When it comes to finding the best pouch, there are several options and considerations based on user preferences and needs. Here’s a summary of some popular choices and insights from various discussions:
Blank Canvas Accessories
The Blank Canvas Accessories pouches have received positive feedback for their quality and design. Users appreciate the craftsmanship and the ability to customize orders, as seen with the Hexcam colorway [1:2]. These pouches are favored for supporting small makers and offering unique designs
[1:5].
Peak Design Tech Pouch
The Peak Design Tech Pouch v2 is highly praised for its capacity and sleek design. It offers a 2L capacity that accommodates a variety of gear without feeling bulky [2]. However, some users noted that the material tends to attract residue, which can be a downside
[2:1].
Maxpedition Pouches
Maxpedition pouches are known for their durability and practicality. They come in different sizes like micro and mini, allowing users to choose based on their storage needs [5:1]. These pouches are often used in backpacks or shoulder bags to organize items that would otherwise clutter pockets
[5:3].
Everyday Carry (EDC) Pouches
For those interested in EDC setups, the Boker/Knifelounge Hamburger Pouch is a popular choice. It can hold a variety of tools and gadgets, making it ideal for those who carry multiple items daily [3]. Some users prefer to keep these pouches in vehicles or bags rather than carrying them in pockets due to their size
[3:4].
Alternative Solutions
Some users opt for unconventional solutions like Ziploc bags for organizing smaller items. They are lightweight, water-resistant, and transparent, making them a practical choice for temporary storage [4:4]. For more robust organization, products like SeaToSummit ultra-sil stuffsacks and Outdoor Research Backcountry Organizers are recommended
[4:3].
In conclusion, the best pouch depends on your specific needs, whether it's for tech gear, everyday carry, or travel organization. Consider factors like size, durability, and ease of access when selecting a pouch.
I watched the "My Favorite Small EDC Pouches" video and the VERY FIRST POUCH that caught my eye (the Best Canvas Accessories Multicam Pouch V4) - made me purple with bag envy 😁
So envious that I reached out to the maker via their website and purchased the exact pouch - in the exact colorway! (Hexcam wasn't a choice when I initially reached out, but Bryan hooked me up since he said that there was enough material to make a pouch. I told him about your video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsujPu5U5ek) and told him that he's about to get an influx of people wanting that colorway 😁)
The only difference is that I opted for a purple interior to help go with the purple hexcam exterior.
I thought that it was going to be the same size as my Alpaka Utility Pouch (pictured side-by-side in the last picture), but it turns out that the BCA pouch is slightly smaller. Trying to decide what I'm going to carry in this to best take advantage of it (I'll think of something useful).
Thank you for always featuring unique bags from unique makers all over the world!!!
I think you mean blank canvas acc. pouch yeah?
you are right - I did mean Blank Canvas, not Best Canvas. thank you for the correction 😀
Blank Canvas is awesome! Glad you got one :)
As am I! I am more happy that Klint features such a broad range of bag vendors.
I plan on getting one of the smaller pouches as well.
Thanks for supporting small makers!
Just got a few mini-pouches and love their stuff. Got the Mars Rover last week. Most under-rated US/Puerto Rico made pouches and slings.
Introduction
I recently got my hands on the Peak Design Tech Pouch v2, and it’s easily the best tech pouch I’ve ever owned. Its standout feature is its impressive capacity combined with a sleek design.
Capacity & Design • Spacious Yet Compact: With a 2L capacity, this pouch can store a ton of gear. Despite its generous interior, it doesn’t feel bulky when closed—unlike many other pouches I’ve tried.
Materials & Build Quality • High-Quality Materials: The pouch is constructed from top-notch, durable materials that give it a robust feel. It’s built to withstand splashes, thanks to a coating on the zippers that helps prevent water from seeping inside. • Minor Flaw: I did notice a slight discoloration, but I suspect it’s due to storing the pouch in my TNF Recon backpack, which has a white interior.
Organization & Features • Thoughtful Organization: Multiple compartments with elastic straps make it easy to secure cables and small items, while still providing ample space for larger objects. • User-Friendly Handling: Various handles enhance its usability, especially in backpacks that open from the top. No matter how it’s stored, you can easily pull it out when needed. • Extra Feature: There’s a connection between the interior and the exterior pocket designed to let you place your phone outside while charging it with a powerbank inside. I haven’t found this particularly useful—as I prefer removing the powerbank and using it externally—but it’s a nice bonus to have.
