TL;DR Opt for non-comedogenic makeup products, avoid ingredients like glycerin, and consider brands like Clinique, Cover FX, and It Cosmetics.
Non-Comedogenic Makeup
When selecting makeup for acne-prone skin, it's essential to choose non-comedogenic products that won't clog pores. Brands such as Clinique offer lines specifically designed for acne-prone skin, like the "Clinique Acne Solutions" foundation, which contains salicylic acid to help clear dead skin cells [1:1]. However, be cautious if you're using other topical treatments, as combining them might irritate your skin
[1:2].
Recommended Brands and Products
Several users have recommended specific brands and products that work well for acne-prone skin. Cover FX and Tarte Amazonian Clay are praised for not causing breakouts [1:4]. It Cosmetics CC Cream is another popular choice for daily use, as it doesn't worsen acne
[1:5]. For those looking for mineral options, Glo Skin Beauty offers anti-inflammatory powder foundations that provide coverage without accentuating fine lines
[1:6].
Avoid Certain Ingredients
It's advisable to avoid makeup products containing glycerin or ethylhexylglycerin, as these ingredients can feed acne and exacerbate breakouts [1:8]. Instead, look for products free from alcohol, fragrances, and other irritating components
[3:1].
Makeup Techniques for Acne Coverage
For effective acne coverage, consider using color correctors to neutralize redness or purple tones before applying foundation and concealer [2:2]. Hydrated skin heals better, so ensure your skincare routine includes water-based hydrating products while avoiding oils
[2:2]. Keeping brushes and sponges clean is crucial to prevent further irritation and breakouts
[2:4].
Additional Recommendations
Some users have found success with brands like BiotechBeauty, which incorporate skincare into their makeup products [3:2]. For a natural and glowy base, Too Faced Born This Way foundation offers medium to full coverage and is oil-free, making it suitable for acne-prone skin
[4:1]. For oily skin, NARS light reflecting foundation and Fenty Beauty Eaze Drops are recommended, along with Huda Beauty setting powder for longevity
[5:1].
What types of makeup are best for acne prone skin? My acne is much more controlled than before since I started using topical medication (Adapalene) but I want to make sure I get makeup that doesn’t aggravate my acne. Thanks in advance!
Clinique?
I don’t think I’ve tried any of their makeup before. I’ll give it a go! Thanks for the help! (helped)
They have an acne line with acne products in it for foundation but if you’re already using topicals after removing makeup I don’t recommend it. I got Even Better refresh and I love it. They have different formulas based on what finish and how much coverage you want. They can give you free samples for foundations too at Macy’s idk how that’ll work right now with covid. I recommend it. Everything else broke me out. I never tried bare minerals but my friend uses their powder (she has no acne) and her skin looks bomb.
I noticed drug store, MAC Makeup, Lancôme, Estée Lauder all broke me out.
Underneath my makeup, I wear a layer of sunscreen I’ve been using Eucerin moisturizer with an SPF. I might be making a change to ELTA MD sunscreen for acne prone skin.
ELTA MD also has a tinted sunscreen available for acne prone skin.
*Clinique also does gifts at certain times with a makeup bag, mascara, lipstick, makeup remover etc. so look out for that. There are different minimum purchase requirements like $25 or $50. I usually buy my Clinique from Macy’s because of their easy return policy and gift options (most are open now!)
If I were you I’d ask for different samples before purchasing and just say you’re unsure how your skin will react and want to test out which finish and coverage you want. They’re pretty buildable foundations. They also have a dewy one if that’s up your alley. I also you dermablend underneath Clinique but after my sunscreen if I have a really bad breakout it helps a lot with coverage and I don’t think it breaks me out but everyone’s different.
That’s sold at Macy’s as well. I use their cover cream. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions!
As someone who breaks out from nearly everything, i’ve found that the It Cosmetice CC Cream is amazing for daily use because it doesn’t worsen my acne (it doesn’t treat it either though) (:
If only makeup that also treated acne existed, LOL. But thank you! I’ll try it out sometime :) (helped)
Clinique has a line called “Clinique Acne Solutions.” It’s a liquid foundation. The only thing is if you’re using other topicals the night before or face washes etc, it can cause an overload on your skin. I experienced burning but I didn’t for awhile. if you’re not going wild with the face acne creams or topicals it shouldn’t bother you. It has salicylic acid to help clear dead skin cells that can contribute to clogged pores. It does help, but again, it just depends what you’re using the night before.
