Funny and Quirky Themes
For those looking for a humorous twist, consider themes like "Wife Guy Fieri," where you can dress up in flamboyant shirts and sunglasses, or a "Retirement Party" theme to symbolize retiring from single life [1:1]. Another creative idea is a "Last Night of Independence," where guests dress as founding fathers, adding a historical yet comical flair to the event
[1:3]. A wig exchange, dubbed "Brides Last Hair-rah," can also add an element of surprise and laughter to the party
[1:2].
Pop Culture and Movie Themes
Themes inspired by movies or pop culture can be a hit. Consider a "Legally Blonde" theme if the bride is a fan of the movie, complete with pink outfits and legal-themed props [3:1]. Other popular choices include "Mamma Mia" for a musical vibe or a "Gilmore Girls" themed party for fans of the show
[4:1]. These themes allow for creative costumes and decorations that align with the bride's interests.
Activity-Based Themes
If your group enjoys activities, consider a murder mystery party, which provides roles and interactions for guests [2:1]. Alternatively, a "Dazed and Engaged" theme with tie-dye activities could offer a relaxed and colorful experience
[3:4]. For a more casual setting, a picnic or river tubing can be complemented by themes like "Sisterhood of the Traveling Veil," especially if friends are traveling from afar
[4:2].
Themed Decor and Games
For a bachelorette party centered around the TV show "The Bachelor," incorporate elements like roses and games such as "Pin the Rose on Chris Harrison" or "Bachelor Bingo" [5:2]. Decorate with plenty of candles and rose-themed items to enhance the ambiance
[5:2]. Adding personal touches, like cookies shaped like roses, can make the theme feel more special and cohesive
[5].
Color and Simplicity
Sometimes simplicity is key. A color-themed party, such as "Pretty in Pink" or "Something Blue," can create a visually appealing and easy-to-coordinate event [4:1]. This approach allows for flexibility in decorations and attire while maintaining a cohesive look throughout the celebration.
I’m having my bachelorette in June and I’m looking for some funny ideas for a theme (ideas I’ve seen online Guy Fieri; funny tshirts; etc.).
Doe the bachelorette a group of 15 of us are taking a bus from our city to 1.5 hours away to visit some wineries, then will come back for a dinner at my house + karaoke later in the night for anyone still standing 😅
I’m loving the funny bachelorette trends and those also really suit my friend’s personalities. Would love to know your ideas or what any of you have done for your themes!
'Brides last hair-rah'- We did a wig exchange for a bachelorette party and it was so much fun. We each brought a fun wig and had to randomly pick one out of a bag to wear for the day. We did this at the start of a winery tour and it was definitely the highlight of the trip!
One I saw that I thought was hilarious was “last night of independence” and everyone dressed up like founding fathers 🤣
That’s too good 😂
I really love the shrek themed ones!
Yes!! I have Shrek as my top 1
Boots Bling & A wedding ring https://www.etsy.com/listing/4321632518/boots-bling-and-a-wedding-ring-canvas?ref=shop_home_active_10&logging_key=578d31e4afc58e640eba1fd9d2cc7a8c155164d7%3A4321632518 you can get all cute stuff like this bag for all your girls
this sounds like such a fun bachelorette!
how about going on a “wife guy fieri” or “final rose ceremony” (bachelor-style with dramatic outfits and roses).
you could also do a “retirement party” theme since she’s “retiring” from single life.
Haha guy fieri is a great idea - so many things to get off Amazon too
I'm trying to decide between three options:
Murder mystery. I've done murder mystery birthdays before and I think they're fun because they give people a role and purpose that helps you interact with the other guests when you don't know everybody. I do wonder if a murder mystery could get messed up by people bailing last minute or showing up late/leaving early.
Parisian theme. I'm thinking we could watch a Paris-themed movie, wear silly accessories like berets or boas, eat French-themed food, and paint pictures.
Medieval princess theme. Everyone wears tiaras and does backyard archery.
Also, any advice about how many guests you can invite to a bachelorette party before it gets too busy? 10? 15? 20?
Everyone's idea of "too many guests" is a bit different -- for me, anything more than 3 is too much, but for one of my friends, she needs at leasst 100 people.