Conclusion
Overall, the Peak Design Tech Pouch v2 feels exceptionally durable and robust. With its excellent capacity and well-thought-out organization, it’s a standout accessory for any tech enthusiast. I give it a 9.5/10.
I like the functionality and design of this pouch; however the material or coating attracts residue and always looks dirty. I have tried washing it and it comes back. Am I the only one that experiences this?
The everlasting quest for the best pouch… My last purchase is my best pouch up till now, the Boker/Knifelounge Hamburger Pouch.
What is your favorite pouch and load-out?
Right now it hold the following:
Watch : Casio G-Shock GWG-2000-1A1
I have three: the ZF, Maxpedition Micro, and a Garage Built. I like all three but found them awkward to carry so I rarely do. Usually just throw them in a bag or leave it in the car. Might get in the mood to carry a pouch again when it gets colder and I can throw it in jacket pockets.
That’s always a thing right? If I see those video’s, what people throw in them, and when I do the same they almost burst and won’t fit in my pocket 😅 The one I’m carrying now is also a bit too thick right now, have to fine tune it a bit, but it looks promising 👍🏻 I like the fact that there’s a layer in between separating the stuff left and right, which is detachable.
Cool, I wish I could have that… Need to much stuff 😬 Very nice setup, beautiful knife (handles). Things are getting a little crazy out here in Europe, with the fear of knives, so lately I only carry a Swiss Army knife which I don’t have to cry about a hole lot if they take it from me. Otherwise I would be carrying my ProTech Malibu in MagnaCut or Big Idea Design Lookout or something… Where are you from?
Thanks. I hear ya... I've got a dedicated pouch in the car and if I'm out for a full day or more, I'll usually travel with a small sling bag that has more robust tools and bits, more medical and convenience items, charging gear, etc...
This just lives with my wallet and knife on my tray as something I grab daily and slip into my pocket.
Do you pull out the pouch each time to get something?
When I get something new you mean? Hmm, I think my EDC is quite settled I think… The load-out in the pics is not the final one… Just got it and when I got home I shuffled around and now the flashlight was changed out by a Nitecore EDC23 and the SOG Powerpint is gone
No pouch. I couldn't imagine pocketing that chunk every day. To each their own. It looks cool at least.
Agree. EDC tools need to be able to accessed quickly. Not buried in a pouch.
It’s always a struggle… Want to carry all this junk, and still want to travel as light as possible… This is my compromise, having it in one spot, so I don’t have to think about all my pockets at night when I go to bed 😊
OP's pouch has got to be at least one full Costanza wallet thick, maybe even one and a half.
I don't think it would even fit in most of my pants pockets.
The title of this post literally says pocket...
I've been struggling with backpacks with a lot of empty space versus backpacks with built in organization. I love the packs with empty space because I want to be able to use that for travelling or trips. But the built in organization is ideal for EDC. So Im thinking of compromising and using an organizer. For reference, I am looking at the CPL24.
Small and large Ziploc bags..
Light, water resistant.. can see what's inside.. easily replaceable.
I swear I so agree. This is especially better if you travel occasionally. I have bought and played with many pouches in the past, but nothing was more practical than Ziploc bags, and hell they are clear and basically waterproof. The cheapest pouch you could get that makes sense.
Now if you actually need organization for expensive stuff like electronics/travel essentials/camera, I would not recommend Ziploc bags, ofcourse, lol.
I have a packing cube for my clothes, and use Ziploc bags for everything else. They sides tend to split after a while. It's not a bad idea to reinforce them using duct tape.
SeaToSummit ultra-sil stuffsacks - mostly the xxs 2.5L size for soft stuff
Outdoor Research Backcountry Organizer for gadgets/ditty bag stuff
Tom Bihn side effect
IKEA Forfina
I do all my pouch shopping at goodwill. Give it a good wash and you're good to go. If you dont like it or it doesnt hold the stuff you need, you've spent like 1$ so no loss.
My favorite is a little tumi pouch. The feel and zipper is perfect. Its tiny, about the size of my smartphone. But it holds all the electronics and cords I need
I’m curious, do you guys carry the whole pouch in your pocket? Is it the kind of thing you keep in your vehicle?
Personally it’s something I slip into my shoulder bag or backpack. Sometimes I’ll carry it solo if I have to travel lighter. For me it just condensed stuff that was spread across 7 other pockets.
Gotcha, that’s what I figured. I bring a backpack with me every time I leave the house so I guess I’ve just never really felt the need to have one of those pouches cause it kinda seems like it defeats the purpose of having pockets in the first place lol.
