Choosing the best e-bike for someone who is 6'8" and prefers a specialized model can be challenging due to the limited availability of bikes designed for very tall riders. However, several options and considerations have been discussed in various forums that could help guide your decision.
Consider Frame Size and Fit
For taller individuals, finding a bike with an appropriate frame size is crucial for comfort and performance. Many standard bike shops may not carry frames larger than 61 cm [2:1], which might be too small for someone who is 6'8"
[2:3]. It's recommended to look for brands that offer XL or XXL sizes, such as Canyon, which caters to taller riders with their larger frame sizes
[2:5]
[2:11].
Bike Models for Tall Riders
Some specific models and brands were suggested by commenters. A 6'6" rider mentioned having no issues with the RadRover 6 Plus, although they couldn't comment on the fit of the RadRunner models for someone taller [1:2]. Another user recommended DirtySixer bikes, which are specifically designed for tall people, though they noted these bikes tend to be expensive
[2:7].
Customization Options
If you find it difficult to locate a bike with a suitable frame size, customization might be an option. While some suggest that buying an XL frame and swapping parts like the stem or seat post can make a bike more comfortable for taller riders [3:3], others warn against it, suggesting that a bike purpose-built for your size will perform better
[3:4].
Recommendations Beyond Discussions
Given your height of 6'8", it's important to test ride any potential e-bike before purchasing, if possible. Consider contacting local bike shops to see if they can order larger frames for you to try, as buying sight unseen can lead to discomfort [2:2]. Additionally, exploring custom bike builders like DirtySixer could be worthwhile if your budget allows
[2:7]. Lastly, consider checking out resources like videos from GCN presenter Connor Dunne, who has shared insights on bikes suitable for very tall riders
[2:5].
Budget can be $$$
For LVP and tiled flooring in a small urban multi story space. Would need something that’s light weight and slim. I was dissuaded from buying a vacuum mop so decided to go with just a steam mop. Thanks for recommendations
For light mopping, I think you should check Shark steam mops. They offer corded & cordless options, perfect for small spaces. Both lightweight & easy to store.
Good luck.
I had a Light N Easy steam that just died after 6 years. I didn’t know it but apparently it was made by Shark .

So just to preface, we HATE shark vacuums in this sub… but I will say I’ve bought this Shark Steam Mop and I love it! Their mops are 10x better than their vacuums… and you can’t beat this one for the price!
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a new steam mop, and I'm hoping to get some recommendations from the experts. I have a variety of flooring in my home, including tile, hardwood, and linoleum, so I need a mop that can handle all of them. I'm also looking for a mop that is easy to use and cleans effectively.
I've done some research online, but I'm still feeling a bit overwhelmed. There are so many different steam mops on the market, and it's hard to know which one is right for me.
So, I'm turning to you, my fellow forum members. What is the best steam mop that you recommend? What are some things to look for when choosing a steam mop? And what are some of your favorite features of the steam mop that you use?
Thanks in advance for your help!
I use a dry microfiber mop, usually a Bona or old O-Cedar mop.
For wet mopping, I love my O-Cedar Spin Mop, but it's bulky and heavy, so it's not as convenient as a Swiffer.
I recently bought a mop to wash walls, but I've started using it for quick floor mopping too. It's been great so far, but I don't know if it can replace my spin mop yet.
I prefer my steam mop. No disposable pads or solutions or whatever else to buy, and no buckets to deal with.
Steam mops are not compatible with all floor types, but they are compatible for the tile I have
We had a Hahn steam mop that lasted for two years, even though I always used a diluted vinegar solution in the water reservoir. We think it died from the heavy minerals in our well water. We got a newer red model, which had a better mop head and was easy to use, but it only lasted for two months before dying from the minerals as well. We sent it back for a replacement under warranty, and they have so far been true to their word. We will use distilled water in the future to prevent this from happening again. I wish I could offer a non-hard water experience, but alas.

We have a Bissell hard floor cleaner. It’s just like an upright vacuum and sucks up the water as it cleans.
Works really well for us - we live in Washington state where it’s always wet and muddy and we have a Labrador.
Check out this post on the "High-Quality Tools" website for the best steam mops in 2024:
Bissell 2685A. I’m a professional housecleaner and I love the portability of this mop. It breaks down, can be used with/without the extensions, has grout attachments and so much more. I seriously love it!
Thank you for submitting a cleaning help request. In order to facilitate more accurate and helpful replies, please make sure to provide the following information in your post:
Our top recommendations are usually Bar Keepers Friend (great for kitchen surfaces), melamine foam (Magic Erasers), Murphy's Oil Soap (wood cleaner), and Nature's Miracle (enzyme cleaner). Make sure you use cleaners appropriate to the surfaces you are working with and follow all safety labels.

