When considering an e-bike for someone who is 6'8", especially from a brand like Specialized, there are several factors to consider to ensure a comfortable and suitable fit. Here's a summary of insights gathered from various discussions:
Frame Size and Fit
For taller individuals, finding the right frame size is crucial. Many standard bike shops do not carry frames larger than 61 cm, which can be too small for someone who is 6'8" [2:1],
[2:3]. While some riders suggest that a 61cm frame might work with proper adjustments like a longer seat post or stem
[2:9], it is generally recommended to look for bikes specifically designed for taller individuals. For example, DirtySixer makes bikes for people up to 7'5", although they are not always in stock and can be expensive
[2:7].
Specialized E-Bikes
For those interested in Specialized e-bikes, the Turbo Vado series offers XL and XXL sizes, which may be more suitable for taller riders [5:6]. However, it's important to try these models out if possible, as even XXL sizes might not be perfect for everyone at 6'8". Adjustments such as a longer seat post or custom handlebars could be necessary.
Alternative Brands and Models
Apart from Specialized, other brands like Santa Cruz and Transition offer XXL frames that might cater to taller riders [3:6]. Additionally, Canyon bikes have been mentioned as having models geared towards taller individuals, though their stack height might not suit everyone
[2:5],
[2:11]. The Trek Emonda also comes in a 64cm frame, which might be worth considering
[2:12].
Customization and DIY Solutions
If off-the-shelf options are insufficient, customization might be necessary. This could involve getting a bike builder to find a suitable frame and make modifications such as adding a longer stem or adjusting the seat post height [5:7]. While DIY solutions are possible, they require experience and can be costly if mistakes are made
[5:7].
Conclusion
Finding the best e-bike for someone who is 6'8" involves exploring various brands and models that offer larger frame sizes, considering potential customizations, and ensuring the bike fits your specific body dimensions. Trying out different options in person, if possible, and consulting with bike shops about potential modifications can help in making an informed decision.
Been using itubego but lately it won't let me download youtube videos anymore! I've been going back and forth with support but am considering switching..I don't mind paying...any suggestions would be appreciated
youtube-dl
I am using Tubly downloader chrome extension and its been great so far , the support team is always there when I need help, and the best is you can grab audio from any YouTube video.
I need to download videos regularly and at every quality level provided any good pc software?
Edit: Closed
just downloaded JDownloader2, it can download 4K videos including audio files and other text files that come with
Im trying out JDownloader2 right now lets see
4k video downloader. its constantly updated
There are also cracks for older versions of it so you can use it without restrictions, which is what I use. I'm not sure what updates I'm missing out on being like 10 versions behind, but the UI is practically identical to the latest builds and functionally I can find no difference between the two. I love that you can download entire channels with it in one click, I've already backed up a couple channels that have been inactive for like 10 years with it.
What I use. Recommended
yt-dlp. The answer is always yt-dlp. Be aware that it is a command-line program, but it can be learned and used for basic functions in less than a day, even if you've never used a command-lime program befofe (speaking from personal experience here). There are, however, several graphical front-ends for it if you do need one.
Jdownloader2 FTW!
A modern GUI interface for youtube-dlp
Can it download UHD or 4K?
Yes but you may need to provide a cookie but it works :3
You can download any quality available on YouTube
It isn't open source? I can't seem to find the code
I have tried my best to find the answer by browsing reddit but the posts are either old or many of the links are scams. Does anyone have a software (reliable and virus free) that has the capacity to download YouTube videos in 1080p? I have a windows laptop, just to add. Can anyone help or possibly give some insight to doing so?
J downloader 2 for downloading any web content including YouTube very fast.
You can download 100 YouTube videos in five minutes or seven minutes. All you need to do is make of a list of YouTube links
Do you know if the download includes subtitles? Or just the audio and video?
Everything can be downloaded including video, audio, subtitles and descriptions.
Just try it
I personally use JDownloader2
how to use jdownloader2? When i used it it only downloads the file as a chrome webpage html file. It cannot scrub the website for the particular video link and it is hard to use. I deleted it after exploring it for a few hours. Is there any easier to use alternative or any tips?
Windows 10 Asus laptop here.
Youtube dlp
You can opt for a gui based on that if you prefer gui(https://github.com/oleksis/youtube-dl-gui)
https://stacher.io | /r/stacherio is another GUI for yt-dlp if youtube-dl-gui
doesn't float your boat
I think 4KVideo downloader will do it https://4kdownloads.com
Change youtube url when ur watching to youtubepp.com/whateverurl and it will automatically open a web downloader called y2mate
I'm trying to download about 20 different long videos from a course I recently completed to have them on my hard drive so I can go back to them.
I want to download them in their highest quality which is like 1080p, but every YouTube Downloader I try has so many strings attached. 1 free download, free downloads up to 480p, etc.
I used to be able to use a simple site called YouTube Downloader and get as many downloads in great quality as I liked, but now there are dozens of softwares that have paywalled this in various ways.
I'm on Mac.
Any advice?
Jdownloader, or you can just do it online, there is plenty of web sites.
As always, the one and only, JDownloader2. Free, open source, no strings attached, can customize everything you can think of. 4k downloads. 100+ playlist downloads. Only music. Only thumbnails. Anything you want.
Recently I have had issues where jdownloader is not able to retrieve the download link for 4k videos (not even a lower quality version), but antoher tool (4k downloader) can. Not sure why since this wasn't an issue earlier.
Youtube-dlp should work on Mac, it's command line based so works on like very OS.
