I use swords until I get the galaxy hammer

I use almost exclusively swords. I find hammers slow so I get hit a lot. Same with daggers. But that's not because they're bad weapons. I'm just bad at the combat.

Hammers until I get the Galaxy Sword. Then Galaxy Sword until I have enough spare G for Galaxy Hammer. I prefer hammers because it's a huge 360 degree AOE special, don't need to parry when everything is dead.

Galaxy hammer is undoubtedly the best weapon in the game but I still prefer the galaxy sword

I just prefer how it looks and swings lmfao, no other reason actually....also it isn't like the galaxy sword is a bad weapon at all, so in the end you're still kicking ass

I like using the higher level clubs, after tweaking them with the endgame stuff. They're too slow at the base level for me, but if you've got 1.5 you can do some pretty cool things to them that make them feel easier to use.

I use sword until I get a higher level club. Then I stick with clubs.

I like the look of the lava katana best, but I mainly use my galaxy sword. I’m debating whether or not to use the volcano forge to change my galaxy sword’s appearance.

I'm digging the shiv. The ability to one hit annoying flying enemies is nice.

I used swords for ages. Then I learned that there's an exploit with the hammer where when performing it's special attack, you can spam-click multiple times to deal tons of extra damage to enemies. Helps out a ton with hordes in Skull Caverns and the Dangerous Mines.

I want to use daggers, but the sword is just easier for me to kill the monsters with.

I believe hammer had a fun heavy attack for a while where it multihit most things to death. It was patched out.

Infinity Blade with Crusader enchant

I have the infinity hammer with crusader and I really like it. I've never played with a dagger though so maybe I'll make your type next and see what I think!

Infinity gavel (hammer) is generally the best because when you do the special attack you can spam left click (or equivalent) and the game will hit like 10 times in a second or two which kills pretty much anything in the game

If you are like me and regularly have flashbacks of your child blocking your bed at 1:50 and you trying to move them only to pass out on the floor moments later....then the answer is prismatic shards, prismatic shard are the best weapons.

Galaxy/Infinity weapons are the best. If you like those extra effects the "lesser" weapons have, that's where you can customize via the forge. The Lava Katana does have some use until you can fully upgrade the galaxy stuff (mainly against trash in the earlier floors of the mine).

Personally speaking, I actually prefer the hammer. The charge attack is a godsend during swarms.

The hammer is the king. That secondary which you can spam left click on to dish out some ridiculous damage can not be compared to anything else

There are some nuances that might make you pick one weapon over another, but as a general pick the Galaxy Sword is definitely up there.

I think that, in my 5 years of experience in Stardew Valley, I could confirm that the Tempered Galaxy Sword is the best, or at least the most flexible for my taste. If you have the Advanced Combat mod this is double the offense, losing its x ability to block. If you are tryhard, that is your sword.

I think I saw something about the tempered galaxy sword being pretty strong, but this is my first SVE playthrough, so I haven't gotten yet, so I haven't seen for myself

some people swear by the war hammer but i'm secure in my infinity sword. There are additional stats you can get if you buy the tempered versions i think.

Except for iridium slingshot I guess, so if you're a slingshot fan you have your new best weapon, yeah.

Objectively speaking, hammer is the best one. This is because you can use special attack+normal attack glitch to deal massive damage to enemies in aoe. With right profession, it blew other two away in performance. You can further forge it to one-shotted most enemies in game.

Personally, I like sword. It is much easier to use, and its special is for defense which help when I'm brain-farted sometimes.

I only use the galaxy sword

Best weapon is the one that fits your playstyle, most monsters 2 shot you later on and sometimes 1 shot gunners. Just picking the top tier weapons despite them causing you to faint a lot gets worse times then a weapon you mastered and are more consistent with. Each faint wastes like 30 sec.

Like others have said, the best weapon is the one YOU mesh with. When I first started I was told lbg was the best overall, which might be true but I get infinitely faster times with hbg and cb. It’s just like a car, yeah one can have the fastest engine but if you don’t like how it handles you won’t have fun🤷🏾‍♂️just like speed isn’t everything, damage isn’t everything

For speedrunners some weapons are better than others, but for 99% of players the ebst weapon is the one you're the most comfortable with.

the top three weapons in the game are gunners, however, gunner is very gear dependent and since speedrunners want to beat the game as fast as possible and the only guarnteed gear in rise is the defender gear, you tend to see speedrunners using SA or GS,

funny enough DB which is considered to be a top weapon requires a good armor set as well as well as 1 of every element which takes awhile to setup which is fine for a reg ppl but a speedrunner who starts with nothing in attempt to beat the game as fast as well never use DB either. Its usually SA or GS. The games done quick Rise speedrun which was about 40 min used SA for example. Defender gear is core for their fast story clears.

If you're talking about endgame speedruns where it is a fast hunt at the end of the game with gear already prefarmed, then it tends to be any of the 3 gunners but usually LBG or HBG due to how fast those 2 kill enemies on a monster. However, this assumes you are good at those weapons, gunners take +30% more damage and are more prone to fainting esp at high ar and special ar. Lot of pressure will be on endgame gunners, but they make up for it with some of the highest dps in the game if mastered, couple other weapons are much easier to master then gunner esp since they dont take increased damage like they do.

The best weapon is the one you’re comfortable using.

Just to add to the other response, the fastest weapons are ranged ones, specially bow. But as the other guy said, speedruns are divided by weapon category.

Speedrunner don't really compare times between weapons. Like you can compare times if you want, but they only care about how fast other people on the same weapon, in the same matchup, with the same restrictions do. Even then most of them just are doing it for a new personal best (PB) rather then to compete against anyone else.

Almost no one plays every weapon at a Speedrunner level.

You asked what the best weapon was. Insect glaive is the best, even if you hated it.

I'm doing a full crit build and having fun with the sacred crossbow/pirate captains sword as it has 96% crit damage as a stat too

One shotting bosses at level 70 when they're level 100 is fun

I started with the Spear and have stuck with it.

I am using the Bow and piling my stat point accumulation into Spear and Bow.

The pistols and rifles are too loud and I do not want to listen to them.

use the golden tribe chieftain set. its not beatable currently. its just the best armor all around due to the huge critchance boost.

100% critchance coupled with returning javelin is just broken for hordes and most bosses aswell since it multihits larger targets and is essentially a giant tunnel of death from your character forward at a silly long range. dont be fooled by its stats. its busted due to the insane amount of hits per target.

for bosses sacred sword with edgy slash will essentially instantly level all bosses in 1 use of the skill aside the worm boss.

but if you grind enough statpoints anything becomes a oneshot regardless of weapon choice or critchance. so it ultimately stops mattering entirely as the player has infinite power scaling currently unlike the enemies so there is a point in statpoints where contineung to play the game becomes just entirely pointless. 1 shotting everything will bore you out quickly. yes you oneshot even at hardest difficulty with enough boss kills. horde already caps at level 100 enemies. players goes to 202 (aside statpoints which are infinite) and fairy has no level cap.

you also gain all perks at some point. choices only matter at start for perks.

Sacred bow with crit % and crit damage is mad OP. Couple with the red pirate armor and crit nearly every time for almost 500% damage
