What Redditors are Saying

Best Aggressive Inline Skates for Wide Feet

TL;DR

  • Roces 5th Element and Razors SL are top recommendations for wide feet.
  • K2 Unnatural and Seba skates are also highly recommended for their width.

Roces 5th Element

The Roces 5th Element is frequently mentioned as a great option for those with wide feet. Users highlight its comfort and suitability for wider foot widths [1:1], [3:4]. It is described as having a wide fit, making it a popular choice among skaters who need more room in their boots [3:5].

Razors SL

Another popular recommendation is the Razors SL. These skates are noted for their wider fit compared to other models like the Razors Cult and Roces M12, which are considered narrower [1:4], [3:5]. They are often suggested as an affordable entry point for getting back into skating [3:6].

K2 Unnatural

The K2 Unnatural is specifically highlighted for its very wide boot, suitable even for those with extremely wide feet [2:2]. This model is praised for being one of the few options available that can accommodate EEE width feet comfortably, making it a standout choice for skaters with significantly wide feet [2:2].

Seba Skates

Seba skates are another brand known for accommodating wider feet. They are recommended alongside Razors and K2 as a solid option for those needing extra width [2:5], [3:3]. The Seba brand offers a range of models that provide a comfortable fit for wide-footed skaters.

Additional Considerations

For those seeking alternatives, Them Skates and Rollerblade NJ Pro are also mentioned as potential options for wide feet [1:5], [3:1]. It's important to consider trying different models and possibly heat-molding liners for a better fit [2:1]. Additionally, measuring your feet accurately and considering sizing up may help achieve the best fit [4:1].

Any advice for best aggressive inlines for wide feet, thicker calves?

I have wide feet and Roces M12 work well, but you need a thin liner like Intuition V2

Ok cool I’ll check em out now. Have you ever seen the USD Aeon 80s? Those are currently at the top of my list.

aeon 80 is not aggressive. it is aggressive for people who have done everything on aggressive and now they wanna do same but fast and with small split. wide boots are: razors SLs, roces 5th element, Usd 7, Aeons are average to wide, but are shallow and for some cause pressure points from the top.

I have seen them but not tried them. Keep in mind that you won't be able to swap frames with the Aeon 80's. The Roces M12 also have the best ratchet buckle on the market.

ha? m12 are the narrowest skates on the market doesn't matter with or without liners.

I don't know what size feet you have, but I have US 13 with wide feet and they are fine for me. But everyone's foot size is different, so it's hard to find the same solution for everyone.

I think it's acknowledged that Razors SL and Roces 5th Element are the widest fitting. Aeons are true to size, slightly narrow. AFAIK the narrowest fitting are Razors Cult and Roces M12.

Anything Seba/FR is on the wide side.

I have rather wide feet and Seba is the only brand that I could find a boot where my toes gently touch the end while fitting width-wise.

Wide feet? Certainely NOT M12s! Those are for narrow feet! But Roces 5th Element is an obvious answer for your thread! (And a GREAT skate)

I’m getting back into skating after being out for around 10 years. I have read a lot of reviews and it seems like the K2 Unnatural would be the best skate for me with wide feet. I’m wondering what you guys think.

I have very wide feet, I have EEE width feet. My foot is 25.5 cm long and 10.5 cm wide, so thats a US 7.5 EEE, I fit a K2 unnatural 7.5 perfectly, this boot is very very wide, so wide I would not recommend to people with skinny feet.

EDIT: Also I cannot fit a roces, valo, rollerblade solo (hardboot) or USD size 9 hard boot. Remz, Razors, and when salomon made skates I can fit size 9 in those but no smaller. K2 unnaturals are the only skate I have ever been able to wear in my size besides xsjados, Seba skates are also supposed to be good for wide feet but I have never tried them.

I've really wide feet. I'm a size 8/9 but width I'm like size 12 double wide.

I've used the Adapts, they needed heat molded.

Them skates both stock and intuition liners, fit great out the box.

CJ gutted size 41 EU, small intuition liner v2. Tight, but fits great.

Best aggressive skates for a large man with wide feet?

Posted by dat_abased · in r/rollerblading · 4 years ago

(feel free to skip the reminiscing)

I haven't skated in...holy shit 17-18 years (!) and one of the reasons when I look back with adult hindsight is most skates hurt me a lot, to the point where I'm pretty sure it effected how my toes grew and a permanent bump I have on one foot.

