General Tips for Boss Battles
When tackling the bosses in Cuphead, it's crucial to have a strategy that suits your playstyle. For example, aiming for specific mini-bosses during King Dice's fight can make the battle easier. Opt for numbers 2, 4, and 8, as they are considered the easiest [3:1]. Additionally, using Ms. Chalice can simplify certain phases due to her extended hitbox and unique parry system
[3:2]. However, some players find it challenging during the last phase with the cards
[3:4].
Weapon and Charm Recommendations
Choosing the right weapon setup is essential for success. The Crackshot from the DLC is recommended for its high damage output and automatic targeting [3:1]. Pairing this with the Heart Ring charm can be beneficial, especially in fights where parrying is frequent
[3:1]. For those looking to achieve S ranks, focusing on Expert mode strategies and weapon setups can help
[2:1].
Specific Boss Strategies
Difficulty Tier Insights
Players have varied opinions on the difficulty of bosses. Some find Chef Saltbaker not too challenging [1:1], while others struggle with Wally Warbles
[5:3]. Beppi the Clown is often noted as particularly difficult
[5:2]. Understanding these varied experiences can help set expectations and prepare strategies accordingly.

As most of you probably know by now, the Cuphead DLC is coming out at the end of the month. So to celebrate, I decided I’m going to be posting tips for each boss in the main game.
These tips will be based on my experiences on achieving the S rank for all bosses, including advice on what weapon setup to take and how to evade all the different attacks. I will be posting tips for one boss a day, every day, until the release of the DLC.
I’ll be listing the bosses in order, starting with The Root Pack. I’ll be posting every day, so stay tuned if there’s a boss you’re still working on and you need tips!
Can I have some Expert Mode Tips
All of my tips will be based on Expert mode and my personal strategies for achieving every S rank. I’ll be posting each boss in order, so keep an eye out for whichever bosses you need help with!
Well I gonna try S Rank but I lose my sanity
I have a world in cuphead and i do every boss A and i am at king dice and i have no clue of how to beat him
Get good at rolling the dice to the desired number, aim for hearts, avoid Mr chimes. Don't use chalice because it makes the last part much harder with parrying.
Did you actually try ms chalice in this fight? Using ms chalice actually makes king dice phase super easy cause there's an extended hitbox to the cards. And her parry system makes rolling the dice even easier
Yeah I beat king dice with her to get the chalice filter, but almost died in the last part with the cards. It's true the hitbox is bigger though. And her double jump gives your better mobility to reach the pink cards. So there's some positives
I don't have the dlc
I second the getting good at the dice rolling. I just beat this the other day and would always roll to get to the extra life or free space.
What worked for me is standing directly under the die and double tapping jump on the number before the number I wanted (depends on which way it was spinning). I hope that makes sense
Use a super art immediately after his card attack, it bugs the fight out and makes it easier
I made it! A+ thanks everyone
Thanks all for the tips i will try again
Try to aim for 2, 4, and 8 as the mini bosses, as I find those to be easiest. Avoid 1, 6, and 9, as those are the hardest. If you have the DLC, use the crackshot, it does more damage than the chaser, and aimbots any enemy on screen. Also, use the heart ring as your charm, since you’ll be parrying plenty throughout the entirety of the fight. Best of luck to you.
So I don’t think this is well known yet so yeah. The fight can be triggered again by standing in front of the middle tombstone and holding L+R (or LT+RT) for a bit, reactivating the tombstone. Currently it does not seems to work with keyboard control.
This is great because the achievements in this game are buggy. I beat the boss and didn’t get the achievement. I thought I’d have to play the whole game again.
I also killed a boss using Ms Chalice super and that didn’t give me the achievement. Plus it’s not tracking boss kills with her.
It took killing several bosses for me with the divine relic for paladin to pop, and many others seem buggy at the moment.
Lol I can't even beat that dumb dragon and a few islands 3 bosses so i have never fought king dice or the devil. I can't beat the game because I stink but at least I got the divine relic
Can confirm this works, I thought it was weird that there was a boss you couldn't rematch.
