What Redditors are Saying

Best Laser Hair Removal Clinics

TL;DR

  • Kingston Laser and Cosmetic Clinic praised for effective results [2:1]
  • Bare Body Laser in Melbourne uses DEKA machine for minimal pain [1:3]
  • Clear Skin Clinics offer flexibility with multiple locations [1:4]

Clinic Recommendations

Several clinics have been recommended across different discussions. Kingston Laser and Cosmetic Clinic has received positive feedback for its effectiveness and professional service [2:1][2:2]. Bare Body Laser in Melbourne is noted for using the DEKA machine, which provides significant results with minimal pain [1:3]. Clear Skin Clinics are praised for their professionalism and ease of booking appointments across various branches [1:4].

Considerations for Different Skin Types

For individuals with brown skin and dark hair, the laser clinic at West Quay in Southampton was recommended, as they conduct a skin study to ensure suitability for treatment [5:1][5:2]. It's important to note that darker skin may not respond as well to laser treatments, and alternatives like electrolysis might be worth considering [5:3].

Pricing and Packages

Many users suggest purchasing packages to save money on laser hair removal treatments [2:3][2:6]. Dermalines offers consultations before determining the cost based on treatment areas, with prices mentioned for facial treatments [4:1]. The Asthetik was noted for being cost-effective, though specific pricing details were not provided [3:2].

Location-Specific Options

In addition to Kingston and Melbourne, other locations mentioned include Glow and Studio on Queen, which have received positive reviews [2:4]. Silk Laser was also recommended by one user [1:5]. For those in Southampton, the Ageas Bowl clinic was suggested as another option [5:6].

General Advice

When choosing a clinic, consider factors such as the technology used, staff training, and customer reviews. It may also be beneficial to visit multiple clinics to compare services and prices. Additionally, some clinics offer sales throughout the year, providing opportunities to save on treatments [1:4].

This time of year lots have sales, but it's overwhelming. Who do you recommend?

I typically just pick based on the cheapest/best deal. I’ve been going to Results Laser Clinics for a while and depending on the location they can be quite good! I have had issues with some locations cancelling my appointments and it being hard to reschedule as they book out quite far in advance.

If you are located in Melbourne, Bare Body Laser is fantastic and one of the only places in VIC (maybe Aus too, if I remember correctly) that uses the DEKA again machine - minimal pain and significant results in short amount of time

Emergency-Face927 · 8 months ago

clear skin clinics are all over the place, always quick and clean and professional and I’ve never struggled to find an appointment because you can book in at any of the branches once you’ve bought your package.

Note they do half off sales throughout the year not just January.

Following this - have been using laser clinics Australia for years but the results can be hit and miss. I.e missing patches, poorly trained staff in some locations. Watching this to see if there are any other good reputable places

Perhaps it depends on the location? I've been going to them for years and have only had positive experiences.

Looking for recommendations on the best places to get laser hair removal. I was originally looking at Glow due to the price and reviews but I’ve had a few people say not to go there so now I’m unsure

I'm a trans woman - I say that with the caveat that I want the hair on my face burnt to a crisp. Kingston Laser and Cosmetic Clinic has been amazing. I have been getting noticeable improvements after each session and everyone is so incredibly nice. I'm super happy with service. Theyre pricy but IMO they actually work to help you get the stuff gone.

Taylor is incredible.

Hey, I've been going to dermalines for laser . It's 300 for the dr consultation which is a must for the laser. Then depending on the areas you want done, they'll let you know the charges. I went for upper lip and face, was 2500 for the session

I went to my dermatologist office. I trust them greatly and they have amazing reviews. It was probably more expensive but i decided if i was going to shill the money, i want it to be worth it. I would definitely read reviews of places around you! Treatments like laser are something that people won’t shy away about good and bad experiences. If you have a good experience, you wanna tell everyone bc it really can be life changing and same if you had a bad one.