What else will you have in the other slots?
Not sure yet, everything in the bag I’m using. When I have a need for something else, then I’ll add it.
Good way to do it instead of just putting random shit in there.
First product you own of theirs?
Yup! I have several and they took some abuse.very happy with em!
Knife?
North Mountain Blade Chop 2
Just got my first pouch from them. I'm really happy with it. I couldn't decide between the micro and mini. I ended up picking up the micro and it fits all the loose stuff that was always in my pockets. I was a bit bummed I didn't realize that I could have gotten both sizes on their BOGO deal, but it's fine because I'm still really happy and I can always snag a mini later.
Just out of curiosity, what to you makes this 'not the best in the world'?
Saw many made better than this one ;)
Slow reply is slow; I only ask as I'm curious what you think should be improved.
It's easy to say things aren't as good as other peoples work, but self-identifying the individual aspects to me is crucial for improvement (especially as so many people will highlight various things).
In general, this is pretty good, but if you want some feedback on parts I think you could focus on, then I'll be happy to list one or two things.
You did a great job. Really nice colors, and stitching looks solid.
Thanks a lot!
The best in the world is a high bar, you don't need to hold yourself to that standard. This is fantastic!
Thanks a lot! If I do something for me, needs to be usefull over its look, but still try my best!
Your best seems pretty damn good! I'd be proud to have made a bag like that
that's actually really cute, I really like it
Usefull, thant's the main thing. Thanks a lot!
Does the tape on the lighter keep it more snug in the case?
yeah but in the maxpedition mini its okay
In this pic I have the galaxy watch 4 44mm, Bic Lighter, Nautika Necklace Knife, Nautika Knife, Ganzo Multitool G203, Pilot Marker Pen, Coast G19 Flashlight and I carry everything in the Marxpedition Mini. I live in Brazil so idk if some items are only here.
pls share info tool tor
Sir that is a block of wood, not a pouch.
I bought this off amazon last year and many of the rings and interior loops have ripped. I would like to find something relatively close to this size but want something made with much better quality components. I would love for it to have a little more rigidity to it, and possibly a removable panel (depends on the design). What should I be looking at?
Have a look at the Maxpedition organizers. They have double thick ones that will reduce the footprint while still carrying the same amount of gear.
They are high quality and hold up well over time. Worth the money over a no-name brand.
I’ll dig more into their website later but so far I’m not finding any pouches with the same or more storage options in a similar size. Is their a particular model you’d recommend that’s a similar size I to what I have now?
This one would be a smaller size but the more compact it might be able to hold the same amount of gear. Look at their fatty pocket organizer.
Vanquest much better than Maxpedition
lol…. I’ve got Vanquest coming out of my ears! Good stuff.
Any models you’d recommend for this use?
These look promising, thanks for the recommendation!
Don't have any suggestions...just wanted to say:
I see OG Leatherman Mini, I updoot 👍
Take a look at r/Savotta. Perhaps the Kukkaro or Askare might be something for you. If you’re looking for good quality, rigidity and longevity Savotta is the best brand in my opinion
Edit: it comes with quite a price tag, but they sell ‘buy it for life’ stuff
They look to be very well made, and on par with other companies regarding pricing (assuming quality) but the kukkaro looks to be too small and the askare lacks the internal organization I’m needing.
Does any have any experience with CT Tactical bags? I was looking at maybe experimenting with a CT5 as a utility pouch….
CT Tactical is excellent! I have the CT3 and their 10L backpack. They make really good gear and sell at good prices. Shipping can be expensive depending on where you live but the gear is top notch.
Roughly inspired by the excellent Alpaka gear zip-pouch, but much larger, made from inferior bargain store material, and assembled by a complete noob. This was my first attempt at anything like this. I built patterns and a mock-up from plain construction paper. The front pockets for the multi tool are not deep enough and the zipper is too chunky. Should have used a coil zipper. I also wish it were lined.
Fits my minimalist wallet nicely, plus a few house keys, a AAA sized light and a mid-size multi tool. Next time I may sew a 3rd seam in the front pouch for a pocket for a pen.
Next time I'll get it perfect. Next time.
On the pocket side, if you stitched the separator before the horizontal top stitch, you could probably avoid the backstitch right because that would hold the end better? (To avoid the section with the double thick stitch)
There is always a next time, I mean "Next time it will be perfect" 😁 It looks neat and I especially like the colour, orange is great. And if we are honest.....it doesn't always need the be the hightech, superior, high-priced material. Would be interesting to see how you finished the seams. Otherwise, good work, keep up and I'm courious whta you make "next time"
Looking for something that fits on the inside (attached via molle). Any suggestions?
