Lexus LS Series
The Lexus LS series is often regarded as the pinnacle of luxury within the Lexus lineup. It is known for its exceptional comfort, advanced technology, and refined performance. The LS offers a smooth ride with a powerful engine and a luxurious interior that includes high-quality materials and state-of-the-art features. It's a flagship model designed to compete with other luxury sedans like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series.
Lexus RX Series
The Lexus RX series is another popular choice among luxury SUVs. It combines a comfortable ride with a spacious interior and a reputation for reliability. The RX offers a hybrid option, which provides better fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. It is well-suited for those who want a versatile vehicle that can handle both city driving and longer road trips comfortably.
Lexus ES Series
For those looking for a more affordable entry into the Lexus luxury experience, the ES series offers a compelling option. It provides a comfortable and quiet ride with a focus on passenger comfort. The ES has been praised for its spacious interior and user-friendly infotainment system. It's an excellent choice for those who prioritize comfort and value in a luxury sedan.
Lexus GX Series
The Lexus GX series is a luxury SUV that offers off-road capability along with its premium features. It is built on a truck-like frame, making it suitable for those who need a vehicle capable of handling rugged terrain while still providing a luxurious experience. The GX is equipped with advanced safety features and a robust V8 engine, making it a strong contender for those who enjoy outdoor adventures but don't want to compromise on luxury.
Considerations Beyond the Discussions
While these models are highlighted for their luxury appeal, it's important to consider your specific needs and preferences when choosing a Lexus vehicle. Factors such as budget, intended use (e.g., city driving vs. off-road), and desired features should all play a role in your decision-making process. Additionally, visiting a dealership for a test drive can provide valuable insight into which model best suits your lifestyle.
The Lexus HS was Lexus’ attempt to capitalize on rich American bougie folk buying Priuses to make themselves appear green. There was a market for a luxury efficient hybrid, and Toyota-Lexus wanted to capitalize on it.
So how did they do it?
They took the hybrid powertrain from 2007’s XV40 Camry, and slapped it onto a 2009 T270 Avensis body from Toyota’s European lineup. The end result was a car that was bigger than a Prius, had less space, and only did ~38 mpg instead of the ~50 the Prius would do.
But hey. It was slightly faster (188 hp, vs. the XW30 Prius’ 134). Which completely defeats the purpose of an efficient hybrid, but whatever. Maybe that’s why sales were so horrific that the HS was pulled from the US market after just two model years, 2010-2012. It was replaced in the lineup with the Lexus CT, which genuinely was just a Prius in a rather sexy suit, that saw very good sales all around until Americans decided to stop buying passenger cars.
Today though, the HS is extremely cheap on the used market, and the Camry powertrain means it’s both very reliable and very cheap to service. A solid steal of a deal if you find one used and want a semi-luxury commuter car.
Still wish they made the ct200
The UX is the successor to the CT, and it's pretty damn similar.
Drove the top spec ux it was cool wasn’t the biggest fan of the styling tho
Other countries get the LBX which is really the successor
I always wanted them to make a pure gasoline version (even better with a manual) but it never happened. At least the GR Corolla is the consolation prize a few years later.
Me too, that would be perfect for my next car.
I had an F Sport of the last year made and it was a decent car. I would have kept it but it had the worst interior rattles of any car I've ever owned. Passenger seat rocked over any bump, door panels creaked, and the infotainment was garbage. Strangely I ended up replacing it with a 911.
The HS was closer to the Corolla than the Prius. But these days with Toyota New Global Architecture, all of Toyota’s non-frame based vehicles is basically a Prius. My parent’s new Camry is basically a big Prius in sedan drag. The last two generations of Prius introduced TNGA(2016) and the refresh of it(2023). Before TNGA, Toyota had their smaller cars on a Daihatsu platform(US got them as the Yaris), the compact Corolla/Prius/RAV4 platform and the Camry platform for Highlander/Kluger, Lexus ES/RX(JDM Windom and Harrier), Avalon and Sienna. SUVs and trucks used variants of the Land Cruiser or Hilux platforms, the first two generations of Tundra were a weird mix of Hino and Hilux. RWD Lexus models were built on the Crown platform. It’s now TNGA-C/K for mainstream cars/CUVs/minivans, L for “luxury/sports” Lexus models and the current Mirai, and F for trucks/4Runner/LC.