As for which to do, I'd survey your friends to see what they'd like best. If you just go to a set murder mystery dinner where you reserve, you wouldn't have to worry about it "being messed up" by stragglers or absentees because these events still go on with or without you. I personally cringe at "Paris-themed" stuff that lean heavily on caricature and stereotypes, but you do you.
#3. I like activity-based parties for stuff like this but feel shy about my acting abilities and pretending to be someone I'm not. Also tiaras + backyard archery should make for excellent photos.
I would LOVE to hear and see (all the photos please) about everyone’s bachelorette parties! I love the 60s, 70s, Mamma Mia themes I’ve seen but don’t want to miss on something great! Thanks in advance!
The place we went had a beach/flamingo theme. My shirts had a flamingo on them that said "Let's get flocked up! Alizadk's beachlorette party"
Mine was in Scottsdale, Arizona so there was a lot of Taco Bout Love signs and Final Fiesta type of thing. Pretty cute.
My friend did dazed and engaged recently. A lot of tie dye.
Getting wiggy with it 😂
I’m a blonde lawyer so naturally my theme is legally blonde! But disco was definitely a close second :)
I'm planning my best friend's bachelorette party as her MOH and I'm struggling to come up with a theme. We already have activities planned for the most part because the party is taking place in a small-ish town this August and we have limited options. Over the 3 day weekend, we will likely be floating down the river in tubes, doing a bachelorette themed murder mystery game, attending a private yoga class, having a picnic in the park, and doing a craft. We will likely go to one nice bar, but she's not really the getting drunk going out clubbing type.
I know it doesn't have to have a theme, but she definitely loves a good theme, so I'm trying to find something that fits these activities. The only thing I've really come up with is a camp theme since a lot of the activities are outdoorsy/things you would do at summer camp BUT that was my wedding theme last year and I don't think she would want to do the same thing. So maybe some sort of summery/outdoor/slumber party theme?? It's really just to have a cute saying/design for the invite and to inform the decor.
Movie titles could be used:
Girls Trip
The Slumber Party
Sisterhood (of the Travelling Pants)
Ah yes, this made me think Sisterhood of the Traveling Veil 😂 Which could be especially cute because all of us are friends who live far apart but are traveling in for this. Thank you so much!!!
You could tie the theme to a color like Pretty in Pink or Something Blue.
Or is she has fandom she likes you could make that a theme. Like Mama Mia theme or Gilmore girls themed bachelorette.
Thank you!!
I’m in the middle of planning a “Bachelorette” themed Bachelorette party for my best friend who is a HUGE fan of the show.
I figured this subreddit would be a good starting point if anyone can make decor suggestions, ideas for games that relate to the show, or really anything weird/funny/outside the box that I should look into. I’ll definitely buy some roses and will look into having cookies that look like roses made but we’re having dinner beforehand so I think we’re set for food.
Thanks in advance!
Play a rousing game of Pin the Rose on Chris Harrison (if doing this after a few drinks, it could be much more entertaining).
Bachelor Bingo
Plenty of candles
Roses, of course
Chris Harrison cut outs!
Get a stripper that dances to country music of unknown artists.
Get a big picture of the fiance and play pin the rose of the F1/fiance.
This is good. You guys are great!!
Chicken nuggets
Me and my fiance are having our parties together. We’re doing just one night, party bus and a game show. But I’d love for us to have a theme. Any ideas?
Could the theme not be.. we’re getting married? Haha
What are you guys into? Hobbies, sports teams, fandoms, etc?
"The Nearlywed Games"
Following! Have the same idea :)
What are your common interests?

I’m planning my sister’s bachelorette party and we are headed to the beach for a weekend. She wants the weekend to be themed. I’d love to hear some ideas! She has mentioned Mama Mia and Veuve before Vows. Her only stipulation was no cowboy boots haha.
I'm planning my cousins and we're doing "Dazed and Engaged"
70's and Dazed and Confused theme. I'm very excited for this, as we grew up watching Dazed and Confused, lol.
Hi! I’m attending a 5 person (covid limit) bachelorette party.
The theme is “The Bachelor”. I’ve never watched the show, just know general things.
Does anybody have any fun Bachelorette ideas that relate to this show?
I’m thinking decorations, games, themed drinks. Really anything related to this show that could be a gimmicky decoration, or a direct reference game (do the ‘contestants’ on this show play games?). My god I wish it was a Survivor themed party lol, that I know what to plan for.
