What Redditors are Saying

Cuphead System Requirements

While the discussions provided do not directly address the system requirements for Cuphead, I can provide you with the necessary information based on available data up to October 2023. This will help ensure your computer meets the specifications needed to run the game smoothly.

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7
  • Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E8400
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: DirectX 10 compatible graphics card
  • DirectX: Version 9.0
  • Storage: 4 GB available space

These minimum requirements suggest that Cuphead is relatively lightweight and can run on older systems. The game does not demand high-end hardware, which makes it accessible to a wide range of players.

Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel i5 processor or equivalent
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: DirectX 11 compatible graphics card
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 4 GB available space

The recommended specifications are slightly higher but still quite modest by modern standards. Ensuring your system meets these recommendations will likely provide a smoother gameplay experience, especially during more graphically intense moments in the game.

Given the game's unique hand-drawn art style and its 1930s cartoon aesthetic, it is designed to be visually appealing without requiring cutting-edge technology. If you're considering playing Cuphead, make sure your system aligns with at least the minimum requirements to avoid any performance issues.

Just picked up the game yesterday, at this rate probably won’t even get 300% within the current year

It took me 17 hours for playstation but that's because I had previous experience on nintendo. On nintendo I think it took me about 30-40 hours

Wasn’t sure I would be able to 100% this game but I’m glad I tried and I’m very happy I accomplished my goal

Love the 1930s look and sound. Such a memorable game

Thanks! This was my death count for the base game on Normal and Expert modes. The DLC added maybe a hundred or so

Getting the achievements is tough overall but the biggest challenge in the game is S ranking levels on Expert difficulty. Fortunately there are only two achievements for that and you only need to S rank two stages of your choice (base game + DLC)

Nice to see someone actually 100% it

Don't know if you were around one of these subreddits a month or so ago a guy posted their 100% for cuphead but he refused to do the pacifist achievemenr and noone would let him get away with it.

Haha that’s nuts. It’s not even that hard to get 😂. There are a bunch of achievements in the game that I found much more challenging so I wonder why that person wouldn’t go for it

I think I would rate it 8/10 in terms of difficulty. There’s a bit of a learning curve and some fights on Expert difficulty have so many objects on screen 😮‍💨

This game was so good, I've personally never played a game that has all good trophies, outside of some "beat the game, get the plat" stuff. The only so-so trophy for me was pacifist.

Not nearly as difficult as expected, the hardest stuff for me was actually pacifist runs, expert wasn't much more challenging then normal since I was used to all the bosses the second time around.

Congrats! I’m trying now but for some reason i’m really struggling with the difficulty, and this is coming from someone who has beat every souls game and loved hard games, any tips?

1 upvotes on reddit
WhosoeverPSN · OP · 5 months ago

Thanks! Man, the best tips I have is to do things at a pace you enjoy. I took about a 7 month break after beating it on normal before I did my expert runs, and only did a boss every day or two. Walk away for about 5 minutes, come back, and you will usually perform better.

I loved the game a BUNCH which made it more bearable.

Facts, since there is no difference between the games, the advance the switch has is portability

And the game is so simple that the Switch can’t really fuck it up the way it does with some other cross platforms

And yes, I am a Switch player, I know from personal experience how some games are NOT meant for it

None. They are the same. Pc was legacy but cuohead îs made to be played with a controler so none of them have an advantage

72 upvotes on reddit
Mavmichael005 · OP · 3 years ago

Yeah I figured since there is literally no difference in any version, this would be more a personal preference but again they are all the same

Ig the only real advantage is having it on the switch so it’s can be played anywhere but you could also just get a laptop

[Cuphead] Platinum 30

Cuphead is a game simply unique in the industry; the graphics, the bosses, the characters are all very memorable. It has heavyweight trophies like Zulu P-26 or Pacifist, but most test your skill. The expert playthrough burned me out because of the bird, the devil, and Dr. Kahl, but even though I had a tough time, I finally got it. And what a satisfaction!

What's the optimal controller setup for playing the game?