I've had my Shark steam 2-in-1 Blast and Scrub for years and love it.
I believe the exact model is discontinued, but they make similar models.
I like it because in addition to using it as a steam mop, you can detach the handle and it came with several attachments to use it as a steam cleaner in other ways with the various attachments.
I'm looking for one that has a reservoir for the cleaning solution (and maybe one for the pickup of the dirty water?), that has one of those two circular rotating in opposite directions pads style, one that has mopping pads and scrubbing pads (no need for waxing) and has reusable machine washable pads. It needs to be powerful. I dont care if its cordless or not.
Can anyone recommends one? I've been browsing and they all look the same and all have mixed reviews and wildly disparate pricing.
Thanks in advance.
This is the sort of thing I am looking for, but good functionality. Honestly I'd prefer a corded one, so I'm not limited by an X-minute charge.
UPDATE: decided to try out the Bissell Spinwave Plus corded version which comes with scrubby brushes and regular ones that are all machine washable as well as a reservoir for cleaning solution which you dole out at the press of a button as necessary. I will update with my satisfaction or lack thereof.
Steam mops use water rather than cleaning solution. They have a reservoir and you add the water to it, then plug it in. The water is heated up until it creates steam. You then push the mop (with reusable washable mop pads) across the floor. The water is so hot that it dries very quickly, so no need to go over it again to mop up puddles.
Pros: the steam sanitizes your floor. It's quick and easy. Takes no chemicals so safe and allergen-free. Also no build-up from sticky solutions that only attract more dirt and dust. You toss the reusable cleaning pads in the wash -- no need to buy anything. Though some do suggest you use distilled rather than tap water.
Cons: doesn't come with rotating scrub brushes like you mentioned, and you can't use it on unsealed hardwood floors.
I don't know how dirty your floors get compared to my own, so I can't say whether it's best for light or heavy duty cleaning. I started using it on a newly renovated house and used it regularly (once a week) so wasn't tackling heavy years of build up. No pets but kids, and a 4-season environment so salt and mud and sand were a given. I also always vacuum the floors before mopping.
The Bissel is an upright and it's pretty compact and easy to use. There are more heavy-duty canister versions out there, some come with all kinds of attachments for steam cleaning other things like your shower and kitchen appliances and sinks. I had one of those for awhile, but it was clunky for use on the floor. I eventually gave it away as I found I mostly needed it for floor use, and the Bissel was more convenient to drag out.
Are you still happy with the Bissell spinwave?
It’s not exactly what you describe, but I would absolutely love one of these !
How it took down that whole egg really did it for me...!
I just recently bought the bissel pro heat revolution pet pro model for carpets so this one is very familiar in design but I just don't think a soft brush is gonna be strong enough for the cleaning I need to do. Do you know if they offer alternative brushes?
Unfortunately I don’t own one (yet!!) so I’m not sure if they do other brushes - I found it from watching the same channels review of a Karcher hard floor cleaner, where he said the the Bissell was much better, and it certainly seemed to work well on the jam...!
Head over to the Vacuum Wars YouTube channel and check out their reviews, tests, and comparisons of floor cleaners. You may find what you're looking for.
I will tell you my experience with such machines, though. I thought they were a pain in the neck. They were heavy (though I'm sure they now make lighter ones), and bulky and you had to find a place to store them and their attachments. It was such a pain to haul it out that I kept reaching for my regular mop because it was just easier and faster.
I'm finding my regular mop doesnt clean well enough
I didn't find that the machines were much of an improvement. Though I'm sure they have improved them since the one I had. I still had to drag my mop out to pick up excess water from the floor ... the extraction component didn't work all that well.
Would you consider a steam mop? I like my Bissel.
Thank you for responding! Did you find any alternatives to the cleaning solution?
Thank you for the review and update!
I've decided to try the Bissell Spinwave Plus (corded version). Will report findings once it arrives.
Respond with your favorite brands :)
I have a Shark and love it.
Need something under 200 dollars that is easy to use, easy to setup, and reliable.
Just got the PurSteam steam mop 10-in-1 last month and it's pretty awesome. Super easy to use and works great on different surfaces.
Love that it cleans without chemicals and dries fast.
Plus, it’s under $100. Definitely a solid buy!
Edit: I found a review that pretty much sums up my thoughts, especially the pros and cons, I've added the link.
Bissеll 2685A. I’m a profеssional housеclеanеr and I lovе thе portability of this mop. It brеaks down, can bе usеd with/without thе еxtеnsions, has grout attachmеnts and so much morе. And you can also chеck thе stеam mops rеcommеndеd by rеddit usеrs list