Cover FX is incredible. For less coverage, tarte Amazonian clay also doesn’t break me out. (I use both depending on season/situation).
Cool! Thank you for your recommendations lol, I’m a total makeup noob (helped)
The best foundation I have ever used. And it’s anti inflammatory! Light or full coverage. I use the powder mineral foundation. In my 40's and it doesn’t accentuate fine lines.
Sounds great! Thank you for the link. I will give it a try :) (helped)
Avoid products with Glycerin or Ethylhexylglycerin in them. They are basically sugar and sugar is going to feed acne and make it worse.
Ooh, okay. Thank you!! (helped)
Two things color correct and texture
If your acne is red get a green color corrector if it more purple get orange. I will sometimes layer the two in different sections of one big pimple. Then top as usual with foundation and concealer
For texture. Scabs and dry flaky skin are your enemies so no picking, use pimples patches and make sure your skin routine isn’t drying you out too much. Hydrated skin heals better so try to make sure you are using water based hydrating skin care but if you are acne prone definitely avoid oils.
Lastly make sure your products work well together. Don’t use a water based primer and an oil based foundation that will separate
Also, setting spray and setting powder
thank u so much!!
I would say if your skin is very acne prone and you don’t want to emphasize the texture skip out on any contouring darker colors applied to the skin will only emphasize spots and texture , try to make sure your skin is properly moisturized so there’s not flakes that can come around when you are using acne products to fight off existing acne and stick with lighter layers when building product up such as foundation and concealer personally I would look for satin or dewy finishs on these items because they tend to blur skin as opposed to matte which can cling to dry patches and texture I would also suggest a cream or liquid blush as opposed to a typically powder I’d like to suggest a few products for priming the skin the La Roche Posay cica balm , for concealer a cream based concealer will help the most to cover and blur imperfections I love and swear by the covergirl aqua smooths concealer that’s a twist up cream apply it to your problem areas and use the blot/tap method for a great blend with a beauty blender or sponge and for powder I love a light dusting of the L’Oréal hydra perfect powder you want to make sure you set your makeup but don’t go over board with the powder it can cause quick cake face if you do anyways I hope This helps I have suffered from acne in the past so I can understand the struggle of using makeup to cover but not emphasize
thank u sm, this is rly helpful! :)
This is going to be long, but I spent years figuring out my perfect system, so I’ve got lots of advice! Here’s what I do when I’m breaking out:
Wash my face and apply moisturizer and sunscreen, then wait about 15 minutes for those to absorb. If I’ve done the forbidden thing and popped a zit (nobody’s perfect) I apply a little of the Hero Cosmetics Rescue Balm to it after moisturizing and pat it in. This stuff is magic at instantly calming redness and stopping oozing (gross, sorry 😂) without drying out the area.
Apply primer. Avoid super mattifying ones if you’ve got flaky blemishes.
Apply a thin layer of foundation with a damp beauty blender. The Real Techniques and Eco Tools ones are my favorites. Squeeze it under running water until it’s fully soaked, then squeeze out as much as you can a few times. Then squeeze it again in a wash cloth or paper towel so it’s just barely damp. This will give you a very natural looking, thin layer of foundation. If it looks like you’re removing the product you just applies as you pat to blend it out, your sponge is too wet.
Choose a concealer that matches your foundation exactly. If you don’t have a perfect match, it’s better for it to be a touch darker rather than lighter if you’re applying it to raised blemishes. A game changer for me was realizing I could mix different concealers together to get the perfect match/ formula. I’ll apply a dot of each on my middle fingertip and then rub my two middle fingers together to mix them before patting it on the spots where I need it. Keep in mind whether the concealers oxidize (get darker after a few minutes on the skin) to choose the right shade. Let me know if you need concealer recommendations. I’ve tried soo many!
The most important part: This is for acne that is still a noticeable color after applying foundation. Work in small areas, especially with a fast-drying concealer (looking at you, Elf Camo). Pat a very small amount directly on a blemish. Then take a small brush with a flat top and densely packed bristles. My holy grail is the Sonia Kashuk Proffesional Buffing Concealer Brush No. 151. Pat the brush on the dot of concealer to pick up excess product and then start buffing it out around the blemish with little patting and quick swiping motions. Use a light hand, and make sure to blend the concealer into a surrounding area at least the size of a nickel, the layer of product getting thinner as you go out. This will give the most natural appearance. Applying concealer only on a zit itself can make it stand out more. You want the edges of your concealer to be indistinguishable from your foundation.
