Dodge Viper
The Dodge Viper is frequently hailed as the best performance vehicle ever made by Dodge. Known for its raw power and minimal driving aids, the Viper stands out as a manual sports car that competes with modern mid-engine supercars [1:1]
[1:3]. Enthusiasts admire it for being challenging to drive, which adds to its allure
[5:4]. The Viper's design and engineering have kept it relevant in discussions about top-tier performance cars
[5:2].
Dodge Charger
The Dodge Charger has been a staple of American muscle cars, with various models and years offering different advantages. The 1968-1970 Chargers are often cited for their iconic design [2:5]
[2:6]. More recent models from 2019 onwards offer enhanced aesthetics and materials, resembling the Hellcat's slim body
[2:1]. However, certain years like 2011-2014 have been noted for mechanical issues such as lifter failures
[2:2].
Challenger Models
The Challenger lineup, including models like the SRT Demon, Hellcat Redeye, and RT Scatpack, consistently ranks among the top Dodge cars [4:2]. These models are celebrated for their powerful engines and aggressive styling, making them popular choices for those seeking classic American muscle.
Historical Favorites
Some historical models, like the 69/70 Hemi Charger Daytona, are revered for their significance and impact on automotive history [3:1]. These cars represent the golden era of muscle cars and continue to be celebrated by enthusiasts.
Considerations Beyond Performance
While the Viper is often considered the pinnacle of Dodge's offerings in terms of speed and style, it's not necessarily practical for everyday use [5:10]. For daily driving needs, other models might be more suitable. Additionally, the market value for Vipers, especially ACR models, has significantly increased, making them less accessible
[5:12].
In summary, the Dodge Viper and Charger are standout models in Dodge's lineup, with the Challenger series also holding strong appeal. Historical models like the Hemi Charger Daytona add depth to Dodge's legacy, while practical considerations may lead buyers to explore other options within Dodge's diverse offerings.
Where is the Viper and Challenger?
The Viper is legit the best Dodge ever made.
...how many Dodge Vipers have you seen in the past on the roads?
Now ask yourself the same question about 1999 Dodge Neons. I think we have our answer.
Tuned+built 12v/24v would like a word… 😂
They should bring the viper back with a w12 or w16
Or even a big V10
That’s what I’m saying
The Viper hands down is the best performance vehicle Dodge has ever built. It still competes in the current world of mid-engine supercars while being at its base a rwd manual sports car. It took Ford and Chevy couple hundred more hp, DSGs, and almost a decade of r&d to beat the Ring time of 7:01
Man, the Viper is a beast fr. Just raw power, no fancy assists, just you and the car tryna not die 😂. Gotta respect a car that still holds up against today’s tech-packed monsters.
No Viper no care

Like 2009 or 2013 any good?
2011-2014 Hemis are more prone to lifter failures than any other years.
2014 dodge durango any good? Its an sxt with 150k miles. Priced at $10k. In California.
The 3.6 has oil cooler issues. If your mechanically inclined it's not that hard to replace. Also, the 3.6 has lifter failures but are less prone than a hemi. My wife's 2016 is pushing 150k without any major issues. A couple of days ago we turned down a trade in off on her limited of $5k. You can definitely work them down a little.
1968-1970
Well obviously it’s 2020, because that’s what I have 🤣
2019+ they made all v8s look like the hellcats (slim body). Plus package has nicer materials like stitched dash and door panels

The Dodge brothers, John and Horace, laid the foundation for what would become one of the most recognizable automobile brands in the world. In the 1960s, Dodge introduced the iconic Charger, a sleek and powerful muscle car that captured the imagination of a generation. Conclusion:
In conclusion, Dodge stands as a shining example of American automotive excellence. From its humble beginnings to its status as a global powerhouse, Dodge has captivated generations of enthusiasts with its innovative designs, potent performance, and unwavering commitment to quality. As we look to the future, one thing remains certain: the legacy of Dodge will continue to inspire and endure for years to come.
The Viper is my ultimate halo car. It doesn't even need to be the ACR which is cool but incredibly unobtainable. Seeing a fifth gen red GTS would get me harder than any Lambo/McLaren/Bugatti/Porsche whatever nonsense hyper car is being made these days.
