Crackshot
The Crackshot is frequently mentioned as a favorite among players for its ease of use and effective EX attack. It allows players to focus more on dodging and surviving rather than aiming precisely, which can be especially helpful during chaotic boss fights [1:1],
[5:4]. However, some players consider it a weapon for newcomers due to its simplicity
[1:9].
Charge Shot
The Charge Shot is another popular choice, praised for its high damage output when used correctly. It requires a different playstyle, as players need to charge their shots before firing, which can be inconvenient for those who prefer holding the shoot button continuously [1:2],
[2:5]. Despite this, many players find it rewarding and effective, especially in expert modes
[2:10].
Roundabout
Roundabout is often cited as one of the best weapons due to its versatility and power. Its shots return after reaching maximum range, allowing for strategic positioning and increased damage potential [2:1],
[2:2]. This makes it a solid choice for dealing with bosses that move around the screen frequently.
Chaser
While not as powerful as other weapons, Chaser is favored by players who prioritize dodging over precision shooting. It automatically targets enemies, allowing players to concentrate on avoiding attacks [1:4]. However, it's worth noting that using Chaser may not be ideal for achieving high ranks due to its lower damage output
[1:12].
DLC Weapons
Players who have access to DLC content mention that these additional weapons significantly enhance gameplay. Although specific DLC weapons are not detailed in the discussions, they are noted for carrying players through challenging sections of the game [5:5].
In conclusion, the best weapon in Cuphead largely depends on your playstyle and the specific challenges you face. Crackshot and Roundabout offer ease of use and versatility, while Charge Shot provides high damage for those willing to master its mechanics. Chaser is a reliable option for players focused on survival, and DLC weapons can provide additional advantages if available.
How can charged shot be you least favourite, it’s really good
I hate how it's used. I like holding the shoot button down, charge is really inconvenient for me and while the damage is great it's just unfun to use in my opinion.
I hold down the shoot button even more when I use the crackshot
I bind my switch weapon button to an easy button to hit and hold down shoot, but switch weapons to fire the charge.
I can feel ya I hate charge shot with a burning passion I would rather kill every boss with the shotgun rather than charg shot.
I use chaser because I need to be focusing on staying alive not killing the boss
Are you a newbie? You know that you can't s rank with chaser
The only time i used twist-up is when completing the divine relic, literally no other situation where i would use twist up when I could just as easily look diagonally up
Favorite: charge
Least favorite: crackshot
Same, crackshot is for newbies
weapon is good
its for noobs
It’s literally the only way I beat barnacle
Rondabout is the best weapon, smoke Bomb is the best charm and the best super is the first one. Change my mind.
Maybe I’m bad, but I thought the double hearts was the best ability. Followed by one extra heart and smoke dash. I think roundabout and charge are the best weapons
The double heart ability makes your dps so bad, and thats why people don' t like to use it a lot. The main play that you use it in is run and guns, when your trying to get the Pacifist rank.
The twin heart should be used to people that are bad at dodging
That’s true. I feel that with charge u can get a lot of damage done since you don’t have to be continuously aiming down the enemy. For most levels I can just flick and hit most shots
Dude the only thing that can outclass the charge in dps is point blank spread
I took it into basically every boss that shit is so good
Wouldn't say swap. Coffee is still the best charm for any aerial fight
Charge shot is godlike wdym
Exactly, my setup during expert was charge and coffee
My setup dusting expert were like twin heart smoke bomb roundabout and red attack(tell me which is its name pls)
I pretty much exclusively use charge.
Well what kind of spread we talking? Jam, Jelly, Butter, Peanut Butter, Honey, Egg Yolk, Nutella, Chocolate, Cream Cheese, Hummus, Avacado, Whipped Cream, Yogurt, Mayonnaise, Pesto, Marmite, Mashed Bananas, Mashed Potatoes, Refried Beans, Sour Cream, Margarine, Tartar Sauce, Marmalade, Tomato Paste, Cottage Cheese, Ricotta, or Ice Cream?
Edit: spent 10 minutes for 2 upvote a week ago now am sad fuck
+15 Physical Damage against Italians
cruster blade
+1d6 heat damage when microwaved
+65% chance to burn (representing the hot grease)
Buster Calzone
Skill Materia made of mozzarella balls so big you can eat them like an apple!
Marinara Light Great Sword
"A powerful blade forged by the High Saucerers for their Lord "Caesar the Small" to wield, only for it to be lost after his betrayal..."
80 Physical Damage, 58 Hot Damage
Channel the blade during heavy attacks to send forth a searing sauce slashes which deal 50 Hot damage on hit.
I just wait for them to get to the top and boot them off again lol
I made the whole town hostile doing this lmao
Every time I try this I end up climbing down the ladder. lol
I mean just stand a little back from the edge . As you kick you'd move forward a step and you will land the hit
This! Heaps of baddies afterwards, and they still can’t find you.
Until one of them tosses a grenade up there, lol.
Is there a way to break ladders?
no?
This!! on the ladder close to the interchange in Slatten Dale is a solid way to farm ammo
And get weapons to barter with..
I’d thought I’d messed up trying to hide from a patrol up there. Turns out I was a one man Leoniadas
Fun pain. Dying to a boss a million times and finally overcoming that challenge was the best feeling ever
I also like that no matter how hard a boss is in that game, it never feels like something you can't eventually do.
