TL;DR
Position and Playing Style
When selecting soccer cleats, it's important to consider your position and playing style. For example, forwards may prefer lightweight cleats for speed, such as the Nike Mercurial or Adidas X series. Midfielders might opt for cleats that offer better control and comfort, like the Adidas Predator or Nike Phantom GT. Defenders often require more durable cleats with good traction, such as the Puma Future or Adidas Copa [5:6].
Popular Brands and Models
Nike, Adidas, and Puma are among the most popular brands for soccer cleats. The Nike Mercurial is known for its lightweight design and speed-enhancing features, making it a favorite among forwards. The Adidas Predator offers excellent ball control and grip, ideal for midfielders. Puma's Future line provides a customizable fit and good traction, suitable for various playing styles [5:6].
Fit and Comfort
Ensuring a proper fit is crucial for performance and comfort on the field. Many players recommend trying on different sizes and models to find the best fit. Some cleats come with customizable options, such as adjustable lacing systems, which can enhance comfort and support. It's also important to consider the type of surface you'll be playing on, as some cleats are designed specifically for firm ground, soft ground, or artificial turf [5:6].
Material and Durability
The material of the cleats can affect both their durability and performance. Leather cleats, such as the Adidas Copa, offer a traditional feel and tend to mold to the foot over time, providing comfort and durability. Synthetic materials, used in models like the Nike Mercurial, are often lighter and more water-resistant but may not offer the same level of comfort as leather [5:6].
Budget Considerations
Soccer cleats come in a wide range of prices, from budget-friendly options to high-end models. While premium cleats often feature advanced technology and materials, there are many mid-range options that provide excellent performance without breaking the bank. It's important to balance your budget with the features you need for your playing style and position [5:6].
Bro saw someone glaze Emilia and decided to try to make it to Broad level

I'm on stage 3 moon with 1600 cat food and I'm wondering if I should spend it on this event or should I wait for ultra souls.
Also 2 extra questions:
should should I save 11 rare tickets for guaranteed uber od does it not work like that?
If I didn't previously spend cat food on rare tickets am I able to get 2 guaranteed ubers from this event for discounted price? (2x 750)
You cannot use rare tickets for an eleven roll. Neo best of the best however, is much less common than ultra souls, only appearing in special events. It's one of the best sets to roll, but in a few weeks, there will be an event called 'superfest' on, and that is probably what you should save your rare tickets for.
Can u give me a short list of best events I should spend on? (With guaranteed uber)
Anything with 'fest' in the name, anything with a guaranteed eleven draw, and the best banners to roll (other than the fest's) are the almightys, the dynamites, and ultra souls. The ones you shouldn't roll is pretty much just the nekolugas. As said previously, superfest is coming up soon (early October), so I'd say save your tickets for that.
Actually it's far from being one of the best banners. Most of the Ubers are either very mid or just decent. Only roll if you really want Agent Staal.
I stand corrected. Wait for superfest
I heard both of the best of the best banners don't have 100% guaranteed Uber rolls on them
Oh you are right
I would pick 20 and do a second pass. 15 looks great, and 10 has a little underextrusion, so anything below 10 is not good.
I’m with you. I never know which one to pick. Would love to know if someone has put together a complete guide on how to determine the best one.
Check out Teaching Tech's GitHub! He has a full calibraration guide.
You should really ignore the number and focus on the block
Use your fingers and find the smoothest, then go back one and start the next set from that one to fine tune it. So if the smoothest is -5, go to -10 for the next test and you may find the true smoothest result is 7 or 3 or something.
Its not about how the print looks but feels, as the looks can solved with different settings, its a pure flow test.
Is it just smoothest in the very center? What about the edges? Sometimes the edges are kinda rough but the center seems smooth.
Did you measure any of them?
both 15 look pretty good. But with recent printers, I don't see these tests doing anything anymore.
Hey there, I'm a bot and something you said made me think you might be looking for help! click here for our wiki entry on troubleshooting printers. If you still need help be sure to post plenty of information about your printing setup.
