TL;DR
Minimalist and High-Quality Boutiques
If you're looking for clean lines and high-quality materials, boutiques like APC, SKYE, Mijeong Park, Bite Studios, and Waltz Studio offer minimalist styles that focus on natural, breathable fabrics. These brands are known for their durability, with pieces maintaining their quality even after years of wear [1:2].
Indie and Unique Boutiques
For those interested in indie boutiques with unique designs, Dogstar offers a blend of Australian and Japanese aesthetics and is praised for its customer service [4:1]. Wolf and Badger is another option that aggregates various indie brands, providing a wide range of styles to explore
[4:2]. Garmentory is noted as a significant indie aggregator, offering a diverse selection from smaller designers
[4:8].
Affordable and Reliable Options
Wild Oak Boutique and Mindy Mae’s Market are recommended for affordable pricing and reliable service. Wild Oak Boutique is particularly noted for fast shipping and solid quality, especially during sales [5:1]. Mindy Mae’s Market has been trusted by customers for over a decade, although some issues with tax charges have been reported
[5:1].
Cautionary Notes
While exploring new boutiques, be cautious about return policies and customer service experiences. Aritzia was mentioned negatively due to poor return policies [1:5], and Freckled Poppy received warnings regarding customer service and ownership issues
[5:6]
[5:7]. It's advisable to research reviews and policies before purchasing.
Additional Recommendations
Other notable mentions include Club Monaco and Massimo Dutti for European styles [1:3], and & Other Stories, Everlane, and Amour Vert for trendy and sustainable fashion
[1:4]. For androgynous fashion, Uniqlo and Urban Outfitters were suggested
[3:1].
I do most of my shopping online. I’m very picky and it’s the most efficient way for me to shop. I like Sezane, Nordstrom, Madewell, Athleta, Reformation, Shopbop, etc. I like quality and fashionable clothes (like everyone!) Lulus would be too cheap and often Theory is too expensive, but I like their clean and simple aesthetic. Tell me what I haven’t heard of yet! Thanks!
APC, SKYE, Mijeong Park, Bite, Waltz Studio are some of my favs. Love their clean lines and minimalistic stye. They tend to use natural, breathable, high quality fabric. I have many pieces looking almost brand new after consistent wear for 2+ years. Prices aren't the cheapest, but worthwhile if you like keeping your clothes for a while.
I discovered Club Monaco today thanks to a very well dressed redditor. Another European favourite of mine is Massimo Dutti.
I also often get ideas from the Cup of Jo blog :)
& Other Stories, Everlane, Aritzia, Elizabeth Suzanne, W Concept, Amour Vert
Yoox! Lots of amazing designer brands on sale.
I just discovered them recently and am now obsessed.
Amour vert?
I keep getting bombarded with Instagram ads from so many clothing brands. I'm looking to discover some fresh, high-quality, and unique small/boutique online clothing brands—especially ones with great designs, good materials, and fair pricing.
Specifically looking for western wear and office wear brands for 30+ women (Basically no crop tops 😛)
If you have any favorites, please share! I'd love to support smaller businesses and find something different from the usual M&S, H&M etc.
Same! So many ads about clothes that look lovely. Although i have never had confidence to order from any so far, i have heard lazo store is great.
It's time to cycle some things out of my wardrobe and all of my usual favorite stores have closed down, and I refuse to rely on Amazon for a sense of fashion. But also I don't have a sense of fashion.
I'd love to see your favorite online stores! I'm 29 and tend to lean a bit more androgynous in my fashion sense and I'm not the biiiiiiggest fan of skirts/dresses, but if they're cute enough they might fit my vibe :)
Uniqlo, Urban Outfitters, YesStyle, LIZ LISA stuff...