Less is more, so use only one tiny dot of additional product at a time to get more coverage. If you can’t get the concealer to stay on the zit itself, try swiping (not patting) the applicator wand directly over the spot once so there’s product completely covering it. Then don’t touch that spot directly again, just blend out the edges as much as possible.
Finally, finish with setting powder and setting spray. I use the flat side of my beauty blender (where there isn’t foundation) to apply powder. Pat it on without swiping so you don’t disturb your carefully applied foundation and concealer. If you get too much powder on your sponge at first, pat it once or twice on your wrist to remove excess product. My favorite setting spray is the Urban Decay All Nighter. I like the original formula, or the glowy one if I don’t want to be too matte. Secret tip: if you’re going to be wearing a mask, spray it with setting spray and fan it dry before putting it on to keep your makeup from rubbing off on it!
Let me know if you have any questions!
thank u!! this was so helpful! i’d love a contour recommendation if u’d want to :) & ty for the mask tip too, i’ll def be using that bcs i always get makeup on it haha
Oh, and make sure to keep anything that will be touching your face super clean! This made the biggest difference for my acne-prone skin. I got a big pack of wash clothes and some extra pillow cases, and I switch them out pretty much daily. I wash my sponges every time I use them and my face brushes at least every few days. Baby shampoo works pretty well and is cheap! I have multiples of my go-to brushes so I can switch them out while the others are drying. Masks too, use a clean one every day if possible.
So happy I could help!
What’s your skin tone and undertone? I don’t do too much contouring since I have a pretty angular face already. But for a subtle look I actually use a little of the Hoolah Lite Bronzer. I have fair-light skin with neutral olive undertones. Hoolah Lite is perfect for me because it’s truly neutral (rare for a bronzer) and not too dark. It’s also matte, which is good because shimmer is the enemy of textured skin.
You can also get a powder foundation in a shade or two darker than your skin tone and use it as contour! Looks very natural and gives you more shade options.
Makeup for acne-prone skin?
Hello y'all! I (35F) have historically had constant breakouts, cystic acne, etc. Recently, I've tweaked my routine and finally am seeing some improvements, so not seeking skincare cleansing tips ATM.
My question to you all lovely people is, have you found any makeup concealer, foundation, primer, etc. that doesn't cause breakouts?
I'm getting married next year (yay!) and would love to find a light makeup that would help cover some acne scars but not break me out. I'm planning to do my own makeup, and would like time to practice.
If anyone has any tips, I'd appreciate it! Bare minerals, Neutrogena clear skin makeup (forget exact name), various BB creams, etc. have all been tried previously and resulted in breakouts.
YES! I recently found this brand called BiotechBeauty they literally have exactly what you’re looking for. I’ve seen their makeup and it’s made with 83% skincare my friend has tried it and she says she absolutely loves it and switched out her normal makeup for this brand
Oh neat! I'll check it out! Thanks so much!

First of all, congratulations on your engagement.
I was in Germany recently and found a brand that makes make-up for sensitive skin. Some brands always cause breakouts for me. so far, everything has been very pleasant with this brand, and the products also provide moisture. the brand is called PURE U.
But I dont know if it's available in the USA.
What has always helped me are products without alcohol, fragrances and other irritating ingredients.
Hope that helps :)
I'm getting married in July and I'm doing my own makeup. I have slightly oily, acne-prone skin with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and dark marks. I would like a foundation that offers medium/buildable coverage but still looks quite dewy and fresh. I have Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in mind but can anyone else make some recommendations for me in terms of base makeup and concealer etc? I like a natural and glowy base but need some degree of coverage. Thank you!
Too Faced born this way is a natural finish, medium to full coverage, and oil free. It gets along well with my acne prone skin. My skin used to be pretty oily and this foundation held up well. Not sure how it would handle a bridal look, I’m not skilled in full looks so I’ve never tried it
Thank you so much!
Okay, my beautiful friends. My husband and I going on a date for the first time in quite a while. We have a small child and both of our families are.. not the best so, we let many people watch them. We maybe get 1-2 dates a year, so I always want to look my absolute best, since he usually sees men looking like an egg lol
I’m going shopping in a couple weeks for outfits and nicer makeup. I usually wear affordable drug store brands, and not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I want something of higher quality.
