Consumable Gifts
Consumables are a safe bet for coworkers as they can be enjoyed by most people. Popular options include fancy chocolates, cookies, candy, and homemade treats like chex mix or chocolate-covered pretzels [1:1]
[4:1]
[4:2]. A bottle of decent olive oil was also mentioned as a memorable gift
[1:5].
Practical Gifts
Practical gifts that can be used in everyday life are always appreciated. Suggestions include portable chargers, power banks, unique sauces, and small first aid kits [1:2]
[1:3]
[1:6]. For dog groomers, items like lint rollers, ear plugs, and soothing tea were recommended
[5:4].
Personalized or Themed Gifts
Personalized gifts can add a special touch. Ideas include coffee mugs with dogs on them for dog groomers, themed keychains, and candles with custom labels [5:1]
[5:3]. Personalized leather portfolios and engraved Yeti cups were suggested for larger budgets
[3:2].
Budget-Friendly Options
For those on a tighter budget, consider gifts under $10 such as silly socks, candy bars, and DVDs from discount stores [5:1]
[5:4]. Gift cards to local food joints or coffee shops are also affordable and appreciated
[1:1]
[4:1].
Unique and Fun Gifts
If you're looking for something fun and light-hearted, consider gifts that make people laugh while being practical. Ideas include funny-themed candles, sketch pads with art markers, or silly socks [2:1]
[5:3]. These gifts can bring joy and humor to the workplace.
When choosing gifts for coworkers, consider their interests and preferences, and aim for items that are both thoughtful and useful.
I’m doing my Christmas shopping early and want to complete it before it gets hectic. I know they’re just people at work but I love gift giving and we all work closely together.
What are some simple gifts that men would like? These are men in their mid to late 20s and early 30s.
Last year I got them a dopp kit with socks, a BBW hand sanitizer, some cooling wet wipes and a mini towel. They really loved that and I can still see them using it for work travels.
I’ve run out of ideas for this year. I’m planning on getting the BBW pocket bacs again but I’d like to add a few things like I did last year.
A power bank for phones/tablets/laptops would be useful if they travel much as a job function.
Unique sauces. Emery boards or nail clippers. A little first aid kit to keep at their desks.
Not everyone likes the same thing. I’m a woman and I do not want baskets of bath lotions and such, so you’ll have to try and think along the lines of what is useful for most people rather than a gender. My husband would not use hand sanitiser or wet wipes for example.
Consumables are usually a safe bet. The one gift my husband got that he really liked was a bottle of decent olive oil. He still talks about it now.
That’s exactly it. I want to give something useful. Luckily, even though I gave them all the same thing last Christmas, they really appreciated it and I often see them using it for work travels. That’s my goal in gifting.
Portable chargers?
Since it's a work gift, it should be work appropriate. Sometimes those you think are not easily offended will surprise you.
I love gift certs to local food joints. Depending on budget, a nice steak house is recommended. I love getting sbux gift cards, even it it's $5.
Fancy chocolates from laderdach or gift baskets from Costco/sams.
I guess if you want to personalize or, Dior sells perfumed hand lotion that is very nice & you can accompany that with candy canes/Christmas candy.

Men love BBW.
Alcohol
Not sure of your budget but all below can come in <$40.
Any kind of decent fragrance. Pick the ones you like on a man or look at r/Colognes for ideas.
A snifter and a pint of good booze. Or a Bar utensil set.
Cigars.
One of those table top boxes with glass lid and drawers where gents keep their watches, cufflinks, & etc.
A scarf or neck gaiter.
A box of basic kitchen spices.
A set of handkerchiefs or bandanas.
Bathroom scales, the smart kind that connect to your phone.
A sketch pad and big can of art markers.
Books.
Socks (I like GoWith or Maggie's Organics)
A grill apron.
A nice chef's knife or pair of them.
I have a team of 10 direct reports. I get them all the same or similar holiday gifts each year. Last year it was 3/4 zipper fleece sweaters, the year before it was personalized leather portfolios.
I'm not sure what to get this year. 5 are men under 30, 2 are men over 50, 2 woman over 40, 1 woman under 3. I know all their shirt sizes and some of their favorite flavors, scents, hobbies, etc. As you can imagine it's a very diverse group.
We work in construction and project management mostly but I'm not stuck on getting something work related. I'd like to spend less than $50 each and I will throw in a smaller item or two more individually tailered to each person.
Any suggestions?
Yeti cups with each of their names engraved. I’m pretty sure they do a big Black Friday sale every year.
Please, no Yeti cups. I own several. I’ve tossed several. I donated several. No one needs more Yeti cups. I don’t even use them, but I keep receiving them as gifts or giveaways. I have 4 now, and they take up too much space.
I love earbuds and headphones. We use them daily, and we rotate them when they charge. I got a portable charging station that has multiple ports as a gift; I love this item. It’s gotten me or my friends out of a few jams when traveling.
This is a great idea!
I know this is the gifts sub, but I can’t stress enough how much more they’d appreciate just having $50. feel free to add their favorite candy to it.
