TL;DR To delete your Hinge account: Open the app, go to your profile, select 'Account', choose 'Delete Account', and confirm.
Step-by-Step Guide
Deleting a Hinge account is straightforward but not immediately obvious. First, log into the Hinge app and tap on your profile icon located at the bottom right corner [1]. Scroll down to find the 'Account' option and select it. Then, choose 'Delete Account'. Hinge may ask for a reason for deletion, which you can provide or skip. Finally, confirm your decision to permanently delete your account
[1].
Common Issues and Misunderstandings
Some users have reported issues where their profiles still appear in matches even after deletion. This could be due to caching, where the profile remains visible temporarily until the app refreshes [5:1]. It's important to ensure that you delete your account rather than just uninstalling the app, as simply removing the app does not terminate your account
[5:2].
Problems with Account Visibility Post-Deletion
If your account continues to appear after deletion, it might be due to an incomplete process. Users have noted that deleting the app without following the proper steps will leave your profile active [4:2]. If issues persist, re-log into the app and attempt deletion again, ensuring all steps are followed correctly
[4:3].
Verification of Account Deletion
To verify if an account has been deleted, try logging back in with your old credentials. If the account was successfully deleted, you should be prompted to create a new account [5:7]. If your profile still appears, it indicates that the account wasn't properly deleted.
Additional Considerations
If you continue receiving emails from Hinge after deletion, check for an unsubscribe button in the emails to stop further communication [4:6]. If you suspect issues with account visibility, contacting Hinge support might be necessary, although some users have reported difficulties in getting responses

Alright, so I've decided it's time to bid farewell to my Hinge account, and I thought I'd share the process with you all. Deleting a Hinge account is pretty straightforward, but it's not as obvious as some other apps, so here's a quick rundown.
Boom! That's it! Your Hinge account is history. 😎
Keep in mind, though, if you've subscribed to their premium stuff, cancel that first through your app store subscriptions. And remember, deleting the app from your phone won't delete your account, so don't forget this final step.
Hope this helps anyone looking to take the plunge and ditch Hinge. Now, what's your favorite dating app? Let's chat about it!
Thank you for sharing this valuable resource. It can benefit so many people.

I'm curious about your ideas for addressing this issue.

I'm curious how this compares to similar situations in other countries.
I'm glad you addressed this issue. It's important to keep it in the spotlight.
I think she knows about the unsubscribe button by now,
Her real concern must be why is the profile still visible to others.
Answer to why is that hinge still has your account active on their server, so did you delete the account or just the app ??
I deleted the account.
Either they still have your profile active or just some wicked marketing tactic to get you back.
All company emails have an unsubscribe button at the bottom, just click on it you’ll be good to go!
But, how are people liking my pics or seeing my profile if I've deleted it, I mailed it to hinge support but they are ghosting me.
Oh, didn’t see the “liked” email, yeah that’s concerning, try re-logging and deleting again. There might be some kind of “deactivate” option that got mis-selected, can’t be sure so whatever?
ghosting part must be relatable huh??
New email id bana lo 😂
So funny
Gender ratio down so bad they’re trynna get you back
Khud Khushi karle
Khushi khush nahi lagg rahi hai
I’m getting conflicting answers on this. If you delete your Hinge profile, do you still show up in other people’s matches? I know that if you delete the app, your profile will still be there.
My boyfriend told me he fully deleted his Hinge account, but he still shows up in my friend’s list of matches (we both matched w him at the same time which was funny). It’s obviously in the bottom portion of hidden messages, but it’s still there.
I know it’s not a huge deal, but we had a small fight about me not having fully deleted my Hinge. I want to know if he did.
Found this on Hinge Help Center and I think it would help answer your questions.
“Simply removing, uninstalling or deleting the Hinge app from your phone will not terminate your account entirely, you must follow the above steps to terminate your profile.
This action ensures all your content including photos, chat history, and member interactions have been deauthorized.”

