TL;DR: For long drives, the best drivers are those that maximize distance and forgiveness. Current top recommendations include the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Callaway Paradigm, and Cobra LTD. Getting fitted for the right driver is crucial to ensure optimal performance based on your swing speed and style.
Choosing the Right Driver
When selecting a driver for long-distance driving, it's essential to consider factors such as clubhead speed, loft, and shaft type. Many users recommend getting fitted to find the perfect combination of these elements tailored to your swing 4:1. The latest models from major brands like TaylorMade, Callaway, and Cobra offer advanced technology that enhances both distance and accuracy. For instance, the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus allows for adjustable loft settings, which can help optimize launch conditions
1 (0:11).
Top Recommendations
TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus: This driver is praised for its distance capabilities and adjustability. It features a carbon face that enhances ball speed while allowing players to tweak loft settings for better launch angles 1 (0:11).
Callaway Paradigm: Known for its forgiving nature and excellent ball speed, this driver also offers adjustable weights to fine-tune performance. It's suitable for players looking to maximize distance without sacrificing control 1 (0:11).
Cobra LTD: Users have reported significant increases in ball speed with this model, making it a solid choice for those seeking extra distance. Its design focuses on low spin rates, which can help achieve longer drives 4:5.
Improving Your Swing Technique
While having the right equipment is vital, improving your swing technique can significantly impact your driving distance. Tips shared by experienced golfers emphasize the importance of maintaining a smooth takeaway and creating width in your swing 4 (0:19). Practicing drills that focus on body rotation rather than just arm movement can lead to more powerful and consistent swings.
Conclusion
Investing in a high-quality driver that suits your playing style and getting properly fitted can dramatically improve your long-distance driving game. Coupled with effective swing techniques, you can maximize your performance on the course. Whether you choose the TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus, Callaway Paradigm, or Cobra LTD, each offers unique benefits that cater to different player needs.
3-4 months in ish, did a five pack of lessons which focused on irons. Driver is my worst club by a lot. Club speed seems absurdly low, can't seem to fully get it over 200 yard. Any tips?
(Also I promise the Rapsodo came with my set and the shoes are an inside joke).
Need more data. Is that trajectory similar to your irons? How far do you hit your 7 iron? That clubhead speed is fairly low for driver. Driver needs height to go far, and when it comes to height, clubhead speed is king. If youve only trained on hitting straight irons, you haven’t probably worked on swinging like you mean it. 😅 That’s ok, you’ll get there. You might pick your favourite iron and record some good swings. Then compare videos of your driver swing. I’m betting your back swings will be quite different. Try to get your driver takeaway to look like your 7 iron or whatever. The plane of driver swing will be flatter owing to the length of the club, but should be comparable.
I forgot to click on the silly app thing when I switched from 7i to my hybrid, so the data for 7i is wonky. For 9i I have an 69 mph club speed and 83 yards carry. I was also just getting warmed up and those were my first hacks of the day. I'm curious about trying that again tomorrow.
Stupid question: is this a spot where older clubs actually play a factor? My driver is a 2010 Taylormade Burner Superfast 1.0. Would a newer club actually help those numbers?
Probably not. If your club speed is 80 and ball is 120 that’s exactly 1.50 smash factor, which is the limit. Clubs are built to cap out at 1.50
So you’re making good contact, you just need more club speed. Speed trainers can help with that, you just want to make sure you maintain that good contact and face control.
You’re making good contact though, efficient transfer of energy from club speed to ball speed, so keep at it.
I can’t hit my driver more than 10 feet.
I’m no pro, but it looks like you’re rushing the swing a little and bending the left arm. I would try to keep your elbows closer together, left arm straight and be slow and deliberate with your takeaway/back swing. This really helped me
I did a search of this sub but did not see anything so forgive me if this has already been covered.
I am interested in ideas for a road trip where the focus is on the driving itself. Not so much about what to see or where to go but routes or trips where most of the gun is in the driving itself So not hours on I-90 or hours in traffic or miles of uncrowded road but in terrible condition. I wont be driving a Ferrari (sadly) but will be a car that is reasonably fun to drive. No kids to worry about entertaining so longer stretches are fine.
Great scenery is a plus but not a requirement. Ideally the Western half of the U.S. but open to ideas.
I have driven most of 101 on the West coast already.
Thanks. Looking forward to input.
(Edited for clarity)
Route 12 in utah
I drove this like 20 years ago just because it seemed like the quickest route back to Colorado from Bryce Canyon on my paper map. It was such an incredible drive, I’ve spent the last 20 years telling people to take that road. An all time favorite.
funny because i took this route despite adding 1.5 hrs to my already 10 hr drive from zion to colorado... girlfriend was not pleased when the GPS updated lol
If you are starting in California, I would go the 50 across Nevada, then swing down and around to Route 12 in Utah. We did this last year and had a wonderful time.
