TL;DR You can check your T-Mobile data usage through the T-Mobile app, by logging into your account online, or via settings on your device.
Using the T-Mobile App and Website
The T-Mobile app is a convenient way to check your data usage. Navigate to the "Account" tab, select "plan and usage details," and then "Usage." You can view a graph showing your data usage over the past few months [1:1]. Alternatively, you can log in to your T-Mobile ID account at my.t-mobile.com and select "usage" from the menu bar to view your data usage
[1:2].
Checking Data Usage on Test Drive
For users participating in T-Mobile's Network Test Drive, checking data usage can be done by going to "Settings > Cellular > Test Drive" on your device. This section should display your combined data usage, excluding any speed tests that are not counted against your data [4:1]. It may take a few days for the usage data to update accurately
[4:2].
Tracking Data Usage on Your Device
If you're using an eSIM for the Test Drive, ensure it's set as the primary data line to view usage under cellular settings [3:1]
[3:2]. Creating a my T-Mobile account with the number associated with your Test Drive can also allow you to check data usage online
[3:3]
[3:4].
Third-Party Apps for Detailed Tracking
For detailed tracking of data usage by apps, consider using third-party apps like Glasswire, which offers real-time monitoring and detailed graphs [5:2]
[5:4]. Other options include AdGuard, which provides insights into URLs accessed by apps and allows restrictions on certain functions
[5:3]. These tools can help ensure you're aware of how much data each app is consuming.
Just curious to see my usage
Q 13 on T-Mobile Home Internet (reddit) FAQs
Q: Where do i view my data usage?
A: Log in to your T-mobile ID account at https://my.t-mobile.com and select usage on the menu bar.
oh & read the informational statement following Q 13 😂
Your usage should show up on your bill. That’s where I see mine…
The TMobile app shows it. Under the Account tab and “plan and usage details” then “Usage” If you then “check usage details” it will show a graph with the past few months.
To add to this. Click the down arrow and it will show by line, if you are interested in just the tmhi line.
Thanks. I only have TMHI on my TMobile account (still have Sprint for the phones)
Anyone know?

The my.hotspot link thing says I've used 2 GB but I have streamed a bunch of shows and movies through this thing so I know that's wrong.
Takes a few hours to update usage , so checking periodically while it’s being used isn’t accurate . Best way to check is to wait until you haven’t used it like after you wake up and just turn it on and check before you use it and it should have updated by then
Is there a way to check the data usage on the eSIM Test Drive as reported by T-Mobile? I tried using #WEB# and it says request could not be completed.
If you have it set as your primary data sim, under cellular settings it’ll show you the data usage.
You can also create a my T-Mobile account with the number and check on the site
It only shows the per app usage. Is that all it should show?
It’ll be between the data roaming toggle, and carrier services.
Settings, cellular, click on the T-Mobile sim, and it should show usage there. Just checked on mine. But, it has to be set as the primary data line to see it there.
Create a my T-Mobile account online using the number. If it asks for a pin, call in to get that reset and they’ll confirm by sending you a text. Then you can proceed with creating your account and checking data usage
I set up Test Drive a few days ago on my iPhone 11 through eSIM. My primary line is ATT. The setup was fast and flawless. When I wanted to check how much data my trial was using, things ran into a ditch.
I tried to create a TMUS account using their number. It required an in-store PIN. I called support, and was put in a 2-hour queue, so I hung up.
I asked TMUS chat support. CS agent referred me to an irrelevant website then dipped out on me while I was browsing it. I tried tweeting TMUS support; they ignored me. I DM'd TMUS support and got one reply: the iOS app shows how much data you've used.
Except it doesn't. It shows how many days are left in your trial. After a couple rounds with a very nice support agent over Twitter DM, she offered to manually check data usage for me.
That's great, but ...
Try dialing #226# from the e sim number. Might work
#226# is for balance but I did try it anyhow and it didn’t work.
Oh crap yea that is balance. Sorry. #web# is the one. My bad.
I'm into my third day of using the T-Mobile Network Test Drive on my Verizon iPhone 12 Pro Max via eSIM. So far, the only way I've been able to determine my data usage from the 30GB bucket of free data is by adding up the usage totals on an app-by-app basis in the Cellular section of Settings. This is getting tedious. Is there an easier way to keep up with data usage? Plus, I've also seen and read where T-Mo does not count speed tests against one's data use, but that information goes back to 2014, so I don't know if it still applies.
I’d give it a few more days. I know as frustrating as it is but my #WEB# on Test Drive just started to work yesterday for me which was day 9 in the trial.
You should see a "Usage" section if you go to Settings > Cellular > Test Drive, it'll show your combined data usage in there.
That data comes from T-Mobile, so it won't count the excluded speedtest data. As for that itself, T-Mobile does exclude Ookla speedtests - I've heard that they exclude the FCC speedtest app as well, but haven't tested it myself.
Title, I feel like more data is being used up than necessary.
Comes with every device, check your data usage, by going over to Settings > Network & Internet > Data usage
Incase you need a 3rd party app - Glasswire is a great solution as it offers real time monitoring and detailed graphs
Thanks! I couldn't find it on my device.
I use AdGuard for this purpose as well. It may not be as straightforward as actual tracking apps, but AdGuard also gives you details of what URL or domain an App tried to access and how many times. You can also restrict apps from using certain functions or block domains, etc. Well it's a firewall, dns, vpn (with AdGuard VPN). All in one solution.
go for glasswire.... not only is it good at what you want to do but now all it's feature is completely free...
Glasswire. Been using it for 2 years now
You can track your data usage on Android using Check Internet Data Usage app. This app Shows data consumption for each app individually. You can also set a plan to limit data usage on your Android.
I’m traveling and got a text saying that I have 5gb/ month of high speed data on T-Mobile + unlimited texts. The thing is that I Have an iPhone and I use iMessage a lot. I’m not sure if that counts as a text or if it’s using the 5GB and I would like to see how much of the 5 gigs I’ve used but I’m not sure where I could see that.
The app and site won’t tell you how much roaming data you’ve used for the cycle.
I used data usage in settings to see roaming usage. I also turned off HD streaming so my data isn’t burned so quickly.
Edit: I have a family member that’s been traveling and decided to check the app for usage. If you filter to the specific line, you’ll see international data!
iMessage will always use data, so cellular or WiFi. That should be negligible though.
And they don't separate out domestic data and roaming data. It's all showed in one bucket. You kinda have to know what you started out with.
Does #932# work?
If you're Roaming data and messages will still be free, on network calling is what you want to worry about. You will also get SMS messages.
Karnaj
If you go into your settings and select cellular it should give you a breakdown of all data usage for the current billing cycle and you can also select to view the previous billing cycle. By selecting Usage it will give you a breakdown of what you have available to you and when your billing cycle ends. Hope this helps some.
Tmobile keeps cutting and cutting and cutting everything from their apps and website. A few months ago I posted asking the impossible question of how to check my minutes remaining but nothing worked at the time. But I distinctly remember it showing my data usage. But this has also since disappeared. I already tried customer service but they were useless as always. Does anyone know how I can still check my balance?
For data usage, open the phone app and dial #932# which is #WEB#
Other short codes here: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/plans-features/self-service-short-codes
Nope. There are no short codes that actually work. Just says "System Unavailable". Unfortunately if it were that easy (like it should be) I wouldn't be here.
Edit: Even when I call customer service they tell me I have 5.12GB of "Unlimited Data" (sounds like a limit to me) and that I've used 0MB. I know this is false. And I know they still count my usage despite it sounding like they don't.
That’s a you problem, I’d file a ticket with care via T-Force. I use that code with customers all the time and it works fine.
Was your phone purchased via T-Mobile or unlocked, Or was it a BYOD from another carrier? (Also, what phone model?)
Data is still showing the same as always in my prepaid account.
Title asks it. How do i check data usage with tmobile test drive. Also, are ookla speed tests still free? Do they not count torwards the limit? I can't create a my tmobile account so I can't check it there. Anyway to check my data usage besides the meter on my phone?
Okay, for anyone reading this here's what I did. Your email you get after you activate your test drive should say at the very bottom your pin number is. If it has it you're good to go. If not, you'll need to call tmobile prepaid support and give them your test drive number and ask them to change the pin. You might have to wait a few hours after that before it takes effect. Then you can successfully create a prepaid tmobile account and check your data usage there.
You can login to the hot-spot by going to 192.168.0.1 or something similar, check the box for exact info.
Edit: Speed tests should count against your data, not 100% sure.