Hi! I’m sure someone has done a thread like this but not recently I guess
What are your favorite online indie (as in not backed by a big corp) boutiques? Bonus points if you’ve shopped there and can vouch. Price point doesn’t matter, I just want to browse! I’m hoping to be exposed to some unique or under the radar brands/designers doing interesting things
Not stuff like Shopbop, revolve, net-a-porter, etc. more stuff like Lisa Says Gah but other aesthetics are good too
I love Wolf and Badger and my interactions have been great. They are a drop shipper, but I love the brands they use and customer service has been great. A+!
Second this!
Would Lazy Oaf or Nooworks fall into these categories?
Thank you these are awesome!!
Memoriesthelight on insta
Garmentory is the biggest indie aggregator.
I love that this exists. Thanks!
I love dogstar. They are a little Aussie brand with a Japanese owner/designer and their service is wonderful.
Hi ladies,
I'm on the hunt for some online boutique recommendations and would love your input! I’m looking for places with reasonable/affordable pricing (or great sales), good quality clothes, and a reputation for being reliable enough to shop from repeatedly. I’m really drawn to the cottagecore vibe of Breath of Youth, the city/chic feel of Shop Lane 201, and the fun, bright colors of Freckled Poppy, especially when it comes to tops that aren’t cropped.
I’ve hesitated to order from those three brands because I’ve seen some mixed reviews about quality and customer service. I’ve also had some inconsistent sizing and quality experiences with Pink Lily Boutique, which has made me a little wary.
Would love to hear your honest thoughts and any recommendations you might have!
Note: I added photos of styles I'm looking at if that helps at all, thanks in advance 💛💛

Amazon TJ MAXX carries boutique brands Nordstrom Rack…I bought a cute pair of barrel jeans from the GAP! These boutique owners have gotten out of hand… they aren’t small businesses they are multi million dollar industries pumping shitty quality clothing for top dollar. Google image search is your friend
The only ones I shop at are discount divas and Jennaration.
I do NOT recommend freckled poppy or Walker rose. Bad customer service and owned by mean people.
I had the same experience with pink Lily and their owner is sketchy too, so I would definitely avoid.
Ohhhh, I didn’t know Pink Lily was like that. I did buy from them in the past. What ’s up with the owner? I met the owner of this Loloh Boutique I keep raving about to people at a pop up in Florida. She was pretty sweet and you could tell she was involved a lot with her boutique and she was really nice with customers. She made of me a customer for life.
I have bought from them too in the past and that’s partly what’s shaped my view of them. I would size up in their clothing and they would still be too small. Now, they rarely carry anything larger than an xl. Their return policy is awful and it was just a whole pain to have to deal with. The issues with the owner are just my opinion: I can’t stand when people get rich and flaunt their wealth. They have multiple custom built homes in multiple cities, she bragged about her kids getting into an exclusive private school, they have a ton of expensive vehicles. I find it very grating and distasteful.
I do think there’s a difference between these huge boutiques and local boutiques. I do like to support local boutiques, especially when you can get to know the staff and such. There’s a few around me I like to frequent. Unfortunately, it’s only a handful as several “local businesses” around here were just drop shipping shein junk for $50.
If you value your sanity do NOT order from Freckled Poppy 😂.
I will recommend Macoma Boutique if you want no drama. The owner of Macoma actually cares about her business and customers. She will go above and beyond for her customers.
Honestly, I've been going back to shopping at Kohls when they do their 40% mystery coupons. You can try it on, get free shipping, and return if it doesn't fit.
Thanks for sharing the other boutiques you go to! That's a big yikes/red flag from FP from other posts I've read - sucks cause I really liked their bright, fun styled tops! But would rather know now then regret later - thanks again 💛
If you see an item you like you can screenshot it, then google search the image. It will show you what other stores carry the item you want.
A lot of these boutiques sell from the same vendors. Do not use freckled poppy if you value your sanity and bank account.
I like Wild Oak Boutique and Blue Lane (I think it’s called). WOB has always shipped my stuff so fast. Bought jeans on sale for $30 on a Friday and they were delivered by Monday. I was shocked at how fast during a big denim sale.
I like Mindy Mae’s Market and have shopped with them for over 10 years. But had issues with them charging taxes when they shouldn’t have. I live in MN and clothes are tax free.