Just looking at the fight, you know that you have it in you to beat that, it never feels like the game is cheap, it always feels like it's you that is the problem and you know you can get better.
bro 18 hours is quick for Cupheads plat, took me over 40, congrats
Crackshot is op that's all I gotta say 🤣
ah fair enough, I didn’t get the dlc so only had base game shots and charms, relied mainly on charge.
Congratulations. I played the first level on my switch. Had enough.
Painful bosses but the dopamine seeing that trophies pop and beating those bosses was well worth it
This is one I can’t see myself ever getting…I’ve never gotten so frustrated with a game before.
Looking at king dice and cala Maria on expert. I almost lost my mind 😅. Funnily enough I thought the devil was easier than these two
King dice is without a doubt my hardest boss
Charge roundabout are the best
I've recently tried charge but it seems pretty useless in times of dire need.
I tend to go roundabout and spread.
Is charge good when you get good at timing ?
The only time I used Charge was when I beat the Devil. It was really useful then cuz you can focus on dodging attacks more.
just don't be in times of dire need lol
(for legal reasons, this is a joke)
Yes, it is.
As a person who beat cuphead in 2 days I’m gonna say pea shooter and spread.
Of course others are so much better on certain levels, but if your talking about overall, I’m gonna have to go with those two.
I'd replace pea shooter with roundabout
Yeah i'm talking overall
They all have their own uses. But if there was only one to keep... Roundabout forever
why?
Charge forever
In my opinion roundabout is the best
Welcome to the hunting team, we got
Bernard the bowgunner
Jacob the Anti-Rathalos trickster (Insect Glaive main)
Damien the Chef (Greatsword main)
Bob (juking main)
Youtube title : Hidden mechanic you didn't know!
this CRAZY secret CHANGES the entire game!
Would be funny if that triggered an instant rage
BAWGAWD HIS ANKLES
I just learned that when chachaboi charges at you like that, you can roll a barrel bomb at him. He will nom the bomb and explode.
Modded
Really? Some dude joined the game and dumped a bunch of guns on us we figured they were some crazy ng+ guns lol
Yes, but they surely didn't do good at that anyway. You could kill this boss faster with proper builds (even at lower levels).
That gun (looks like a Kaoson), which incidentally drops from that boss exclusively (I think), is a "boss-melter" in general. Combine that with some of Moze's Demolition Woman passives and you'll deal so much damage that you don't even need modded items.
someone may have dropped you modded guns that have infinite ammo, but they didn't even make them powerful enough to instantly kill a level 53 boss that isn't boosted by Mayhem mode.
you could achieve better results by just using legitimate weapons as moze or zane, with an ammo regen build, and still have infinite ammo. lol
Explain how this is op? That was a slow kill for 2 beastmasters and an operative on the lowest difficulty possible.
I didnt realize people have guns that 1 shot bosses 😬 Last time I played this there wasnt even any DLCs out lol
People were oneshotting graveward a week after launch.
Do people really feign ignorance when it comes to modded guns?
Lol Im just doing a playthru w some friends, I don’t grind the game like some of these people I guess🤣 Havent touched the game since it came out, we just wanted to replay it since BL4 is on the way. I dont know meta builds or anything ab modding, just play the game for fun
This was hilarious. At first I saw the the title and saw it was captain traunt and thought “captain truant is an easy boss, one shotting him doesn’t make a gun OP”. Then I saw it was modded and thought “you’re bragging about a modded gun that can do things that legitimate guns can do?”.
But then it didn’t even one shot him. Didn’t even melt him. Took like 10 seconds 😂
not to mention they used a fire weapon, it did more psychological damage to me than it did to taunt
Nobody tell OP about the plasma coil 😂
For those that want to know, i used the peashooter, the spread, the first super and for the charm i used the hearth ring. Against king dice for the start i went behind his hands for taking no damage. This fight was insane 🥲 (p.s. if you didn’t noticed yet i’m italian, so if my inglish isn’t much correct it’s because of it :p)
I used crackshot, spread and Ms. Chalice for him. Was pretty easy imo if you can parry the cards with Chalice’s dash parry.
But isn’t it more difficult to parry the cards with the dash?
I think the cards have their hit boxes extended a little bit more to their top so you can dash slightly on the high end and parry them with the dash. Chalice makes the mini bosses super easy and you can just spam spread EX on Dice’s face after that to stay on air if you can’t pull of the parries on the cards.
What is that achievement for
For no taking damage (because if you have more than 3 hp and you take damage, if you’re hp aren’t under 3 it counts like you don’t take damage)
This achievement is only for king dice btw
Now you gotta get s rank
Yeah in my dream😂
Maybe one day i’ll try it
I spent equal hours into S ranking Cala Maria and many others. Congrats for all your hard work!
Charge in the same tier as twist up is insane. Also r/screenshotsarehard
It looks like this might have been on a school or work laptop, which probably blocked Reddit.
I don't know if Chromebooks have a Print Screen Button for easy screenshots though.
They do
Roundabout anywhere but S-tier is insane
Bro the zeus gun is not and A tier and the roundabout anywhere under A is just s joke
Zeus gun loll XD
Offc crackshot is overrated at S...
I suppose s is a bit high but imo it is the best
Ignoring you didint take a screenshot, charge at C is a crime against humanity
I’m sorry but lobber above Charge and Roundabout? That’s not right
