TL;DR
Fiat 500
The Fiat 500, particularly the 2014 model, has been praised for its reliability. A user mentioned that their family member's 2014 Fiat 500 Sport has been the most reliable car they've owned, with over 100k miles and only requiring regular maintenance [3:2]. The automatic transmission in this model is made by Aisin, a company known for producing transmissions for Toyota, adding to its reliability credentials. For those who appreciate the Fiat 500's style but want improved performance, the 2018+ models are recommended due to better engine options
[3:6].
Fiat 124 Spider
The Fiat 124 Spider is another highly recommended model, especially since it's essentially a rebadged Mazda MX-5 Miata, known for its sporty handling and reliability [3:3]. This model combines Italian styling with Japanese engineering, making it a favorite among enthusiasts looking for a fun driving experience.
Fiat Stilo
Despite some negative perceptions of Fiats, the Fiat Stilo has received positive feedback from owners. Users have praised its handling, affordability, and reliability, although there are some concerns about specific components like the climate control unit [2:2]. Owners often express affection for the Stilo, highlighting its durability and enjoyable driving experience
[2:1].
Older Models
For fans of older Fiat models, the Panda from the 1980s is fondly remembered for its simplicity and fun driving experience [3:4]. The Fiats from the 1990s also have a reputation for being great cars, suggesting that older models might be worth considering for those interested in classic vehicles
[3:1].
Considerations Beyond the Discussions
When choosing the best Fiat car, consider factors such as your budget, intended use (daily driver vs. weekend fun), and availability in your region. If you're looking for a modern, reliable vehicle, the Fiat 500 or 124 Spider are excellent choices. For those interested in classic Fiats, exploring models from the 80s and 90s could provide a unique driving experience.
You joke but from a practical standpoint the multipla is a beautiful thing. Too bad it looks super silly.
Hi guys,
Just wanted to share my amazing car. An appreciation post if you will
Fiat Stilo 1.6 16v 2003
So many people tell me that I should just get rid of it just because it's a Fiat, always saying that it's trash and yet my Stilo still goes strong!
It's a really good car in terms of handling. It's pretty cheap and reliable, not talking about the climate control unit though if you have a dual zone automatic AC - then the flaps inside the dashboard can become a headache. But other than that Stilo is awesome 😁 You should polish the headlights though, it'll make it look much better 😛
Haha, got some new headlights already 🤭
oh god i love stilos i have a manual 1.8 8v
Great car
I had a Stilo. People are talking nonsense. All the decent cars I’ve owned have been Fiat. Enjoy it.
I dig the style, and am no stranger to... the questionably selective maintenance and reliability of Italian things. But I’ve heard that modern Fiats are pretty garbage, especially ones 2015 and older... are there any models or years that are decent?
Family member has a 2014 Fiat 500 sport. It's been the most reliable car he's had. Could have been just a good one but it's been a great car and it has over 100k miles on it and all its needed is regular maintenance. The automatic transmission is a aisan which is made by Toyota as well.
Fiat 124 Spider, it's a rebadged Mazda.
You didn't even tell us what country you are from, how is anyone supposed to know what Fiat models are even available to you?
Ah, you’re right! I’m living in the US, but I’ve lived in Italy for a spell- my work car was an ‘84 Panda, and I LOVED that piece of junk. So fun.
If you liked the Panda you might also like the 2018+ Fiat 500 (older model years have a worse engine). Or, from another brand, a 2016+ Chevrolet Spark (avoid older model) with a manual transmission. Or a Scion iQ.
Drove a 2014 500L for 150K: trans covered under warranty at 50K, no issues after that...
no
The Fiats from 90's were pretty great.
Get the Alfa but remember NOT to take care of it and eventually let it rot in a random area of your city.
Thing with Alfas is that they come with generational karma attached to them. Meaning that if it's a pristine taken care of clean title beauty with low mileage and top speck, it'll get squished against the curb by a random drunk driver when parked at designated spot.
Ask me how I know.
I miss her sometimes.
Sorry for your loss
As someone who just bought an incredibly clean (but broken) spider, I am now terrified.
If you think waiting for a tow truck is fun, either of them will do.