Most probable outcome is he didn’t deactivate the account. Hopefully, that’s not the case. Hope this helps.
You delete your account and your profile is completely gone from the app and off of other people’s match and likes list instantaneously.
Your boyfriend is lying. Or he didn’t remember correctly when he only deleted the app or paused his account.
Edit: Also possible your friend is mistaken (or trying to stir up drama) unless you saw your boyfriend still matched with your friend with your own eyes.
Unfortunately I saw the match on her phone.
We had a long conversation about this months ago. I told him I had only deleted the app and he said he had deleted his entire account. We redownloaded my app together to see our first messages and they were there. I asked him if that meant he hadn’t deleted his account, and he told me I was dumb because ofc deleting an account doesn’t erase it from other people’s phones. I was embarrassed and deleted my account in front of him.
Girl, leave his ass - red flags, calling you dumb when you're asking a question?! Making you feel embarrassed?! You deserve someone lovely who would reassure you kindly.
If he deleted the app, he would be removed from hinge totally!! So he's lying to you, sorry girl but you deserve way better. Don't settle for less ❤️❤️❤️
If he's so sure he deleted the profile, ask him to log into his account with his old login and phone number. If his profile is deleted, it will ask him to make a new account. If he didn't delete it, his old profile will show up. If you still want to be in a relationship with him after seeing the old profile, ask him to delete it on the spot that way you know he actually deleted it and did it right
"He told me I was dumb" 🚩🚩🚩
He's lying, sorry.
I’m sorry regardless of what happened, your boyfriend should never be allowed to insult you like that when being (rightfully) questioned. He’s a new bf and supposed to on his best behavior in the honeymoon phase yet he still acts like this, can you imagine how he’s treating you in the future? Count it a blessing that he’s showing the red flags early on.
You disappear when you delete your account
You mean ex-bf right??? Lol
PREACH 🙌🏻
Yep, if you delete the account, Hinge would have absolutely no reason or desire to continue showing your profile... NOW it *may* be cached for a very small amount of time if you have your list open but once you refresh your app, that profile should be pulled from your stack.
Long story short I felt like I needed to delete my profile, which I regret. I joined again, and now the app feels almost unusable. I had zero problems with the app before and the quality of profiles, likes, matches. But now I’m only seeing what hinge’s algorithm seems to consider less desirable profiles. I realize I shot myself in the foot by deleting, but is there a way to circumvent this, or should I give up and move on.
No, Hinge doesn't punish you for this. Most likely you're just being "explored" by the algorithm because it sees you as a new user, part of that is showing you less desirable profiles for a while.
Hinge does punish you for this unfortunately. Google Hinge shadow ban. Most dating apps do this actually, which is no surprise, they're all owned by the same parent company.
All I find are scammers promising to "unban" you and speculation from users on reddit who probably overestimate their own looks or the quality of their profile.
Nah, I do it all the time although I haven’t since September and it got really good after a month. I think hinge goes from great when you first get it, to absolute garbage after a week, to back to reasonable then stabilizes to match how well you do like wise.
I did the same but I rejoined after 20 days or so. I don't get any likes (never really used to anyways) but get decent matches (5 in my first week). Its just a case of sending those 8 likes out everyday and relying on them to match with you
At least you are having real people. 90% of the profiles i come across are scammers. Always asking to chat on whatsapp.
She: They had otters😇 He: I wanna lick up your oyster🌚
Emotional roller coaster 🤣
Emotional rolleroyster
I don’t know what the deal is with this dumbass behavior, so many guys gripe about not getting matches or chats- then they do get one- and just shoot themselves in the foot by trying to make it sexual right off the bat.
Look. We are all on dating apps because we want to find someone to sleep with. You match because you find something attractive about the other person. You generally have to put in like a bit of effort and actually- I don’t know- meet before someone is interested in hearing this crap.
And dudes wonder why the apps aren’t working out for them…
Some men perceive it to be a test when women stay in the nonsexual lane
This could've been 2 screenshots
But I enjoy when there’s a completely separate picture per message
That's fucking wild 😂😂
Referring to a girls pousay as an oyster has gotta be the WILDEST flirting I've ever seen
how the hell do you delete your profile!
You can't. Not really. You can go through the delete process, but they'll keep showing it to people even if you delete it. So go through it and scrub it clean of any information about you. Put a nondescript photo up, then delete all photos of you. Delete all your settings for who you're looking for. Delete all the bio sections/ Go through and delete all the questions you answered. make the whole thing as blank as you can so there's no way to connect it to you. Then delete.
You can try, but they'll probably still show your profile. And tons of "likes/matchs" just to try to keep ya coming back. It's like their way to beg you to stay and maybe later.......pay. They act like a "bad mommy" that can't let her kids go their own way. 😖😖😖
I "disabled" my account and haven't gotten any emails/notifications at all.
I have deleted mine for the past three days according to their directions and I keep getting emails about matches and new messages from matches. I believe they will have my profile forever.
wtf!
I’ve been dealing with some mental health issues lately, and I realized the very common ghosting that happens probably contributes. There’s a couple people I’ve had conversations with that I really like, so I’m hoping that just texting my number and deleting the app won’t delete the messages. Basically I’m wondering if they’ll see the messages even tho I don’t have the app.
No and it baffles me how so many people think this is how apps in general work tbh! It probably explains the masses of inactive accounts in my area!
Your best bet is to pause your profile - this stops you being shown in the app to anyone but your existing matches, but keeps it there hidden should you wanna return without making a new one
🙂
No. Just like if you had a gmail account and you deleted the gmail app off your phone, the account needs to be deleted independently from the app itself.
No.
No
I’m pretty sure only deleting the app from your phone will not delete the profile. You’d have to actually delete your account.
how to delete a hinge account
To delete your Hinge account, follow these steps:
Open the Hinge App: Launch the app on your mobile device.
Go to Settings: Tap on your profile icon in the bottom right corner, then tap on the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right corner to access settings.
Account Settings: Scroll down to find the "Account" section.
Delete Account: Tap on "Delete Account." You may be prompted to provide a reason for leaving.
Confirm Deletion: Follow the prompts to confirm that you want to delete your account. This action is usually irreversible, so ensure you want to proceed.
Important Considerations:
Data Loss: Deleting your account will erase all your matches, messages, and profile information. If you think you might want to return, consider just disabling your account instead.
Reactivation: If you decide to return to Hinge later, you will need to create a new account, as deleted accounts cannot be restored.
Recommendation: If you're unsure about permanently deleting your account, consider temporarily disabling it instead. This way, you can take a break without losing your data.