This area, and much of southern Utah is absolutely amazing. I drove from Moab to Bryce canyon last summer and went 191 to I-70 and then UT-24 to UT-12. This drive is absolutely amazing. I would also suggest the drive from Calgary to Banff to Jasper in canada.
You can take US 12. It starts in Oregon and ends in Detroit. You'll go through mountains, open prairie, rolling farmland, and hit the Great Lakes.
I like the US50 suggestion too. That will go through DC and end in Ocean City, MD, and Utah is one of my favorite states to drive through. You would drive that section in the movies that just goes off into nothing.
The needles in South Dakota is a great winding road with tight 1 way tunnels that is a blast to drive.
That is definitely on the list. I drove some of it once on a rental car years ago so would live to revisit it. That entire area is gorgeous.
Thanks for the reminder!
The Million Dollar Highway in Colorado! Came upon it by surprise on a roadtrip a few years ago. Terrifying but thrilling. Wouldn't do it again in the fog & rain but would definitely do it again in better weather!
Yeah, lots of roads in the Appalachian mountains. Hell, you could drive the whole Blue ridge parkway and skyline drive
25 or 35 speed limit, passing zone fifty feet every ten miles.
Cannonball run.
I play a good bit of golf, 2-3 days a week when the weather cooperates in Pittsburgh. I’ve always been good off the tee with my driver but as of this year cannot seem to find many fairways or hit my driver consistently well. Does anyone have drills that have worked for them to significantly improve my driver game? I’m getting to the point where I think a lesson might be needed.
Don’t worry or think about it during a round.
I'm looking to upgrade my driver, and am looking for one that will get me the most distance. What is considered to be the best on the market right now, or what are some good options you guys would recommend? I drive the ball pretty far and was hoping to maximize my distance since my current driver is from 2003. Appreciate any recommendations!
Would highly recommend getting fitted for the right shaft, loft, etc, versus picking up a new driver off the rack (if that's what you meant).
If you fancy the rack (which is perfectly fine), I'd recommend the TM Sim2.
Definitely the HammerX. You can add up to 50 yards on your tee shot. It will totally change the way you play golf.
Not legal though, right?
Go find some YouTube videos if anyone is seriously considering it.
BOOM!!! POW!!! WHAM!!!
Cobra Ltd, super hot face. I saw good increase in ball speed
Will add radspeed to the mix because they can be had for $250ish
I would agree with the majority that are saying for pure ball speed / low spin, Cobra.
All the top of the line drivers are going to give you similar performance. I know it is the popular response but go get fitted and try different drivers and shafts to see what fits you best.
Looking for some recommendations for some good routes to drive for a fun afternoon with a few friends. Not looking for anything touristy, just some fun open roads.
I assume the good driving is in southern Ohio, but I'm unfamiliar with the area.
Thanks!
A fun one is 93S to 83S to 78W, stop at Big Muskie bucket.
Then 78E over to the river, 7N for about half a mile, then 556W to 145W to 800N.
This would take up most of the day, but some really fun roads with very little traffic out in the middle of nowhere.
My personal opinion is that the triple nickel is overrated and not all that enjoyable. I think 556 is much better.
the triple nickel route 555
This is tough to beat. A car magazine may or may not have used this as their test route at certain times. Mind the grass in some of the corners this time of year.
This looks perfect! What's the cop situation, is it pretty clear due to being so rural?
Probably won't be any law enforcement in the area. However, please watch out for motorcycles. That road is very popular in the motorcycle community.
No cops but there might be mud, gravel, motorcycles, or cows
Rout 555, the neighbor of the beast.
I’ll see myself out.
The area around Yellow Springs and Clifton Gorge is stunning.
Specifically drive south on corry street and take a left onto grinell road. Check out massies creek cemetery and Peterson's mound, then drive to charleton mill covered bridge and loop back to Jacoby road boat launch.
SR 78 east from 77 at Caldwell exit to SR 7 to the Ohio river head south on SR 7 to Marietta
Anything near Hocking Hills State Park will be good. Go during the off-season to avoid the tourist traffic.
I'm also a big fan of State Route 329 around the Athens area. It's really curvy, isolated, and will have only limited local traffic.
329 is good! Watch for horse and buggy though!
What is the best long range driver I can get for $30 or under?
