What Redditors are Saying

How to Increase YouTube Video Views

TL;DR

  • Optimize titles, thumbnails, and descriptions for SEO.
  • Collaborate with other creators.
  • Use social media strategically.
  • Consider Google Ads for promotion.

Optimize Titles, Thumbnails, and Descriptions

Creating engaging titles and thumbnails is crucial for attracting viewers. Your title should be descriptive and include relevant keywords to enhance searchability [4:1]. Thumbnails should be eye-catching but not misleading, as they are the first thing potential viewers see [3:1][5:1]. It's also important to ensure your video descriptions are rich in keywords to improve SEO [2:2].

Collaborations and Networking

Collaborating with other YouTubers can significantly boost your channel's visibility. Working with channels similar to yours can introduce you to a new audience and increase subscriber count [1:2][1:4]. Additionally, creating a community around your content, such as through Discord, can help maintain engagement [5:6].

Social Media and Cross-Promotion

While some users found Facebook less effective, Reddit and Google searches were mentioned as useful platforms for driving traffic [1:2]. Sharing videos on various social media platforms can extend your reach beyond YouTube [3:1]. However, it's essential to post in relevant groups and forums where your target audience is active.

Paid Advertising

Utilizing Google Ads can be an effective way to increase views and gain genuine subscribers [1:1]. This method allows you to target specific demographics and interests, potentially leading to higher engagement rates. However, it requires a budget, so weigh the costs against potential benefits.

Content Quality and Consistency

High-quality content that keeps viewers engaged is fundamental. Ensure your videos are well-edited, with good audio and visual quality [3:2][5:3]. Consistent posting helps retain viewers and attract new ones, but the content must resonate with a broad audience to maximize viewership [5:1].

ORIGINAL POST

We have been uploading new videos on our YouTube channel 5 days a week, so we succeeded to achieve a consistent posting.

The next step is increasing engagement and the number of video views.

We have tried out reposting links in relevant groups on Facebook and Reddit, which brought us dozens of views.

What other effective methods of boosting video views can you recommend?

Obviously for somebody on YouTube to click ur video your thumbnail has to be reall good. On reddit etc. You have to have interesting titles. And then just go like you said with posting in relevant socials like reddit etc.

I did a collaboration with someone that had a channel just like mine and when the video dropped on his channel I got like 60 subs right away

I find posting on facebook pretty much a waste I never get any views from there. Most mine come from reddit and google searches so make sure you have good words in title to show up in google

The key to getting traffic is having great CTR, hitting the right niches and optimizing your titles and description with SEO. Your thumbnails are good, though I think the text is a little too small, it's just about readable on desktop but on mobile its tough. A good rule of thumb to follow is to make your text at least 25-30% of the size of your thumbnail to make sure people can read it.

The main issue with your current low views (for your channel size) is that most people probably subbed for your Jolly Battle videos, and with your pivot into Kids Arts & Craft, you are finding out your subs aren't that interested in that content. As such, its like starting a new channel, and you are getting the expected traffic of a low sub channel.

How to get more views on YouTube

Posted by R3LOGICS · in r/MarketingGeek · 6 months ago

Getting more views on YouTube requires a combination of high-quality content, strategic optimization, and consistent engagement with your audience. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced creator, these strategies will help boost your views and grow your channel.

1. Create High-Quality and Engaging Content

The most important factor in gaining more views is creating content that keeps viewers engaged. Your videos should be:

  • Well-edited and visually appealing: Use good lighting, clear audio, and smooth editing.
  • Informative or entertaining: Your content should provide value, whether it’s educational, funny, or inspiring.
  • Unique and original: Find a niche or perspective that sets you apart from others.

2. Optimize Your Video Titles and Descriptions

A compelling title encourages people to click on your video. Follow these best practices:

  • Use clear and attention-grabbing titles (e.g., "10 Easy Ways to Lose Weight Fast").
  • Include relevant keywords to improve search rankings.
  • Make it concise but intriguing (avoid misleading clickbait).

Your description should:

  • Provide a brief summary of the video.
  • Include relevant keywords naturally.
  • Add timestamps, links, and CTAs (calls to action).

3. Use Eye-Catching Thumbnails

Thumbnails play a huge role in attracting clicks. To make yours stand out:

  • Use high-quality images and bold text.
  • Show an interesting facial expression or action.
  • Stick to a consistent style to create brand identity.

4. Leverage SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

YouTube is the second-largest search engine, so optimizing for search is crucial. To rank higher:

  • Use relevant keywords in the title, description, and tags.
  • Add closed captions and subtitles to improve accessibility and SEO.
  • Use YouTube hashtags to help categorize your video.

5. Promote Your Videos on Social Media

Share your videos across multiple platforms like:

  • Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to reach a wider audience.
  • Reddit and Quora if your content answers specific questions.
  • Pinterest if you create visually appealing content.

6. Engage With Your Audience

Building a loyal community helps increase views over time. To do this:

  • Reply to comments and interact with viewers.
  • Ask questions to encourage discussions.
  • Create polls and use YouTube’s Community tab.

