I was looking at an M1 air MacBook as I can get it refurbished with 8gb ram and 256 GB storage for £360 and the application limitations don't effect me so the battery life and OS are very attractive. Just look at Amazon sales. In December I bought a viovook 15 for a friend and it’s pretty solid. Ryzen 7 5700U 16 gb ram 512 gb ssd and only 483€. Lenovo ideapads are also quite cheap and can go beneath 500 in a sale quite easily.

Old ThinkPads are the way my dude.

I think at that point you can comfortably get a T480 and a new battery, that should be more than enough I think, ofc depends on how you use your Photoshop. But the screen imo is good enough, the keyboard is better than anything in that price range, even better than modern ThinkPads, which I think have the best keyboards of any modern laptops. A huge plus is RAM, SSD are modular, so you can buy a cheaper one and upgrade it yourself. Modding a ThinkPad is so much easier than other laptops.

If you are feeling adventurous then maybe mod an even older ThinkPad? Something like a T420?