If your asking I assume you are new. Valkyrie, undertaker, cd2 are highly recommended. Those are considered understable fairway drivers but you can easily get 400 from any of those. If you go faster/more stable you probably can't throw hard enough to get max distance
Take v as valkyrie is not understable or a fairway driver
They are all under $30. Aside from some special edition discs, they are all under $20. There's no real best, but just whats best for you. For a beginner I think a lighter weight (160-165 grams) Leopard3 is ideal.
It gets really frustrating when you realize what's best for you is not what's best for somebody else. Then you realize your best changes as your form changes and from factors outside your control like the weather.
Finally had a friend move on from 1-2 disc games to throwing a half dozen discs based on shot need. Literally dropped his scores from mid teens to single digits. So many personal bests this last two weeks!
It's like asking what the best car you can get for under 30K is.
Two Pro Destroyer’s
My driver is feeling pretty good but I’m lacking distance and club speed. I’m struggling to get my club speed over 100 mph and will only hit it around 225-250. Any tips on getting more distance or any other tips?
Lol slow down, slow is smooth, smooth is fast. The harder you pull down with your hands the harder it is to generate speed because you lose the width quicker
No, in my experience everyone thinks that their hometown/home country has the worst drivers. I've never heard anyone say the opposite.
Finland and all Finnish drivers.
This is the answer famous saying in racing "If you want to win hire a fin". The driving test takes two years and involves a lot of adverse conditions because of how their roads are.
German autobahns. Doing 160plus tends to concentrate the mind.
People who live in colder climates with long winters, harsh weather and bad roads are probably evolved to be good drivers thanks to natural selection
A friend of mine from Colombo, Sri Lanka says the drivers in the US are overall amazing because largely everyone attempts to follow traffic laws. He hates having to drive when he goes back home. So... maybe it's a perspective thing.
The one thing I will give Sri Lankan drivers is their understanding that the purpose of the horn is to proactively communicate, not reactively rage.
I missed a one-foot putt this week, so I guess it's time for a new driver. I'm an older high-handicapper and I get out to play or at least practice at least 3-4X a week. I've lost distance over the years but still average about 240 on my drives. Biggest problem is my aim - I struggle to keep it on the fairway. Definitely going to buy a new driver this week; what should I be looking for.
For a normal driver look at those labled as "MAX" those tend to be the most forgiving. You may want to try a high launch driver 12* or more and see if that may help you out.
Best to go for something forgiving and properly adjustable. Your swing speed won't match up to some of these low spin drivers they're recommending on here.
I would recommend the Titleist GT2 @ 10 or so degrees, it's forgiving, the shape is classic and the color is as well.
The adjustable hosel is probably the best in the industry. For what you're spending I'm sure your local dealer will offer a free fitting. I anticipate they'll match you up with something similar to what I just said.
I currently play a Qi10LS @ 10.5 but have a 110 swing speed BTW.
Titleist GT4 or a Taylormade QI35 LS
Yeah spending 600 on a driver if you can’t aim is the best bet 👍
$600?? Yeah, sure. If he’s cheap and goes with an off the rack shaft
A used Ping G400 MAX.
It really depends on how much you are willing to spend. If cost is not a problem, then I recommend trying out any of the "max" driver models from this year. I also recommend getting fitted or at least trying them out before purchasing so you see the difference between each driver before you decide which one you would like to purchase.
If you are not looking to spend a lot, then you can look online on eBay or Callaway Preowned. They have pretty good deals on used clubs.
I went to a driving range and used my friend Callaway Rogue Max D (stiff shaft), and started hitting it 255yds+ consistently straight. What’s a beginner driver that would help?
I went to Golf Galaxy with a good golfer and hit some balls there. Ended up with the Ping 425 Max. I didn't play golf but I was going all in and got decent clubs to start out with.
I did not start hitting 255 or straight though. I had to practice for a good 3+ months before I could hit the driver with any length. And it probably took me close to 2 years before I could get distance AND control.
Thats a pretty good way to start out with the sport.
I will definitely take a look at golf galaxy, appreciate the reply
I'd recommend a Callaway Rogue Max D with a stiff shaft
😂😂😂 good one I have looked at it on the pre-owed Callaway
Go get fitted for a driver and buy something used.
How does the fitting process work?
if you're a beginner and already hitting 255+ yards then get the same exact model your friend has
Shall consider, is 255 good? I’ve started about 3months ago and have a background in Quaterback mechanics
I feel like Im swinging 7.5/10 speed and can get about 250 total distance. Any more and I start to lose control and/or distance. Is there anything big standing out?
Swing harder, brah
Should I practice swinging full speed on the range, regardless of control? Is there anything I should keep in mind when it comes practicing this?