7. Collaborate With Other YouTubers

Partnering with creators in your niche can introduce your channel to a new audience. Try:

  • Guest appearances on each other’s videos.
  • Shoutouts and mentions to cross-promote channels.
  • Challenges and collabs that entertain viewers.

8. Post Videos Consistently

A consistent upload schedule keeps your audience engaged.

  • Post at least once a week to stay relevant.
  • Use a content calendar to plan ahead.
  • Experiment with different video lengths to see what performs best.

9. Use Playlists to Keep Viewers Watching

Playlists automatically play videos in sequence, increasing watch time.

  • Group related videos into playlists.
  • Use compelling titles for playlists (e.g., "Best Travel Vlogs 2024").
  • Feature playlists on your channel homepage.

10. Analyze Your Performance and Improve

Use YouTube Analytics to track your performance.

  • Identify which videos get the most views.
  • Check audience retention rates and adjust content accordingly.
  • Test different formats, thumbnails, and posting times.

Conclusion

Getting more views on YouTube requires patience, consistency, and strategy. By creating high-quality content, optimizing for search, engaging with your audience, and leveraging social media, you can grow your channel and reach a larger audience. Keep experimenting, analyzing, and improving to maximize your success!

I feel that to increase views on YouTube, a catchy title and thumbnail work first. I use the right keywords in the tags and description of the video so that it appears in search. I make the video engaging so that people watch it till the end, and I upload regular videos. I also share it on other platforms for extra reach.

Getting views on YouTube is not just about uploading videos, it’s about how you present them. Your thumbnail and title are the first things people see, so make sure they grab attention instantly. Don’t go too clickbaity though, just enough to spark curiosity.

Also, try to keep people watching longer. If your video has good watch time, YouTube will push it more. Use trending topics if possible, and don’t forget to share your videos on Reddit, Facebook groups, or even WhatsApp.

Sometimes it’s slow in the beginning, but if you stay consistent, your views will grow over time.

Don't however buy views and subs.

Yes, check out how to do better audio, video, and content. Then work on your titles and thumbnails.

Remember audio is the most important things. People will deal with sub par footage but if it's painful to listen too they will instantly stop watching

If you are posting at least once every month or two, consistency doesn't really matter. Here's what matters: your video need to be widely recognizable and understanding through the thumbnail and title. Your video needs to be interesting to a huge general audience. It needs to get them to click and keep them watching. That's literally the only factors that matter. To summarize:

  1. widely appealing and understandable
  2. Gets clicks
  3. keeps people watching

Has anyone tried boosting views to hit YouTube’s monetization threshold? Did it help?

Posted by amandeepkaur8769098 · in r/SmallYTChannel · 1 month ago

Hey all,

I’m getting closer to YouTube monetization, but hitting the required views and watch time has been tough. Despite putting in the effort, my videos aren’t gaining the traction I need to reach that next level.

I’ve been hearing a lot about using third-party tools to boost views, and I’m curious if anyone has tried this route. Did it really help with video visibility, getting your content in front of a larger audience, or improving engagement? If you’ve used it, how did it affect your growth and progress toward monetization?

I’m just looking for any advice or insights from people who’ve actually used these tools and how they worked for you. Would love to hear what’s been effective!

It only hurts your channel. You need views to make money. If you boost your sub count, that won't lead to views. Subs at the end of the day don't matter, it's views and CTR that add up to your channel being successful.

The boost would be fake. Ghost subs that don’t view your content which will kill your channel. To be successful, you must grow an organic community of subscribers that want to watch your content. Getting bot followers might get you visibility but not real subscribers.

Turbo Tips: Outsmarting Youtube with Comment Highlighting, Thumbnail A/B Testing, and Persnal Engagement

Posted by wabadboy1334 · in r/TurboRank · 18 days ago

Hey creators, we’re back with your Three-Minute Turbo Tips—fast, actionable YouTube strategies to help you beat the algorithm and outpace your competition. If you’ve been wondering how to get views on YouTube, how to get subscribers on YouTube fast, or even just how to get more views on YouTube consistently, these tips are exactly what you need. Let’s dive in!

1. Comment Highlighting: Turn Replies Into Reach

YouTube has rolled out a powerful new feature called comment highlighting. Here’s how it works:

When someone replies to a comment on your video, YouTube bumps that video higher up in their feed. That means comments are no longer just about conversation, they’re free distribution.

If you’re learning how to get views on YouTube, this is one of the simplest hacks you can use right now. Each reply equals more reach, which equals how to get more views on YouTube without paying a dime.

How to use it:

  • Pin a simple, easy-to-answer question like “What was your favorite part of the video?”
  • Encourage replies, then reply back yourself.
  • The more interaction, the more engagement signals you send.

Think of it like starting a fire, all it needs is a spark. Engagement through comments is one of the fastest ways for beginners to learn how to get subscribers on YouTube fast, since loyal fans often come from conversations.

2. Thumbnail A/B Testing: Data-Driven First Impressions

Finally, YouTube has made thumbnail A/B testing native inside the platform. No more third-party hacks, just real data showing which thumbnail drives more clicks.

Quick win ideas to test:

  • A clean, minimal design vs. a bold, high-contrast version.
  • Subtle and sleek vs. loud neon that screams “click me!”

