What Redditors are Saying

Best Wigs and Extensions Brands

TL;DR

  • Popular brands include Hairvivi, LuvMe Hair, BGMgirl, and Isee Hair.
  • For luxury wigs, consider Raquel Welch, Jon Renau, Belle Tress, and Tinashe.

Affordable and Quality Options

For those seeking affordable yet quality wigs, brands like BGMgirl and Unice have been recommended for their good value [1:1][1:2]. Hairvivi is noted for its excellent lace quality, though it comes at a higher price point [1:1][2:4]. Wigfever offers no-glue options that are appreciated by users, although some wish the lace was longer [2:5].

Luxury and High-End Brands

Hairvivi has received significant praise for its high-quality wigs [2:4][3:1]. LuvMe Hair is another favorite, known for comfortable wigs and innovative features like fake scalp and drawstring options [3:2][3:4]. For those interested in luxury human hair wigs, brands such as Raquel Welch, Jon Renau, Belle Tress, and Tinashe are worth considering [3:5][4:3].

Specialty Wig Makers

For handmade or custom wigs, Precise Wigs by Nisha is highly recommended for its craftsmanship [3:3]. Arjuni's curly D hair has been praised for its longevity and quality [3:3].

Amazon and Budget-Friendly Options

While Amazon offers a wide variety of wig brands, it's important to be cautious due to inconsistent product images and reviews. Some users have found success with Amazon purchases but recommend checking other platforms like AliExpress, Temu, and Shein for potentially better deals [5:1][5:2].

When choosing a wig or extensions brand, consider factors such as the type of wig (synthetic vs. human hair), the wig's construction (lace front, glueless, etc.), and your budget. Personal recommendations and reviews can be helpful, but always ensure the brand meets your specific needs and preferences.

ORIGINAL POST

Hey girlies! I have recently switched up my hairstyle (I decided to give braided styles a break) and decided to go wigs (mainly a light yaki texture). I have been wanting a V-part/U-Part or a glueless wig. I started to get brands together , I researched Unice Hair , Nadula hair and silken supply. I was wondering what's a good brand thats affordable because this is my first wig , I am hesitant to buy anything from Isee hair because when I brought my bundles so much chemicals came out while washing.

Isee hair and Unice are ok

I tried BGMgirl for my first unit, which was pretty good for what I needed. Might have lasted longer if I cared for it better. But, I know they cost an arm but Hairvivi has such good quality hair/lace, I used mine a LOT and it still looks good.

She recommended Wiggins and they have bad reviews on Amazon. And she recommended Wig Fever. That’s the only two that are kind of affordable for me, that still seem middle tier quality.

Anybody second her support for either of those companies?

I bought two wigs from Wigfever. I like them! However, I wish the lace was longer on one of my so I can have the option to lay the lace down. Both are no glue wigs

1 upvotes on reddit
tag_yur_it · OP · 8 months ago

On the glueless wigs that come pre-cut you do have the option to lay them down but you are only gonna be able to use a few things. I use the bold hold tape, because you can cut that into however thin of a strip that you would like And place it along the edges and then place that on your skin (skin only). I have also used the Esha melt and slay glueless wig spray as well on my glueless 9x6 units. I almost always use some method of adhesive because I don’t like to use the wig combs, they irritate my scalp and I don’t like that it can slide back.

Where to buy the best wig and what's your go-to wig brand? Make a thread!

Posted by Friendly-Ad-8159 · in r/WigforGirl · 25 days ago

Hey y’all,

Our little community just passed 1k members and I know for sure we’ve got some seriously experienced wig wearers in here. For the sake of all the beginners who are still figuring things out, I thought it’d be worthwhile to make a thread all about where to get the best wigs.

So here’s the question: What’s your favorite wig brand, or where did you buy the best wig you’ve ever owned?

Feel free to drop recommendations, tell us what made that wig stand out (quality, lace, shipping, customer service—whatever), and if you’re comfortable sharing, post a pic! I think it’d be super helpful for folks who are still exploring their options.

Let’s turn this into a resource thread so new people don’t have to stress too much about where to start.

That's a tough question because it encompasses quite a few things: is it a handmade wig? is it something from the beauty supply store? is it something that I bought online? is it recent or is it old? Synthetic or human hair?

as far as handmade wigs, the favorite hair I have ever owned has been curly D from Arjuni. It's been going strong for over 5 years. My favorite wigmaker is Nisha over at Precise wigs. For hair that expensive- i have a professional help me.

as far as beauty supply store wigs my favorite wig has been the mommy wig. I think I bought it three or four times, and I think I bought two or three for my mother as well. It's a short wig, available on Amazon. This video by coloured beautiful sealed the deal for me, and i have had it in my rotation ever since. Yes, it's a 15 year old video. This wig has been THAT good for THAT long.

and as far as units from the new Chinese companies rampant on YouTube, my favorite by far is the the hyperrealism kinky straight unit by Ilikehair. I have bought maybe 8 - 10 of these. Every year i buy 2 at major holidays to take advantage of the discount. It lasts me 3 months on average with daily wear and use of adhesives.

Good (and reliable) wig brands on Amazon??

Posted by Dani-Anonymous · in r/Crossdressing_support · 1 month ago

What are the best wig brands on Amazon?? I’d like to upgrade from my $10 spirit Halloween wig to something more likely to look natural after some proper styling. I’m looking for a $40 price range synthetic lace-front wig and there are SO MANY random brands and the pictures in the reviews don’t always match the product images.