You need to train for speed. There are plenty of resources available and programs to improve club head speed. The stack system comes to mind or Sasho Mackenzie
It's worth practicing swinging faster with good contact and not worrying about ball flight. Bryson preaches this as one of his teaching points for speed training and despite what you may think about him personally - he knows a thing or two about building club / ball speed.
Yes… anything that requires physical strength needs to be pushed to the max to physically improve.
Golf swing is a bit different because technique and efficiency of metrics plays a big roll in ball flight but swinging faster is the only way to swing faster
You’ve heard too many people say slow is smooth smooth is fast
You’re right! I’ve been trying to get my drives under control a little too much
Club head speed
Actually quite smooth swing! You just need more ground force and speed. 93 mph on driver is "slow"
If someone was attacking you, im sure you can actually swing with waaaay more force than that. Distance comes from speed. Speed comes from power. Don't be afraid to swing harder.
But when I drive 93mph in a school zone it's considered fast....
Swing faster

Taylormade Qi35
Did a fitting for a driver after breaking my Ai Smoke driver.
Performs great, hit this further and straighter than my previous driver. Sounds so much better as well. Mis hits are still relatively straight and playable. Shaft is lighter than my last one, but still a stiff flex so it feels really good to swing.
19 handicap
I payed $600 because I’m dumb and really liked how I hit with this driver.
This is really helpful. I'm currently playing ai smoke max and can hit it relatively straight but my average drive is only 240 to 250. Have been contemplating whether to try a new driver to gain another 10 plus yards. Looks like I will. Thanks for the info
I gained about 15 yards from the switch. What shaft do you have I the Ai Smoke?
I’ve been golfing less than a year now. Right around the 100 range and started out with an old top flite senior flex set. I read a ton of reviews and was between the Ping G425 and Cobra. About 6 months in I got a gift card and bought a new Cobra LTDx Max on sale for around $230 usd. It is an absolute cheat code.
I know my swing has developed some but going from hitting the fairway every 5 or so tee offs to absolutely drilling it (for me) straight down the fairway was huge. Great confidence boost and it was well worth the upgrade.
Even when I miss hit off the toe or top it slightly it still carries at least 220-250. Super fun driver when I don’t have time to practice my swing every week. I’ve never hit a more expensive driver but I imagine for the price the Cobra is close to the best.
I love that club, I regret selling mine.
• What driver are you gaming right now? GT2, 9° on a Ventus Velocore TR 6X
• Why did you choose it? I was gaming an Aerojet with the same shaft, felt like I was starting to miss high/low on the face and wanted to test something that was more forgiving. Was initially looking at TSR2, and stumbled on a basically new GT2 head for a good deal.
• How’s it performing (distance, forgiveness, feel, sound)? Amazing. This thing flies and flies straight. Ive started hitting a draw off the tee after only being able to hit pull cuts or fades/slices. My only gripe was i felt it was sending the ball too high. Swapped down to the D1 setting and now I’m getting a little lower flight and a bit more distance. Forgiveness on off center hits feels good, I’m barely losing distance and it’s still very much in play.
Sounds amazing when you get it anywhere on the face and feels even better. It’s got this crisp crack to it when you bomb on the center • What’s your current handicap? Hovering around 15, but hopefully trending down.
• How much did you pay for it? $400 for the head only. Shaft already had but that I got for around $190.
Been golfing on and off for 15 years. Just recently picked it back up in march and needed to upgrade my driver as they were my sister’s before when she played in college. Went into a fitting on the week of 4th of july for holiday discounts on used clubs.
Came out the fitting with:
PING G430 Max 9 degree with a PING Tour Chrome 2.0 65X Shaft for $340
I get 260 carry, 275 rollout, very much a fairway finder. A 40 yard increase form a 10 year old driver!
I'm currently a 15 handicap and I went into the fitting with a goal of finding more fairways, not really about getting crazy yardages. I love my driver, I did struggle for about a month dealing with a pull slice that I had to over compensate for on the course, I ended up adding loft to 10 degree with the adjustable neck and now I hit buttery smooth straight or soft fades. Absolutely love it!
The Ping G430 is a very forgiving driver as many say but you do need the right shaft or degree to get full benefit out of it, and that goes for any driver on the market! so make sure you get fitted and maybe even go back again after a month of your fitting or experiment with the adjustable neck to see how your shots turn out.
Going to purchase a new Driver and looking for recommendations.
Golf Lessons
Obviously Verstappen this year.
My man!!
X gon give it to ya.
The one that fits you.