The Scion tC was our Avensis in the US.
Yes, the HS was closely related to the Toyota Avensis, although it had different body panels. (So was the Scion tC, BTW).
I think the biggest killer of the HS was the ES Hybrid, which arrived in MY2013. The HS was a compact-midsize tweener with odd proportions, but the ES was bordering on full-size—having adopted the longer Avalon’s floor pan and wheelbase—and it got far better fuel economy. And it looked better, too.
I only just noticed but I see a lot of current gen Corolla in the HS250h. That side profile and rear end genuinely threw me off for a second.
OP is going to be upset when he finds out what the CT200 is lol
I'm on stage 3 moon with 1600 cat food and I'm wondering if I should spend it on this event or should I wait for ultra souls.
Also 2 extra questions:
should should I save 11 rare tickets for guaranteed uber od does it not work like that?
If I didn't previously spend cat food on rare tickets am I able to get 2 guaranteed ubers from this event for discounted price? (2x 750)
You cannot use rare tickets for an eleven roll. Neo best of the best however, is much less common than ultra souls, only appearing in special events. It's one of the best sets to roll, but in a few weeks, there will be an event called 'superfest' on, and that is probably what you should save your rare tickets for.
Can u give me a short list of best events I should spend on? (With guaranteed uber)
Anything with 'fest' in the name, anything with a guaranteed eleven draw, and the best banners to roll (other than the fest's) are the almightys, the dynamites, and ultra souls. The ones you shouldn't roll is pretty much just the nekolugas. As said previously, superfest is coming up soon (early October), so I'd say save your tickets for that.
Actually it's far from being one of the best banners. Most of the Ubers are either very mid or just decent. Only roll if you really want Agent Staal.
I stand corrected. Wait for superfest
I heard both of the best of the best banners don't have 100% guaranteed Uber rolls on them
Oh you are right
I would pick 20 and do a second pass. 15 looks great, and 10 has a little underextrusion, so anything below 10 is not good.
I’m with you. I never know which one to pick. Would love to know if someone has put together a complete guide on how to determine the best one.
You should really ignore the number and focus on the block
Use your fingers and find the smoothest, then go back one and start the next set from that one to fine tune it. So if the smoothest is -5, go to -10 for the next test and you may find the true smoothest result is 7 or 3 or something.
Its not about how the print looks but feels, as the looks can solved with different settings, its a pure flow test.
Is it just smoothest in the very center? What about the edges? Sometimes the edges are kinda rough but the center seems smooth.
Check out Teaching Tech's GitHub! He has a full calibraration guide.
both 15 look pretty good. But with recent printers, I don't see these tests doing anything anymore.
Did you measure any of them?
Hey there, I'm a bot and something you said made me think you might be looking for help! click here for our wiki entry on troubleshooting printers. If you still need help be sure to post plenty of information about your printing setup.
Here are a few questions that might be helpful
What printer are you using?
What material are you using?
What speed are you printing at?
What software are you using to slice the print and control the printer?
When did the problem start/has it ever worked correctly?
Does anything cause the behavior to change?
If posting an image of the problem, include some indication of the orientation it printed at, preferably photograph it on the bed. (Then we can focus on a specific axis)

Use a fingernail and scrape across the lines. The smoothest one is your selection. Visually 10 and 15 look good.
Yess 15 seems smoothhhh. So I do 1.15*0.98 and put it in, then do test 2 right?
I think so. It’s been a while since I look at it. The calibration page (linked at the slicer menu) has more details. Orca slicer’s wiki is a bit better but same info will work.