So here’s the deal. I’m specifically looking for full coverage concealer, full-buildable coverage foundation, a good setting powder, and contour. I have what feels like extra oily skin, break outs, and cystic type acne especially around my period time, especially since I have PCOS. I also have discoloration from said acne, which is a bitch to cover up. I also have large pores, so a nice primer recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
I’m looking for recommendations for makeup and primer that has long wear and can keep the oil at bay. Please help me! I have no idea what I’m looking for, as I’ve tried drug store stuff made for oily skin, but it never really works how I’d like it to. I really want to show out for this date ❤️ Help an oily girl out!
Hi, I have very oily skin as well and realized that skin prep is also as important to control shine. Make sure you are washing your skin with a gel clarifying cleanser and use a lightweight moisturizer (gel-cream are usually best for oily skin). My current fav products
Thank you! This is so helpful! I always wash, exfoliate, tone, and moisturize before I apply. Do you have an recs for a specific cleanser and moisturizer?
of course!! I like the Roche-Posay purifying foaming cleanser and Anua rice 70 intensive moisturizing cream (good hydration but not too heavy especially because I use retinol).
What I use now: Elf putty primer, Mayballine fit me foundation matte+poreless in shade fair ivory, Nyx can’t stop won’t stop concealer, Airspun/ Nyx photo focus powder, elf Dewy setting spray, Physicians formula powder bronzer and highlight

Looking for something affordable and won't cause breakouts or destroy my skin barrier :))
Nars pot concealer 🤌🏻 tago lahat ng lihim mo
For high end, Nars pot concealer
For drugstore, Maybelline age rewind
For local, Colourette 2nd base
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. Ginagamit ko sa school and lightweight siya kahit medyo napapakapal lagay minsan.
+1 sa Paulash eyelash glue napadikit nya super strong ng bond and madali ilagay since super thin ng bristle ng brush na panlagay.
Hi, oily and acne prone din ako, I use this one from sunnies face Sunnies Face Skin So Good Concealer light to medium coverage. I also use one from maybelline, maganda rin 'yon pero nag-oxidize siya sakin kapag gamit ko. Ito hindi.
Thank you for your recommendation po :))
I have very acne prone skin. Every time I apply foundation and concealer they make my skin worse. I have tried maybelline, loreal, max factor, clinique, rimmel and burjois foundations. I am not sure which ingredient is making skin worse, maybe silicones or something else..can you please suggest some very good foundation or concealer with high coverage, which is completely safe for acne prone skin? I have tried some organic makeup but I don't see any coverage. I really need some advice please..I can't go outside without makeup. I don't know what to do anymore. I am tired of trying foundation after foundation and in the end is the same. What makeup do you use on acne prone skin and does it make it worse? Can you please suggest some organic foundation with high coverage as well?
Years ago, I used to use wipes to remove makeup and dealt with breakouts often. Ditching the wipes and doing a proper first cleanse with either a balm or oil cleanser went a long way toward clearing up my skin. (That and reassessing my skincare routines generally.)
If you don't want to use a cleansing oil for your first cleanse, you can use something like Ponds Cold Cream. You also don't need to use soap in your skincare routine.
I never used a balm of any kind of oil to remove makeup. I cannot imagine skin care routine without soap. I always use soap for sensitive skin. So you think that micellar water and face wash is not enough to remove foundation? I will try with balm next time. Which one do you use? But I still think that ingredients in makeup are to blame as well. On days when I don't wear makeup, I don't have breakouts. I am prone to acne for many years.
Micellar water and/or makeup removing wipes are okay if you're on a flight, or you're somewhere where you can't do your usual cleansing routine, or you're fixing a makeup mistake or cleaning up fallout. They're not the best things to use to remove makeup from your face regularly.
I use a cleansing oil, personally, for my first cleanse — currently, the one from Biossance. In the past I've used the Makeup Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil from Boscia, a cleansing oil from The Face Shop (I didn't like this one), a cleansing balm from elemental herbology (I don't think the specific balm I used is around anymore, but they do sell a cleansing balm), and one from Nude Skincare (brand and product are long discontinued).
I use a cream cleanser from Community Sixty-Six for a second cleanse.
There's no way to suggest something "completely safe" because everyone is different. Tinted moisturizers with water based concealers for areas that you need more coverage for might help. I really like the Nyx Bare With Me. If you can get away with only doing heavier coverage on some areas and lighter on other areas, it might be easier on your skin in general.
I wouldn't put too much stock in "organic" either. You can have "organic" coconut oil but it's still gonna clog your pores and there isn't much regulation for those terms.