Posted by Sheeedo_ · in r/Cuphead · 1 year ago

Hello there. So I finally was able to play the game for the very first time. I bought the game on Steam and at first thought to play with a keyboard, big mistake. I usually play games with a controller. Now i'll be using a ps4 controller, but what's the optimal controller setup for when playing this game? there probably isn't an optimal setup, i understand it's a matter of preference, but i just need some ideas. thanks!

Honestly I think the basic controls suffice. Maybe switch the triggers to the ones near the back, but otherwise they are good. It's important to note that the game controls simular to a Super Nintendo game, and not at all like a modern one, so it uses more buttons than triggers. A lot of people remap the controls to make one of the triggers shoot, which I never personally got. If you like that control style, more power to you.

2 upvotes on reddit
GioTGM · 1 year ago

I used to have a different controller layout, but I just learned to leave most of my controls to default & change the Shoot button to R2.

1 upvotes on reddit
fenomozo · 1 year ago

To me, the only noteworthy modification is dashing with R1 because is really hard dashing with a face button while also shooting with a face button.

EX-shot: Y

Lock: Right trigger (RT) but never use

Switch Weapon: Left trigger (LT)

Dash: X

Jump: A

Movin; Left stick

I just wanted to keep holding the mic button for a very long time :0

Is Cuphead really as hard as people say?

Posted by d-th0r · in r/gaming · 6 years ago

It's only as hard as you make it. Stay stubborn, and try to brute force a fight with a loadout that's not designed for it? You're gonna get your ass kicked again and again and again. Pick a loadout actually designed to take advantage of the fight? You'll blow right through it.

Yes, that means there's a lot of trial and error involved. You have to see the fight to know what's going on, learn the patterns, and learn the weapons and skills that will take advantage of it. But stay flexible, pay attention to the boss tells, and you'll find yourself getting further and further with each death.

>I recently saw that someone said it makes Dark Souls feel like a kids game.

That's a bit of an overstatement, but it is tough... but very fair.

>Is it still fun?

Oh, hell yeah!

Like I said, it's hard, but fair. You learn the patterns, add in a dash of thumb-joint dexterity, and everything is beatable.

How replayable is Cuphead?

The game has so much love and care put into it that I always find myself coming back to play it again. After doing everything to complete the game like I have, you could challenge yourself by limiting your powers, like not using supers or charms or using the most inconvenient weapon for a boss to make it more challenging. Basically, there is a lot of replayability if you can come up with new and interesting ways to play the game.

1 upvotes on reddit
R-R-Harv · 6 years ago

It doesn't have a "new game+" feature but once you beat the base game there are still plenty of things to do:

Beat bosses on the expert mode unlocked after beating the main game

S Rank bosses and P Rank Run 'n' Guns

Unlock all the achievements

Still rage at the game

Trust me when I say if you want to S-Rank every boss it will take a LONG time. I have it on PC and have 150 hours on it but still haven't S-Ranked 4 of the bosses. Speaking since most $60.00 games I buy tend to be 200 hours or less (there are exceptions like SSBU and Splatoon 2) paying $20.00 for 150 is a steal.

2 upvotes on reddit
PFFFT_Fart_Noise · 6 years ago

Yeah if you want to really challenge yourself you can get a lot of the time out of this game. I think even if you only do one playthrough it's still well worth the 20 bucks. The animation and music are really really good and it's a refreshing change of pace. Dance with the devil

Cuphead system requirements

Cuphead System Requirements

Here are the minimum and recommended system requirements for playing Cuphead on PC:

Minimum Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7 or higher
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600/9600 or ATI/AMD Radeon HD 2600/3600
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Storage: 4 GB available space

Recommended Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 or equivalent
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or ATI Radeon HD 6850 with 768MB+ of VRAM (DirectX 11 compatible)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 4 GB available space

Key Considerations:

  • Performance: Ensure your system meets or exceeds the recommended requirements for optimal performance and visual quality.
  • Graphics Card: A dedicated graphics card will significantly enhance your gaming experience compared to integrated graphics.
  • Updates: Keep your graphics drivers updated to avoid compatibility issues.

Recommendation: If you're unsure about your system's capabilities, consider running a system check or using a tool like Steam's built-in hardware survey to see how your setup compares to the requirements. This will help you determine if you need to upgrade any components before playing Cuphead.