The pandemic caused me to reconnect with an old friend on Zoom who also skated, which sent me down a lovely rabbit hole of videos and podcasts and such. I wanna get back into it! Start easy; and my highest goal would be to get healthier and be able session some ledges. I want to believe that's feasible.

I'm 32, currently 300lbs (5'11") and I have wide feet and need a wide and tall foot well. I also have thick calves (roughly 12-14" around, depending where the cuff falls).

Unfortunately it seems like I'd have to drive many hours from Maryland to find somewhere to try on aggressive skates, so I think I'll have to order some and maybe look for used. Ultimately I don't care the brand or look if I can maximize the chances that I could take this back up and regain a love for skating without hurting my feet just from wearing them.

TL:DR 32 yr old 300lb man seeks to rekindle teenage love with a wide-footed, wide-ankled, and aggressive skate. Do you know any?

Good beginner aggressive skate for wide feet?

Posted by plants345 · in r/rollerblading · 4 years ago

I have a pair of recreational skates I've used for years but wanted to try aggressive since there is a skate park nearby. A lot of the brands that are recommended run small or thin and my feet are considered wide (at least in womens's sizes). Do skates generally follow men's sizing for width or can anyone recommend a skate that might work within the $150-250 range?

I need an extremely wide toe box and always have to size up in 4E sneakers. I just got the Rollerblade RB Pro X and they are absolutely perfect, especially for a mildly aggressive/urban skating style with their hard boot! I highly recommend the RB line, just measure your feet in CM then buy a whole size larger than you measure if you have wide feet.

https://www.rollerblade.com/files/15401/NEW_RB_size_chart_A4_RB.jpg

Also, if you have heel slippage afterwards you can get heel booties which help.

Skate question

Posted by Nextheagender · in r/rollerderby · 1 month ago

So I am a competitive skater and I have been skating for 4 years on suregrip rebels (I know, I know) and was wondering what the best competitive skates are for value. I have wider then average feet and in my current skates I tend to almost roll my ankles a lot, and I’ve worn multiple holes in each insole. I also flip between blocker, pivot, and jammer frequently if that makes a difference. I also feel like my rebels are kind of heavy and would like to try something maybe a bit lighter. Does anyone have any recommendations?

The plate will make the most difference in weight. Is your entire foot wide or just across the ball of your foot?

Antiks are a good option for wider feet and they have a bit of ankle support compared to many other boots.

It definitely mostly across the ball of my foot, I’ll check them out!

It depends on what your budget is to be honest!! That being said the other replies have been spot on bont prostars are probably the best ones on a lower budget and if you have a bit more to spend antik jet carbons come in a package with the arius plates which is definitely one of the lightest setups you can get!!

upgrading my skates and have wide feet, any recommendations?

Posted by ignishun · in r/AggressiveInline · 2 months ago

started skating about a year and half ago on fifth elements (size 9 mens). Ive liked them more or less, but they aren't comfortable and I don't think they are as responsive as skates can be. I picked them up on sale and had heard they were wider than m12s.

I can skate for maybe two hours before my feet are killing me. about an hour in and I start feeling some numbness and the widest part of my foot gets very sore.

I'm looking for some recs on nicer skates that work for a wide foot, happy to pay ~$300 for a pair if they feel great. also, if the liner is key for this I would be willing to buy a nicer liner as well.

I've heard USD Sways are pretty good for wide feet? I've looked around online at guides but would really appreciate some comments directly

thanks!

I'm a huge fan of the FR UFR. It's the comfiest skate I've ever ridden. I did swap out the Intuition liners it came with for my Second Skins, as I had already broken those in. But either way, it's a great, wider skate.

3 upvotes on reddit
Tromance · 2 months ago

I have wide feet too. I also had UFRs with the stock Pottier liners and they were super comfy. I did find the skates a little stiff, so have just swapped to Faction Plastiks, which I really like so far. Tried on Sways too, and they felt good for wide feet but I wasn’t so keen on the liners (the Bernal pro model). The Them 909s felt good too, but I preferred the Plastiks.

2 upvotes on reddit
B
Brewmentationator · 2 months ago

I also went to the Plastiks. I didn't recommend them, because they took a lot of work to get right. I had to put on 45 straps, get longer laces to lace through the liner, and get custom insoles. They may be a great skate of you just want to throw grinds, but they definitely have a lot of quirks.

Personally, I hate how 909s fit and feel. I loved my 908s, but the 909 medium was too big and clunky. The schmedium might fit better, but I'm not spending that much money and then also having to buy another liner since the 909 liner is pretty bad.

