you guys in boosting engagement and getting more likes? Would love to hear your strategies!
100% agree! I was stuck with low likes too, but once I switched up my strategies, captions, and content style, my engagement improved a lot. I can share the full breakdown if anyone’s interested 👌🔥
Nice! I’d be interested in the breakdown.

Here’s how you can significantly boost your Facebook engagement with simple yet powerful strategies:
Timing is crucial! Use Facebook Insights to determine when your followers are most active and schedule your posts accordingly. Typically, evenings and weekends see higher engagement.
People engage with content that adds value. Use eye-catching images, engaging videos, and well-written captions to attract attention. Share stories, behind-the-scenes content, and user-generated posts to foster community interaction.
Posts that ask for opinions, preferences, or experiences spark discussions. Try polls, “This or That” comparisons, or open-ended questions to encourage followers to comment.
Stories and Reels are highly visible and interactive. Use them for quick updates, behind-the-scenes moments, or fun challenges to keep your audience engaged daily.
People love free stuff! Organize simple contests where users have to like, comment, or share to participate. Just ensure the prize is relevant to your brand to attract the right audience.
Engagement is a two-way street. Respond to comments and messages promptly to show your audience you care, which encourages more interaction.
Guide your audience on what to do next. Simple CTAs like “Tag a friend who needs this,” “Drop an emoji if you agree,” or “Share this if you found it helpful” can drive more interactions.
Join or create groups related to your niche. Engaging in group discussions and sharing valuable insights can drive traffic and engagement to your main page.
Live videos receive significantly more engagement than pre-recorded ones. Host Q&A sessions, behind-the-scenes tours, or product demonstrations to interact with your audience in real time.
Use Facebook Insights to track what works. Double down on high-performing content and tweak underperforming posts for better results.
By implementing these strategies consistently, you can see a massive increase in your Facebook engagement.
One of the easiest ways to boost your Facebook engagement is by making your posts more human and relatable. People connect better with casual content like funny memes, real-life moments, or even simple quotes that reflect everyday emotions.
Try asking questions or creating small polls to spark conversations. Short videos or reels also perform way better than just text posts. And timing matters too, so post when your audience is actually online.
Engage back with your audience. Like their comments, reply quickly, and show that you care. It creates a loop where more people interact and your reach keeps growing naturally.
In the world of Instagram marketing, many people focus on increasing their follower count. While having a large audience can be beneficial, engagement—likes, comments, shares, and saves—is a far more critical metric for success. Here’s why engagement holds more value than simply accumulating followers.
A high number of followers does not guarantee that your content is being seen or appreciated. Instagram’s algorithm prioritizes content that generates interaction. When users engage with your posts, it signals to the platform that your content is valuable, leading to increased visibility on feeds, Explore pages, and even Instagram Reels.
Instagram’s algorithm rewards engagement. If a post receives many interactions within a short time, it is more likely to be shown to a broader audience. On the other hand, an account with thousands of inactive followers (who rarely like or comment) may struggle with reach, limiting its growth potential.
For businesses and influencers, engagement translates to better conversions. Whether the goal is to drive traffic to a website, sell products, or increase brand awareness, an engaged audience is more likely to take action than a passive follower base. A smaller, highly engaged community will often yield better results than a large but unresponsive one.
Engagement fosters trust. When followers interact with content, it creates a sense of community and authenticity. Brands with high engagement appear more credible and relatable than those with inflated follower counts but minimal interactions. Authentic conversations in comments and DMs enhance brand loyalty and long-term relationships.
Follower count can be misleading because some users resort to buying followers, which results in a high number of inactive accounts. This tactic may make an account look popular, but without genuine engagement, it adds no real value. Brands and influencers with meaningful interactions stand out more than those with a hollow following.
While followers provide a foundation for reach, engagement determines success on Instagram. Prioritizing real interactions—responding to comments, encouraging discussions, and posting engaging content—will help build a strong, loyal community. Instead of focusing solely on growing followers, businesses and influencers should aim for a high level of engagement to achieve real impact.
Having a big follower count looks cool, but if no one’s liking, commenting, or sharing your posts, it doesn’t really help your growth. Engagement shows how active and loyal your audience is — and that’s what the Instagram algorithm actually cares about.
Brands and even the algorithm prefer accounts with better engagement, not just big numbers. It means your content is connecting with people, and they’re more likely to trust you or buy from you.
You could have 5,000 followers and get better results than someone with 50K if your audience genuinely interacts. So always focus on building real connections, not just chasing numbers.
I have 900 followers on my Twitter account but my engagement is almost non existent and it bums me out. How do I get better engagement??
I have been trying to make Twitter work for a while now, but they have a seriously bad algorithm that seems to discourage engagement. It is probably the worst social media platform for engagement. I don't even know how it still exists.
I have also had the same problem. Is there an alternative?