It's worth looking at your removal routine too. Do you double cleanse?
Thank you for your advice! I have never tried tinted moisturisers and bb and cc cream before. I am always after something with higher coverage. I think that maybe silicones are causing more breakouts.. I really wish I could find out which ingredient is problematic. Yes, I chose organic because they usually don't contain many comedogenic ingredients like other foundations for acne prone skin. But they put essential oils in organic.. I don't like it. I don't like putting any kind of oil on my skin. I only use micellar water, makeup wipes, cleanser, and then soap. When I was a teen, I could put any kind of foundation I never broke out.
Yeah, our skin changes with age so what worked as a teenager might not work these days. I'm actually worried that you're overcleansing your skin with all that. I do heavy cosplay make-up and even with that I find a cleansing balm (I like Take the Day Off by Clinique) and a follow up with a mild cleanser (like Cetaphil) does a pretty thorough job in removing everything. If you overcleanse, you're going to strip your skin's barrier and be more prone to break outs.
I am that kind of person who can't go out bare face, lol. There must be some makeup that doesn't exacerbate the condition.

Skincare > makeup. Fix your skin or all products will forever irritate you. Once your skin has improved you likely won’t need half the products you use now. I spent the last year on a retinoid and now only use a tiny bit on primer and a light CC cream on any red areas. And of course concealer under my dark purple eye circles 🤣
I have been using retinoid, but I get more and more spots from this, and I don't like it. I wanna get rid of it forever. I have been so tired of dealing with acne for 12 years now. I like high coverage. I really don't know which foundation to choose. Yes, until acne disappear it will take a long time, and I can't go bare face outside.
Power through the purge!!!! If you haven’t post on r/skincareaddiction for advice to help minimize the purge. And while I suffered my purges I just wore a face mask, then eventually I stopped giving a fuck. Why should I care if people judge my skin? They can fuck off, their opinion doesn’t mean shit.
I'm new to using makeup and it doesn't take much for me to breakout. I've tried Bye Bye Redness and BareMinerals powder with pretty good success. Just curious about other brands or products, even tools, that are sensitive skin friendly?
ETA: I’m also trying out SNP PREP - CICARONIC SOOTHING CREAM and so far I’m a fan. Especially when I get the brilliant idea to try something I know is probably going to set my face on fire.
Estee Lauder's Double Wear is my holy grail. Laura Mercier has an oil free tinted moisturizer that is also great for a more natural look.
M.A.C. studio fix cream to powder, and it cosmetics cc cream foot oily skin have worked for me. Laura Mercier powder didn't break me out
I really like my clinique foundations
I use neutrogena skin clearing foundation. It doesn’t break me out at all and is very light weight.
My skin type is combination/dry and I tend to have some redness and blemishes on my cheek or around my mouth from time to time, by blemishes I just mean pimples that turn into dry spots.
I have a hard time finding makeup that sits nicely on top of redness/acne/dry skin. A lot of the time it groups around these spots and just looks yucky 😌. Especially by the end of the day, oof.
I really struggle when it comes to finding cream products, most cream bronzers and blushes do not perform great on flawed skin. So far I really have liked the milk bronzer, I find it doesn’t take my foundation off if I use a brush and tap/buff it in.
I should also mention that I do not like to wear a lot of foundation/concealer because sometimes that can make textured skin look much worse.
Thoughts :)
Might not work for everyone, I have oily skin but flaky and dehydrated on the surface, I Pat a light layer of Drunk Elephant Marula Oil if my Korean brand toner pads (Fatiom) doesn’t seem to get rid of the flakes
Hi! I have combination/dry skin with rosacea, and I’ve found that skin prep is really what helps me the most. I’ve been using the Bobbi Brown face base primer/moisturizer and it does wonders.
As far as foundations, I’ve had the best experience with NARS. I’ve been wearing the new light reflecting foundation lately and love it. I also like the naturally radiant and sheer glow formulas!
I’ve been using the Rare Beauty bronzing stick in Happy Sol and loooove it. It’s super creamy and blends like a dream.
I’ve been skipping setting powder all over, but just use it around my nose where I get oily, and the slightest amount on my forehead and chin. I switched to the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray a few months ago and I’m never looking back. It’s hydrating, seems to melt everything together for a flawless finish, and really keeps my makeup in place ALL day.