Your swing is the best driver work on it
What the title says… in your opinion, is the best driver to be released in the last 5 years. My Sim Max has 12* of loft and has too much spin since I’ve grown and increased my speed. Not crazy about most drivers on the market rn and am totally cool getting a lightly used club to replace my current. Any favorites?
What’s your club head speed, shafts can do some magic but if you’re swinging 110 on a 12 degree driver head, it’s just gonna spin more than less loft regardless of a low spin shaft in it
I’m hanging around 108-114 so in that range. Gonna start by delofting on the club and go from there
Yah you’re very much in the 9 degree driver at that speed
If I was in love with my sim max I’d just keep a look out for a 9 degree head and then sell the 12 when you get it, should wash out to be close enough cost and sale wise (you’d hope lol).
If I wasn’t in love with my sim max I’d suggest looking at g400-g425’s
I would keep the sim max and invest in a low spin shaft. Check out the Ventus velocore series. You can also dial the 12* to 10 depending on the shaft adapter you have.
Still hanging onto my taylormade m4. Might spray a couple left or right but pretty much never hit a terrible shot. Sweet spot on the face is massive
I bomb my sim max. Especially with my new shaft i just threw on it
I think it’s a great club… didn’t realize a shaft was more important than the loft on it. What’re you rocking on it now?
I w still got my taylormade M2, just put a new shaft on it and it may be from 2016 but I don’t hit anything else any better. You can find them second hand pretty cheap, even when they were brand new they had a lower price point and are known for being one of the longest drivers out there.
I play to get out of the house and take clients 8-10 times a year. My clubs are 20-25 years old from Dicks when I was a teenager.
My irons are fine and I hit them well. My drives suck and I slice hard. Am looking for a new driver to work on my swing.
Recommendations? Money's not the issue, but I don't need a $300 driver unless it's going to help my slice more than others.
What should I look into?
Edit: Going to get a Ping g425 sft. And a lesson, and see how it goes.
It won’t fix your slice. I used an old worn out driver until I fixed my slice then bought a new one.
It may be slightly more forgiving but you will still slice.
$300 on lessons would be a better use of $$ to fix your slice. New drivers are more forgiving in the sense that they go further and spin less with off-center strikes, but if your path is out-to-in with an open face, every driver on the market will still slice.
I should have been more clear.. my driver broke so I need to buy one either way.
But also looking into lesson.
Get a ping G4xx Max off second swing
Anything that starts with Ping G4xx and ends in Max….
I just bought a used Cobra F8 for about 125 bucks. Very forgiving club.
I bought my F9 for the same price, buying a used driver and getting lessons is the way to go. Just get something newer
Take a few lessons. More effective than a new driver.
Been a struggle with the driver but my 5 wood has been my go to. Bought a 3 wood as close to the same as my 5 wood as I could find. First round with it and I rolled it out almost 300 yards (probably carried 260).
I very rarely have my Arccos list a drive as a great shot. And I’ll have a few over 300 yards in a round and it won’t pick one. It’s always approach shots / “PGA Tour quality “ shots
Probably cuz just over 300 yard drives (which may be less once normalized for conditions like wind, altitude, etc) generally won’t put you above 50% of tour pros.
Often it will say 300 yards but once normalized it may be like 280.
Well said. I’ll be the first to say there’s down hills at play. But also cool to see what it ends up on certain holes that are all carry or into the wind
Where in the app does it show these at? I've seen it under the app features on the website but the other day I had 160ish 8 iron within 1 foot and I couldn't find anywhere that listed it as a great shot or pga quality shot or anything.
Not sure if it’s a feature I turned on somehow but it’s right on the activity screen. And don’t judge the 90. Those greens had 20% grass on them, the rest flat mud.
Good shot man, what's this app by the way?
Arccos
Did it roll out into the water hazard?
Legitimately 2’ from the edge.
You can start with the pickup golf - it's a Diesel. Best starter car in terms of pure practicality
Truck with camper and fuel tanker trailer or tanker bed and camper trailer. Can carry 3000L of diesel on you. Just need to carry a few jerrys of oil and water as the fuel attachment pours right into fuel tank. Make stops at every single location that could have diesel, collect barrels near truck, hoist them up and dump it into truck tank(can do for trailer too but you gotta carry fuel from trailer to truck if you go with camper attachment for truck)
That is My set up. So I agree. Only reason I stop is.to fill the tanker with diesel. Not that I need to I just want it full.
Depends. You wanna go fast or far?
yes
Fury is all around good just drinks more fuel

Mine is a Z Discraft Scorch. Not a crazy discraft fan but Z feels awesome and the scorch has easy turn with great glide, fantastic flight.
What are yours? Let me know!