I assume the keyboard controls for doing this were either broken or they forgot to implement them, hopefully that will get patched in later.
It does work, trying to find a keyboard equivalent right now.
You Need Cursed Relic Then Talk To The Racers I Think From 1st To 3rd So For Example The First Guy Says "That Race Was Down Right Crazy!" So Now The First Grave You Press I Bottom Right
Oh Ik. I was talking about the way you’re able to fight them again lol
I Think You Do The Gravestone Puzzle Again
Yep, it's really working!
Thank you i was wondering
Beppi should be in very difficult I’ve died to him more times than Elon musks money
Idk I found him quite straightforward compared to the other bosses
For me Wally was hard as piss bc I’m at inkwell isle 2 and fighting Wally the me\an is shit hard
I think you should've put werner werman in quite challenging but nice tier list!
Thx
The drinks should be S-their hard. I always avoid them.
Finally someone I can finally agree with
Hey lads! So i’ve been grinding Cuphead for the first time, i’m finally on the boss for the devil and I have a few questions.
Whats the best loadout for this boss (shots, charm, super etc)?
What would you guys rate the difficulty of this boss compared to others?
What are just some general tips you guys have for actually beating this guy (i’m also playing through the game 100% legit so i’m not interested in any glitch methods)?
After getting past the first part of the fight it gets easier. The axe is easier to dodge by timing jumps, and the parry bombs you just gotta wait for the ear to show. On the next part i used spread and just crouch most of the time until the tile fell. But just spammed ex and shot up the whole time. Last phase is just jumping and parrying whenever you jump off the patform until he dies. He doesnt have heaps of health on that phase
Roundabout primary, spread secondary. Smoke dash for charm, super art 1 to kill purple henchmen in the third phase or super art 1 to avoid damage in the third phase. Use supers only in third phase, use a few EX attacks before it. He’s pretty hard.
Here’s a full YouTube video of mine that shows what to do through the whole fight. Hope this is helpful!
you made it look like a cake walk
It is when you learn the patterns. You’ll get there!
My top five hardest bosses
The dragon guy
The dice person
The bee
The robot
The devil(got kinda lucky honestly)
King dice and the devil took 5 of these hours btw
You actually beat it quicker than me and I've seen the game
Don’t worry, mines 45 😭
Nice pic, mate!
We shall not talk about me taking like 8 days straight just beating the main game, DLC, and refighting bosses for like 40 second intervals
Why are people struggling on this it’s SO EASY
Agreed. (oh boy, time to get downvoted..).

I need help too
Left down, left, and down on the gravestones
Pirouletta is super easy, actually. You can cheese her battle by using Smoke Bomb and dashing when she is about to run over you. No need to jump or anything.
How do u struggle with bon bon?
Djimmy and Baroness at the top???? wat
Why are some phases here but others aren't
Listen, the blue boss fight (i forgot his name) should be in the top of the list because it's mostly the first boss fight you encounter and because of that you don't know a lot of mechanics of the game.
For some reason Beppi almost made me quit Cuphead
My two major walls were Beppi the Clown and Cagney Carnation right before him.
Once I got through those, the rest of the bosses took much fewer tries by comparison.
The second time around it was the Egyptian airplane boss. Perhaps tied with the lady with the candy that turns into the castle chasing behind you at the end of the fight.
Chef Saltbaker S rank.
Wally Fucking Warbles
Dr. Kahl's Robot
Fucking hate that one
Cuphead boss guide
Key Considerations for Cuphead Boss Fights:
Learn Attack Patterns: Each boss has unique attack patterns. Spend time observing their moves to anticipate and dodge effectively.
Use the Right Weapons: Different bosses may be weak to specific weapons. Experiment with your loadout to find the most effective combinations (e.g., Spread for close range, Chaser for tracking).
Super Arts and Charms: Utilize Super Arts for powerful attacks and choose charms that complement your playstyle (e.g., Smoke Bomb for dodging).
Co-op Play: If possible, play with a friend. Co-op can make boss fights easier as you can revive each other and split attention.
Practice Makes Perfect: Don’t get discouraged by failures. Each attempt helps you learn and improve your strategy.