Here are a few questions that might be helpful
What printer are you using?
What material are you using?
What speed are you printing at?
What software are you using to slice the print and control the printer?
When did the problem start/has it ever worked correctly?
Does anything cause the behavior to change?
If posting an image of the problem, include some indication of the orientation it printed at, preferably photograph it on the bed. (Then we can focus on a specific axis)

Use a fingernail and scrape across the lines. The smoothest one is your selection. Visually 10 and 15 look good.
Yess 15 seems smoothhhh. So I do 1.15*0.98 and put it in, then do test 2 right?
I think so. It’s been a while since I look at it. The calibration page (linked at the slicer menu) has more details. Orca slicer’s wiki is a bit better but same info will work.
10
-15 and -20
-15 and -20
-10 look at number also
I used Trail Runners for well over a decade… until my first game this year.
Story Time: I was playing 1st base and went for a pop-up in foul territory, as soon as I took my first step from dirt to grass (it was wet) I slipped and damn near did the front splits. The entire other team gasped when they saw it because they all thought I was going to be heading to the ER. I had to take a minute to check myself and Miraculously I was unhurt! But considering I snapped my Achilles tendon on a softball field in May of ‘22 I was not going to allow this near-miss to go blindly by. I bought cleats online that very night and have worn them every game since. Side note: I thought getting cleats would mean constant pain as I’m a Big Guy (well over 3 bills) buuuut the ones I got are actually fantastic. UA yard low. So No Regrets & not going back to runners.
New Balance turfs have given me less heel pain than cleats (Under Armour) or trail runners (Salomon).
I'm a big guy (6'3"/250) and made a post in this sub looking for supportive footwear rec's and NB turfs were the overwhelming vote getter. I took that advice and have been very glad that I did.
Seconding NB turfs. Avoid molded cleats, especially if you’re a bigger dude.
do you have a particular shoe you recommend from NB? New to slow pitch and have been wearing Nike turfs, but get a lot of ankle stiffness and pain in the morning
Why not try NB cleats?
Cleats but with good quality / supportive insoles. The stabilization is very necessary for a sport like softball
Cleats with Aetrex orthotics. They help distribute the pressure over your whole foot. I use them in all my shoes. A bit expensive, but so worth it. Don’t hate my cleats—even when walking on pavement from and to the parking lot, which is a first—or dress shoes. Never have heal or ball of foot pain.
Hahah dude I never thought I’d meet another psycho that spends just as much on insoles as he does on the shoe itself 😂 I came across VKTRY insoles a few years ago after dealing with pretty painful turf toe from basketball and softball. My feet are now fully addicted to the level of support they provide and I can’t not wear them in any shoe. The most recent pair I got is by far the best version for cleated sports as it has their “grip tape” covering ~85% of the carbon fiber. I had to specifically request this after purchasing multiple regular cleated insoles which only had about 50% coverage.
I play mostly infield so turfs all the way. Much more comfortable than any cleats I wore the previous 15 years or so. Much more stable, too. If I had to guess it's because turfs provide wider, more even grip coverage under the foot and don't dig as deep.
what kind of infields work for your with turfs? I'd love to wear turfs, but we got dirt on concrete, and or gravel sandy infeilds up here in 🇨🇦.
Cleats. Because winding up on your ass is embarrassing.
Yep. Trail runners for the past three years.
Hello, I'm playing in a division that unfortunately has dirt fields... What's the best option? MG soles seem like the best option, but please recommend some models. I use Mizuno and Nike.
i use nike premier 3 turfs for dirt fields. very durable and comfortable. also affordable.
Mizuno make HG outsoles for the Japanese market, those are specifically made for dirt.
nike fg or ag i'd stay away from if u play on dirt
u/nothisispatrickeu Do you find that the Nikes run true to size? Thinking about picking some up for an indoor league where you must wear turf shoes.
i am wearing the premier turfs a half size up. the toe cap extra stitching makes it harder for the material to stretch so i like a little bit of extra length
Turf shoes imo.