Sounds like OP is using the esim option on iPhone for the test drive.
Got it. I am just finishing up my test drive, I got the hotspot.
#WEB# if it works for you, if you’re using the eSIM one.
I tried that it errors out.
Hey US Mobile,
I recently ported a second line over to my account. I've been using the data (ran a few speedtests and browsed), but the usage is not reflected on the website or the app, even after 24 hours. I see text usage however.
I chatted with customer service online but was given some run around answers telling me to log out and log back in. It did not solve the issue I'm facing.
Can someone please assist?
It’s most likely because of a delay in the CDR files from our parent carrier. Drop me a message with your details, and if it ends up taking longer, we’ll figure something out.
Same thing happened to me. Took several days.
Took mine 36 hours to start showing in the app.
I just ported over a line to US mobile last night (it’s been about 24 hours). I’m currently on the Dark Star unlimited plan and have been using data, but, I’m not seeing any gb’s reflected on the dashboard? Does it usually take some time to see that info for new subscribers? I’m just curious to see how many GB’s I’m using in a day. Any tips would be appreciated!
It usually isn’t instant but try refreshing the app or restart it and normally it will update within the same day or 12-24hrs.
How long did it take you to port into dark star? I’m in the middle of transferring my number and hasn’t fully gone through yet and has been 23 hours so far, if it took more that a day for you then it might just be usmobile taking forever on the porting process.
Mine took 2+ day's, but there was some slight delay, because of something on MY end, I ported from AT&T moved two lines to Dark Star Unlimited, and 1 line to lightspeed also on Dark star network, my samsung watch ultra sameday, the two phones took 48+ hours because USM's porting partner's required a billing pin from at&t which isn't called a billing pin at AT&T it's called a passcode, so there was lots of confusion even when talking to the at&t rep.
After speaking with the AT&T rep about a billing pin, she came to the conclusion it was probably more than likely the passcode (Which it was) but for some reason it was bugging out on AT&T's side and not working on USM's Porting partner's side, i had her re-create my passcode to 4 digits and made sure it was working on her end, and after i did that, they were able to proceed, on USM's Porting partner's side.
But my phone was ALSO previously Carrier locked to AT&T and i'm sure THAT ALSO had something to do with it, and it's a samsung device (Fold 6), in the end they were able to get it all done support was absolutely amazing for me, Long process but I was willing if they were, for the price, and I'm unbelievably happier here, I actually get better Service here on Dark Star then i did with AT&T directly and the video quality is also better!!! SOOO MUCH better here! the only thing that i could complain about so far.
Is this, I'm a truck driver OTR, so I travel all 48 states, frequently, so service jumps around a bunch, But something i've noticed, when on a phone call for extended periods of time, the call will go robotic even when i have 5g FULL bar's and my buddy that i talk to will tell me "What did you say you went all robotic" And i look at my service and it's 5g Full bar's but it doesn't last long it's like a few seconds 2 max, and goes away, other than that amazing it's amazing, and I use the hotspot for my laptop for browsing, and gaming, and the latency on dark star is better than my T-Mobile Home internet i have in the truck. I use the home internet for Intense downloading and Dark Star for just playing games like Overwatch 2 for the latency response is so good.
Hopefully your port happens soon!
I had to give the 4 digit pin too, whenever you gave them the 4 digit pin did it take 48+ hours after you gave it to them or just under 48 hours after due to them responding back after the beginning process of your port?
I am definitely not sticking with us mobile , after seeing that the data isn’t allowing for excessive speed tests is a heavily dealbreaker for me just since I do speed testing and my current line does just fine since I’m with a major carrier
I ported via chat and it was fairly quick; maybe took about 30 mins. I’ll check back with the app and website tomorrow, thanks for the info!
Could you please DM me your details? I’ll look into this for you.
Web or app? If app try pulling down to force refresh, if that doesn't work try clearing cache for the app.
Both the web and app show 0gb used in the last 24 hours. I cleared the cache and still go through same result. It’s not a huge deal , but thought it be interesting to see my daily usage.
I see you've checked via both web and app and it's still not updating. Try to re-login and check if it bears any results. Do observe it for 24 hours and if it still isn't updated - drop me a DM with your details and I'll get it checked.
Thanks so much! I’ll check on this and send a DM if nothing changes in 24 hours.
