Overview of Achievements
Subnautica has a total of 17 achievements, which players can mostly unlock by completing the main story [1:2],
[2:1]. The game is designed such that players naturally earn most achievements as they progress through the narrative. However, there are a few achievements that might require specific actions or exploration beyond the main storyline
[4:2].
Secret Achievements
All achievements in Subnautica are considered secret to prevent spoilers [5:2]. These achievements often involve discovering alien bases, crafting vehicles, and other significant in-game activities
[5:7]. Players can reveal these secret achievements by clicking on them in the achievement list
[5:3],
[5:9].
Common Issues and Solutions
Some players have reported issues with achievements not unlocking properly after updates [1]. If you find yourself missing achievements after completing the game, it may be worth revisiting your save file before the final objective and ensuring all necessary actions are completed
[4:2]. Additionally, searching online for guides or walkthroughs can provide clarity on any missed achievements
[5:4].
Tips for Completion
To ensure you unlock all achievements, focus on thoroughly exploring the game world and engaging with all aspects of gameplay, including crafting and interacting with various elements [5:10]. For Subnautica: Below Zero, additional achievements may include building specific items like the Snow Fox or listening to the jukebox
[5:6],
[5:8].
By following these guidelines and being attentive to the game's progression and exploration opportunities, you should be able to unlock all achievements in Subnautica.
Only 17 achievements?
Yes it's rather fast, only 17 hours of quiet play for me.
The game is 100% very simple, but often scary.
Yeah, I have thalassophobia, playing this game scared the shit out of me I couldn't play it especially during the night.
awesome job
Wish Subnautica had more of them, you basically get them all just for doing the main story.
There isn't a way to beat the game legitimately without getting all achievements. You kinda have no choice.
well you don’t have to get the degassi or cuddlefish achievement.
What?
I finished the game and it didn’t give me the last two.
rip
Never played it. How challenging was getting this to 100%?
Both are pretty easy, doing the story nets you most of the achievements.
You might only miss on 1 or 2 in the first one, pretty sure you can miss more but you'll get it naturally on your way, like you have to purposefully go out of your way in order to not get some of the rest.
It is around 4-5 I would say for the second one.
Either way, even if you do miss any achievements in either of them what you can do is to simply load up your save, the game won't let you save past the final objective, which I do not want to say to avoid spoilers, and simply do what you had forgotten.
Worth mentioning, It took me 21 hours and 15 hours respectively.
Not bad!
Not sure about below zero, but the first one you 100% by beating the game
I can't wait for Subnautica 2 to come out next year. I really hope it is as good as the first one.
Excellent games, congratulations on finishing them.
Nice to meet a fellow passenger on the hypetrain (or would it be a sub?) into the dark and deep waters of Subnautica 2.
Yeah, I can't quite find another game like it, so very happy about another instalment in the series.
Favorite one and why?
I'd say in terms of story, the first one is better. I can't say much without giving spoilers but it just didn't hit.
But for gameplay I do think the second one is better, it is a lot less linear in comparison to first one (but still somewhat is), like for the story in the first one in over exaggerating words; find a facility, craft depth modules and go deeper to find the next facility, the second one is still somewhat like that but you have some objectives to do on land which differs it.
One more thing is that hostile creatures seem to attack more often, don't get me wrong they still don't deal enough of a damage to worry about, as long as you are in a vehicle with good health you don't have to worry and I think it's because they managed make the AI better, just a guess.
I also noticed that they tried to make upgrades a bit more challenging, for example to craft a seatruck depth module MK1, you need diamonds, the seatruck without it has a depth limit of 150 meters but the diamonds are usually found below that height (there are some exceptions obviously) so you'll have to take the risk of getting out of your vehicle and quickly finding some diamond and hoping back in without running out of oxygen.
If you asked me which one I preferred I would say Below Zero but it's not by much.
I didnt like the AI of the titans in below zero because of their attack moves, which stun lock onto your ship and then they swim away. You just have to avoid them until the next round of stun lock.
The 2nd one had too much on land. If there was more below the sea and deeper that's what made the first one way better.
I really need to circle back around to these at some point. Got about two thirds of the way through the first game and then lost my save file when my HDD died, didn't realize it wasn't saving the file on the cloud…
EDIT: i seem to have forgotten ALL the achievements are secret 😅 my bad yall
I think if you click on them there will be a option to reveal it
There’s an option to reveal them if you click on em :>
They’re just secret so you don’t get spoiled by an achievement.
good luck getting all the achievements :>
Search on Google for secret achievements
It’s usually just discovering >!alien bases!< and making vehicles and other (spoiler stuff)
Yes but i've played through this game so many times and still nothing 😭
Cuddlefish? Edit: Wrong game Try building a hoverbike, listening to the jukebox, making the full coldsuit
Have you made the snow fox?
You gotta do pretty remote stuff
Secret achievements are usually spoilers, so they don't post them straight up.
Hi!
I recently completed Subnautica, with 4 hidden achievements remaining.