-10 look at number also
10
-15 and -20
-15 and -20
Best boobs too

Damn right Drive My Car is the best Oscar film of 2021
Jury is in, folks: Lexus is the top dog brand for all things plush and affordable--with Land Rover coming in DEAD last. 😂
Acura should be way more to the right, there's no way it's behind lincoln, infiniti and cadillac in quality.
> Acura should be way more to the right, there's no way it's behind lincoln, infiniti and cadillac in quality.
Are the metrics for the quality score available anywhere? I know there have been other quality surveys where user friendliness of the infotainment system factors hard into this. And in that case, Acura's older system with the touchpad that's still in the RDX and TLX and was only updated for the MDX this past year could be factoring heavily into the "quality" score.
Yeah these metrics must be including something like that, when I think of quality I think mainly about how reliable and durable everything is. But I guess if they are talking about the gizmos and touchscreens then maybe Cadillac is "higher quality".
Acura is bang on. My TLX has so many absolutely horrible issues that there are no solutions for. Weak subframe, cheap steel that starts rusting straight away.
Cadillac ranked in front of Acura for quality? Something is off there.
Acura/Honda has slipped in recent years. Cadillac, has been quietly gaining ground. I’m not a fan of their infotainment but by most metrics they are night and day different from the caddy’s of the early 2000s
It may have slipped - but not behind BMW, Lincoln, Cadillac, and Mercedes.
As a 2016 TLX owner, I can tell you this graph is absolutely accurate. My TLX has issues that even Acura doesn’t have answers for.
...the inverse of Lexus...
I had a Top of the range Discovery as a courtesy car for two weeks from my insurance company. Fucking horrible, the handling modes were off to what you'd expect, the infotainment system was terrible to use, it was under powered and felt lethargic to drive around town.
The only positives, were the vented seats were pretty good and the interior was nice.
I got to go in a Merc EQB 250, nice and smooth, the dash looks messy and shutting the doors, it felt cheap. My Type R and Civic Prestige felt better built, and my NX is streets ahead.
Prestige brands are getting lazy.
Fast question for you, does your TX have condensation on the rear passenger side from the air conditioner? I had to write to Lexus about my 350 because the service people said that it's common and there's nothing they can do about it. Kind of bummed about it, but at this point there's nothing I can do about it. They obviously don't have enough insulation between the condensation mine that's there and the car. Just curious if you're seeing that as well. Literally every time we drive the car it has a lot of condensation on it.
Quality axis is so messed up. Cadillac offers more quality than BMW, Porsche? Not even their GM can say that with a straight face.
im not a big car guy at all, to me a car is a car but for years the lexus lc 500 is the most beautiful dream car to me besides some Bugattis but considering bugattis cost millions id take an lexus. i dont own a car currently and been saving up and still inanely far from own a lexus (11k saved) what do you do for a job to own such a car?
I’m an attorney and my Lexus was $3500 in 2018.
Man the us car market…
Here in Australia you won’t find a Lexus worth driving for less than 6-10x that
Lawyer that first purchased an LX470 used with 119k miles back in 2010 that my mother still drives. Now in the market for a certified pre-owned LX570.
Not every Lexus is gonna be LC500 level $100k car . Plenty of people driving older lexus’s at an affordable price.
I’ll be honest and say I prefer the older cars. If I could just keep finding super clean low miles 90s cars I’d pay whatever premium. Not many gadgets and heavy solid cars. Loved SCs but finding a clean one now is getting really difficult.
At some point, you get diminishing returns on your investment. While Lexus/Toyota are built solid, it’s not immune to normal wear and tear. And that’s even assuming the previous owners took care of their cars. Even low mileage cars that in the 90s are literally 26+ years old now. You think all the rubber parts— gaskets, hoses, boots, window and door trims are still good?? Nope.
I did just that today! I found a 1998 GS400 with 47k miles and it's mint. And I did pay a premium. This will be my first Lexus but I'm sure it'll be worth it.