Wraith! The distance driver of the people!
As someone who has like 330-350 on a good drive the wraith is perfect. I decided to simplify and take out all the non-wraith distance drivers this year, I got a beat in g star for flippy, beat in Nathan Queen for flat to slight flip up, and champion for overstable.
Yessir. Highly recommend a 145-150g champion wraith. I can push it to 350 with a nice flip up and strong finish.
I would like a DD equally torque resistant that would finish a little straighter not sure what that is yet…
A man of culture I see. I have a very similar wraith line up. A pro for understable shots, beat in star for distance sidearm, and halo star for overstable wraith shots.
The only other 11-13 speed driver I have is an Xcaliber. Great for scrambling and 15+ mph headwind shots as it is super predictable.
Ya gotta throw the wraith
Currently it’s Valkyrie and Wraith…. And Sidewinder
If you like the sidewinder have you tried the mamba?
I have… just far more understable. Not the same discs for my uses and shot shapes
Are you me?
I think the Grace is overlooked for sure. Flies like a neutral FD but longer!
Trail, I'm boring.
Because Wraith and Grace are very much alike .. If it's sidewinded ( left to right ) I throw Grace, it will fly 110m+ .. If it's right to left, or front to back - I throw Wraith ... If the wind is from behind, I throw the Fury.

Listen to movies. Try to plan your route by movie lengths. Take breaks between them.
Example: 6 hour drive = 2x LotR movies, with a pit stop between them.
I do this for all of my drives that are 2+ hours and it makes them go by so much quicker.
If you feel like you're getting tired, pull over at the next rest stop and take a nap. It beats ending up upside-down in a ditch.
Stop at every (or every other) rest stop - walk for a minute, stretch your legs. Does wonders for long drives and you're adding on minimal minutes.
EVs can be a hot button topic, but I stop every two-ish hours to charge. 15-20 minutes, and I have an excuse to use the restroom, get some caffeine, and move around.
Don’t
Take your pants off.
I want to know what you rely on for your drives if you can drive around 375-400ft. What’s your go to stable driver, under stable etc.
380-410 thrower here exclusively RHBH
Star Wraith, S Line DD3 and Halo Star Shryke are what I use in that slot normally DD3 being the most stable for straight to fade with the Halo Shryke being for flex shots and the wraith sitting in the middle. Will switch to a destroyer in a headwind. I have a very understable wave I use for turnovers since I have zero forehand.
Scorch, you can find a bunch of different plastics and stabilities and they go far as fuck.
The tooling on the inside of the rim of discraft drives make them go 12% further.
Or something, I don’t know
Scorch was too flippy for me plus not consistent in the same plastic. I wanna like it because of the rim but at the same time rather throw a Surge SS
My ESP Scorch magically ignores the wind. It's inexplicable.
Scorch gang! I absolutely love the TE swirl ESP runs. I have a beat in one that just loves to fly.
I just gave the Scorch a try forehanding(I'm not great throwing backhand, I'm worse at forehanding), but even with my lack of skills, I cleared the Mando on the hole I threw it each time, where its about 50/50 of me clearing it backhand, so I'm happy keeping it bagged.
Came here to say mamba. Its a nasty disc
Envy or Luna. Don’t wanna push it past 400 so gotta disc down. /s
Wow that's a lot of disc for 400'! I usually go berg or berg x. /s
Seriously though, I really want to see someone like AB huck a Berg X as far as possible. I know it won't happen though.
Cant stand mambas. I've tried to like them, but they are way too inconsistent for me to trust
Not a Champion Mamba though. Those flip almost the same as a Total Eclipse Vanish.
This may not be the place for this, but there isn’t a long driving sub that I found. I’ve hit on trackman 1 time and I hit three drives. My furthest ball was 358 with 199 ball speed. My driver that I used for that is just a stock Taylormade m4 that is 45.75 inches in length. I’m not sure what I need to do to get into long drive but I played baseball for my whole life and into college and I think I could do it for fun for a while. I’ve been on Krank website and stuff but I’m not sure if y’all have any ideas on what I should do? How much longer do you think the extra few inches will help? Like is it just a few yards longer? Or 10-20 yards?
A longer shaft only helps if you can find the center if the face and and you actually load the shaft properly.
A lot of the time the longer shafts don't translate into longer drives without having an optimized set up where you can take advantage of the theoretical additional distance a longer shaft offers and you practice enough to make consistently good contact with the longer club.
And some people will actually swing a longer shaft slower.
I have seen the principle of .5 inches in shaft lengths in irons being equal to 5 yards and 4* of loft equal to another 5 yards, hence you end up with 10 yards gapping between clubs as a rule of thumb.