Ooh I really like the skirts/pants I'm seeing from WOB - you mentioned getting a pair of their jeans, how have they held up? Was the quality pretty solid?
I’ve loved all of my jeans and they hold up well! I’ve gotten about 5 pairs from them so far and have been happy with all of them :)
Ashley Roads. Susan and Aaron are good people!
Hi, I (32F) am looking for good quality online clothing stores that keep up with the trends but are not ridiculously expensive. I really like Sweetpeas Handmade for shoes as an example. Anyone got any others?
mungoandjemima.co.za
Awesome - thanks!
Also goodclothing.co.za
Check out yaga and Instagram thrift stores. Freestyle shoes are great for footwear as well, but there are so many local brands that also accept returns! It just depends on your personal style. Look around for local brands you like on insta, and you should be recommended similar stores when you like their profile.
Thank you! Will do
For locally made clothes and incredible second hand coats www.lootsin.com
I just stumbled on Jay's Portfolio today and it's pretty inexpensive for nice looking stuff. My friend had good things to say.
thank you!
Copying a comment I made on a similar post here a while back:
Tons of secondhand women’s clothing Instagram accounts (Yesterday’s Bloom, Little Victory Clothing to name two I buy from regularly).
Actually, now that I think about it, I buy almost exclusively from local designers on Instagram: Liv and Light, Britbom, Girl on Your Mind, Float Apparel. Stranger’s Club stocks quite a few local designers as well that are rad.
These are all locally designed and made which is a priority for me (willing to pay a bit more for this than the likes of H&M).
Amazing! Thank you so much!
Hi! I’m a Baal teshuva Jew, and recently tossed out all my non-honoring clothing. What are your favorite online shops that sell mainly dresses & skirts?
I love this girl named Kelsie! Her boutique is https://midwestmoxieco.com. She’s on tik tok too and does really good giveaways to try out her products! Also pink lily is good!
We noticed that you might be looking for online modest shops. Please look at this megalink of stores!
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.
I'm ready for a wardrobe purge, but I don't want to look like a bunch of fast fashion threw up on me but I want to buy in quantity, so nothing crazy expensive please!
And please do not recommend thrifting. I have sensitive skin and thrifted clothes have ALWAYS wreaked havoc on my skin/closet.
Aritzia, reformation and I really like uniqlo also.
Some of the stuff on ASOS is a bit cheap, but I have some pieces I really love from there! And they have some higher-end brands as well.
Aritzia is also a good one as another commenter mentioned - it’s a bit more expensive but good quality.
I also like Lulu’s and Tobi for fast fashion but that you can dress up that doesn’t look like fast fashion lol.
Just be selective with your pieces and what you actually buy and you should be good!
Also I know you’re saying no to thrifting, but check out Instagram secondhand sellers as some of them source directly from consigners so they never get that “thrift store” smell or feel.
If you're from Europe, the brands from the Inditex group (the one that owns Zara) directed to a younger public (Stradivarius, Pull and Bear, Bershka) are good options for affordable trendy clothes.
I’m so thankful for Pull and Bear, their jeans are the only ones that fit me.
I'm wearing a crop top from there rn haha
Every time I see something on TikTok/Insta that I like, I write down the store name, I hope this helps. I’m Canadian so sorry if some of these brands aren’t available in your country! Some may be fast fashion as well but maybe there will be something that interests you:
Revolve ; Dynamite ; Abercrombie ; Aritzia ; Lululemon ; PrettyLittleThing ; Uniqlo ; Athleta ; Gymshark ; Gap Active ; Old Navy Active ; Meshki ; Princess Polly ; Moda Operandi ; Buyma ; Lucy in the sky ; Urban outfitters ; Maguire boutique ; Cape robbin ; Ann taylor ; Daily paper ; Outdoor voices ; Acne ; Billy ; Azazie ; Mango ; Charles and keith ; Jennyyoo nyc ; Fame and partners ; The bar ; Verstolo fine jewelry ; &other stories ; Nasty gal ; Bershka ; Missomq ; Messika ; Soma ; Third love ; Namastetics ; Bagley mischka ; 4th and reckless ; Ohpolly ;
Edit: sorry im on mobile and dont know how to format it into a list, added semicolons for hopefully more clarity
Uniqlo is good for basics and not too expensive. On the more expensive side there’s aritzia- great quality so usually worth the investment to me. Also for basics I would recommend looking into wholesale apparel websites where you are allowed to buy pieces individually!