I’m wanting a good ginger wig (I’m a natural ginger so it would help with blending the hair line), and I’d be wearing it as a side part. I’ve narrowed it down to these two so far, but I’m leaning toward the top one based on the color accuracy in the reviews, but I like the bottom one’s styling. Any recommendations would be super appreciated!!

100% human hair companies

Hi guys!! i’m looking for a wig that is 100% human hair, doesnt get tangled easily, doesnt shed, and can be cut bangs into. I always see these influencers getting wigs and recommending companies but i almost ALWAYS get scammed and they’re never 100% human hair. it’s like they send the best wigs to the influencers. I hate it.

So please if there’s any wigs that have NEVERRR failed you, comment down below! 💕 My budget is $100-$500. i’d rather not spend $500 but if its top tier i will!

I can’t speak to the longevity since I’m also newer to wig wearing but I recently bought a Tiffani after months of looking at wigs online and I’m super happy with it. The hairline looks very natural to me which makes me feel so much more comfortable about wearing it out and about, and I think she does gorgeous colors. I will say the hair is not super soft (it’s not awful or anything, just noticeably drier than the other wig I own) but I did have my heart set on a red so maybe a more natural shade that hasn’t been processed would feel silkier.

Someone else commented, and the owner of my local wig shop also warned me of this, that sometimes Tiffani over plucks but imo once you are looking out for this you can see in the preview images/videos if there’s an obvious case of this. I’m trying to hide my thinning part so I don’t want a wig that looks like it has one too haha. But I think a lot of wigs tend to be on the overly dense/poofy side which can look a little fake and my Tiffani wig looks like a normal amount of hair someone would have.

I’m wearing a $2600 Lusta game changer wig right now (I have alopecia universalis) and it has three bald spots in the front near the part that I can’t cover. This happened within a year of getting it. It also lost its color and I had to get it dyed, which is less of a big deal than the shedding. They are going to assess and fix for free, but they’ll need my piece for SIX MONTHS.

I’m waiting on a Tiffani that should be ready in November.

I’m trying to order a ready-made from Wig Coven (on Etsy) to try to get something that I can wear that makes me feel good about my hair.

Do you have a local wig store you can go to? Before spending a large amount on human hair why not go try some on? I found a great place and bought a combo human/synthetic wig for about $1,200 at a local store. I don’t think I would have felt comfortable spending that online without trying it on.

Are you using a silk (or at least satin) pillowcase or hair bonnet? You mentioned you sleep in your wigs. The friction from your pillowcase could be causing problems with the hair itself and the cap too depending how you sleep. Perhaps getting a cheaper human hair or synthetic wig for sleeping would be a good idea.

I use this SUPERLOOK Front Wig that I bought on amazon. This was my first time ever purchasing a wig from this seller , and I was so scared that the wig wouldn’t come correctly , but when I received the wig it was packaged so nicely and the quality of the wig was AMAZING !! the texture was so soft the wig didn’t shed at all , it didn’t tangle , or it didn’t have any weird smells to the wig !! Everything bout this wig is Amazing.

Wigs and Grace (the owner Gloria is such a nice person)

And so many more, honestly if you want a better list, Willam’s YouTube channel has a five part series of all of her wigs and who styled them! Hope this helps

You won't find it mentioned on the show at all if they're not sponsored. But the queens will talk about it off the show occasionally. WigsbyVanity is mentioned most because a lot of the girls know Vanity, and they are great. A lot more of them these days are custom made or custom styled because the bar is so high for good wigs. You can find some sellers on Etsy that custom make them. I'll tell you now though, it's all incredibly expensive. Cheapest quality wig I own was $175 and it only goes up from there. That's not even factoring in if you want synthetic or human

Best wigs and extensions brands

Key Considerations for Wigs and Extensions:

  1. Material:

    • Human Hair: Offers the most natural look and styling versatility but is more expensive. Brands like Bellami and Luxy Hair are known for high-quality human hair extensions.
    • Synthetic Hair: More affordable and low-maintenance but less versatile in styling. Brands like Jon Renau and Raquel Welch provide quality synthetic options.
  2. Type of Wig/Extension:

    • Clip-in Extensions: Great for temporary use and easy to apply. Look for brands like Glam Seamless.
    • Tape-in Extensions: Semi-permanent and provide a more natural look. Brands like Hidden Crown are popular.
    • Wigs: Consider full lace, lace front, or synthetic wigs based on your needs. Brands like Wiggin Hair and RPGShow are well-regarded for their variety and quality.
  3. Cap Construction:

    • A well-constructed cap (lace front, full lace, or silk base) can enhance comfort and realism. Lace fronts are popular for their natural hairline appearance.
  4. Color and Texture Options:

    • Ensure the brand offers a wide range of colors and textures to match your natural hair or desired look.
  5. Customer Reviews:

    • Check reviews and testimonials to gauge the quality and customer satisfaction of the brand.

Recommendations:

  • For Wigs: Consider Wiggin Hair for a variety of styles and textures, and RPGShow for high-quality lace front wigs.
  • For Extensions: Bellami is highly recommended for human hair extensions, while Glam Seamless is great for clip-ins.

Choosing the right brand will depend on your specific needs, budget, and desired look, so it's worth exploring a few options before making a decision.