If that principle applies to driver shafts an extra two inches you would expect to be seeing distance increases of roughly 20 yards assuming quality of strike remained constant
If you wear a flatcap you will drive it way further.
Also you need to yell like the hammer x guy
POWWWWW!
Get a 5 degree driver, hit up on the damn thing as much as possible, tee it insanely high, max out on USGA allowed length, and hit high nasty, 1/6 remotely straight bombs and you’re set
Edit: With a 5° head with low cg and a longer shaft, you could probably hit 210 ball speed and comfortably carry a ball 360ish +- 15 based on conditions
The thing with me is that I pretty much zone out while driving. I don’t know something would distract me and then boom my brain is in deep thinking mode, I would comeback for like 5 secs until another zone out begins
Edit: It was great reading everyone’s comments. Seems like most of you are great drivers which is great. I guess i will push myself to it someday or i will just use autopilot like the rest of us.
Yes. I can drive in a flow state or something... Down to the point that I could anticipate the turns of the people around me lol.
i’m careful when driving people, get reckless and crazy when driving alone
Yeah? That's not mutually exclusive. I basically drive on autopilot, it's like walking for me. Though I have my drivers licence for 15 years now so the experience helps
Our autopilot is insane.
I want to learn to control it 😭 can it do that for my hw pls
I'm a very good driver. I also love to drive. Got my license first try and has never had an accident or close to one and I haven't met one person who didn't seem relaxed and comfortable being driven by me, even at high speeds on motorways.
Has anyone had a substantial 50+yards gain in driver tip (other than speed training) that was a game changer for them? If so please share. I top out at 225-250yd
This represents approximately what you max out at with your given swing speed.

Interesting look at the Total distance optimizer segment of this chart. I can’t imagine wanting to a play a driver that runs out for 50 yards. You’d have to split the fairway and hope for a good bounce every time.
I gained roughly 8-10mph clubhead speed just learning how to properly rotate my body/release the club in sequence. It’s also all about hitting up on the ball
Building a more efficient swing that allows you to hit the center of the face more and have less compensations is the only way. Speed training is useless if you have an inefficient motion and probably harmful imo.
The less I try the further it goes it’s weird
We all have our own tempos and rhythm we swing with our best sequencing at. Sequencing = power. Some guys have mastered high tempo and they hit it the furthest
💯
You’re looking to gain 50+ driver yards with a single tip from Reddit? But aren’t looking to swing the club faster..?
Peak Reddit moment.
Did we forget to mention:
Buy a new Driver & the more expensive the further they hit um’
Can you help me become better at putting but without reading the greens?
Easiest way is to hit the sweet spot or improve your smash factor then look at your sequencing. If you hit a fade probably have too much spin. That can also detract from distance
That last level is near to impossible, very difficult
I'm replaying driver 2, and it's hard as fuck.
My dad is super into the classic Americana type stuff so for his 61st birthday I took him to see the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. The drive from Vegas isn't bad at all, and you get to see tons of joshua trees and mountains along the way.
I personally enjoyed Red Rock more though, it is stunning.
How could he not? Great gift. Everyone should see it once in their life
Awesome gift!!
Such a fun chonky bird photo 😂
good for you, and him..
Kept swiping to finally see the happy dad pic at the end. Surprise! 🐦⬛
Wiggler mii suit is great, the other two have nice item but the ranked cup coverage is like 2 circuits per character I think lol
The Wiggler Mii Suit is the only one considered good. Gold Koopa and Gold Dry Bones are bad coin box drivers, Metal Mario isnt that good, Toadette,Wario and Bowser could have their uses. Luigi Mechanic could of been good if he was added a lot earlier then during a one time event.
Wiggler Mii is the best there and will serve you well. Try to get the ? Block Mii from the ranked rewards if you can. Try to save up to buy gold wiggler during the Sundae tour.
Do you know if the sundae tour will be up next/up soon?
Sundae Tour is the tour after next.
The top 3 are, Luigi Mechanic is TBD.
Wiggler Mii is one of the best drivers in the entire game. The others range from outclassed to bad.
What’s your favorite distance driver, and why? Would love to try out some new discs and explore some new brands. I bag mostly Innova, but have a few Latitude 64 and Kastaplast discs that I love, so I want to check out some more!
Wraith - 2020 halo run if I could only have one
I have the regular wraith halo. But is the GG halo any different from that one?
GGs are typically domier and more OS, even though the initial halo wraith was also OS.
Started using the Tern recently and love it. It can be used for straight shots and turnovers, very versatile
Pro wraith
The next one. It is always the next one.
