ORIGINAL POST

I need some recommendations on good animes that are on Hulu/Disney+. I've watched AOT 10/10, Death Note 10/10, Dandadan 9/10, erased 9/10, Promised Neverland 9.5/10, One Punch Man 10/10. Currently in S2 of My Hero Academia and enjoying it so far. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Just happy you think AOT is 10/10 😊 my fav anime

Honestly AOT isn't just a 10/10 anime. It's an incredible show in general even when compared to shows outside of anime and the action genre.

Some god ones I’ve seen on Hulu are:

Appare Ranman: a steampunk style racing anime with a good amount of action! Rated 10/10

Arte: an anime about a young girl in the 16th century, trying to become an artist. Not a romance. Rated 9/10

Spy x family : an anime about a spy and assassin having a fake marriage and a cute telepath daughter to complete a mission. Currently watching, but would rate 10/10 one of my absolute favorites!!

Spring 2024 is a good anime season for Hulu. Along with The Fable, they have Go! Go! Loser Ranger! and Mission: Yokazura Family as exclusives and are continuing with Mushoku Tensei.

Hulu has all four seasons of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? They're also current so far with My Hero Academia. We'll have to see if they get the seventh season in May. Spy x Family is a fun show that Hulu is complete on.

PS: I forgot Sand Land was another exclusive that started the season early on March 20th. It's adapted from an manga by Akira Toriyama (DBZ).

Hi Few-Refrigerator-294, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans and an awesome longer flowchart. Maybe you can find something there that you'll like ^.^

You might also find our Recommendation Wiki or daily thread helpful.

The following may be of interest:

  • List of legal streams and downloads

  • A useful website where you can enter an anime and see where it's legally streaming

  • List of currently airing anime

  • A useful wiki page with watch orders for many anime.

  • A list of tracking sites so others can more easily recommend shows you haven't watched.

Getting reincarnated into another world where you have overwhelming powers and have to fight a Demon Lord (I kid you not, this is the most popular genre of anime right now).

I know Hulu has a decent-sized anime collection now. I would like recommendations for some good ones I can start. I don't care about age so name things that are super old or so new it just came out, just as long as it's on Hulu. Here are some anime that I've watched so far: S1 of One Piece, Death Note, My Hero Academia, Little Witch Academia, One Punch Man, Charlotte, Bleach, Naruto, S1 of Attack on Titan, Rosario + Vampire, Hunter x Hunter, Black butler, Black clover, Words bubble up like soda pop, Demon Slayer, Full metal alchemist/FMA: Brotherhood, Sword Art Online, Suicide Squad Isekai, InuYasha, The promised neverland, Soul Eater

The Macross universe encompasses a loosely connected group of shows that usually involve mecha action, singing and romance to varying degrees. Starting this year, Hulu started streaming most of what's available in the Macross franchise. Due to Harmony Gold's claims due to use of the original Macross TV series in it's derivative Robotech series, the original Macross TV series and the movie Macross: Do You Remember Love are not available on Hulu.

Looking under Anime in the TV section of Hulu, I see Cowboy Bebop under Anime Classics. Also a Classic is the 1989 version of Ranma 1/2 based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi. It's a comedy of martial arts and romantic misunderstandings and some gender bending. Due to a curse, Ranma turns into a girl when cold water hits and needs to be splashed with hot water to return to his normal form. Hulu has all seven seasons.

In the New to Hulu section, there's Shangri-La Frontier. This is an action series with great animation. It takes place mostly in a virtual game world. Hulu has the first of two seasons.

The Fable was a series I enjoyed for the characters and the humor of the situation. There's action and fighting, but the animation was average at best. This series is exclusive to Hulu/Disney+.

I am hooked but don’t know where to go. I absolutely LOVED Death Note and the Disastrous Life of Saiki K. I tried out Vampire Knight and AssClass but they got predictable and boring. I want a story with a good MC and interesting story or something that will make me laugh! I’d like for it to have an English dub. As long as it keeps me hooked it should work!

If you liked Attack on Titan, check out My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Jujitsu Kaisen, or Death Note. These are a similar genre to AoT. If you want one thats a different genre, some good romance/slice of lifes are Fruits Basket and Horimiya. If you like sports and want a sports anime, try Haikyu or Kokoro Basketball.

Best anime series on Hulu

Key Considerations for Choosing Anime on Hulu:

  1. Genre Preferences: Identify what genres you enjoy (action, romance, fantasy, horror, etc.) to narrow down your options.

  2. Popularity and Ratings: Look for series that have high ratings and are well-received by audiences. User reviews can provide insight into the show's quality.

  3. Originality and Adaptations: Consider whether you prefer original series or adaptations of manga/light novels, as both can offer unique storytelling experiences.

  4. Availability of Seasons: Check if the series has multiple seasons available, especially if you want to binge-watch.

  5. Sub vs. Dub: Decide if you prefer watching in the original Japanese with subtitles or in English dubbed versions.

Top Recommendations on Hulu:

  1. "My Hero Academia" - A popular shonen series about a world where people have superpowers, focusing on a young boy striving to become a hero.

  2. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" - A beautifully animated series following a young boy on a quest to save his sister from demons.

  3. "Attack on Titan" - A gripping series with intense action and a deep storyline about humanity's fight against giant humanoid creatures.

  4. "Tokyo Ghoul" - A dark fantasy series that explores themes of identity and survival in a world where flesh-eating ghouls exist.

  5. "Fruits Basket" (2019) - A heartwarming slice-of-life series that combines romance and supernatural elements, focusing on a girl who becomes involved with a cursed family.

Takeaway: Hulu offers a diverse selection of anime series across various genres. Depending on your preferences, any of the above recommendations could be a great starting point for your anime journey!
