Local Community Centers and Recreation Facilities
Community centers and recreation facilities are often great places to find indoor badminton courts. For example, Fern Bell Rec Center offers badminton sessions on Thursdays at 5:30 PM, while Optimist Rec Center hosts them on Wednesdays [5:1]. Checking with local community centers or recreation departments can help you find similar options in your area.
Dedicated Badminton Clubs
If you're looking for a more specialized experience, dedicated badminton clubs might be the answer. In the DMV area, Capital Badminton Academy offers training, drop-in sessions, and court rentals at their Gaithersburg and Columbia campuses [2]. They provide facilities with extra padding to protect players' knees and offer classes for various skill levels
[2:3].
Online Resources and Directories
Websites like Angel City Badminton can provide information about available courts in specific regions, such as Los Angeles [4:1]. Additionally, checking online directories or using search engines to find local badminton facilities can yield useful results.
Networking and Meetup Groups
Sometimes, networking with other badminton enthusiasts can lead to discovering new locations. Creating or joining a meetup group, as suggested by users in Marin County, can help expand your network and find suitable venues [1]. Platforms like Discord can facilitate communication and coordination among group members
[1:3].
Considerations Beyond the Discussions
While these discussions provide insights into finding badminton courts, it's important to consider factors such as court availability, pricing, and membership requirements. Visiting potential locations and speaking with staff can help ensure that the facility meets your needs.
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some spots in Marin County, ideally around San Rafael. Where I could host a casual badminton get-together. Indoors would be best, but I’m also open to outdoor options if that’s easier.
The idea is to do this bi-weekly on Sundays. Right now it’s just me and two friends, but I’d like to grow this into a more open meetup group for anyone who’s interested in playing.
I’m open to the idea of paying for a space if needed, but I’d definitely prefer if there were free or low-cost options available.
Does anyone know of community centers, gyms, or other spaces that could host something like this? Any leads or recommendations would be super helpful.
Thanks!
Haven’t played in over a decade but used to love it. Only recommendation is portable net in a public park, subscribing for updates tho!
Thank you! Do you have a discord? Ill add you to a mini group chat I have so far
My partner and I would be down for a meetup group to play with. We play at a gym in Union City once a week but something in Marin County would be much closer. I had done a bit of research but so far came up with nothing on badminton up here.
Thank you! I can add you both to the discord group chat that I have with the other two! What’s your discord?
Check out Capital Badminton Academy at their Gaithersburg campus and Columbia campus. They have trainings, drop in and court rental there. I love their facility with extra padding and mat to protect my knee (not as slippery).
What's the prices like?
Check out the website for program and pricing. Hope this helps! 😊
Yes, they have group class (and private class) for beginner and intermediate level kids. My daughter is 9 years old has been taking class there. She is making progress.
They have summer camp too. Half day or full day. My daughter did the full day camp in July. They teach all the techniques from serving, footwork, clear, drops…
Is this where you would recommend a beginner 9 year old to attend to learn in the area?
I wish boston city had such places
Looks like a nicely set up hall.
They have 15 courts (badminton and pickle ball) in Columbia campus and 5 courts in Gaithesburg campus
I want to play badminton but I don't have anyone to play with. Do you know a place where you can play with other people?
Hello Dm me

There's two rec centers. You can come to Fern Bell Rec Center Thursdays at 5:30. Or Optimist Rec Venter on Wednesdays.
Thanks
I am looking for badminton courts in Lansing which are not part of MSU
Hell naw This is Lansing not Boca
not indoor or particularly badminton but ranney park has a tennis court
Please help me out here! I'm an intermediate badminton player and I wanted to ask if DU has good indoor facilities. I know St. Stephen's (which I'm getting into) has an indoor court but im not sure about it's condition. And i also know SRCC and Hansraj have them too but i don't know if they'll allow students from other colleges.
So please let me know if i can find a maintained court in DU and if they'll let me in if I'm not from that college. If not, are they're any good Indoor Badminton courts around north campus where I'll find serious players and decent facilities?!
Please let me know cause I'm a regular player and I can't possibly imagine 4 years without Badminton😭🙏
P.S. any intermediate to lower advanced level players getting into DU this year are welcome to DM me, we can play together!
What about south campus? And same doubt, can we use other colleges' courts?
South campus has a badminton court