ETA: the payment was structured per visit. They recommend 6 to start but you book as you go And they charged by the area coverage. I did Brazilian (which i recommend if you want bikini) and large areas were $400 (PNW) and medium areas were $200. My bikini area was pretty smooth after about 4-6 treatments (about 6 weeks in between each visit) and i did a total of 10 treatments for everything to be gone. After 6 visits they bumped my price down to a “touch-up” which i think was $200. I’d say there was no downtime (if you get waxed it’s pretty similar to that where you are a little sore and should avoid working out for 24 hours). If you have additional questions lmk!

Laser hair removal is a medical aesthetics treatment. First start with a simple search "laser hair removal" online. Read the reviews. Read both good ones and bad ones. Make a short-list of clinics that seem to have great genuine reviews. Look for what people say about results, safety, care, customer service and the technology. We have close to 400 five-star reviews and we focus on results, safety, and satisfaction of clients. Once you have selected your list of clinics; contact them and go for a consultation. See if they take their time to do a medical assessment / questionnaire to ensure the treatment is safe for you. See if they explain the treatment properly to you. A great laser in right hands can provide safe treatments with great results. On the wrong hands can cause burns and bad results. Make a decision based on these factors as well as cost.

Be very careful treating a male face. It’s common to get patchy results which will force you into more treatments and likely electrolysis to get the desired result and to look natural.

Take a look at FAQs at hairtell.com.

Look up photos of patchy results so you understand what I mean. Less hair is great but most people prefer it’s an even reduction vs weird looking patches that look unnatural

I’ve done BBL and it was alright. Helped, but not world changing. I’ve had one session of V-Beam that did more than 4 sessions of BBL, second session scheduled for this week so I can’t speak for long term results yet.

Laser hair removal is what I’d rank “best” right now.

The clinic uses an Aerolase laser. I have pretty light but easily tanned skin and did Brazilian and underarms with excellent results. My leg hair is too sparse and light for laser hair removal to be effective so I didn’t even bother.

I’ve done fraxel and ipl. Fraxel definitely worked to even out all hyperpigmentation and reduce fine lines but the recovery took a full week and had sandpapery texture sunburn.

I absolutely love the results of ipl, and the recovery is so quick basically good to go the next day. Skin is smooth, even, reduces redness, glowy. My mil actually looking at old pics and said my skin looks better/fresher now than when I was in college 10 yrs ago lol!

23 upvotes on reddit
Sminkys · 2 years ago

May I ask if you had your undereye area treated with IPL, or do they have to avoid that area because it's too delicate? I'm quite interested in trying it but want something that can target fine lines under eyes.

5 upvotes on reddit
violet203 · 2 years ago

Yes I was able to have under eyes treated, but tbh that area does hurt the most since it’s so sensitive. Not unbearable but uncomfortable. I had some broken capillaries in my under eye area that ipl completely fixed.

3 upvotes on reddit
violet203 · 1 year ago

Np! Fraxel def lasted longer, maybe 9-12 months with lots of sunscreen/skincare. IPL I did a few sessions close together 3 or 4, the broken capillaries that were fixed didn’t noticeably reappear, but I do have some redness/rosacea that returned after ~6 months. I would consider IPL as annual or even biannual maintenance, it is not overly invasive, whereas Fraxel was much more powerful but tough recovery.

2 upvotes on reddit
nutelladiet · 2 years ago

My main concerns are melasma and rosacea. I had Clear and Brilliant, Picosure and Excel V. Excel V was by far the best one with more pronounced results. It got rid of my spider veins immediately, my baseline redness was also diminished with just one session.

Philips Lumea. They have diffrent heads, so it fit to diffrent body part, is quick in interval and skin sensors. I saw results after the first use, and even though i didn't use it for nearly 2 years due to medication, my hair on the legs especially haven't come back.

BTW, here's the Amazon List of Laser Hair Removal Devices Recommended by other Reddit Members here.

1 upvotes on reddit
C
caffeinefree · 2 years ago

Personally I would recommend investing in professional laser hair removal. I used the Tria at home, followed instructions, used it regularly for a few months and saw basically zero impact to my hair growth.