I've thought about that too.
hey i am a small customized gifts business which is really pocket friendly and good quality u can check my posts out and dm me if u r interested
These are super cute. Thanks for sharing.
A box of snacks. People love food!
I was thinking about this too. Lots of little snacks they can keep at their desk or in the truck.
Hearing protection headphones.
This is a great idea! Thank you
I just started a job at a small side branch of a bank in August. Apart from me there are two other tellers, one in her 40s and one in her 50s. I like both of them a lot, but I don’t know them very well personally. I know they are both getting each other something and I have a feeling they are getting me something too, especially because my birthday is the day after Christmas. I want to get them something, but I can’t think of anything to get them. I would like it to be something more thoughtful than a gift card. So what is a nice, generic gift?
The other two ideas are really great. Homemade goodoes are often appreciated. Besides cookies and candy, stuff like chex mix, chocolate covered prerzels, brittle or barks, sweet breads like pumpkin. Also, small light smelling hand lotions, a small holiday plate with spreader knife. Non-religious holiday knick-knack like a standing snowflake or candle holder with flameless tealight. I would avoid actual candles though or heavily scented stuff.
Randomly, I was gifted this bowl cozy thing that you can put around a dish in the microwave and then easily move/carry the hot dish and it is awesome. I would never have thought to buy one.
Also, dollar store baskets are great for multi-thing gifts and easy to dress up with a ribbon.
Homemade cookies or a cute mug with a hot chocolate bomb in it, a scarf, a warm pair of socks,
Cookies or candy. Something they can share with their family.
Starbucks gift cards.
I’m looking for ideas for 12 coworkers, ideal budget per person is $10 and under. We’re dog groomers, and we’re all female except for one lol. It’s stumping me honestly. I love silly little gifts that make you laugh, but are also practical. Any ideas??

There are some cute themed dog grooming keychains on Etsy if you do a basic search, some are under $10.
If people aren’t allergic to fragrance, I think buying some candles from Target or the Dollar Store and printing some new wrap around labels (you could even do it with paper, pens, and tape) with funny sayings on them like “Scent of fresh puppy cut” or “Eau de basic b*tch” or “Shed Happens.” I think googling dog groomer humor would help for inspiration 😀
Gift baskets or bags.
Items to include: lint roller to remove dog hair, ear plugs or ear buds for music when the furry ones won’t stop barking, soothing tea, candy bars because you think they are sweet, and/or
Everybody (almost) likes brownies or fudge. You could make some, wrapping pieces in plastic Saran Wrap, using holiday ribbon to tie the pieces like peppermint candies
You could opt for a dvd, a bag of microwave popcorn and a candy bar too. The movies are sold at Dollar and a quarter Tree.
Good luck.
Coffee mugs with dogs on them
Candy
Candles
Silly socks
I know the budget seems crazy but let me explain.
Every year I get my coworkers ( I work in a dog daycare / boarding facility ) small gifts that are specifically picked for each person. Two years ago I got everyone an animal cable protector and chose the animal I thought fit them best and included an explanation why I chose that. Last year I got everyone some jibbitz because we all wear crocs. ( They're very easy to clean ) I chose which ones I gave based off the person, too.
I can't for the life of me think of something for this year. I try to keep it as cheap as possible by buying bulk packs since there's about 15 of us. All girls, from 16-30.
I don't really want to do something edible because our boss has candy for us and buys us food all the time.
Face masks? The skincare kind, not the COVID kind
Just bought a 16 pack of cute Christmas ones on Amazon for very cheap for my coworker
fun socks or a mug that suit their personality/interests
Thrift stores usually have unique mugs that are inexpensive too!
I was going to say this! One year a coworker thrifted mugs that fit each personality and it was delightful. It was fun to see what everyone got.
Key rings with their favourite dog breed ?
Do you have a cafe nearby? Could you get a bunch of $5 gift cards so everyone can have one decent coffee?
-Christmas tree ornaments -bookmarks -stickers
Stickers would be perfect for this!
In my previous workplace, there wasn’t any Christmas gift exchanges. However in my current workplace, everybody seems to be discussing what to buy for each other.
Any ideas on what to get? Budget is about $10-$15 per person and edibles seem out of the question given everybody is putting effort into buying something useful for each other to use or display in the office.
Powder shampoo/body wash, hidden camera detector, sneakers deodorant balls, waterproof shoe spray. In shopee, you can even get personalised keychains or small wallet/cardholder
I got a type C 45 W Charger for my colleague
Snack wise can try amazing graze granola . Or mevaldo snacks. All available on shopeee.
I don't care. I just buy a box of chocolates each.
depending on your office culture and how close you are, i find gag gifts quite fun (esp for lower budget)! i once received a banana with 'berry xmas' written on it LOL
Hello all, please help me figure out what I can gift to my coworkers for Christmas! This is my first time being in a job long enough for this and liking my coworkers enough, lol. I have 12 coworkers and they all celebrate- and only ONE is male. I follow a different faith (IDK if this helps lol). I want to get something nice that won't break the bank. Also, we work in healthcare. Thank you for your help!