Condor Pocket Pouch/US Patch (Black, 7.25 x 5-Inch) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZU03LE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_osUpBbYT6Y6JK
Small pouch but lots of organization, only takes up about a horizontal third of the molle. Even comes with an American flag hook-and-loop patch!
(Edit: not saying it's the best, but I have one and like it)
And /u/techwear-intern is coming out with an interesting massdrop collab on a molle pouch system, might be worth checking out: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-intern-series-1-pockets-packits
Thanks so much for the mention! Appreciate greatly the support! :)
Happy to field any questions on the subject.
I would like to note that Condor is the 'fast fashion' of the tactical world... not a sustainable or ethical choice. My favourite MOLLE pouches of this variety are made by a German tac company called Tasmanian Tiger... not cheap but worth looking into. :)
My current favorite is from Tactical Tailor: Tactical Tailor Admin Pouch. I wrote this review on the Tactical Tailor Admin Pouch back in 2015 which includes at least one picture of how it looks in the GR1.
I've also used the OP1 from Triple Aught Design which is high quality but not my favorite... it was weird to access it when it was installed.
Edit: I think the GR1 Field Pocket is a great product but it doesn't fit the bill, for me, for Admin usage. It's really one open pocket, one zipper pocket, and one mesh pocket.
I use the Tactical Tailor Admin Pouch you linked to. I removed the clear map holder and have that stashed in a desk.
I removed it as well. Dug it out for Constellation but besides that haven't used it.
I've read over a review or two with the Zulu Nylon Gear Mega Admin Pouch mounted to the GR1 inside molle and it looks like a pretty perfect fit. Been thinking about picking one up for my GR1 as well.
These are the ones I've seen recommended..

if anybody else has any suggestions, I'd be super interested to hear them, too!
Thanks for the response and extra effort of providing links. I had the same question and leaning towards the GR1 Field Pocket simply for uniformity.
I have a GR1 Field Pocket attached to the internal MOLLE on both my GR1 bags and it’s perfect for what I need it for. Usually sunglasses, phone, wallet, some snacks, keys and stuff like that. I have an Echo field pocket as well but my phone does not fit inside so well so I use it occasionally for smaller stuff but keep the GR1 pocket installed full time. Also have a GR2 pocket that I use when I need to take my “on-call” kit with me which has a phone charger (battery) plus wall charger, a small Timbuk2 pouch with pens/pencils/misc stuff, and a set of Bluetooth headphones.
The GR1 pockets are pretty great. I like the padding and that I can attach them to the bags if needed. I got one for both kids and they use them to take snacks on trips and stuff. Just super useful and of course extremely well made.
yep, no problem. Personally, I like the uniformity so I've been looking for the echo and gr1 field pockets for sale second-hand.
Any solutions for hook and loop backed pouches? I'm looking for something small to hold a dopp kit on the interior of my GR3, but more affordable than the GORUCK shooter field pockets...
Try these. I got them to use with my GR1, so they should do fine with a GR3as well. https://www.propper.com/bags/pouches/propperr-u-c-2-pack-assault-kit.html

Key Considerations for Choosing the Best Pouch:
Purpose: Determine what you need the pouch for (e.g., travel, organization, cosmetics, tech accessories). This will guide your choice in size and features.
Material: Look for durable materials that suit your needs. Common options include nylon (lightweight and water-resistant), leather (stylish and durable), and canvas (sturdy and versatile).
Size and Capacity: Consider how much you need to carry. Pouches come in various sizes, so choose one that fits your essentials without being too bulky.
Closure Type: Zippers, snaps, and Velcro are common closure types. Zippers offer security, while snaps and Velcro can provide quick access.
Design and Style: Choose a design that reflects your personal style and is functional. Consider color, patterns, and whether you want it to be discreet or stand out.
Organization Features: Look for pouches with compartments, pockets, or dividers to help keep items organized and easily accessible.
Recommendations:
For Travel: The Osprey Ultralight Stuff Pack is great for lightweight packing and can be compressed when not in use.
For Everyday Use: The Herschel Supply Co. Chapter Travel Kit is stylish and functional, perfect for toiletries or tech accessories.
For Tech Accessories: The Inateck Electronics Organizer offers multiple compartments for cables, chargers, and small devices.
Choosing the right pouch ultimately depends on your specific needs and preferences, so consider what features are most important to you!