I know that not all achievements are story related (like the cuddlefish) but I never got achievements for finding the Primary Containment Facility, curing the virus or launching the Neptune or a time-capsule.
It is also worth noting that I used console commands (spawning a Seamoth and PRAWN when they glitched out). Not sure if these disable achievements but I was able to obtain achievements after spawning a new Seamoth.
My current theory is that I broke the Primary Containment Facility. When I first arrived, it didn't fully render (playing on Xbox One S). This allowed me to enter without disabling the first gate. I thought maybe this was supposed to be a trigger for the potential PCF achievement and the rest didn't trigger due to me missing the previous one.
Any help would be great and thank you.
Back when I was doing my play-through in 2018(?), the way console commands and achievements interacted was that if one used, say dig (thanks PCF's bosonic floor, I really loved you), saved the game and then loaded that save, achievements would work.
I'm not sure if that's been changed or how it works in non-PC versions but if you've gotten achievements after spawning that Seamoth, I'd like to know if you restarted in between those events.
I recently finished the story for the first time in PS4. The first time I did it, I did not get the last 2 trophies associated with the ending. I suspected it was because I used the entreset console command to get my seamoth out of a wreck that I glitched into. Good thing I saved just before the ending so I just closed the game and reloaded it then did the ending part and got the last trophies and plat.
hmm, I the only time I can recall is when my game didn't save once but that was long after I spawned in a new Seamoth and I saved and loaded several times in-between.
Console commands disable achievements.
I thought about that but I was still able to get achievements even after I spawned in a new Seamoth. Do we know if there is a limit? Like they are disabled after two uses or more?
Supposed to be just once.
Yup. He should have just bitten the bullet and built new vehicles, they’re all fairly cheap.
Using console commands doesn't permanently disables achievements. It only disables it for the very session. If you used any console command, just save the game and reload it to make it a new session. This way you can beat the achievements as if you didn't use the console command.
If you have the platinum now you probably don’t deserve it I’m just saying
Sorry what? Because I used console commands?
Yep cheaters don’t deserve them do I need to elaborate?
3 and a half weeks? you were absolutely GRINDING lol. congrats my friend!
Thank you. The guides online helped with collectibles but I just really enjoyed the challenges and missions. Was a case of "one more" and it turned into 3 hours later 😂
I did it in 250 hrs on Steam with some of it being AFK time. Used the guides when I needed to, took about a month and a half
Hi all. So I ran into a bug that wasn't letting me enter my base. There was also an issue with saving, it seemed to be very finicky with allowing me to save, the whole button was greyed out like if you pause while entering the sea truck. Anyway, my thirst was about to run out and not being able to enter my base meant I couldn't get water and was going to die. So I console commanded myself forward 5 units inside my base just to get water. I was finally able to save not super long after and fully exiting the game fixed my bug.
ANYWAY, I didn't realize that stopped achievements. Is there a way to get them back on? Do I need to start a fully new save? Will that even work? Kinda a bummer.
Is this pc or console? If console, then you would need to create a new world save. If pc, then you will probably still need to create a new one, but I had an off chance that it continued to allow me to get achievements.
Wait... For real? I once turned it on by accident in my main save, does it mean i can't get the rest of achievements?
Yup
It is PC. I was hoping maybe it would let me get the achievements after the exit and relog like in the first one. I realized I didn't have the jukebox one yet, placed one down, but unfortunately it seems like they've been locked.
Rip bro
I’m not sure about below zero, but in the original subnautica you could just save and exit and when you reloaded achievements would be re-enabled
Yeah that's what I was hoping for. I looked up the achievements an found a quick easy one I could test the relog with but unfortunately they appear to be locked.
Does simply opening the console commands disable achievements or does one have to be used? I was spamming buttons on my controller and accidentally opened the console commands, did this disable achievements? Also i saved afterwards so i cant reload.
It does disable achievements but all you need to do is save, exit the game, and load it back up. It's only for the session the game is active.
Oh my god thank you so much.
Huh. Good to know.
I have all the achievements so I don’t have to worry but what button is it ?
I play on console so its LB, RB, and A at the same time. I dont know about pc.
Thx I play console version as well
I believe so
Well shiiiiiiiiiiit......
Indubitably
Hello everyone, I have a problem. When I was building a base, I fell and appeared outside the base without any water. I fixed it teleporting myself above the sea level but then I noticed I sopped getting achievements because I used console command. I don't want to lose that save but I also want achievements. Is there a way to re-enable them?
What disables the achievements? Is it opening the console or is it using the cheat?
I think just save and exit then go back in
Didn't work
Yeah happened to me when I got stuck too. Exiting and opening the game again doesn’t work in Below Zero. The only solution that I know of is making a new save file. Kind of scummy from them to permanently disable achievements if you use console, specially given how friggin buggy some of the terrain and bases are. I lost 11 hours of progress because of this.
Unload your save if you haven’t saved mabye that will undo it