I think it has been superseded by yt-dlp. @op both are free open source command line tools and highly recommended. For everyone else, for windows, IDM (although proprietary, but no subscription) is highly recommended.
I said yt-dlp in my comment.
You can use VLC media player too. here’s the tutorial I used
There any good programs to download YouTube video? I'm a bit hesitant about the sketch sites.
youtube-dl or free download manager
youtube-dl is the one you would want to use if you're just wanting to download youtube videos
Youtube-dl works fine for most other video sites as well.
This comment here explains how to use that feature of VLC:
I will copy-paste the reply in case you can't access that thread anymore for some reason:
"Open VLC and hit Media > Open Network Stream and then paste in the URL to the youtube video. After it loads, hit Tools > Codec Info and copy the entire location url at the bottom of the window. Paste that URL into a web browser and the video will play. Right click video, choose Save As."
Sorry for a bit of a late reply. Good luck.
Youtube-dl
i can only download videos in 360p on youtube-dl, is there any way to enable an option to choose the video quality when i download it?
https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl/blob/master/README.md#format-selection
This explains about trying to get the best format for the video.
You can use vlc to download yt videos, it's mostly one vid at a time but it does the trick. Look it up!
VLC technique's a bit clunky, but it works.
I got the technique here: https://youtu.be/zRGir0JYuM4
This process appears to try to download it in 360p, any way to force 1080?
do you know the official website to download VLC?
Just download on: https://www.easy-video-downloader.com/
There's a way to do it using VLC. It's a bit clunky, but it works.
I got the technique here: https://youtu.be/zRGir0JYuM4
As the title asks looking for one, not against paying if I have to, used vlc to do it but it caps at 720p and really want to get them in high quality at 1080p. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!
jdownloader
jdownloader
yt-dlp is a good one, though it’s a command-line program. You can download yt-dlp.exe under Releases and use a command like yt-dlp.exe <link to video>
to download videos.
there is a version with gui I believe
HD video converter factory can grab videos at original quality, up to 8K.
MediaHuman and 4K Downloader are really good and have high quality downloads.
What are some reliable and free ways to download YouTube videos for editing purposes? I'm looking for tools or websites that are safe to use (no viruses or sketchy stuff), and preferably allow HD downloads. Any recommendations?
Try this chrome extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/downr-all-in-one-video-do/eknhoglckfhdanknmnaklebfngkhiafa
Tubly downloader chrome extension, it's free for SD quality, for 4K original quality it requires a small monthly fee
4K Video Downloader (works for non-4K content as well).
I second this. Very useful and safe .i use it frequently
I need to download a YouTube video (an advert a client of mine is in - I’m cutting a model’s showreel - it’s not cc on YouTube but we have permission to use it, the ad agency is just not going to spend their own time/resources uploading and sending me the file).
I’m wary of accidentally downloading malware - so what’s the safest way to download from YouTube as of today (either paid or free)?
This. No need to download any software to get a YouTube video. Just insert "pp" after the word "youtube" in the link to download videos. Been downloading YouTube videos like this for months, and in HD, too.
Don't know why the fuck this isn't the top comment, and people recommending 3rd party github programs and shit over it. youtubepp Works fucking flawlessly and has done for ages. I downloaded a 7minute video in 2-3 minutes.
Why to go for installing redundant software when there are plenty of web tools available?
You could try keepvideo.org
youtube-dl.org is the best way in my opinion.
yt-dlp (a fork of the original youtube-dl) works really well, too. Stacher.io if you need an interface.
YouTube Premium, yt-dlp, youtube-dl
I highly recommend yt-dlp over youtube-dl right now. I tried youtube-dl but got crawling download speeds of around 70 KB/s. According to Github forums this is a common issue.
youtube-dl doesnt download in 1080p
yt-dlp, it can download in multi-thread to speed up your download. Also open source and a lot of people are watching, pretty safe so far
Still working. I cant believe it . In HD full video downloads with fast speeds!!!
Can i use it to download audio files and send them to an iPod? This is my first time trying anything like this.
I remember this hack..but cant figure out how to download on android..just www.youtubepp.com?
Hello, I’m trying to download a lot of YouTube videos in huge playlist. I have a really fast internet (5gbit/s), but the softwares that I tried (4K video downloaded and Open Video Downloader) are slow, like 3 MB/s for 4k video download and 1MB/s for Oen video downloader. I founded some online websites with a lot of stupid ads, like https://x2download.app/ , that download at a really fast speed, but they aren’t good for download more than few videos at once. What do you use? I have both windows, Linux and Mac.
Have you tried youtube-dl?
[EDIT] yt-dlp
Open Video Downloder is a GUI for youtube-dl, I already used it and it was really slow and sometimes don’t even worked
Youtube dl is broken. yt-dlp works like youtube dl uses to. I'm not sure if there's a gui for yt-dlp but do you really need one?
Then you're doing it wrong, youtube-dl or yt-dlp is always the answer for anything YouTube download related.
Use yt-dlp, here's a detailed guide /r/software/comments/9lxktm/how_to_download_entire_youtube_playlist/e7asu6g/
youtube-dl is super slow for me. Switched to yt-dlp, and would highly recommend it to anyone.
tried it and it doesnt work
keep getting <urlopen error timed out> while trying to download playlists
Look for yt-dlp in github. Use also aria2
Been using stacher.io, decent front-end for yt dlp.
yt-dlp. If you need a frontend use tartube. This also allows you to download multiple videos simultaneously helping to better utilize your bandwidth.
yt-dlp, always, nothing else, ever.
I use youtube-downloader_HD_2009_novirus.exe