Just got the Bissell Power Steamer 3-in-1 at home and it's a game changer for cleaning floors. Super versatile, not just a steam mop but also turns into a handheld steam cleaner. Blasts through dirt and grime, and it's chemical-free.
Hands down the Bissell 1940 is great, but no pressure to get it!
You should only use plain, preferably distilled, water in a steam mop. No cleaners or essential oils.
No chemicals in the steam mop but you can spray cleaner on the floor and mop over it
Shark makes a good one
Like my white wing.
I have had a steam mop for some years (a Haan). Only use water in any steam mop. I have used tap water but if yours is mineral-y you might use distilled.
I simply find it easier than a conventional mop because you don't have to stand at the sink and wring and try to get the dirt out. Just change the pad - use as many as you like.
I don't have evidence that a steam mop sanitizes better but it's sure nice to throw the pad into the washer and know it's getting really clean.
If you have lot of narrow spaces or tight corners, a conventional mop reaches where the steam mop doesn't.
Thank you! (:
I'm keen to get a steam mop, and am largely wondering if its worth it to drop a bit of coin and get something fancy, or if theyre all much the same?
Karcher are the best ones. They do hot and cold steam cleaners that have mop attachments and Wands. The wands are great for kitchen deep cleans.
Second this. The three steam mops we have had have all failed due to water calcification. Karcher has a water filter to help prevent this. Early days yet with our Karcher but so far its exceeding expectations.
I have a clothing steamer which I only use distilled water in to avoid that from happening. It might be a bit costly if I'm also using distilled water to clean my floors, so I guess that's good knowledge!
Dont use it on laminate flooring fyi. Lino and tiles only (my mum found this out the hard way and is replacing her laminate flooring and we got a free steam mop from her)
I have a Sheffield, gifted. Comes with attachments and it's brilliant. No complaints at all, had it for 2 years now.
Kmart one isn't bad
Looking for one for my one bedroom place.
I def want a hand held option to clean counter tops and in the bath.
Right now considering a Steamfast 3 in 1 or the Shark Lift Away steam mop.
Seems like all of the steam mop reviews have tons of awful reports of breaking. I guess I want one that gets enough hot steam out to actually disinfect, a water tank that lasts decently, won't break/leak, and the ability to go hand held.
We have the Siena Luna. Was rated as best a few years back. Do like it but there may be better now.
does the steam get very hot?
It isn’t as hot as a large steam unit but I think it does ok for a steam mop. I think most steam mops are probably right at boiling. But it heats the pad so does a good job at cleaning.
Pur Steam K I bought it off of Amazon it works really well.
i can't find the k model
I have a Bissell (the previous gen of this model) - it works fantastic. The newer one is an improvement on 2 design flaws (the old scent discs lived in the hot, wet, pad and the tank pulled out which was handy - but the cap breaks (i've gone through 2) -
you can also find replacement (get a 2-3pk) mop pads for these cheap on amazon/ebay that aren't the brand name.

I'm only looking for one that goes "handheld" so I can clean countertops too. I might buy the powerfresh lift-off...it's more than twice the poweredge lift-off, though...for just a couple more oz of tank capacity, and continous steam rather than having to hold down the button? Don't care about the scent disks...I hate perfume.
I have the Thermopro 10 in 1 and I love it.
Thanks..sadly very expensive to ship to canada.
I have had a shark for almost ten years and it still works great. Can’t recall the model though.
Impressive
is there an option for hand held for counters?
I just got the Bissell and it's pretty darn good..
Philips aquatrio or dyson submarine. I have a philips, I bought it before dyson came up with theirs. There’s also hizero but it’s not really a vacuum, just a mop.
best cordless steam mop
Key Considerations for Choosing a Cordless Steam Mop:
Steam Time: Look for a model that offers a long steam time (at least 20-30 minutes) on a full tank to minimize interruptions during cleaning.
Heat-Up Time: A quick heat-up time (around 30 seconds to 1 minute) is ideal for efficient cleaning without long waits.
Weight and Design: Choose a lightweight and ergonomic design for easy maneuverability, especially if you have multiple rooms to clean.
Cleaning Pads: Check if the mop comes with washable and reusable cleaning pads. Microfiber pads are effective for picking up dirt and can be machine washed.
Versatility: Some steam mops can also be used on different surfaces (hardwood, tile, laminate) and may come with attachments for cleaning upholstery or carpets.
Water Tank Capacity: A larger water tank means less frequent refilling, which can be a significant time-saver.
Recommendation: The Bissell PowerFresh Slim Steam Mop is highly regarded for its versatility and performance. It heats up quickly, has a decent steam time, and includes various attachments for different cleaning tasks. If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, consider the Shark Genius Hard Floor Cleaning System, which also offers good steam performance and comes with washable pads.