At TurboRank, we A/B test thumbnails constantly. Why? Because the thumbnail is your first impression, and figuring out how to get views on YouTube starts with click-through rate. The right thumbnail is literally how to get more views on YouTube before the first second even plays.

And when your thumbnails attract attention, you also discover how to get subscribers on YouTube fast, since more views naturally convert into more loyal fans.

3. Personal Engagement: Beyond Views and Likes

This year, YouTube is shifting focus from raw numbers to personal engagement. Here’s the big change:

  • The algorithm cares less about total views and likes.
  • It now prioritizes who is actually enjoying your content.
  • Recommendations are based on individual viewer preferences, not just what’s trending.

So if you’re serious about how to get views on YouTube that actually matter, you need to go deeper. Craft content that resonates with your real audience. Analyze retention graphs closely, and remember that long-term loyalty is how to get subscribers on YouTube fast in a sustainable way.

Views are great, but without a loyal base, momentum fades. The creators who truly master how to get more views on YouTube are the ones building community, not chasing vanity metrics.

Final Thoughts

That wraps up this week’s Three-Minute Turbo Tips. Remember:

  • Comments spark distribution (and show you how to get views on YouTube quickly).
  • Thumbnails set the tone (and are key for how to get more views on YouTube).
  • Engagement builds loyalty (and is the foundation of how to get subscribers on YouTube fast).

When you’re ready to level up your channel, TurboRank is here to help. We don’t just rank you, we turbocharge your success.

Stay tuned for more fast, simple YouTube strategies to keep you growing every week.

Turbo tips are basically: be human. Reply to comments, try a couple of thumbnails, and actually chat with your audience. YouTube notices effort, your viewers notice effort, and suddenly growth happens without you spamming nonsense everywhere.

1 upvotes on reddit

Outsmarting YouTube isn’t magic. It’s commenting smart, testing thumbnails, and actually talking to your audience instead of posting and praying. Do it right and you’re the algorithm’s favorite. Do it wrong and it gently ignores your existence.

Ok_Winner4961 · 13 days ago

Turbo tips are just about being smart, helpful, and a little playful: reply to comments, try different thumbnails, and actually chat with your viewers. Done right, the algorithm smiles. Done wrong… well, you still tried, and that counts.

Anyone know any ways to gain more views on a video?

Posted by D_nzz · in r/youtube · 4 years ago

Im a really small "youtuber" with around ~250 subscribers and even when I put alot of work into editing a video, (Video itself, Thumbnail, description, tags, etc), I still only get around 150 views max. I've tried a lot of things but the content im looking to create (gaming) in the specific games I like, they usually just don't get a lot of traction and just end up dying out. Any tips on how to increase views on my videos / livestreams? Like I said before, I've already tried the basic things such as thumbnails, titles, etc. And no, i'm not posting videos about a highly saturated game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is it. Alot of content requires backlogs. No one wants to watch a show that only has 1 episode online. But when they see 45 episodes, they get excited because there's MORE to watch if they like it.

Also more content helps them get a fuller picture of what kind of content you make. Rather than a one off video being good.

Depends on what you want to achieve... it will help a little with visibility but you will find it's really not worth the cost since you can't guarantee that a person that clicks your add will return.

Plus... ad blockers...

You make content that your audience wants to watch.

There's no shortcut to this. Buying ads will make numbers go up once. Promotion will get a handful of views. The long term success plan that channels have is to build up a following around a particular kind of content that is in demand and they churn out nothing but that specific kind of content.

The #1 simple trick to double your YouTube views (you're missing this!) (I will not promote)

Posted by Mendeleo · in r/startups · 6 months ago

Before uploading your video, make sure you are using keywords in your title and your description. A little trick that can help you is going to ChatGPT to copy and paste your video script to get relevant keywords within the 500-character limit. Keep in mind you can also use the option of adding chapters to add more keywords and improve the viewing experience.

Once you publish your video, write a comment with a call to action or question to improve your engagement in those crucial first 24 hours. You can also create a GIF related to your new video and share it on the community tab with a brief description and a link to the video. Make sure this goes out shortly after the video is uploaded. And for every long-form video, create multiple short-form clips for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. In the captions and within your short-form videos, include a call to action to encourage viewers to watch the full-length video.

If a video is underperforming, use A/B to test the thumbnail or title, but focus on testing one element at a time. You can also A/B test thumbnails for free directly in YouTube Studio, but keep in mind it offers less data.

I will not promote.

This is solid advice—especially the part about dropping a comment with a CTA right after publishing. That engagement spike in the first 24 hours really does move the needle. I’d also add:

  • Repurpose strategically – Don’t just clip at random. Pick 2–3 emotional or high-value moments that actually tease the full video’s payoff.
  • Don’t overcomplicate A/B testing – Start with just title vs. title. Thumbnail testing only makes sense once you have enough traffic to detect a signal.
  • Use your own comments section – Reply to your pinned comment as you post updates or behind-the-scenes stuff. That threads attention where it counts.

Curious: What’s been your best-performing tactic for turning Shorts into full video views?
