Restoration Hardware
Restoration Hardware is frequently mentioned as a top choice for luxury bathrobes. Users have praised their robes for being exceptionally soft, cozy, and durable over many years [2:4],
[2:7]. One user noted that they have had an RH robe for over a decade, and it still looks as good as new, which speaks to the quality and longevity of the product
[2:7].
L.L. Bean
L.L. Bean is another brand that comes highly recommended for high-quality bathrobes. Several users have vouched for the comfort and quality of L.L. Bean robes [2:8],
[2:9], though some requested more specific information on their different offerings
[2:12].
The Company Store
The Company Store is praised for its high-quality towel-style bathrobes. A user mentioned that their spa uses robes from The Company Store, which have held up well through numerous washes [2:1]. This suggests that their products are both luxurious and durable.
Long Tall Sally
For those looking for longer bathrobes that reach the ankles, Long Tall Sally is a popular choice. Users have highlighted the length and warmth of these robes, making them ideal for taller individuals or those seeking extra coverage [3:1],
[3:3].
Lands' End
Lands' End is also recommended for their bathrobes, particularly for those who need tall sizes. They offer a variety of options, and one user specifically mentioned purchasing a calf-length robe from them [3:2].
These brands offer a range of styles and qualities, catering to different preferences and needs. Whether you prioritize durability, warmth, or length, these recommendations provide a solid starting point for finding a luxury bathrobe that suits your lifestyle.
I like the “low-key” luxury: ultra-quality brands without flashy logos. Loro Piana for clothes, Carl Friedrik for minimalist luggage and bags, Mr Porter for shoes. Do you have any other brands in this vein?
Having just bought a Carl Friedrik carryon, I don't think they can be considered ultra-quality / ultra-luxury. They're upmarket but still half the price of a tumi or rimowa. They mostly compete with brands like Away.
This $1.2k Zero Haliburton spinner bag is more in line with your definition.
Spot on with Loro Piana though. Brunello and Sunspel come to mind as similar brands.
I'd consider Rimowa to fit the "ultra quality", "ultra luxury" category for luggage.
No noticeable logo, but if someone waddles up to the gate with one, I take notice immediately.
Brands with these requirements are extremely extensive, so many that go for this look/approach. BC, Zegna (most of the times when they dont use their logo), Metier bags, A ton of heritage shoe brands including but not limited to John Lobb, Edward Green, Gaziano and Girling, Moorer and Herno for outerwear etc.
Briggs and Riley for luggage. It’s style is distinct, but the logo is nondescript, and the stuff is bulletproof and lifetime warrantied
As someone who travels a lot, Rimowa is the GOAT of luggage.
Problem with rimowa is that it's gonna get scuffed up. I've read iamas here from baggage handlers who admit they toss those things because they assume a wealthy person owns them. Absurdly priced too
pre-2016 (sold to PE) TravelPro is quite sturdy and definitely under the radar. I got mine around that time and it's been solid for nearly 10 years of many travels
Ya, definitely top tier stuff. My wife has a Briggs and Riley carry-on and it is awesome.
The worst part about Briggs and Riley is that it will make you realize you don't like your other luggage.
I have the carry on and the shoulder bag. I use the shoulder bag every day for work, too, and it looks as good as new.
They have really good sales to, I have two £500 jackets that were bought at 50-60% off
They’re definitely a brand where 50% off is the «real» price. They usually have progressive sales too, which is annoying.
Absolutely quality, but I feel their latest collections have been a bit boring (but their classic jackets are still good).
This is one of the brands that let clothing nerds spot each other in public (based on the zippers) lol.
Specifically, I’m looking for the super thick, towel style, not the fuzzy ones.
When I was growing up, my parents had matching long (mid-calf), thick, plush, towel material bathrobes that lasted them decades.
I’d like something like that for my spouse and myself. We also would love a thicker bathrobe because we have a little dog who sometimes needs to go out in the night, and we do get winter where we are. We accompany her out due to occasional wild animals in our neighborhoods and she’s just too little to go alone safely, even with her spike vest.
Restoration Hardware has some options that might fit the bill for you. I had one of their fluffy robes growing up and it was exceptional to me. I just took a look at their website and their prices these days are a bit more than I wish they were but I believe in their products
I’ve had an RH robe for 10 years. It’s still super soft and cozy. I bought it because it was the WireCutter pick at the time. I just checked and it’s still the WireCutter pick for robes.
I gave my husband a Restoration Hardware robe more than 10 years ago - could be closer to 15 years ago. It still looks the same as it did new. Hard to believe, but true. My kids are always upset when, at Christmas, they ask if he is finally ready for a new robe. Another year, another lost gifting opportunity.
I recently got a Patagonia cotton robe that looks promising. The color scheme is something else, however.
They actually also sell textile things like towels sheets robes, they have a strange brand identity I agree but their stuff is very nice in my opinion, if you can find a store in person that way you can try before you buy (good luck lol)
They are my go to for towels and bedding. Most luxurious towels.
Lands End or LL Bean are both good
Another vote here for L.L. Bean.
There's a bunch of different LL Bean robes can you all be more specific please
I’ve been pleased with my towels purchased in 2023. I actually think they are better quality than the Lands End ones I was replacing from ~2011.
