What Redditors are Saying

Best Minecraft Minigame Servers

TL;DR

  • Hypixel is the most popular and highly recommended server for minigames.
  • Other notable servers include Creaking SMP, Minehut's Dumbevents, The Hive (Bedrock), and Cubecraft.

Hypixel

Hypixel is consistently mentioned as the top choice for Minecraft minigame servers. It boasts a large player base with between 60,000 to 150,000 players online at any given time [3:1]. Hypixel offers a wide variety of games such as SkyWars, BedWars, Spleef, and TNT Run, making it a versatile choice for players looking for diverse gameplay options [4:2].

Creaking SMP

For those who enjoy a community-focused environment with minigames integrated into a survival world, Creaking SMP is a good option. It features a long-term vanilla server with proximity voice chat and a creative player base. This server emphasizes community vibes without pay-to-win elements or gimmicks [1:1][2:1].

Minehut's Dumbevents

Dumbevents on Minehut is highlighted as a lesser-known but enjoyable server for minigames. Despite not having high player counts, it offers engaging gameplay even during off-peak hours [4:1].

The Hive and Cubecraft (Bedrock Edition)

While primarily focused on Bedrock Edition, The Hive and Cubecraft are noted for their fun and active minigame communities. The Hive's Bedwars often has around 8,000 players, and both servers provide a range of entertaining minigames [4:3]. Although these servers cater to Bedrock players, they offer competitive gameplay with separate pools for mobile, console, and PC players, ensuring balanced matches [4:3].

Cubecraft (Java Edition)

Cubecraft is also available for Java Edition and is recommended for its PvP minigames like Sky Wars, Survival Games, and Bedwars. However, some users note that the combat mechanics may feel different compared to other servers [5:1][5:2].

In conclusion, Hypixel remains the dominant choice for Minecraft minigame enthusiasts, but alternative servers like Creaking SMP, Minehut's Dumbevents, The Hive, and Cubecraft offer unique experiences worth exploring depending on your preferences and platform.

What's the top Minecraft Minigames server to play on?

Posted by catpetter777 · in r/CompetitiveMinecraft · 3 months ago

I’ve been wanting to get back into Minecraft minigames and was wondering what’s the best server to play on these days? There used to be a ton of great ones with stuff like SkyWars, BedWars, Spleef, TNT Run, etc, but I’m not sure which ones are still active and fun now other than hypixel ofc

top? hypixel. other servers might have their own unique touches but they’re pretty run of the mill. hive on bedrock is a close contender but hypixel is still top

There are more Bedrock players than Java players

The Hive and Cubecraft on bedrock edition are so much better than current hypixel.
Bedwars on the Hive consistently has 8000 players and both servers have extremely fun minigames.
Skywars on the Hive has ~1000+ usually
Cubecraft has ~1000 players on almost every minigame (cc also has bedwars)

Dont get too caught up with "oh its bedrock though so its probably shit"
On the Hive server, mobile, console and pc players are seperated so you will generally be going up against skilled players (not kids on their phones).

Also if you are looking for active MINIGAMES (non-pvp) then i 100% reccomend bedrock since we have so many people playing games like Minerware, Deathrun and Spleef.

I will say tho that bedrock does not have a single good skyblock game BUT even if we did hypixel will always have the "real skyblock" label whereas anything else would just be laballed a copy anyways.

For me personally tho I made the switch to bedrock servers because they have proxy servers in every region (asia, europe, north america) so I dont have to deal with 350+ ping on hypixel.
This was particularly important to me since I played competitive pvp (used to play rbw scrims) and it was just a horrible laggy expereince even though I was better than most people.

Trust me bro, give it a try, chances are you will end up liking it since bedrock has some of the highest quality servers in minecraft now with all the support from mojang and the privelages of being on the latest version with a 1.8 style pvp system.

Big paragraph ik...

Too bad CC Bedwars sucks (Hive is good though)

Also 1.8 style PvP? The only similarity is spam clicking

1 upvotes on reddit
hazza2hot · 3 months ago

idk, most things that learned on java like w-tapping, s-tapping, jump-resets and zest timing all translated to bedrock and i use all of those mechanics on bedrock regularly.

CC bedwars is VERY fun if you are playing 4s, but otherwise its too easy and too boring (especially doubles. Also i keep losing my solo winstreaks to hackers on cubecraft, can't get over 75 because of it

1 upvotes on reddit
BakeSquare6362 · 3 months ago

1.8 and bedrock both dont have tbe attack cooldown, sure, but they're still very very different.

1 upvotes on reddit
hazza2hot · 3 months ago

Ig so but not really, some mechanics like jump resets, w tapping and combos work the same on both versions. (Also the hive and cc tweak pvp to make it better than regular bedrock)

Similar to how mineman and hypixel have very different ways of holding a combo due to diff kb values. Still very similar (I played Java for about 5 yrs before moving to bedrock last yr)

Low-key dumbevents on Minehut is better than any minigame server I've played. It doesn't have especially high player counts, but even at 1:30am ET on a random Wednesday yesterday when I first joined it had 6 players, which was enough for most minigames.

Any good pvp mini game 1.19 servers?

Posted by Riptide481 · in r/CompetitiveMinecraft · 2 years ago

With MCCI taking a break for a week or two, I was wondering if there were any decent 1.19 pvp servers that have sky wars, survival games, bedwars, and other pvp games. Most servers I find are usually dead or just don't run well. Thanks!

Best Minecraft Bedrock featured server?

The images are in order from favorite to least favorite.

Cubecraft: Gives a nice casual experience with many games to choose from, as well as dropping bangers like Pillars of Fortune and Magic & Mayhem from time to time (bring back Magic & Mayhem PLEASE).

Hive: The more polished Minecraft experience with a lot of sweats. Pretty good high-stakes games, as well as Block Party, which is my favorite.

Galaxite: Criminally underrated server. It's got great, original games like Chronos and Rush. Playground is also a nice place to hang out.

Lifeboat: Had a lot of great memories with this one when I first started out. Its Mega Bedwars is really fun, and occasionally hosts Prison weeks which can be nice to relax in. A huge complaint is its lag, especially in Skywars, which was borderline unplayable last time I checked.

Mineville: Clearly targeted to more younger kids, which I am fine with. Lots of stuff behind paywalls, which I am less fine with. It's got some PvP games, but they don't get many players.

Enchanted Dragons: Let's be honest. It's probably going to get removed soon. Every time I check, it's at less than 200 players, most of which are probably screwing around in the tutorial.

Honorable mention to Mineplex. I miss you, CakeWars.

Hive is overrated imo. They made their own knockback mechanics for PvP and it's just too busted compared to Java's. Their non-PvP gamemodes hit tho

Is there a market for more Minigame servers?

Posted by RiddleArt · in r/admincraft · 3 years ago

I have been debating starting a Minigame server for the past few months, I have a full plan and budget for it and how I would advertise it but out of curiousity, in your guys opinion is it even worth creating one at this point or is it more of a waste of time given how many other Minigame servers exist?

Generally there isn’t a market for any server. Minecraft is very over saturated with servers right now, especially as it’s still coming down from its peak playercounts during the middle of the pandemic.

If you want to start a server, do it based on a mode you enjoy. It’s impossible to create an enjoyable server if the owner doesn’t enjoy it themselves. Also don’t expect to turn a profit. 99% of servers lose money. Expect to lose any money you put in.