Best Brand for Wide Feet

Posted by Mintitron · in r/AggressiveInline · 24 days ago

I’ve (22F) been blading for about 5 years now. I mostly do speed but I’ve been slowly learning fakey and tricks on my own. I live in the middle of nowhere so all of my skate stuff I have to buy online. I’ve used a ton of different brands but so far, K2 and Rollerblade have been best for me. Impala’s are extremely uncomfortable for me due to my feet just naturally being very wide. Lately however, it’s become more and more difficult to skate for longer sessions or performing more precise tricks because of foot pain. I usually wear size 8’s but as my skate sessions get longer, my feet tend to get slightly inflamed and it’s difficult or even painful to continue. I’m looking at purchasing a second pair of skates with smaller wheels for learning more precise tricks and possibly rail grinding. Anyone have a brand recommendation? I don’t mind paying a bit more for them, decent blades are almost always worth the price. My current pair I paid like $300 for.

If you wanna stick with rollerblade, you can’t go wrong with blanks. They fit true to size, and if you’re not feeling the fit, they have a liner lift that you can mess around with. Plus, the Cameron Talbott pro’s come in a sweet bone and green colorway……

Skates to look at for wide feet: Razors Genesys, Echo Verve, Gawds Team (great skates but research sizing - many say you can size down) . Just whatever you go with, make sure you can return them and be willing to do so. It's not a big deal, but so important when trying skates for fit. Good luck!

Which skates? Open for custom setup ideas

Posted by bink_y · in r/AggressiveInline · 2 months ago
post image

Hello there, I'm usually a silent enjoyer and upvoter of posts+comments and have been wanting to start aggressive for a while now... Been wanting to start aggressive for half a year now but the gear research is starting to stress me out, so out here looking for some help/advice. I think I have broad feet but now im suspecting its only got to do with the specific shape? (see image). My feet are flat, wide and ankle is narrow. I'd narrowed it down to a few models (rb blank, aeon team 60, 5th element, razor SL) Now I found that descriptions of experiences with wide fitting skates don't match with my experiences...

My go to skates are rollerblade twisters in 39 (says 25.0 cm) I use with a orthopedic insole (=> 0.5 cm thick) but I still get heel lift+space at the toes. When laced in a way that supports my ankles fully, my feet go numb.

Bought Frx80 in 39 (says 25.5 cm) and broke them in with ca. 20 hours BUT they feel small now so my feet go numb/hurt so badly after max 1 hour (I don't want to use my feet again after for the next couple hours). Since I want to skate street and aggressive I'm open for recommendations of boots+liner+frame combos as well.

Thanks for reading so far! Any help and hinters very much appreciated! Help another blader into the parks!

Hey yes, it is! Crazy that we almost have the same measurements! Although it depends which part of your foot is the widest and if you have equally Donald duck-flattish feet as me :D Do you have some nicely fitting skates you'd recommend?

1 upvotes on reddit
Oxide42 · 2 months ago

Based solely on your drawing, your feet curve back in from their widest points a little as you head towards your ankles, whereas mine are more of a straight line all the way from the ankle to those side bones.

I started skating again on June 8th this year, and so far almost all my skate time has been street skating. I've got two pairs - USD Aeon 60 Richie Eisler size US7-7.5, which came with a MyFit Second Skin liner, and Rollerblade RB 80 size US8.0 with its stock liner (wanted something strictly for fitness skating with bigger / faster wheels, and the RB 80 is supposed to be one of the widest boots out there for that).

I've put 65 miles on my Aeons so far, and 27 miles on the RB 80s. Both felt really tight the first few rides (plus I hadn't been on skates in 20 years, so it was a bit exhausting in general), but the Aeons feel great now with the 2nd Skin liner. The RB 80's liners are SO thick and stiff that even though it's a wider boot, it's still less comfortable for me than the Aeon. And I think your Twisters are slimmer than the RB 80s, aren't they?

I've done some REALLY mild park skating for no more than 75 minutes at a time, and my feet were sore and sometimes got a little numbness in my toes during the session, but nothing bad enough that it actually hurt, per se. Definitely not enough that I felt like I needed to stop skating. I don't do any grinds yet, but I really love how the Aeons feel so connected to the ground with their ride height.

