Best Minecraft Texture Packs

Faithful

The Faithful texture pack is a popular choice among players who prefer to maintain the original look of Minecraft but with enhanced resolution. It upgrades the default textures from 16x16 to higher resolutions like 32x32 or even 128x128, providing a more polished and detailed look without altering the game's core aesthetic [1:3], [2:1]. Faithful is available for free on its official website, although there are paid versions for Bedrock Edition that offer additional convenience in terms of updates [1:4], [1:6].

Vanilla BDCraft

Another frequently mentioned texture pack is Vanilla BDCraft, known for its comic book style and vibrant colors. It maintains the recognizable shapes of Minecraft blocks while adding a unique artistic flair. This pack is favored by those who want a fresh look without losing the essence of the original game [5:1], [5:2].

Soartex Fanver

For players interested in a clean and smooth aesthetic, Soartex Fanver offers a refined look with soft colors and gentle textures. It's ideal for those seeking a more serene visual experience in Minecraft, and it has been praised for its attention to detail and consistency across different blocks and items [3:1].

Medieval and Realism Styles

Players looking for medieval or realistic styles have several options. While specific packs weren't named in the discussions, sites like CurseForge and Planet Minecraft are recommended for finding high-quality texture packs in these styles. Users are advised to use ad blockers and be cautious of potential malware when downloading from these sites [4:1], [4:2].

Where to Find Texture Packs

Reliable sources for downloading texture packs include CurseForge and Planet Minecraft. These platforms offer a wide variety of packs, including both free and paid options, catering to different tastes and preferences [4:1], [4:2]. Always ensure you are downloading from trusted links to avoid security risks.

Best Texture pack?

ORIGINAL POST

Hiya,

what do you guys consider the best texture pack right now and would recommend (Java Edition)?

I use the "unbound" version of Complimentary Shaders usually and would love to find a pack that goes well with that and is actually (nearly) complete in terms of retexturing every block (incl. the new 1.21.5 blocks or at least have a update planned for those shortly).

I love rotrBlocks for example, but there's just so much stuff missing currently :3

Don't mind whether it's paid or free, I'll happily support the creator of a good pack. Resolution should be 256 or higher, while both more realistic and just "better vanilla-ish" textures would work for me. I'd prefer a more "medieval" style though, not a pack to build modern houses.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

I make a 256X vanilla faithful texture pack called YoursCraft, so that lol. I am a few months behind on updates, though.

I really like “faithful” and “actions and stuff” (both paid packs), faithful just changed everything from 16x16 to 32x32 and looks great and always gets updated instantly, and I think you’ve seen actions and stuff adds animations to the game

You're paying for Faithful? Faithful is free. https://www.faithfulpack.net/

There is a faithless on the Bedrock marketplace for 990 coins or $6

And Faithful also has a 64x

Yeah I have the bedrock paid one, I can easily download it but every time the game updates it takes a few days for it to go on MCPEDL so I just supported the creator and bought the paid version so I don’t have to update it manually and it’s updated like right when the install comes out (:

I’d like to hear from the community what the *best* texture packs are in your opinion. If you want to share why you like a specific texture pack so much, feel free to add it—I'd love to discuss it! Thank you! :)

I wish they would pay more attention to this kind of post.

My favorite one since I start playing minecraft back in the 1.5.2 is faithful, is the native textures but in higher quality, when I start I couldn't afford more than the 32x32 resource pack becuase I was playing in low end hardware, once I got something better I start using 128x128 and is the one I keep using these days.

Texture Packs- Where do you get them? What are your favorite ones?

Posted by xStaabOnMyKnobx · in r/Minecraft · 6 years ago

I'm currently remembering I had a great texture pack back in 2012 but I have a snowballs chance in hell of finding it.

So I want to know what packs you guys use, I like realism or I like medieval style. I found a website that offered many textures but every download link was warned to be a trojan by my AV and I wont risk my computer for a texture pack. I understand sometimes false positives happen due to the type of file, but I feel better safe than sorry.

Try using planet Minecraft. Use an Adblock so you don't accidentally click on any fake download links and you should be golden.

I have Ublock Origin and even on the official minecraft forums, I was getting malwarebytes alerts and blocked webpages. I ran the addresses through google and several forums were confirming riskware/malware from the domains trying to latch onto my download.

do you swear by this website? I'm willing to believe they are false positives but I really don't want to introduce anything fucky to my computer. Between the schoolwork and music and games, It's my everything in life, as sad as that sounds.

I've never had any problems with the site. Just make sure that you click the skip ad on the top right on the adfly page and not any other download buttons.

I'm looking for something that doesn't drastically change- you should be able to tell what each block is just by looking, but I don't want it to be "midevil" or "realistic".

I used to be quite the fan of defscape and chroma hills.

At the moment my favourite texture packs are vanilla tweaks though (they tweak the vanilla textures just a bit, generally for functional reasons).

Best Minecraft texture packs

Key Considerations for Minecraft Texture Packs:

  1. Resolution: Texture packs come in various resolutions (e.g., 16x16, 32x32, 64x64, 128x128, etc.). Higher resolutions provide more detail but may require more powerful hardware.

  2. Theme: Choose a texture pack that matches your desired aesthetic. Popular themes include realistic, cartoonish, medieval, and fantasy.

  3. Compatibility: Ensure the texture pack is compatible with your version of Minecraft (Java or Bedrock) and any mods you may be using.

  4. Performance: Some texture packs can impact game performance. Opt for packs that balance quality and performance, especially if you're playing on lower-end hardware.

  5. Community Feedback: Check reviews and ratings from other players to gauge the quality and appeal of the texture pack.

Popular Recommendations:

  • Faithful: A 32x32 texture pack that enhances the original Minecraft textures while maintaining the classic look. Great for players who want a slight upgrade without losing the game's essence.

  • Sphax PureBDcraft: A highly detailed and cartoonish texture pack available in multiple resolutions. It's well-loved for its vibrant colors and unique style.

  • John Smith Legacy: A medieval-themed texture pack that adds a rustic feel to the game. It’s great for players who enjoy building castles and villages.

  • Soartex Fanver: A smooth and clean texture pack that offers a balanced aesthetic, suitable for various building styles.

  • Realistico: A realistic texture pack that aims to bring a lifelike feel to Minecraft. It requires a powerful PC to run smoothly due to its high resolution.

Takeaway: Choose a texture pack that fits your playstyle and hardware capabilities. Experimenting with different packs can enhance your Minecraft experience significantly!