If I ever win the lottery I’m getting a Viper GTR it’s my all time favorite car for a reason
I ran across this one morning and literally sat staring at it for 15 minutes trying to get up the nerve to go into the restaurant it was parked in front of at 7a to ask if I could park next to him and take pics. I had just traded up challengers for a wide body shakedown…and I actually felt bad that I fell that hard for another car. Lol
If I had allllll the money…my garage would have this ACR cuddling up with the shakedown. Then I’d just sit in the garage drooling all day.
The ACR’s are literally double their original MSRP basically ever since Covid, and I absolutely hate it. It was my dream car, and it’ll probably never happen now. Even standard GTS models and stuff damn near doubled since Covid. It’s terrible.
The Viper was more car than car enthusiasts could handle.
It literally has everything enthusiasts claim to want in a car it has a big engine, RWD, few nanny systems, cool looks, and it’s relatively affordable compared to its competitors, yet it’s not as desirable because the fact is it’s a beast to tame and most enthusiasts don’t have the skills to properly drive this thing.
I made the mistake of being in Middle and High School when I should have been buying Vipers.
My bad everyone.
The carrera gt is unpredictable. So is the viper.
Many other vehicles behave linearly. Break loose slowly. Give the driver a chance to recover.
Other vehicles break like a sling shot. Once they go they’re gone.
Maybe it’s the tires.
Nah, the best car Dodge has ever made was the one Al Bundy kept in his garage. He threw a 100 yard pass to win the high school Championship game. He had that Sportscar in the garage , collecting dust, but he had it.
Wasn't there a whole episode where Al would get a Viper if his old car hit 1 million miles?
That was Plymouth Duster
For daily driving, getting groceries, and family road trips? Probably not.
For going fast and looking cool? Definitely
Do you have any recommended Dodge cars?
We are a Mopar family. We have a Chrysler Town & Country, Chrysler 300C, Jeep Commander, and Dodge Challenger. We used to be a Ford family, until we got the 300 new and it changed my thoughts on Chrysler. It's been an amazing car; 15 years old, nearing 200k miles, and still drives like new with no mechanical issues. My little brother has a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chrysler 200, and Ram 1500 in his garage. All great vehicles.
Same. My family used to be Hardcore Chevy (We still like Chevy), but when my parents bought a 2005 Durango in 2006, they were hooked. My dad has had a couple Jeep's. We still have that Durango and an 80's Jeep Grand Cherokee, along with a 2012 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman and a 2019 Grand Cherokee. Then there's me with a 1976 Dodge Dart Sport and my Grandpa has a 1971 Plymouth RoadRunner. My sister drives around an early 2000's Ram Cummins.
The only oddball now is my Brother, who owns a Ford Expedition, a 1994 Blazer and a 90's GMC Sierra, which used to be my dad's daily.
Durango SRT, after a Challenger Scatpack, after a Challenger R/T
How you like it so far? I was actually thinking about trading my Scatpack in for a beautiful 18 with low mileage. Can use that third row for my kids.
I love the thing. The scat pack Challenger was an exercise in being careful not to push the accelerator too hard because the tires would spin. Even if you're running 50 mph. Forget driving it in the rain or on cold pavement.
The Durango SRT has the same engine but all-wheel drive and is a bit heavier plus wider tires. All that keeps the power going forward instead of spinning. Plus more room inside.
Loved the Challenger for the most part. It's a bad ass vehicle that brings a smile to your face. But the Durango harnesses all that power to make it more useful and still has that exhaust tone that is so awesome. I smile just as much without having to be so careful.
Charger hellcat redeye jailbreak
Challenger hellcat
Did you really hit that debris a month after getting it/ your dream car
Srt4/ram truck/scat pack charger/neons
Good lord man. Leave some car and women for the rest of us will you? Lol.
I have had my wife for 23 years, you can have all the other ones I don't want em!
Whats your specs ? Octane red with alcantara interior
My dream car
This thing wiped the smirk off my face like nothing. I’m in love. I don’t think it was 9.0L, but that damn thing is so fast and agile.
God I’m already for winter to be over so I can get mine out of the garage
Same here man, I'm staring at mine in storage just waiting for spring. I gotta give the video credit, not many reviews on YouTube accurately explain why the Gen V is special.