My first professional treatment killed 40% of my hair. It's diminishing returns after that, basically every treatment killed 40% more of what remained, but after 10 treatments I don't really have to shave unless I want to (I still get baby blonde hairs that the laser wasn't able to "see"). I also have a lifetime guarantee with my package, which means if I need touchups in the future it's only about $30.

10 hours of my life and I'm pretty much hairless from the waist now. It's a major time saver over the home devices and it works.

8 upvotes on reddit
scrotesgonnascrote · 2 years ago

I’m going to agree with this, I never bothered with buying home laser devices because of the fact that they don’t get rid of their hair entirely. It’s definitely more expensive than the device, but I think it’s worth it for rarely having to go back (if ever once treatments are done) and not having to dispose of a device after.

The place where I get my laser has a lifetime guarantee also, though I’m jealous of your $30 rate.

I have this and would say it removed 80% underarm, 60% leg, and 40% bikini. It definitely did something but was not 100%. And it did require a lot of time put in cumulatively.

4 upvotes on reddit

Candelent · 2 years ago

Fair comment, but IPL generally isn’t going to permanently remove hair, you have to use it once a month or so to maintain results. I have very pale skin and light brown hair, and I would say that my legs remain completely smooth for at least a month at a time, then I get some slow growth so I have and redo do the IPL. Bikini line starts to come back a little faster, but still weeks without shaving.

Yes, it does require a lot of time. I do it in front of the TV. I’d much rather sit in front of the TV and zap my legs once a month or so than shave legs and bikini line 2-3x per week. But, yes, you are supposed to do this weekly for the first 12 weeks (I believe). I wasn’t super consistent those first 12 weeks, but I am very happy with my results.

It’s less about the name of the place and more about what type of machine they use and experience level of the person is doing your treatments. Please provide more information on skin type, areas, hair type etc and we can try to help.

2 upvotes on reddit
[deleted] · 4 years ago

Well I am not sure about the exact type of machine they use. I know it was a newer one and the pain was not bad. The people doing the laser hair treatments there seem to have experience. I just feel like the machines at med spa's are too weak to get rid of hair completely and I should look else where.

My skin type is... normal? I don't know how else to describe it. It's a little on the drier side but not sensitive. I am tan. Middle eastern decent.

Hair type is dark.

1 upvotes on reddit
S
smartcooki · 4 years ago

You need to look up your skin type on the Fitzpatrick scale. You’re likely at least a IV which means you need a diode or a Yag laser. You should also only treat hair that’s coarse as laser doesn’t really work on finer growth.

It’s best to call clinics to find out the exact laser type and name of the machine before even considering them.

Powerful treatments are determined by settings.

AI Answer

🤖

best laser hair removal clinics

Key Considerations for Choosing a Laser Hair Removal Clinic:

  1. Certification and Experience: Ensure the clinic is staffed by certified professionals with experience in laser hair removal. Look for credentials such as a licensed dermatologist or trained laser technician.

  2. Technology Used: Inquire about the type of laser technology the clinic uses. FDA-approved lasers like the Alexandrite, Diode, or Nd:YAG are commonly used and effective for various skin types.

  3. Consultation Process: A reputable clinic should offer a thorough consultation to assess your skin type, hair color, and treatment goals. This helps in tailoring the treatment plan to your needs.

  4. Safety and Hygiene Standards: Check if the clinic follows strict hygiene protocols and safety measures to minimize risks of side effects or complications.

  5. Reviews and Testimonials: Look for reviews from previous clients to gauge their experiences. High satisfaction rates and positive testimonials can indicate a reliable clinic.

  6. Cost and Packages: Compare pricing and inquire about package deals. While cost shouldn't be the only factor, it's important to find a clinic that offers good value for the services provided.

Recommendation: Research local clinics and consider scheduling consultations at a few to compare their offerings. Popular chains like Ideal Image and LaserAway often have good reputations, but local clinics may also provide excellent services. Always prioritize safety and results over price alone.