I like to buy the half-pound Reece’s peanut butter cups and wrap them for coworkers. They are 3/$14 at Sam’s Club.
Lotto tickets, hand sanitizer, lotion, chap stick, hair ties/headbands, pens...
This is an excellent comment. Lotto tickets are always a hit.
Cute mug full of candy
Sheet masks for face. You might find some really cute ones that look like animal and therefore you can choose animal for each person and maybe write why you have chosen it :)
I like to get my coworkers something from a local shop. I'll do chocolates or macarons from this French bakery.
Hello!! Christmas is coming up and I work at a little Italian restaurant with 15-20 coworkers. We are doing a secret santa but I also want to get everyone a little something, preferably no more that 5$ each. Last year I worked in an office and got everyone hand sanitizer(cute little bottles with holiday scents) and some pens and sticky notes, very generic but they got used and were greatly appreciated. But now I work in a kitchen and have no idea what I can give the staff that is even slightly work related. Any ideas are appreciated!!!
I just bought 3 Bundt pans from a Ross that were 4.99$ each - I am going to attach recipe cards with my favorite apple cake recipe and a nice ribbon for my coworkers!
I am not willing to go into debt over Christmas gifts, but I would like to gift my amazing co-workers and family members something small this year. I've looked on pinterest for some ideas but I'm open to other opinions. I'm open to home-made items as well. Any frugal but cute gift ideas are super welcome. Thank you in advance! :)
Don't forget that most of us view frugal as being the best value for our money; not necessarily the cheapest. So before you gift someone with some thing, consider the person and make sure that whether it's expensive or inexpensive, that it is something you think the receiver would want and will bring them joy.
For family members, homemade food items may be just fine but in our new post pandemic culture home made food items are more problematic than before when all you had to worry about are co-worker food allergies. I have heard and seen home made cakes and cookies get tossed out now in offices because people are wary of the cleanliness of their coworkers.
For relatives, consider one larger gift for the entire family to enjoy instead of separate gifts for each member. Cozy blankets or heated throws are great or a gift membership to a streaming service.
For office mates, reusable silicon storage bags are good as well as reusuable straws. You can buy packs and then split them up to make multiple gifts.
Homemade cookies, banana bread, cake. Homemade flavored booze or vinegar: add add chilies to vodka for Bloody Marys; add basil or garlic to vinegar. If you prefer to buy gifts, boxes of candy are good. Maybe a regional favorite like Lamme's in Texas.
Seconded. I love food as gifts (you just have to know what they like to eat). No one needs yet another knick knack IMHO.
Knowing what they like is an important detail, often overlooked when gifting homemade treats. No one needs/wants another anything they won't use/eat!!
See a bowl cozy. I envy one my roommate has, it’s made out of some flannel/sweatshirt material. This would be super easy if you recycled some old clothes, or pick free ones up off Craigslist. For the batting, I would use an old blanket from the thrust store. They are pretty simple to make and really useful.
A dear friend and coworker of mine for the past 20 years makes handmade note cards. She stamps and draws artwork on the note cards. She writes personal messages in the card of why and how much she appreciates the person. If she has a pic of herself and the person, she’ll includes a small copy of the pic.
If she can afford it, she’ll also pick one item for $1 at dollar store and write in her note why she bought that gift for that person.
Her co-workers, family & friends, including myself, look forward to getting her handwritten messages and gifts. Last year, she purchased me a 5-pack of 5 flavor lifesavers candy rolls. I was delighted! She knows I love nostalgic candy. I treasure all of her cards over the years. Some of the gifts I’m still using today.
Less is more. Homemade and thoughtful is priceless and precious.
Homemade treats like cookies, fudge, brownies, candy, etc seem like a great option. Anything you can create in a big batch and then divvy up accordingly. Homemade candles could also be an option - most craft stores will sell the wicks & wax, and you could collect recycled glass jars to pour the wax into. (If you know anyone that eats Oui French style yogurt, those jars would make great tea candles.)
With any homemade gifts, you can make it feel more special with the packaging. A lot of craft stores sell cute options for homemade food - I’ve seen colorful versions of Chinese to-go containers that you could fill with some cookies, nuts, or popcorn and decorate with ribbon, etc.
I usually bake for people but last year I had made huge bottles of vanilla extract with fresh vanilla beans so I might just decant them into small glass jars that I save from one of my students (I work with toddlers and one of them usually brings in a small jar of baby food in a glass jar so I just save the jars).
Tho I was also thinking of making chimichurri, which goes great on meat, chicken, or toasted bread. I’ll probably end up buying a large bottle of olive oil and making a few batches of chimichurri; it lasts for literal months in your pantry/counter.
I love this. It's unique and cute! I'm a teacher and work at a small school and everyone is soooo kind and will randomly bring things in for everyone. One teacher brought in bottles of vitamin C for everyone.