Hyy bro just got into Hansraj, I will let you know if they allow players from outside or not.
suree we can play i was looking for it as well i played till state under 14 then left; where is it in north campus
University stadium
The process is quite hectic First, you need to fill out the online registration form for the court Then, visit the WUS Health Centre near the Law Faculty to get your medical certificate signed by the DU medical officer Once that's done, submit all the documents at the University Stadium office After verification, your court card will be issued
Count me in guys

Hi! My boyfriend and I are looking to get into a sport that’ll keep us active, and we’re considering badminton.
We’re not super familiar with places to play, though, so we’d really appreciate any recommendations around Metro Manila. We’re open to both indoor and outdoor courts. Also, we’d love to hear any beginner tips, go-to gear, or things you wish you knew before you stared!
Thank you in advance! :)
every city may badminton court, check your location. or sang location ba? madalas its around 250-500/hr commonly 300-350
Hii really depends which part of manila you are for the courts but for beginner gear i suggest avoiding yonex if your budget is 1-2k as they dont really have as many options compared to other brands like felet, apacs, victor etc. for rackets i suggest getting a racket that is decently light, u can search for 4u or 5u rackets, those are the weights of the racket.
For beginners its good to have a light racket because it forces to learn good technique to generate power without relying on the weight of the racket, and its much easier to play with compared to a heavier racket. Also i forgot to mention get a even balanced or headlight racket. Head Heavy ones are not suitable for beginners.
For shoes if your really thinking of getting into the sport this is the one you’d spend the most in there are options for 2-3k that are alright but compared to the cushioning and durability of higher end shoes it would be wise to invest jn it.
If you guys wanna make friends or play with other people there are clubs or queuing groups where u can play with other people around the same skill level as you. To find these u can ask the staff at whichever court your at as there is most probably one. You could also just ask in this subreddit :D
If you have any more questions u can comment or dm me
Enjoy badminton!
Metro Manila is a very wide radius to search for badminton courts pero every city naman meron yan.
Mga nalaruan ko and nakikita ko are the below:
Beginner tips:
Learn the proper rules of the game and scoring.
You can get any cheap racket muna (less than 1k) usually yung mga may string na since beginner palang kayo.
You can get cheap badminton shoes muna or yung mga flat ang sole para iwas injury. Not recommended running shoes higher chance matapilok.
Watch reels sa ig/tiktok ng mga proper ways to grip sa racket. Important masanay pumalo having the proper grip kesa matagal ka na naglalaro tapos mag aadjust ka uli sa new way to hold your racket.
Shuttlecocks are expensive and mas madali masira lalo na if hindi napapalo ng tama. Yung mga 12pcs na less than 1k pwede na.
Once na consistent na kayo naglalaro say 2-3 months, you can go ahead and upgrade for better rackets:
Yung tension naman sa strings for beginners maganda low tension 20-24 lbs. Lower tension means bigger sweet spot which translates to more chances tamaan yung shuttlecock with the most power and accuracy.
Strings usually we use either Yonex BG series or Exbolt series. Mas crispy yung tunog nung BG hehe and mas cheaper.
Have fun playing!
Thanks for this! 🥰

indoor badminton court locations near me
Here are some key considerations for finding indoor badminton court locations:
Local Sports Centers: Check community sports centers, recreation facilities, or gyms in your area, as they often have indoor badminton courts available for public use.
Badminton Clubs: Look for dedicated badminton clubs or associations nearby. They usually have well-maintained courts and may offer memberships or drop-in sessions.
Schools and Universities: Many educational institutions have indoor gymnasiums that may be available for public use during off-hours or weekends.
Online Directories: Use online platforms like Google Maps, Yelp, or local sports websites to search for indoor badminton courts. You can filter results based on distance and user reviews.
Social Media and Community Boards: Check local community groups on platforms like Facebook or Nextdoor, where members often share information about sports facilities.
Recommendation: Once you identify potential locations, consider calling ahead to confirm availability, court conditions, and any fees associated with usage. If you’re looking for a place to play regularly, inquire about membership options or group sessions for better rates.