No. I would not recommend Facebook and IG either, because they have virtually killed off organic reach. Seemingly, the only platform that allows for organic growth is Tik Tok, but that is only if you want to do videos for a younger audience.
Hey guys! I am a full-time content creator and in 2024 Instagram was really really good to me. I started posting my old TikTok’s onto Instagram reels and they were getting insane amounts of engagement. I, like others on this sub, Reddit, I’m feeling the loss of engagement starting with the new year. My reels are getting a fraction of the views they used to, which is frustrating because I feel like my content has only gotten much better.
So here are some of my favorite ways to boost engagement on my Instagram page:
-going live on Instagram. I try to go live once a day or every other day just to check in and let people know that I’ve posted something new. It usually results in a little bit more engagement on the brand new post of the day. However, I need to get better at doing longer streams on Instagram and just chitchatting and building more of a relationship with the followers rather than just tune in to say “ hey go like this new post” and then dip. However the live feature on Instagram sucks because not only is the latency sooooooo long but streams are not even discoverable they way they are on TikTok. So they don’t result in new followers.
-going live on my twitter and telling them to go comment on my new post. I like to go live on x where I have a huge following and tell them that if I hit a certain amount of new comments on my newest post I’ll do something fun on stream (I am an OF content creator as well as short form video creator, please no judgement, I know this tip won’t work for everyone). This one usually results in a massive amount of brand, new comments however I haven’t seen it do much in terms of getting the ball rolling on a post and getting it pushed out to more people on the Instagram platform. It doesn’t seem to really ignite the algorithm so but maybe I just have to keep trying harder or go about it in a different way. By the way I also do this in my TikTok as well- going live and letting them know I have a new post up on Instagram because lately I have not been cross-posting every single thing to both of them and letting some things stand alone on each platform to keep some uniqueness between the two.
-sharing my new post to my Instagram story with a sticker over it covering the majority of the image or video so they have to click it to go see the full post. This is something simple I do every single time I post out of habit. It helps to sandwich these in between regular selfies or something in my story that is tried-and-true to get my stories a lot of views, which is usually a selfie or a short video of me talking about something. Make sure these kinds of posts that get the most views on your story are first on the story sequence.
This is about all I have right now, and I really would love if you all shared your ideas/strategies that you personally use to help maximize your engagement with me in the comments below. let’s get these views back up yall. (PS wondering about any of yalls luck with trial reels as well?)
Thanks for this. I feel like my reach has hit an ultimate low and I am missing some of my loyal followers in my inbox! I find that sharing my post in stories lowers my reach significantly and I'm almost afraid to do it - anyone else? The biggest reach I get on sharing only 1 story per day which is so counterintuitive for a social media. :D
I need to incorporate more interactive actions to my stories ...
I’ve also found that when I incorporate stores with sliders, polls, etc is makes the story views jump up a lot. Instagram likes when you use those kinds of features. So also maybe the templates etc but I don’t use that one much.
Hi, this is a reminder to not promote your instagram page here, thanks.
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.
so the loss of engagement is something other folks are experiencing too huh? i know everyone always blames the algorithm for their bad engagement lol but this time, i actually feel like something is going on. my reach/engagement is the lowest it's ever been
You are not alone. check some of the posts on this forum from the last week or two. Lots of people are experiencing it ever since the TT ban. I think a lot of people are legitimately boycotting the platform and stuff, might be why we are seeing a drop, or at least part of the reason
This is a good tool. 30k followers in 6 months for me https://www.tonfollowers.com/register/r/208370
Buying fake followers is lame and hurts your account
This is a great post! Can totally relate to the drop in engagement this year— it’s been rough even though I feel like my content’s way better now too. I also do the story sticker thing and it definitely helps with getting clicks but going live regularly is something I definitely need to get more consistent with. I want to add that I saw better engagement when I cross-promoted content between platforms, and used some external promo boosts (like Marketing Heaven) just to help newer posts to catch some algorithm traction. Also curious about your experience with trial reels! Have you seen any decent results from them?
I comment on posts in my niche for fifteen minutes before I hit publish, as opposed to posting and ghosting. Genuine, considerate responses—not merely "great post!" or emojis
What takes place? Some of those individuals look at my profile, and all of a sudden, my post receives more early views and interaction. It's relationship-friendly as well as algorithm-friendly.
Try leading with interaction if you feel like you're shouting into thin air. Humans, not just content, are what people react to.
thats sneaky, by commenting on others before posting yourself makes your post standout when people recognize you earlier, thats a nice trick.
Honestly, this feels kinda irrelevant unless you're a viewer who's already in the habit of commenting first.
I get the idea, but I don't really see how it helps that much if you're not already in someone's circle.
Like, sur engagement is good, but does this really move the needle for most people? Not sure.
how to increase twitter engagement
Key Considerations for Increasing Twitter Engagement:
Quality Content: Share valuable, informative, and entertaining content that resonates with your audience. Use a mix of text, images, videos, and polls to keep your feed dynamic.