I currently have New Balance freeze cleats, the cleat plate and the shoe itself disconnected so I need new cleats.
I have a 50% off deal thru Nike so I’d prefer to buy a Nike cleat, do you guys have any recommendations for the most durable Nike cleats?
I’ve tried on a good amount of cleats, phantom luna pro, Nike Vapor edge 360 untouchable, hurache 9, Vapor pros, Vapor elite, etc there were none I dislike.
I like the vapors a lot. Unfortnately, the exact vapor model I used to get all the time doesn't exist anymore, at least in canada (don't remember the exact name)
Loved my mercurials so much, tried to find some on the second hand market recently and couldn't find my size, a real trafedy
They were comfy as all hell but I could barely get a season out of them before they would start falling apart.
I would pay the extra money to never buy Nike again. I’ve worn plenty of their cleats over the years and they all break down and hurt like hell. It takes so long for them to get comfortable, I would just pay for the freeze and maybe ask a friend if they want to use your coupon.
I am a fan of the huaraches.
I currently use a pair of a vapor edge speed 360. Loved them so much I immediately bought a second pair as backup. Have been wearing the current pair for two years (including tournaments) and there's little sign of wearing.
I was looking at those but I don’t think they make them anymore, the dicks near me doesn’t have my size and the other sizes are all discounted/clearance
Im a new player, are there any good websites (or irl stores) I can get good cleats at? Im in the usa and we only have american football cleats over here lol.
I buy direct from ASICS and Mizuno here in Australia, but their US stores may not carry any rugby boots
We don't say "cleats" when referring to rugby boots. Just call them boots - if the context is rugby then people will know what you mean. The protuberances on the bottom of boots are called "studs" - and are generally either screw-in metal, or moulded plastic.
I saw from your other post you are a lock, so you'll probably want screw-ins with some decent length on them, but that will also depend on the surface you play on. A heavy surface will require longer studs.
Good luck with your rugby mate 💪
what position are you looking to play? Depending on your position can determine a better answer to your question.
I’m a lock
As a lock you need rugby boots. If you were a winger I believe glass slippers are the preferred footwear.
Check out World Rugby Shop
To add to the other comment, you are probably going to want some 8 stud boots for if the weather gets wet where you live.
Adidas kakaris tend to be the best bang for your buck in that category.
Have you asked in the USA rugby sub? Surely someone there would know a good place within USA?
True. Sorry this was the first sub I could find I could type in
No problem. All rugby tragics are welcome here
I recommend posting this on r/rugbyunion as there are plenty of Americans that can help you out
Non native supporters are very welcome
I've discovered that my knees have a hard time taking the abuse from trying to play Ultimate on harder ground. Anyone have suggestions for cleats that will provide more cushioning without being too clunky?
Adidas Mundials, both turf shoes and cleats, have been good on my old man feet and knees.
This is the way. Best cleats for both grabbing the ground and letting go when they're supposed to. With bad knees sometimes falling down is the best thing vs digging in.
Mundial turf is the only shoe for me. Saves my feet
+1 for Mundial turf shoes (66 yo, playing 4x/week).
Turf cleats with a wide toe box and some good inserts.
Gotta say, after doing a couple of rounds of PT for two separate injuries (both from ultimate, lol), I’m a believer.
Get good insoles with a little bit of cushion. The cleats don’t matter as much as the insoles in my experience. Also try out a knee band if you’re dealing with patellar tendonitis (runners knee) or a compression sleeve for other knee issues.
Exactly, upgrade the insoles. Superfeet have been great for me.
I used to think this is a joke but it isn't. Proud wearer now.
They are like the Cadillac of shoes. There is sooo much legspace in there. My feet can just sprawl out.
yes yes. and finding the better physios.
and "doing the work". regularly. with decent form etc.
easier said. but worth it in spades
Hearts!