I guess the Lada has the best heating so it should keep me warm while waiting
There you go.
you are incorrect for number 4 (scotty kilmer said so)
Dat Lada bro, hot daym
You don't need apartment when you have this
Get the Saab especially if turbo. Anyone who has driven one would tell you the same
First off, best fiat out there in my opinion. These are my favorite drag cars of all time had to make sure that i built one in 1/25!
Love it!
thanks! drag cars are easily my favorite type of build
incredible! I also love that the rear door has a proper-ish door handle
Yes, i hate it so much i love it, it's so ugly it's actually kinda good
Majestic.
cybertruck if it was good
TANKO
Italians will get the reference. For anyone else, check out “Serenissimi TANKO” on google for some proper Italian insane modern history
The almighty Dacia Sandero. But some pictures are just too sexy to be posted here.
Its all over my screen
Is that Hammond behind the wheel???
No its Hammondescu
GOOD NEWS
THE DACIA 500 "Lăstun"
A car so good it was deemed illegal by the consumer protection agency.
Pantone would kill for that yellow.
I simply can’t believe how fun this car has been in the few short weeks of owner ship. I am a tennis pro for work and this is parked at the beach tennis club where I’m employed . It’s the most fun I’ve ever had driving a car. Cars I’ve owned in the past are . Miata 1990 red with black interior , Miata black , tan interior 1999, bmw 330 i convertible 1996 black and tan.. Miata 2002 NB black and tan . I loved all of them but I’ve never up until now ever been asked , dude is that a Ferrari ? I laugh and say no it’s a 20,000 used 2018 white car .. no … but thanks for thinking that possibly ! It’s not just that …it’s the way it drives . It gears different. Waaaaay different than any car I’ve owned it gets up to high rpm’s before it shifts . Like way higher than I’ve gone to switch gears so it’s very spirited . Man it’s so fun . I hope I don’t ever hit anything or anything hopefully never hits me as I know little door dings total these babies .. thank you each of you who gave me the confidence to purchase such a fun car This fiat blows all my other cars out of the water.. the aesthetic. The way it handles . The way folks look at you .. it’s a thing man .. and it’s neat .
Nice!
Very nice! I have a black Lusso. So much fun
Since this is an important day for the community i decided to post about my car: 2005 FIAT Punto (188) 1.3 MultiJet (ignore the bumper), nothing special about it but i love it and it's a tank, after 18 years and 293.431 km never gave up or had any issue and still does its job very good. Thank you for reading and tell me about your FIAT in the comments!
2011 Punto Evo 1.4 8V. 65500km on the clock, not the fastest car but gets the job done. I love the paint, it's Nero Rubacuori, in low light it looks black but in the sun in turns dark purple, so it changes when you walk around the car.
I would love owning that Punto, way better engine than the 1.2 16v and the 0.9 TwinAir!
This June my Seicento Sporting (300.000+ kilometers) turned 25 years old and my Cinquecento 899 turned 31. Happy Birthday Fiat.
I've never seen in my entire life a Seicento Sporting with that mileage 😲 nice cars btw!
2016 NA 500 Abarth, 65000 miles. MT, Beats audio, sunroof, Alfa 4c coil packs, Bosch sparkplugs, K+N air filter, short shifter soon. Oh ya it's yellow!
Damn nice project car!
Because it is not actually a Fiat, but an Alfa Romeodussy
Soupra move aside. This car is sex 🥵🥵🤌
No way you're actively hating on the Fiat 90's lineup Considering the fiat Ulissey
That's because it comes from the same Fiat/PSA collaboration. If you want to praise a true Fiat it should be the Panda.
French car better
Because is not a Fiat.
Is a Citroen C25
I find it incredibly amusing how they just turned the front fascia upside down on this one, the designer probably went "phew... That was difficult, but it's a job well done".
It absolutely fucking was. I didn't know they had their version of this van tho. That's cool !
EDIT : Just found out they sold it as a Talbot for the British market. We should have had this in France. It's unfair.
Some absolute legend has a Talbot Express motorhome on black plates that I sometimes see pottering around my town in Scotland!
I've been exposed to the sight of Talbotussy