Mine has identical options to this car besides the colors... GTS suspension with TA 1.0 aero, track pack, Laguna leather, carbon packs, Sidewinder IIs. Just hit 10k miles last summer.
It’s hard to narrow it down but these are the 10 mopars I would take. 58 Plymouth fury, 55 chrysler 300, 62 dodge dart, 66 dodge charger, 1969 dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Challenger T/A, 1979 Dodge PowerWagon, 92 Dodge Dakota, 1992 Dodge Viper, 2023 Dodge Charger widebody
Solid list. Mine in no particular order. '61 300G, '69 Daytona, '70 AAR cuda, '70 Challenger R/T shaker, '71 Plymouth Road runner, '98 Viper, '78 Volare kit car or Aspen Super Coupe, '70 Super Bee, '71 Swinger, '93 cummins club cab 4x4.
My old man and I are most of the way there on putting it together with clones/tributes. Don't have the '61 300g but do have a '68 Charger 383, '70 Barracuda 318, '70 Challenger R/T 383, '71 Satellite Sebring + 318, no Viper yet but have a lead on one, '78 Aspen 318, no '70 bee, '71 /6 Swinger and '93 club cab 4x4 manual 12v.
That’s a great collection. A viper would be an amazing addition to it too
Thanks! Lot of fun to build and drive em! The '71 swinger now 340 4spd.
The charger before it got torn down and put on the spinner where it still is 10 years latter. Need to get back on this one.
The super coupe before putting the flairs back on
That dodge dart though 🤤😵💫
Gotta have the 61 sweptline in there.
I have one of those exact cars.
If I had to pick one of your top 10 it would be the 62 dart
You could say the last of the "American" muscle car.
MB AMG products were the closest us Europeans had to those V8 coupes, now they're turbo V8 or V6 (even I4), I can't say they're muscle cars.
Holden in Australia gave the US the Pontiac GTO in the mid 2000s but they died in 2019 I think.
No one else built V8 muscle cars like the Challenger anywhere at the end of its run.
I adore my Challenger, it's unapologetically American and just puts a smile on my face driving it.
The Cadillac CT5-V is still being made, outliving the Challenger as the last pure American musclecar.
The Dodge Challenger has really been the only one to not stray super far away from the Muscle car formula.
Both the Mustang and Camaro are far far more sporty than they are muscle cars
I never have really liked the Challenger, but I think It did win the war as it was really the only true Muscle car left when it departed.
I have a Camaro and I agree with this, the Challenger was the last of its breed.
Its kind of telling when you can put the recent generations of Mustangs and Camaros mixed in with BMWs and Audis and a lot of the European Sports cars and they blend in/mix with the Aesthetic, but you put the Challenger in and it sticks out.
I'm approving of any of the Brotherhood of Muscle don't get me wrong, but the modernization of those two was what turned me away from them and made me double down on getting a Challenger, all of what "holds it back" the dated looks and interior/exterior, the weight and space, the juiced and roided out variations of an engine design thats older than I am. Its all that I love. It speaks volumes that the Challenger didn't "need" to be modernized, and what it got was just enough to keep it relevant in a tech heavy and feature packed market. And I like that.
I call mustang's and camaro's "Detroit BMW's™" as they are competent at turning and being daily, but the soul of, big engine medium size car with a stick shift at a red light is kinda lost on them. Yes its good to move on and improve but something about that feeling of big engine and big power with about as much sophistication to confuse the guy even interested in these as to how to spell that word is the real appeal.
So if a muscle car handles well, it isnt a muscle car anymore? Looking the most retro, and handling the worst doesn't make it anymore muscle car. The winner of the muscle car wars is the car community.
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing follows the recipe to a T and is glorious in every aspect, completely slept on.
I mean isn’t it the only muscle car? Chargers, Mustangs and Camaros aren’t muscle cars anymore
The GTO based on the Holden Monaro? No way. Nothing muscle car about that. It's a refined rwd coupe. I think the last, true, Pontiac muscle car was the Lemans.
If thats what we’re going off of, then Crown Victorias, corvettes, vipers, CTSVs, and 300Cs are all muscle cars
Mopar certainly beat the camaro and mustang in terms of being a truer muscle car.
The mustang and camaro put a lot of their emphasis on handling and weight distribution, while a true muscle car could care less about stuff like aero