Third (or fourth?) LL Bean
The spa I go to uses robes from The Company Store. Awesome stuff! Feels great, and lasts through countless washes over the years.
I’m on the hunt for the warm robe I’ll wear for the next 10+ years. My current robe is … fine. But it was inexpensive and leaves everything from my mid-shins down out in the cold.
Quality is key. Pockets a bones. Budget up to $200.
So I know Land's End has talls and sells bathrobes and that's where I got my cozy one but I specifically got a calf length one. Might be worth checking what they have (even their men's stuff sometimes has good colors, so you might try it if they don't have a women's tall).
Thanks! I’ll check that out!
I'm on the short side of tall, but I got a robe a few years back from Long Tall Sally.
It drags on the floor, has pockets, and was $100 CAD. It's a fluffy, warm fabric. Lovely long sleeves, too!
Honestly one of the best clothing items I ever bought. So luxurious to have something so long to lounge around in!
That’s where I was going to recommend also. I bought one and for sure need another.
I’m loving all these other options to try too.
Drags on the floor sounds lovely for my freezing cold feet. Thank you!
I see the flairs aren't displaying properly? I'm 5'9", for reference!
Yes I have had a LTS robe for probably around 10 years and love it! I'm 5'11
Restoration Hardware. It makes me feel tiny. I'm six foot and got the XL. https://rh.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1214115&sale=false
Good find! Thank you!
Lots mentioning Long Tall Sally. I really want to get the white toweling robe. Anyone know if they do any Black Friday sales? Or cyber monday?
I’m 6’4 and I managed to snag a few from Long Tall Sally on their Mother’s Day sale in 2020. Their small reaches my arms and hits the floor!
Thank you! I’m browsing their selections!
I’m barely discovering the world of lingerie and I’m already addicted! I started off at VS like many do, but they’ve become very meh for me. I bought a set from La Perla and two from AP, but I’d like to find smaller brands that are worth the price. What brands have you come across that are worth the high price? I purchased from Fleur du Mal but was disappointed, it seemed to be mass produced but high quality material.
I've been so disappointed by AP. Their pieces feel like something from F21, for ten times the price.
My favorite things are from Tisja Damen, Studio Pia, ID Sarrieri, Bordelle, Sophia Luzon, and 13eme Lune.
Thank you so much! I barely started collecting lingerie, did AP use to be better? I want bordelle and I’m definitely going to save up for something
I've only tried them recently and just one set (which was super expensive, too big for me, and tore the first time I put it on!). But I've heard from other people that they used to be great. They were bought in the last decade, so maybe the decline was because of new ownership.
You're welcome! Good luck in your Bordelle quest. Heads up, they bill you customs when the package is shipped and it can be a lot!
I absolutely hate AP, their return/exchange process is literally one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced in my life
I’ve been really wanting to buy a Fleur du Mal set, but Honey Birdette can also be cute sometimes!
I’m planning a trip to NYC in the far future so I’m hoping to be able to see some of these lingerie stores in person. I saw the recent honey Birdette camo pieces and was not amused. I like their more classic lingerie pieces though! My sizing is so wonky though. I definitely need a store with good return/exchange policy.
If you’re going to NY, you can visit journelle, sugar cookies, azaleas.
Sometimes it’s also easier to shop from lingerie boutique websites that carry several brands because they’ll have nicer return policies than buying direct.
They're great. There's a review of their products on The Lingerie Addict website it's well worth reading.
Harlow & Fox is worth every penny! Their silk holds its colour and lustre after many washes.
Marjolaine is beautiful, comfortable and long lasting...
It isn’t “high” end (price wise or even fancy) but I absolutely adore the fuck out of my custom NaNa Underwear. It’s basics, though she does carry a few fancy things too. But honestly the stuff feels like magic and a glove fit to my measurements. I have a lavender and Emerald basic set.
Edge o beyond (I have their Charlotte, Ashitha, and Sally/Daisy) studio Pia are fantastic (Sirena and Yuna).
Honey B has some nice and cool stuff, just recommend signing up for their mailing list cause it fluctuates. I have their Alina, Kukoro Blush, and Stevie.
Honestly one of the best places to find “new brands” is Instagram. I would suggest before buying anything new though, check here and the lingerie addict maybe for brand reviews. And beware a lot of dropshippers (people who buy and sell off alibaba and Ali express). They’ve permeated to all sorts of places.but they are easy to spot after a while because they all use the same pictures.
Thank you so much! I’ve been eyeing the kukuro set but I feel like I’ve got too many rolls to wear it.
I really enjoy the following brands:
Flash you and Me, Coco de Mer, Edge o Beyond, Studio Pia, Loveday London, Tisja Damen
Oooh I’ve heard of Edge o Beyond and I’ll definitely look into all your suggestions, thank you!
This is a must have

Looking to replace and upgrade my friend's robe with a new one. The one she wears now is terry cloth/cotton. She prefers a warm, long sleeve robes that isn't too long for someone who 5'2". Thanks.
Pottery Barn has robes on sale for $100, waffle texture, 100% cotton.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
At 5’2” she’ll definitely need petite sizing to not have the sleeves & hem too long.
I love my pottery barn robe! I have had it for at least 7 years and its perfect.
But by now the quality probably isn't the same as it was
Lands End Turkish robes. I have several.