I'm 33 and have been dealing with acne since I was a teenager. I finally found a skincare routine that keeps it in check with the help of a dermatologist. Through trying a bunch of different physical sunscreens over the years, plus trying The Ordinary's Niacinamine + Zinc, I figured out that my face hates zinc. I also found this website: https://acneclinicnyc.com/pore-clogging-ingredients/ that will tell you if ingredients are comeodogenic/acne-genic, and another website I closed the tab for warned against mica. Also my T-zone is usually an oil slick, so that's also a factor.
All that being said, I was on the hunt for zinc-free, mica-free products that also pass the ingredient list check. The Holy Grail lists were very helpful as a starting point for products to check the ingredients of. I also ended up just looking at a bunch of products available at my local Ulta to see what satisfied my requirements.
That being said, I wanted to present my results. I did a basic face with some of them on Monday, and my face hasn't exploded, so I'm satisfied, but hopefully my hours of research helps someone else. Products in bold are the ones I actually ended up purchasing. Obviously this is a non-exhaustive list, and does tend toward the expensive. All in I spent about $125, which is steep, but this should keep me going for quite a while. My eye stuff (mascara, eyeshadow, brow tint) were spared in my purge, so I luckily did not have to re-buy those.
Primer
The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer - This one had better reviews on here, but it was listed as not in stock at my local Ulta, so I was extremely pleased to find it on the shelf.
The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer - Passes ingredient check, reviews not as good as the High-Adherence Silicone Primer
Foundation
IT Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation + Glow Serum with SPF 40 - I prefer non-full coverage foundations, and the Fair Light color was a good match for my skin tone. Having used it it went on quite nicely, and I was able to build coverage where needed. NOTE: IT Cosmetics' other CC creams don't pass the ingredient check, and some contain zinc.
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Foundation + Skincare - Full coverage, so less preferred. Plus my Ulta didn't have the shade I wanted.
Concealer
Ulta Color Correcting Concealer (green) - This was an impulse purchase/in-store add-on. I do have redness, and this was the only one I could find that (a) passed the ingredient check (does contain mica, but I was exhausted at this point and stopped caring), and (b) wasn't also a primer.
Silk Cosmetics HD Concealer - Not available at Ulta, but I had some from before that passed the ingredient check and therefore was spared from The Purge.
Blush
ColourPop Super Shock Blush - This one notably does not pass the ingredient check (contains soybean oil, which rates a 4-5 out of 5 on the comeodogenic scale), but it was the only one on the list I could find in Ulta.
Milani Cheek Kiss Blush - Contains mica, otherwise passes ingredient check
Benefit Lip & Cheek Stain and Tint - Does not pass the ingredient check due to the types of red dye used (Red 17, 21, 3, 30 and 36 are apparently comeodogenic), but is otherwise fine. I strongly considered this one but didn't get it because I am unfamiliar with liquid blush and am too old to learn anything new.
LA Girl Soft Matte Cream Blush - Completely passes the ingredient check, my Ulta just didn't have any in stock. Might seek some out at a later date.
Setting Powder
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Translucent Loose Setting Powder - Does not pass ingredient check due to containing algae extract, but I use The Ordinary's Marine Hyaluronics every day and that also contains algae extract so I deemed it acceptable.
LA Girl Pro Setting Powder - Contains one ingredient: silica powder. At its price point ($6) I figured I could try it out, and maybe try mixing it with cornstarch and/or colloidal oatmeal at some point and see how that goes.
NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder - May contain mica, otherwise passes ingredient check.

Note: I just revisited this and "Silk Cosmetics" should actually be "Silk Naturals"
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this all out. It was very helpful and I'm going to check into several of the products!
More people should info dump after having to heavily research things. Thanks for posting!
Thank you for writing this up! I have been getting red bumps and some acne on my cheeks where I put my blush. I’m going to try the LA girl cream blush once my spots clear up. 🙂
best makeup for acne-prone skin
Key Considerations for Makeup for Acne-Prone Skin:
Non-Comedogenic Formulas: Look for products labeled as non-comedogenic, which means they won't clog pores and are less likely to cause breakouts.
Oil-Free Products: Opt for oil-free foundations and concealers to reduce excess oil on the skin, which can exacerbate acne.
Mineral Makeup: Consider mineral-based makeup, as it often contains fewer irritants and can be gentler on sensitive skin.
Ingredients to Look For:
Avoid Heavy Coverage: Heavy foundations can suffocate the skin. Instead, choose lightweight, buildable coverage products.
Recommendations:
