Exploration and Quests
When exploring Hogwarts and its surroundings, take your time to investigate every nook and cranny. The game is rich with hidden secrets, collectibles, and side quests that can enhance your experience and provide valuable rewards. Engaging in side quests can also offer unique storylines and character interactions that enrich the overall narrative.
Combat Strategy
Mastering combat is essential for progressing through Hogwarts Legacy. Focus on learning different spells and how they can be combined effectively during battles. Experiment with various spell combinations to find what works best against different types of enemies. Additionally, pay attention to your surroundings during fights; using environmental elements to your advantage can turn the tide in challenging encounters.
Character Development
As you progress, you'll have opportunities to develop your character's skills and abilities. Make sure to invest points wisely based on your preferred playstyle. Whether you favor stealth, combat, or exploration, tailoring your character’s development to suit your strengths will make gameplay more enjoyable and effective.
Resource Management
Managing resources like potions and magical items is crucial. Stock up on healing potions and other consumables whenever possible, as they can be lifesavers during difficult battles. Keep an eye on your inventory and ensure you have a balanced selection of items to handle various situations.
Game Settings and Performance
If you're experiencing technical issues with Hogwarts Legacy, such as the game not launching, try verifying the game files if you're playing on Steam [3:4]. Ensure your system meets the game's requirements and consider updating your drivers or checking for conflicting software, such as antivirus programs
[3:8].
These tips should help enhance your gameplay experience in Hogwarts Legacy, making your journey through the wizarding world both exciting and rewarding.
i started playing ana a few weeks ago, liked her character so much i even made sure to get her mythic and galactic weapon, i feel like i can do just fine on healing, damage, cd management but there’s ONE thing i still don’t know how to do properly, nano.
i have a lot of difficulty trying to understand who and when to nano someone, i never know if i should nano the tank, the dps or even the supports, help me please? :(
Welcome! If you're JUST getting started, you should have no issue with enabling the "Nano Target Confirmation" setting specific to Ana. I couldn't adapt myself but I know it's made a huge positive difference for majority of players. Try it out and let us all know your experience!
oh i’m so sorry!!! i tweeted this out of desperate measures but ill edit it as soon as i can! thank you for the tip and the reminder <3
I suppose I didn't really answer your question though. Nano definitely requires communication for maximum effectiveness, so keep a close eye on DPS that could benefit from it, but DO NOT be afraid to just use it to save someone. Keeping someone alive after the enemy team spent all their cooldowns to eliminate them will often be the difference between a lost and won fight.
Use nano on the person who will do the most dmg/win u the fight, this can be a dva diving backline, a genji using blade or situationally ur other support/teammates to keep them alive during the fight if it will ensure u win it. As for when, look for when someone is making a big play (like the previous examples) or when their health gets critical. Hope this helps!:)
i second this; nanoing a crit tank for the health boost to keep them alive and win the fight is so so so worth it, even if they don’t have ult or anything!!
make sure to watch your teammate’s ult charge as well and coordinate with them to nano their ult. some ults don’t get a boost from nano, like dva bomb and i think hanzo’s dragons (blanking on the name LOL) so if you nano them it would mainly be to save them with the hp boost or get a lot of damage out without ult!!
So annoying when a dva uses bomb after I nano them lol
I always check in game stats, who’s performing. If you really want to use nano effectively. The. Nano is very situational. Either I check stats, who’s putting in damage well or pair it with their ult, up untill trying to keep your mate alive.
Oo i getchu on that, its hard to tell sometimes.
Just remember not to hold onto your ult forever ! And your ult enables your target to get more kills or survive , so look for someone who already has ult or (preferably tank about to die) someone who's about to die!
You can even do the voice command to tell your team you have nano and see who responds.
I also ult my other support if a team fight is going on so we can survive and heal our team through the rough of it.
Im still learning ana too! Good luck! Just keep playing and I feel you'll get it sooner or later hope this helps!
it's come to my attention that reddit is compressing uploads? so here are the same uploaded to imgur, enjoy!

mine is doing this too!!
even redownloaded the whole game and it’s still broken
I read that there is a file missing so maybe redownload?
I did it immediately after this message appeared, but nothing helped
Oh i dont know then sorry!
Try verifying files assuming this is through steam. Restart system after (restart not shutdown)
yeap, that still doesn't work. Strangely enough, many people with a similar problem had an antivirus installed that was in conflict with the file, but even here it passed by. I checked everything, replaced the antivirus, and added everything I could to the exceptions. The problem still remains the same.
In general, I read that the only working way is to launch the console from steam, and download the game files from there before the summer 2024 update. Cause then they added this plugin, without which the game does not work. The Win 11 update also affects it (but in my opinion this is not the main problem, since there is a fix) I haven't tried it yet, I'll try to do it all later
In mint condition. Barely used with no scratches Selling for 3000+shipping Also ok to trade it for some other games. Mainly looking for these only- Mariokart 8 deluxe, Switch sports, Pokemon violet, Pokemon snap, Pokmon diamond and pokemon sword
It's selling brand-spanking-new for 3149 on Amazon lol
Flipkart has it for 2.9k
2600 for brand new at sheenu game centre.
If you don't mind buying digital, its dirt cheap there too
Hi All,
Recently a month and half ago purchased ps5, my first gaming console purchase, never gamed before. So don't have much info how the sale seasons work. Currently I can see Hogwarts legacy game is at good discount of 80% in ps store. Is it good time to buy or can drop further say in black friday sales ? Recently I saw it was at 75% discount when I purchased the console now at 80%. Ofcourse people will say what difference does 5% make. Yes not much. But just wanted an opinion whether further discount can be expected or this will be the lowest.. As I had already made a mistake when I bought Arkham knight separately and Arkham collection (Arkham Asylum+ Arkham City) separately instead of a common bundle as I got confused by the description what they were offering. Anyways ended up spending an additional Rs 350 on that game bundle when I could have the same bundle for cheaper. So yeah don't unnecessarily want to overspend on Hogwarts if it is expected to be cheaper sooner than later. PS : not planning to have Ps+ subscription for now or anytime soon.
Idts it will be any cheaper than this and if you are fan of harry potter then go for it otherwise you'll get bored very soon (tried and tested thats why letting you know)
Oopsie i bought it :D. Thanks for inputs
Don't buy it.
You can save your money. I am a harry potter fan still I found the game incredibly boring.
Congratulations on the plat! ☺️
This game has 46 trophies: 28 bronze, 15 silver, 2 gold, and a platinum.
They are easy (3/10) and take 60 - 80 hours to complete.
Price: $11.99 (on sale, regularly $59.99)
Other region prices, wishlist, or buy | Trophy guides: PSNP, PS3T, Pyx
I am a bot. More info about me
Yes, the Dark Arts Arena alone is worth it (every bit of free XP counts when OWLs are close) and the drip is nice. Bought the game a few days ago, currently doing my second playthrough, would recommend the DLCs.
Oh wow, you played through it fast!
Wish my uni schedule would allow such xd
Reading comments here, if the dlc are just cosmetics and no actually new feature or spell, sounds pointless
if i remember right theyre just cosmetic items, you can look them up online to see if you like them and are willing to pay for them
The only issue I've had looking stuff up online is trying to sort past all the "cancelled dlc" post xd
Ya there is no dlc for this game. Those deluxe packs are just some cosmetic items which...unless you think you're going to wear them all game, not worth 2 dollars in my opinion. There's much better and cooler cosmetics as you progress through the game
They are just cosmetics. Pretty neat ones though for a couple of bucks. You did get one extra quest out of it as well.
That seems alright given it's basically the price of tax rn xd
They're cosmetic items, I think but it's only a $2 difference, so might as well, right?
Yeah, for that cheap it’s practically free
Especially if the entire thing is gonna cost you 14 bucks. You’re getting an amazing deal.
Cool
- Side quests missions only available after curfew. Teachers and prefects patrol the hallways, dungeons, and the parc...You get detected by a prefect, but the student happens to be one of those who asked for your help earlier during the game. If you completed his quest, he would let you go without alerting the castle. On the contrary, if you still haven't completed the quest, chose to keep the item for yourself, or have been greedy somehow... You'll get 'captured' and lose points for your house. Points you need to unlock rare items/gear, upgrade spells, and the duration of the potions.
- The common room: It could have been the only place you are allowed to be after the curfew, the HQ where you can prepare for quests, receive quests from other students, save the game by interacting with your bed, store your item excess in the closet or trunk, change gear, and be safe from any attack (I like when -in a game- I narrowly escape from trouble or an enemy at the last second, by getting in a place I can’t be reached and look at him raging like in Dying light).
- Great hall: A place where you can restore your health bar and ancient magic without wasting your potions (same for the kitchens, Zonko, and food you find in the common room).
- Central hall: An in-game hub where you can interact with students from other houses, trade, challenge, or receive quests from...Instead of adding a multiplayer mode that would probably affect graphics and other parameters of the game (I'm not a developer, I'm just assuming, despite its something I expected nowadays consoles to be able to run), the great hall could be the place you must often visit to take part in events and other stuff the developers would regularly/periodically add to the game to keep the postgame relevant until the next game.
- Library: the place you must visit and read books (interact with one to have a page in your inventory) and get the information you’ll need to learn a spell, potion’s recipe, information to pass classes and find helpful clues to prepare quests or hunt beasts. Some books would require a nocturnal infiltration into the restricted session or somewhere else in the castle, like the Headmaster's private library in the tower.
- Social interactions: Helping other students should have filled some kind of bar that once it reaches a certain level, those students could become available to be recruited (using that owl in your dorm) to help you in complicated quests, duels, … If you help more than one student from another house, you will receive the password to get inside another common room. Hence, unlocking another safe base (handy in case you find yourself trapped by night, and too far from your own house), with unique content you can’t receive if you stick to your house. In GTA, characters call you just to hang out…They could have done that in Hogwarts Legacy, so instead of choosing the game’s difficulty, let us decide while playing. I’ll explain…If you choose to be a loner, the game will be difficult because you’ll have to face too many enemies alone, lack of resources, etc... If you choose socializing, students would tag along to help, give you valuable resources, access to their common rooms, and other secret passages to dodge patrols, etc...
- We could have been asked to find and observe magical beasts for the care of the magical creature class. Then, pass a quiz before being allowed to capture a beast…Until completing a bestiary.
- Classes: Each lesson consists of a mini-game related to the content of the lesson, tasks, and a quiz, which, once passed, gives access to a bonus (spell, plant, potion, beast). A clock to keep track of the time and respect the lesson times so as not to lose points or be chased by Hogwarts staff. Something like a wanted system in Red Dead Redemption... Not only could courses have been compulsory to level up your character, but provided content to enrich the lore of HP’s universe as well. Because I don't think I've learned anything not already in the books, movies, or fandomwiki.
- Hogsmeade: They should have thought about making each shop relevant. Growing plants, ingredients, and brewing potions in the room of requirement is great, but it made Hogsmeade irrelevant the moment I could afford to buy pots…Which happened very fast.
- Morality system: It’s incoherent that we could break into teachers’ offices, quarters, people’s houses, and loot their stuff with no consequences at all (I won’t bring up the unforgivable curse who are fine to use in Hogwarts Legacy). There should be a point when people would start 'hunting' or 'watching' you do bad actions without wearing a mask, which would give some importance to the gear you find in the game or buy in shops.
- Clothes: The choice of your clothes and gear could be used proficiently in the game. Wearing a school uniform in Hogsmeade would raise suspicions if you visit Hogsmeade during class hours or at night. Students from other houses would also be curious if they see you wandering around or inside their common house while not sporting their colors.
- After some time, I grew tired of repeatedly fighting spiders to -at the end- come out of the underground with a pair of gloves. The rewards should have been something worthy of the time…Maybe they should have taken inspiration from Assassin’s Creed, where you discover ancient histories. It could have been histories about ancient wizards and events we never heard of.
- Weather: I think it would be nice if the game could either let you choose the weather or divide the map into different regions with their own climate, rather than link it to where you are in the plot, not only for aesthetics, but also because it opens the way to game mechanics. Many games force you to pay attention to what clothes you are wearing. Example: If you want to adventure in cold/snowy areas of the game (let's say, to fight and collect items from a mountain troll that only lives there), you must be dressed accordingly so as not to affect your stamina and so on...Another example, riding a broom would be too complicated in those zones because of the winds or visibility, so it would force mastering a winged beast to progress in your exploration.
- Progressive difficulty: Regardless of your character level, I would like the game difficulty to be progressive...Very easy, the closer you are to Hogwarts. Then, it would start increasing the further you explore until it becomes 'Grand Sorcerer, Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, and recipient of the Order of Merlin, First Class' level in areas in the map where you'll find no shelter or resources but those you'd bring with you from the castle. Places where you'd find the most dangerous beasts (Werewolves, Dragons, dementors, manticores, vampires?) and criminals of the game, with the rewards that let you reach the 100% trophy instead of completing Merlin trials.
- Let's be crazy: An online mode accessible after completing the main game, where you can start a good or evil guild, a personalized HQ that can be invaded by real enemy players, and beat online special events...Hunt players who made bad moral choices or be chased by them...Characters that choose to specialize in a branch of magic during their main game progression, which would make you think wisely while spending the mission points (House points?) on skills. HQs built in the dangerous areas of the map where you'd be 'safe' from other guilds, but not from the AI-driven characters there? Broom racing? Or just hanging out doing stuff with friends?
- Reading newspapers and overhearing conversations offline would randoñly inform you about what other players are doing in their sessions offline and online, like in the games, in which at the end of an episode, you get a page where they show you the percentage of players that made the same choices as you in the world and among your friends that play the game.
Honestly, the right owners have the money, Harry Potter has a fan base that will massively buy the game, the technology exists, and they can draw inspiration from several games that came out like 15 years ago on PlayStation 3. They can really do a game that would crush all the records and not need a sequel before a very long time.
Would love more cutscenes showing student life, mc walking down the halls talking to characters, talking during the quidditch games, in the Great hall yanno?
Variations in uniforms/student sizes would be cool too, or at least make it so each year is different enough yanno
>save the game by interacting with your bed
Absolutely not. The game must have a save-anywhere system.
Rest of what you said sounds fine.
How about an autosave mechanic that brings you back where you left the game, but interacting with your bed lets you save the game in a specific moment in case you mess up things later and want to go back to a specific moment?
If you want to add some kind of mechanic for saving when you interact with a bed on top of the same save-anywhere system that HL 1 already has, go for it.
But the save-anywhere system is absolutely non-negotiable.
Make the choices give consequwnces and also nightime activities bring consequences
I would also like to be able to sit on the furniture and interact more with the environment overall.
I’d also like to see the NPC’s in different outfits throughout the game. I feel awkward going on side missions with other students wearing their full normal hogwarts uniforms while i’m wearing colorful robes.
I’d like to see other students wearing similar kinds of different house robes like the ones we receive and wear more relaxed clothing when in their common room, outdoors, in hogsmeade, or in missions outside of the school (why is sebastian visiting home wearing his full school uniform like he’s Hermione Granger?)
I’d even like their outfits to change depending on the season/weather. more jumpers in autumn, gloves and scarves in the winter, hoods and hats on during spring rain, lighter clothing in the spring and summer, etc
If you've played Hogwarts Legacy, you will probably realize that (despite the map only indicating three entrance/exit points to the castle) there are actually MANY entrances.
I figured I'd outline/analyze all the ones I found on my first playthrough. I'll tell you which ways are the fastest (other than floo powder, of course) to get to which places. Please let me know if you have discovered any more!!
This entrance is marked on the in-game map. You can travel through the clock tower to reach it.
I'm pretty sure that this is the fastest way to get to the Gryffindor common room.
This entrance is marked on the in-game map. This is one of the fastest ways to get to the greenhouses.
This entrance is marked on the in-game map. Use this entrance if you're heading to charms class, the astronomy tower, or defense against dark arts class.
As far as I'm aware, if you're arriving at the castle from a journey and you want to enter through this entrance, then you'll need to own a flying mount. You can still reach this entrance by entering the castle from a different point, then exiting here.
I have not played as a Ravenclaw (I am Slytherin) but this seems like the fastest way to the Ravenclaw common room.
This is the same situation as the North Quad Hall entrance, so you'll need a flying mount if you want to seamlessly approach it from the outside of the castle.
Pretty sure this is the fastest route to the Hufflepuff common room.
If you're approaching the castle, then there are three ways to reach this entrance:
This is another one of the fastest ways to reach the greenhouses. The ways of reaching this entrance are the exact same as the Entrance Hall.
This one is directly above the Gryffindor Lower Hallway Entrance. Instead of going through the clock tower, climb up the stairs until you reach the top, then head down the suspended hall that leads to the hospital wing.
Fun fact: this is one of two entrances that I know do NOT interrupt you with a loading screen. The other being the Headmaster's Office Entrance.
>!Headmaster's Office Entrance!<
>!Just like the Hospital Wing Entrance, you can seamlessly enter the castle via this door. However, you won't be able to use this entrance until very late in your playthrough.!<
>!I actually entered the office from the inside wayyyy too early on in my playthrough, and I'm kind of mad at the game for letting me because apparently my character wasn't supposed to know the password (but didn't know that at the time).!<
>!Honeydukes Secret Passage!<
>!This is not really practical after the side quest that involves it, but it's neat. It does take you straight to the Grand Staircase, so you might enjoy using it to travel from Hogsmeade to Hogwarts once in a while.!<
>!Hidden Herbology Corridor!<
>!This does take you directly into the greenhouses, but I don't really like using it. The Viaduct Entrance and Bell Tower Entrance are much faster methods.!<
Edit: I'll put any additional entrances pointed out in the comments below!!
This is so cool! I just looked up a video of it, thank you u/joran26 for pointing this out.
Update 2: there may be a way to enter the charms classroom from the roof, but I spend a decent five minutes trying to do it about a week ago. I just saw a comment on another post saying it's possible, so I'll try again later.
Update 3: seems like the charms classroom entrance is impossible. I have tried many different ways of landing there, and none of them work.
Come on, if youre if a HP fan you're probably disappointed their aren't MORE secret entrances to Hogwarts......
Not really? Honestly I'm not even sure that I found them all. After 20 minutes of googling, I can't really find other posts like this.
Ravenclaw common room has a landing pad!
... huh. I'm about to look this up on YouTube lol
Yeah it only works if you're a ravenclaw and only on the very tip of the roof over the common room, but it does work
OP you can’t enter the charms classroom from the roof that’s a no takeoff/landing zone just like if you were inside the castle. I’ve tried it a few times.
Thanks!!! I forgot to update the post but yeah I tried it again for like an hour last night from different points and I realized it's just not possible.
It used to be possible, back when the game first came out, but for some reason they made it impossible.
Do you not consider the grounds of Hogwarts to be part of the Castle?
I think OP means ways to enter the the castle itself and being inside of it rather then entering the land that it’s built on.
I do, but I should have specified that I'm talking about the interior as well as outside areas that aren't separated from the interior by loading screens.