This is me in my ‘04 GX470 that I found for $4,000 About to hit 300K so she’s jus starting to break in lol
You can get a 2018 or 2019 ls500 around 80k(miles) between 40 and 50k so now "affordable" from a car that new is very close to 100k
Corvettes are actually great used cars. They drop in value really quickly so you can pick up one that’s in great shape for $20k
You’re not finding a 2017+ Corvette for 20k
Unfortunately I live in the north east and rust is gonna take out my is before it gets to 300k (currently at 216k) unless someone wants to invest way more money in it then I do. I’m a car enthusiast so everything would be fixed properly and it will probably be at least 10k for rust work and a full paint job. I’d rather just import an altezza for a couple grand more.
My budget is 20k or less. Lexus seems to be the best in terms of great reliability and performance. Am definitely considering a 2011-2014 LS 460 because it seems to be decently fast and very comfortable however if someone can find something faster/more comfortable in your experience or better worth my money please let me know.
Be super careful with an LS460. Its a very expensive car with expensive problems. You can pick up a cherry or you can pick up a lemon and its hard to tell the difference without a rock-solid inspection pre-purchase.
We’re actually having a conversation on another thread about your LX but what most people don’t know is that the LS 460 and LX 570 are far more similar than they are different. Same engine family. Transmission. Interior. Tech. Factory origin. There isn’t a single that the 460 does that the 570 doesn’t, and the 570 actually has a few extra pieces of tech that are “likely to break” if you like to use that line of argument.
Yet you state the LX is a “tank” and this is a bank breaker. Have you owned a 460? About as expensive to maintain as your LX.
I’ve owned both.
A GS350 (2013-2020) with the F-Sport or Luxury Packages is excellent, very reliable motor and decently quick.
I’d recommend this or an IS 300. Still the same V6 just tuned lower.
LS is a bit heavy and more costly to repair when xyz occurs
For $20k I wouldn’t be trying to buy an LS460
A $20k 2011 LS 460 - if indeed priced correctly at $20k - is highly likely to be well maintained and in great shape.
Beware the $7500 LS 460.
> A $20k 2011 LS 460 - if indeed priced correctly at $20k
....is like 180K miles
It can be maintained all day there will still be extremely expensive things that come up in comparison to the $20k spent on the car initially. I say go ES, GS, or IS for anything under like $35k unless you have $5k ready to drop on repairs
ES is the comfortable and safe choice, no premium gas and cheaper labor as far as parts, also perhaps softer ride. I’ve owned a GS and it’s amazing but you’ll need to spend more than 20k to get a great example and require higher maintenance cost, such as tire wear and regular maintenance. Personally I went from GS to GX then back to LS ,my maintenance isn’t cheap.
ES350
One major repair on an old LS460 could be over $4k.
LS460 is a flagship model with flagship maintenance costs:
Control arms: $4k Fuel injector replacement: $5k Window regulator: $1500 Rear shocks: $2k ABS control module: $4k
With such a small budget, you could buy a great ES350 and run it until 300k miles with minimal maintenance.
The car you should be looking at for that budget is an ES. GS or IS in that order.
GS350 f sport all day! I’ve got a 2015 it makes me smile everytime I drive it
.
Yes and my hot take is the LFA isn’t even in the top three of best looking Lexus.
What's your top 3? I have the lc500 and current IS 300/350/500 Fsport as my 2/3
Top two are same as you. Tossup for 3rd between RCF and current GX.
SC430, LS430, LX450
LFA has some really good angles and less good angles. It's gorgeous from the front and rear corners but I don't like it so much from the side or directly from the front.
LC , RCF, new GX ngl
Agreed.
Current IS500, Gx, and LC are their top 3 to me.
LFA might make 5th? (after final RCF)
Definitely. Nothing comes close to the masterpiece that is the LC.
the lc500 is a better design.
Yes. Although I am biased.