Omg can you share these wholesale apparel sites
They are just for basics it’s nothing too crazy! I use them for getting things like baseball caps, quality hoodies, etc. But you just google what you are looking for along with “wholesale (insert your country)”. For example I was looking for some accessories and I didn’t want to pay a lot so I looked up “dad baseball hats wholesale Canada” and found them for like $5 when the same plain style hat was like 30 on Aritzia. Keep in mind these are plain items! This is why I like these websites because I prefer to thrift more unique items and pair them with quality basics.
Also, it’s worth noting that a lot of Instagram shops use drop shipping so if you see something you like you can always use the image search on websites like AliExpress and get the same thing for the wholesale price. These items typically won’t be good quality, but it’s still an option!
How did you find the wholesale websites? Also, can you send me the info as well ☺️
i wanna know the wholesale too!
Yes please share here too!
With so many of us in quarantine or social distancing, and so many big events cancelled, small brands and stores are starting to feel the pinch. Obviously, not everyone is in a position to spend a little extra right now, but for those of us who are, I thought it might be nice to highlight some of the brands that could really use an order over the next few weeks.
So feel free to link your favorite clothing store, jewelry designer, haberdashery, cobbler, etc! (I'm also open to throwing love to nonfashion stores that might need a boost too, but don't want to overstep the boundaries of the sub.)
Ecovibe (sustainable/eco friendly brand) and Bridge and Burn both based out of Portland, OR :)
Love those two stores in Portland, let me add a few in the area!
Prism Seattle small boutique I love in Ballard (Seattle).
Primecut Bags amazing handmade purses from Portland, OR.
I have a jacket from them that I LOVE. Seconding this brand.
I got a linen blend jumpsuit from EcoStyle that I lived in the last two summers- can't wait to break it out again!
This has been my main concern to all these posts about shopping online for fun.
I suggest checking Etsy. Many people are hurting right now and most Etsy sellers are one (wo)man operations. Many sellers also sell in person but those events have likely been cancelled.
Full disclaimer-- I am a jewelry designer and sell my work on (mostly) Etsy but also Mercari and eBay. I think it's against this sub's TOS to link my store here.
Co-signed, an Ebay and Poshmark seller
I used to sell full time at Artists & Fleas in NYC as my main source of income. They have closed all their locations.
(I happened to leave in January for unrelated reasons so I’m not as affected, but all my friends are...)
Baleen is a local jewelry store in Seattle that’s that minimalist-but-compelling aesthetic at a great price point: https://shopbaleen.com/
Thank you! I’ve got my eye on a few things already. And they have a 15% off code: SPRINGFLING
A friend of mine makes stunning jewelry and with all the markets and craft fairs closed, her only income will be online sales... Forged Coast Goldsmith
These are incredible. I’m in love with the leaf earrings. Thanks!
Hello! 😄
I'm looking to see if anyone has any plus size friendly online boutiques they love! I've only really heard of Chic Soul or Pink Lilly.
(Double points if they allow you to return items for your money back NOT store credit!!)
Thanks!
Byamica, fayt, Billy J Boutique just to name a few.
Thanks!
Yes, there are a few that do full refunds, not just store credit. One I’ve seen people like is Universal Standard. They go from 00–40 and even have bralettes and basics that are actually designed for each size instead of just scaled up.
Thank you!
For dresses I used to use Kiyonna a lot - they’re a plus size boutique out of Anaheim, CA with an online store.
Thank you!