Ain't that the truth!
The truth is actually a midrange
Star wraith
Just lost mine in the swamp:(
Rookie mistake only having 1.
I have a somewhat new star wraith that is pretty stable at the moment. I'm hoping to beat in it a little more but I love it for straight shot with a reliable fade at the end.
Any advice or tips that are less common or hacks you came across for drives like these?
Better yet: plan in breaks. I wrecked a car because I drove too long. Wasn't even tired per se, but lost my edge from driving too long.
Kind of get a little mesmerized. There’s a stretch I used to drive home from my parents, only a three hour drive, there’s a half hour or so that’s really unremarkable at all, if it’s dark out, it’s just dark, and it’s just past halfway home. Some exits but just little towns you can’t see from the road. After that, I get on the next road, a much busier road, there’s a rest stop pretty quick, and I started to make it a habit to stop there, and after a while, I started just staying there about another full half hour just to not be driving, look at other things. Makes me tired just remembering that piece of road, so almost get in a trance.
Stop a lot. Especially at historical road markers.
As someone with Parkinson’s, thinking this way has completely changed my way of traveling. I was forced to do it every 3 hours or so, but man, it made the trips far better. I finish trips far more refreshed. Pushing yourself to the max for a trip is just not worth it
Guaranteed this helps. I've done cross country multiple times for work. Try and have drivers switch off and make stops.
Yeah, google the areas you're driving through and find cool spots to stop. It's how I found this gem.
That is incredible.
I did theater tours long ago, all across the U.S. We'd have to stop once every hour and a half for union breaks. At first it seemed like it'd be annoying, but the U.S. has some great roadside stops and markers. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
OP: have a great trip.
My dad was so obsessed with almost no stops on our drives and leaving early, like 4-5am on our regular vacation to California to visit family. All of this only resulted in us getting there less than an hour faster and all being exhausted only to have that extra hour to just sit around the family’s house.
When I drive with my kids we stop as much as we feel like with no rush, leave when is comfortable, often after 9 to avoid traffic, and the experience is just so much better.
I just did 12 hour drive over the last 4 days (6 there and back) and having some podcasts downloaded, rather than my typical Spotify playlists, worked wonders.
Adding: Beware the second wind. You might heed the advice above, stop, and suddenly feel reenergized and ready to drive more. Don’t fall for it.
I agree. I pull over and have a nap. 20 minutes makes a huge difference.
Pull over at a trucker gas station if REALLY sleepy and pay for a quick shower. Not kidding. Those showers are generally super high powered and take the sleep out of you for a couple of bucks.
It's a tip I picked up from a buddy and I've done it twice. It was great.
Good question!
It’s close, but i would have to say Baby Driver, in my opinion.
Baby driver...due to the hearing problem, has superior focus!!!
His whole thing only works if the getaway is timed perfectly to the song he is listening to
Plus Edgar Wright, the man is always thinking about what you're seeing AND hearing.
The opening scene in Baby Driver is really cool!
Drive
This is the way
I watched this movie for the first time years ago.. My gf did with me.. she did not know the way.. but I felt it.. this movie changed me.. it’s a magical spell of a flick ✨
Yes, he was the best
"You give me a time and place, I give you a five minute window. Anything happens in that five minutes and I'm yours. No matter what. Anything happens a minute either side of that, and you're on your own."
Best driver for long driving
Key Considerations for Long-Distance Driving:
Comfort: Look for a driver (or vehicle) with ergonomic seating and ample legroom to reduce fatigue during long trips. Adjustable seats and lumbar support are essential.
Fuel Efficiency: Choose a vehicle with good fuel economy to minimize stops for refueling. Hybrid or diesel options often provide better mileage.
Safety Features: Prioritize vehicles equipped with advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and collision warning systems for added peace of mind.
Technology and Connectivity: Ensure the vehicle has a reliable infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and smartphone integration to keep you entertained and on track.
Storage Space: Ample trunk space is important for long trips, especially if you're carrying luggage or gear. Consider vehicles with flexible storage solutions.
Recommendations:
Sedans: The Toyota Camry or Honda Accord are excellent choices for long drives due to their comfort, reliability, and fuel efficiency (up to 39 MPG highway).
SUVs: The Honda CR-V and Subaru Outback offer spacious interiors, good fuel economy, and advanced safety features, making them great for longer journeys.
Electric Vehicles: If you're considering an EV, the Tesla Model 3 provides a long range (up to 358 miles) and fast charging options, ideal for long-distance travel.
Ultimately, the best driver for long driving will depend on your specific needs, preferences, and budget. Test-driving a few options can help you find the perfect fit!