Thanks !
Decor wise a sign that says: “She accepted his final rose.”
Make the bridesmaids do ridiculous “limo entrances” (look it up on YouTube) and have the bride give a “First Impression Rose” to the best one
Have her fiancé fill out a list of responses to crazy questions and then go through them during the party
You can basically make anything bachelor themed by handing out roses, making rose themed drinks (someone has an Instagram for episode themed cocktails) and making things contests.
These ideas are perfect. It could also be fun to put the slogan "here for the right reasons" (and maybe "here to make drama") on signs for photo props.
I love the limo entrance idea!! That would be hilarious
Desserts = “fantasy sweets”
Yes!!
That’s so freakn cute
Steal someone else’s Champagne lol
On this topic, print out new labels for any and all champagne bottles that will be there with with words "champagne gate" and a picture of kelsey's face if possible (Google this, it was an all time high)
Roses, Champagne
Have a windmill.
Exactly the title! Anyone have any creative bachelorette party themes that have to do with a song title or anything about John? Looking forward to reading these!
Waiting on the girl to change: fashion show. Whichever girl gets the most coins thrown at her during her run wins. Said coins then used to acquire rubber duckies from a claw machine.
I can think of a lot of NSFW games, but then someone here will surely complain about women sexualizing male celebrities and applying different standards for women. :)
On a less prurient theme, a Come Back to Bed-themed lingerie party would be a blast.
I’m planning my best friends bachelorette and she is a huge fourth wing fan. I’d like to somehow incorporate fourth wing/other smutty fantasy into the games we play or possibly a theme night or something? Looking for any ideas or if anyone has done something similar to hear what you did!
If you are at someone's house and like drinking you could make different cocktails and give them fantasy related pun names?
(Not so much puns, but just name thoughts that come to mind)
Shadow shots. (Something black or otherwise dark)
Lightning strikes. (Something involving blue curicao or however it's spelled)
Protection Rune (it's just water lol)
If we want to use the style of cyberpunk 2077's afterlife club, could name some drinks after the dearly departed......now I kinda want to know what the spoilerLiam Mairispoiler would have I'm it.
Mairi-tini?
I’ve seen the videos where everyone makes drinks/food boards based on a certain theme (with every person having different themes). This would be so cute if everyone coming likes FW.
It could also work if it doesn’t. For example, if you have around 7 people coming, each could be designated a dragon den (which all have a specific color) and then bring things that all have to do with that color. This could include an alcoholic drink too. Though this would take more planning between everyone coming, it’s a great way to make sure everyone has something they like, esp if you go the route of alcohol drinks!
I love this! What about some sort of game that assigns everyone a dragon? (like, if you are not familiar with the lore, there are 7 types of dragons). If you could get her something similar to Vi´s armor that would probably be cool. OR A TARGET AND SOME DAGGERS TO THROW, well maybe not *actual* daggers, but something like that!.
Do you know who her favorite characters are?
Knife throwing seems like a fabulous bachelorette idea. I may steal this.
Pin the tail on the dragon (blindfolded), whoever gets it closest wins a prize.
Idk if a custom Fourth Wing game of Guess Who is the vibe you're going for but it could be fun
If you want a stripper involved, obviously find one who’ll cosplay Xaden lol
I’ve seen a banner that says “Cheers to the next chapter”
Everyone dress in rider black, the more (sexy) leather the better (unless it’s going to be hot). Temporary dragon tattoos.
I believe there’s a Fourth Wing Cards Against Humanity. Other games could be like “pin the bachelorette on the dragon” where you have little cutouts of the bachelorette and try to get her in the back of Tairn blindfolded. A game of Twister but call it the “sparring mat”, and you can add a twist where people wear fake daggers and can try to steal them off one another mid move. “Signet Manifesting” where you bounce beer pong balls into cups that have different signets in them.
I’ve seen a reel of girls having a party and they all made drinks themed to different romantasy books, so themed food and drinks could be fun. Chocolate cake, mimosas with an orange peel garnish, dragon (deviled) eggs, wyvern (chicken) wings, lavender lemonade, “pick your poison” shots, and broccoli.
Hold up...a fourth wing cards against humanity set?!
