I hate to be picky about it but if the show doesn’t grab my attention in the first 2-3 episodes then I’m done with it. I know not every show will be a masterpiece but I love crime dramas with great stories and cinematography. Any you can recommend that’s really worth the time?

Note: im currently watching squid game and I like it so far.

Also don’t recommend slow horses that thing couldn’t get my attention for the life of me.

House of Dragon Succession The Blacklist The Wire The Shield Breaking bad Better call Saul Tokyo Vice Mayor of Kingstown
The last of us Jack Ryan Justified Justified city primeval Burn Notice 24 (stopped on season 6) Penguin The Agency Landman Dune prophecy Cross Bosch Dexter Banshee (stopped on season 3) Dexter resurrection Daredevil Reacher Ray Donovan Snowfall Homeland All the narcos Top Boy (stopped on season 2) Mobland SOA True Detective Sopranos Prison Break (stopped on season 3) Peaky Blinders Animal kingdom

I think it is good but very very drawn out. They could have wrapped everything up neatly in 2 enjoyable seasons.

Both actors playing the lead detectives were great. Good chemistry. The victims dad was irritating.

True Detective seasons 1 & 3. Some great writing and incredible acting. Highly recommended but be warned it’s dark subject matter.

The Bridge is good.

Edit: sorry, sorry, sorry. TD isn’t on NF. My bad.

I need recommendations for crime/detective shows on Netflix

I really enjoyed Mindhunter and The Sinner. Are there any similar shows on netflix that have the same genre? I enjoy slow burn shows that have a serious tone throughout.

Movies are welcome too but no true crime documentaries though. I've probably seen every true crime documentary on netflix by now.

Thanks!

Edit: Oh wow I didn't expect this many responses. Thanks for all the recommendations! I'll check them out over the weekend

[Request] Please recommend an action/thriller/mystery series

Posted by ro2ro · in r/NetflixBestOf · 3 years ago

I have a few days off (It's a holiday in my country) and I am looking for my next binge.

I already watched most of Ozark, Stranger Things, Black Orphan (I am on the 2nd season and I am quitting), Squid games, Money Heist.

I tried Mr Robot and I am not liking it as much as I was told I would. I tried Dark but I find it very difficult to follow. Watched the first two episodes of Narcos and the constant narration turned me off.

In the past I watched Prison Break, Breaking Bad (my favorite so far), Lost, Better Call Saul.

Thanks in advance.

Based on squid game: alice in borderlands - still people playing ‘games’ albeit in a different setting

Ozark/BB: how to sell drugs online (fast) - basically teenage breaking bad
Additionally, if you want to flip the script: undercover (and prequel movie Ferry) is an amazing series about cops trying to go after a big dutch xtc manufacturer. (Season 2 is skippable if it doesn’t quite grab your interest, season 3 is great again)

This does remind me of Fargo. Every season is a different story and it’s quite interesting. Think you might like it based on what you named, but that one isn’t always available

And I’ll also add the first season of Altered Carbon to the recommendations (you can continue but the first season is best and a finished whole itself)

[Request] Fast paced crime show

Posted by Royal-Geologist587 · in r/NetflixBestOf · 2 years ago

Im looking for a fast paced, suspenseful drama/crime show. Looking for something with a good story line and a charismatic mc. I like a romance/sex narrative, I loved banshee, true detective, breaking bad, ozark, and many others similar to these. As long as it is like somewhat upon the lines of this criteria, any recommendations would be very appreciated :)

Edit: I’d prefer if the series has multiple seasons as I like to get invested in a show :)

I wouldn't call it "fast paced" if you mean over in an hour.

This is, however, one of my favourite crime shows. Most definitely doesn't drag at all.

It's a version of the Danish television series titled Forbrydelsen.

Both excellent and can highly recommend. Sometimes the English remakes don't quite hit it but this is an absolute win.