My biggest issue was their shallow boot height. To help with that, I played around with adjusting how I laced up the boot until I found a sweet spot, removed the standard insole from the liner, and then took these Equate insoles and split the top white section off from the bottom brown section and put them under the liner (left the plastic protector insert in the very bottom of the boot - the wheels scorched the new insole without it!).

I've seen repeated recommendations that Roces 5th Elements and Razors SL are the best bet for wide feet, but I decided to roll the dice on the Aeons because the platform has such great reviews overall, and I found a clearance sale on the Richie Eisler versions that I couldn't pass up. I'm still curious to try some wider boots and see if I like them even more, but I definitely don't regret the Aeons as my first aggressive skate choice! I'd just recommend looking for some that have the MyFit Second Skin liner if you pick any up, as its their thinnest liner offering.

1 upvotes on reddit
andrew_h1000 · 2 months ago

You're an EEE width - Aeons and RBs won't make you happy. CJ2 and 5th Element are the ones to focus on, CJ2s are a tad wider. I'm about 257x105 and they both fit beautifully in am EUR41, but I'd really recommend trying them on if you can, with your width, to get the right size.

Inline wheels skate

Posted by ZCtrlAlt · in r/inlineskating · 2 months ago

Hey, so I figured that getting some marsblade might help with my edge control and balance while on ice. I got them but I read that the wheels that it comes with (80a I think) isn’t meant for wooden floors, it’s meant for outside like concrete. I wanted to practice indoors, in my house. What are some good wheels that I can get that are great for wooden floors (hardness too)Also does anyone recommend a “rocker” line up. Like going a size down for the front wheel?

If you have smooth wooden floors, that's similar to what inline hockey uses. get some 74a or 76a wheels, softer wheels will give more grip on smooth surfaces.

Secondly, the Marsblade gimmick is that it has a built in rocker-like setup - the joint between the boot and chassis can rock back and forward kind of like a rocker but better in some ways.

if you used marsblades with a rockered wheel arrangement then you've got 2 things detracting from your stability. this will be a bad thing.

Even 82A might still be too soft (too fragile) to deal with rough outdoor surfaces. Although some people might use 82A outdoors for comfort.

82A would still be OK to use indoors on wood or smooth tiles. I'm not sure what you're doing though? Hockey practice with fast tight turns leading deep on the edges?

I hear that edges feel totally different on inlines vs ice no matter what you do. I never skated on ice so I have no idea personally,

You don’t size down for a rockered setup. You don’t want the rockered wheels to be like more than 2mm to 3mm difference. 3mm already is agressive. Rockered will make you incredibly agile but you will lose some stability. There are two ways to make a rockered setup. Use a special frame where your can drop the wheels at certain point to or break in the wheels and rotate them sensibly and once the diameter differs you can rotate to rockered setup.

Don’t buy special wheels for indoors. How big is your house? Does it have a rink in it? If so then yes sure buy something harder.

But for a bit of practice indoors before venturing out I’d say just use the 80a.

Edit: this is my go to rotation manual: https://skating.thierstein.net/Knowledge/Inline_Skating_Rollerblading_Information_Wheel_rotation.html

I love 4mm in the front and 2mm in the back it's fun like ice skating, not optimal for cruising tho

best aggressive inline skates for wide feet

Key Considerations for Aggressive Inline Skates for Wide Feet:

  1. Skate Width: Look for brands that offer wider fit options or specific models designed for wider feet. Some skates come in different widths (e.g., standard, wide).

  2. Boot Material: Soft boots tend to be more forgiving and can accommodate wider feet better than hard boots. However, ensure they still provide adequate support.

  3. Liner Comfort: A well-padded liner can help with comfort and fit. Look for skates with removable liners that can be heat-molded for a custom fit.

  4. Frame Compatibility: Ensure the frame is compatible with wider wheels if you prefer a wider stance. This can enhance stability and comfort.

  5. Adjustability: Some skates come with adjustable features (like buckles or straps) that can help accommodate wider feet.

Recommendations:

  • Razors Genesys: Known for their comfort and support, the Razors Genesys skates have a wider fit and a soft boot design, making them suitable for wider feet.

  • USD Carbon Free: These skates feature a comfortable liner and a slightly wider toe box, providing a good option for skaters with wider feet.

  • K2 Fatty Pro: K2 skates are generally known for their comfort, and the Fatty Pro model has a wider fit and soft boot construction, making it a great choice for aggressive skating.

When choosing skates, it's always a good idea to try them on if possible or check return policies to ensure a proper fit.
