TL;DR
Spreadsheets and Community Resources
For those looking to delve into character move lists, community-created spreadsheets are a valuable resource. One such spreadsheet includes important moves, main launchers, and combos for various characters [1:1]. This spreadsheet is praised for its utility but may require supplementary resources like YouTube videos for clarity on combos
[1:2]. Another spreadsheet focuses on punishable, duckable, and sidesteppable moves, which can aid in counterplay
[2].
Video Guides
YouTube is a robust platform for learning character-specific move sets and strategies. Searching for "top 10 moves" for a character can yield useful insights into their most critical moves and applications [1:3]. Additionally, there are comprehensive video guides that list all punishable moves for each character, allowing players to skip directly to the character they are interested in
[3:6].
Official and App-Based Resources
The official Tekken website offers a Superstar Guide where players can search for moves by character [4:2]. For mobile users, the T7 Companion app provides a convenient way to access move lists, although it currently sorts moves by character rather than by properties
[5:2].
Challenges with Maintaining Lists
Maintaining an up-to-date move list document or spreadsheet is challenging due to frequent game updates and changes, such as new seasons and patches [4:1]
[3:4]. As a result, relying on dynamic resources like YouTube and community forums can provide the most current information.
Recommendations Beyond Discussions
While these resources are helpful, consider joining Tekken-specific forums and Discord communities for real-time advice and updates. Engaging with other players can also offer insights into effective strategies and lesser-known techniques for your chosen characters.
is there a list of the important moves to know for each character? I've been stuck to the command input people cause those moves are immediately obvious on how to use them, but I want to learn more and the move list is being a big barrier
This spreadsheet is something i found a while ago, i find it very useful. It includes important moves, main launchers, combos and such.
Perfect, thank you very much
That spreadsheet is what I use and is godtier just as an early reference but do note that it can be a little strange with the combos it lists. It is not always clear what the primary focus is, probably consistency. If you find you can't do the combos go on Youtube and search '[character] season 4 combos' and just watch the videos and use whichever ones feel most comfy, most characters have a few potential BnBs.
If you look up “top 10 moves” for whatever character you want, you’ll find some pretty good info of what important moves you need and why they’re useful
is there a specific website or is google my friend here?
Google, get used to googling a lot of shit.
Who are you learning?
I want to learn kinitsu and Lidia
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a concise resource that lists all the punishable, duckable, and sidesteppable moves, along with possible string mixups in Tekken 8. Something similar to the Tekken Library spreadsheet that helps with picking up a new character, but focused on counterplay instead.
Does anything like this exist?
Bro wants the matrix learning program for tekken. Enzo sage has youtube videos on sidesteps, ducks and interrupts for every string. Asking for mixups is too much and too vague though you're better off watching an actual character guide for that.
Yeah, those videos are what gave me the idea. Having a spreadsheet for a quick refresher is more convenient than rewatching a video every time.
Thanks anyway! I'll try making my own and share it in the future for feedback.
Awesome too bad alot of it will be nullified with s2 changes. They said there would be 1500 changes.
i cant believe they'll nerf devil jin 1,500 times
Make it so his hellsweep is so minus on hit he can't possibly get any combo out of it (still launches tho so it's op)
1,499 nerfs. They'll make b3 a launch on heat dash for sure so his winrate improves (filtering purples = high tier)
This guy is the goat
Tremendous work.
Bummer, this is way to late, but it seems to be in a format where it'll be easy to edit new things in as patches come out.
Is there a move set list for every character?
Yes, on the official website under the Superstar Guide you can search on moves.
I mean best move set for every character like that
Not in a document or spreadsheet, Twilight Bats used to do one years ago but it became outdated and with how the game is now with plates, mome to, gears, etc. It's impossible to maintain.
Your best bet is to search for the character you're interested in on youtube and check out how they're played.
I checked YouTube there isn’t a list
I recommend youtube
Hi,
is there a move list database, where you can see and sort all moves in the game by their properties?
The existing websites I found are sorted by characters, but I haven't found one that only lists moves without a character category.
I remember watched it in FS day. Basically it informs you about what moves are minus and block and how to punish accordingly. Very helpful visual guide.
Hello dear Tekken Community,
I was running a side-project that aggregates Tekken moves, combos and character cheat sheets. This was mostly done due to me having been a beginner, needing the visual notations for things and... yeah, needed another side project to work on as a web dev.
For a couple of weeks, I was wondering, if people other than me would use something like this.
I am aware that there are sites like this, but they seem to either be littered with ads, only serve the textual notations or are in Japanese. :D
I'm just gonna leave this screenshot here and hope for some honest comments about the usefulness for you. Please note that the data in the screenshot is mostly mock-data.
EDIT: Thank you so far for your comments, advice and suggestions! I appreciate the honesty!
A website like Dustloop for Tekken would make it a lot more accessible for people unfamiliar with the series. Considering a lot of people were brought in by 8, I think it's a great idea.
Thanks a lot! I'll check it out for inspiration!
I will literally pay money for this.
Thanks for the feedback! If it happens, I won't charge for it. :-D
when it happens*
Up to you, but I wouldn't work for free. If you put the time energy and effort in, maybe some premium features for some compensation is not so bad. Or better yet, maybe consider a donation feature similar to like what wikipedia does. Allows people to donate to support
I like it! Doesn't hurt to have extra resources.
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah us dope
I was thinking the same thing if there is a possibility to input a set of moves list per character, including its frame data, focusing on plus frames and punishers.
This should be on a spreadsheet and running an algo that will determine optimal set of moves and maximizing plus frames.
This data can be used in practice for possible string combinations.
I made a compiled list of all Special Moves of all characters from the show, if there's something I've missed, please let me know.

Just realized that Gingka, Ryuga and Kyoya are the only people that use older special moves with their new beys. “Star blast” “lion gale force wall” “dragon emperor supreme flight”
For some reason though, Big Bang Pegasus regains Star Blast attack, but not Star booster
Galaxy nova and stardust driver are too iconic
I find it funny how Nemesis has one special move while Chaoxin and MeiMei have five lmao
I see moves written here for a character but I am having hard time understanding what they mean.
I am a T3 player who is enjoying T7 and so much has changed lol. I am Lei main btw

The numbers are attack types: 1234 are left punch, right punch, left kick, right kick. The letters correspond to directional buttons; D for Down, F for Forward, etc. n means neutral. So f, n 4 would be forward, neutral, right kick.
Thanks a lot
In addition, the directions in between the four cardinals are called down-forward (denoted as d/f), down-back (d/b), up-back (u/b), and up-forward (u/f).

Key Considerations for Character Move Lists in Tekken 8
Character Roster: Familiarize yourself with the full roster of characters in Tekken 8, as each character has unique moves and fighting styles.
Move Types: Understand the different types of moves:
Input Commands: Each move has specific input commands (e.g., directional inputs combined with buttons). Practice these to improve execution.
Combos: Learn basic and advanced combos for your character. Combos can maximize damage and create pressure on your opponent.
