Who the fuck is ready for PHX tomorrow!?!?!? What’s the best time to get there to avoid all stress? I have court at 2:30 and hoping I can be done in time and get over at the arena around 4:30 or 5. Need to get some merch and just get situated lol. So fucking excited first ever concert.

How to Get Early Access to Amazon Deals

Amazon Prime Membership

One of the most effective ways to get early access to Amazon deals is by becoming an Amazon Prime member. Prime members often receive early access to Lightning Deals and exclusive promotions during major sales events like Prime Day. This membership also includes benefits such as free shipping, streaming services, and more.

Amazon App Notifications

Downloading the Amazon app can be beneficial for receiving notifications about upcoming deals. The app allows you to set alerts for specific products or categories, ensuring you're among the first to know when a deal goes live. This feature can be particularly useful during large sales events where deals are time-sensitive.

Watch Lists and Deal Alerts

Creating watch lists and setting deal alerts on Amazon can help you keep track of items you're interested in. By adding products to your watch list, you'll be notified when they go on sale. Additionally, deal alerts can be customized based on your preferences, allowing you to focus on specific categories or brands.

Following Social Media and Influencers

Many influencers and deal websites share information about upcoming Amazon sales and exclusive offers. Following these sources on social media platforms can provide insights into when deals will be available and how to access them early. Some influencers might even have special promo codes or links that give followers early access to certain deals.

Amazon's Early Access Programs

Occasionally, Amazon offers early access programs for new products or limited-time offers. These programs may require signing up or participating in specific activities. Keeping an eye on Amazon's announcements and newsletters can help you stay informed about these opportunities.

While the discussions provided insights into other types of early access scenarios, such as concert merchandise booths [5:1], the principles of arriving early, staying informed, and leveraging memberships apply similarly to securing early access to Amazon deals.

[I posted a version of this as a comment to a similar question a few days ago. Thought I'd give it its own post as it could help others]

Think of reading like a muscle you have to exercise; so if you're just starting out, or restarting after a slump, it's easier to start small and easy and fun :)

Don't go for something you think you SHOULD read; pick something you really want to read. Not sure what that is? What genres / subject matter do you enjoy watching? What type of vids do you like scrolling? Pick books with similar topics and themes. I know people hate AI, but it's actually a good tool for this! You can ask it: If I enjoy ___ suggest books that I'll like. You can get more specific with mood, characters, etc, and see what you can find that way. The book suggestion subs are good for this, too.

If you find yourself unable to concentrate for too long, try short stories.

Make it a routine. Set aside an hour - or even just half an hour - every day, at a fixed time. If even that feels like too much, do reading "reps" of 10 minutes - say, 10 minutes when you wake up, 10 minutes after lunch, 10 minutes before bed. Eventually, you should find you can't stop, and will want to continue.

Find a nice quiet spot, and put your phone away in another room. If you live with family or roommates, ask one of them to hide your phone and absolutely not give it back to you until your designated reading time is up. :D

Sometimes, I find music a distraction from reading, but sometimes it can help me focus if I have too much else on my mind. See if it works for you.

Get a tracking app like Storygraph. Good for keeping yourself accountable and also getting personalised recommendations.

Set a reading goal. But don't set it too high or too low. Also, if you're not on track, don't stress about it to the point where you're forcing yourself to just rush through something to meet that goal. Just use it as another way to make sure you make time for reading, is all.

Hope this was helpful :)

It's a known issue, unfortunately, in this day and age. Consuming so much short-form content has been scientifically proven to shorten attention spans. So you'll have to train your brain, just like you would your body. :)

I didn’t get one in Boston, but I ran into someone on the train who did. The booth opened at 10am. The person said that when they got there at 9am, there were 130 people ahead of them.

Got in line for Boston just after 6, wasn't great with the rain but got an exclusive shirt 👌 Was like 7 persons ahead of me. Had to make it count since I came over from Swede. 😅

Boston. Got in line 1.5 hrs before early access booths opened and it was raining so probably would’ve been a longer line in good weather. Had maybe 50-100 people in line in front of me (I’m not great at guesstimating line sizes). Boston early access merch lines stopped selling the Boston exclusive less than an hour after early access opened but part of that is because they were reserving the rest for the actual show.

I think it helps that they limit people to 2 of the same tshirt now. I saw someone in line ahead of me with like six huge ikea bags and was worried they’d snatch up all the exclusives, so glad they’re not allowed to!

Yes — I’m being ‘That person’ lol — I was wondering about line up times, and how early to get to the venue for 9/13? Just wanting to feel it out and get there early as possible. I’ve been to concerts where I’ll get there a couple hours early and still be like 70/80 people behind

Posted by Sunoverhorizon · in r/miradormiradormirador · 12 days ago

If you’d share what time you and I there’s got to the venue, it’d be appreciated — thanks!

Amazon Marketing Emails

Posted by nobodyinnj · in r/amazonprime · 2 months ago

Is there any way to subscribe to Amazon Marketing emails like other companies have?

Amazon (or the sellers) puts items on sale, often for a few hours. Wonder how to get notified about them? Many times the deals already expire when they appear on other sites like SlickDeals.

Amazon doesn’t offer a direct “marketing email” list like other retailers, but you can turn on Personalized Recommendations and Deal Alerts in your account settings. Also, try using the Amazon app’s “Watchlist” or Deals section to track Lightning Deals in real time.

There's plenty of stuff on sale, but mostly it's not enough on sale that it's worth it if you weren't likely gonna buy it anyway

Ime basics do get some decent sales -- we usually stock up on like, detergent, paper goods, dishwashing pods, stuff like that. Esp as that's stuff you generally know the price of so you can tell if it's a good deal.

Check camelcamelcamel.com to see if it's actually a good sale.

1 upvotes on reddit
Throwaway_StLouis · 2 months ago

Yes. There are a number of good deals (as in prices that are or are tied for the lowest in the last 12-months).

For example, Amazon TV Stick 4K for $25 is great if you have Prime. Yes, it pushes amazon.com content. But it will make any TV with an HDMI port a smart TV, where you can watch Netflix, Hulu, Max, Disney+, etc. I have one on both my TV's and a third I take while traveling.

There are Prime Day deals on a number of LEGO sets.

Add your items to your Baby Registry before purchasing on Prime Day!

Posted by ConversationSorry463 · in r/pregnant · 2 months ago

Probably only applies for US, but before buying stuff on prime day, add it to your baby registry before checking out. You'll basically be getting the prime day sale PLUS completion discount on top of it.

**Your registry must be active for at least 14 days
**The discount becomes available 60 days before your due date and remains valid til 90 days after

how to get early access to Amazon deals

Key Considerations for Getting Early Access to Amazon Deals:

  1. Amazon Prime Membership:

    • Sign Up for Prime: Many early access deals are exclusive to Amazon Prime members. Consider signing up for a Prime membership to unlock these deals.
    • Prime Day: Keep an eye on Amazon Prime Day, which typically occurs in July, as it offers exclusive deals for members.
  2. Amazon App Notifications:

    • Download the App: Install the Amazon app on your smartphone.
    • Enable Notifications: Turn on notifications to receive alerts about upcoming deals and flash sales.
  3. Deal of the Day and Lightning Deals:

    • Check Daily: Visit the "Deals" section on Amazon regularly to find daily deals and limited-time Lightning Deals.
    • Set Alerts: Use tools or browser extensions that notify you when specific items go on sale.
  4. Amazon Wish List:

    • Create a Wish List: Add items to your Amazon Wish List. Amazon often sends notifications when items on your list go on sale.
  5. Follow Amazon on Social Media:

    • Social Media Updates: Follow Amazon's official social media accounts for announcements about upcoming deals and promotions.
  6. Third-Party Deal Websites:

    • Use Deal Aggregators: Websites like Slickdeals or Honey often highlight Amazon deals and can notify you of price drops.

Recommendation: If you're serious about getting the best deals, consider investing in an Amazon Prime membership. The benefits, including early access to sales and exclusive discounts, often outweigh the cost, especially during major sales events.
